I'm here to ask Anderson Cooper about Operation Mockingbird and the CIA's influence on mainstream media. A German reporter claimed the CIA bribed and extorted him to publish stories. Why is there a pro-government slant in Western media, like biased coverage of Putin and Assad compared to Saudi Arabia? Cooper is surrounded by security, preventing conversation on important issues like government manipulation of news. Is he avoiding the question because of his CIA past during college? A prominent German journalist recently revealed that the CIA is still manipulating the media, writing scripts for them. The media is just another branch of the government, a mouthpiece for propaganda, unable to face real questions. Cooper is hiding behind his security.

During a question period, Pierre Polayev cited a Fox News report about a terrorist attack, which was the only outlet reporting it at the time. He was questioned about the responsibility of using media reports when the Canadian government was still learning about the situation. Polayev defended his statement by criticizing the Canadian press for making three corrections in one article. Another speaker pointed out that attacking the agency instead of addressing the question was not appealing in terms of leadership and constructive conversations. The discussion ended with the mention of a GTA voter who didn't appreciate the aggressive tone.

Host: You mentioned at one point that CDC management actually prevented you from interviewing Conservative leader Pierre Pauli on your show. Can you describe what happened there? Guest: Well we I mean I basically wasn't allowed to pick the phone and and talk to conservatives. I have some g chats here which I just want to you know read you part of this. I'm talking to my senior producer I'm saying okay, you know this is an editorial discussion. Can we get a Conservative perspective on this is essentially what I'm saying. It is a no to the Conservatives I'm told. We can't chase anyone from the entire party. The chase is with P and P. So if power and politics is not able to secure a conservative, or, you know, somebody that presents an alternate perspective, then we are not allowed to. I'm told at one point we're sure that there's a myriad of other types of interesting guests that you can chase outside of the Conservatives. Can I be included on conversations with power and politics? That's not how we work. I say to management by playing petty office politics we feed into Conservative narratives that we have a bias against them. Canada tonight is a melting pot of news of the day and politics and decisions, from it largely impact Canadians. So we need flexibility to to respond to emerging stories. So yes, I wasn't even allowed to pick up the phone and call to request Pierre Pauliev. Host: Look at what happened when I had Melissa Lanceman on my show, right? That I was threatened to be pulled off the air which CBC then said in a news statement they didn't threaten to do that. There are recordings of them trying to do this. Why Guest: I mean there's an effort to essentially, protect those in Ottawa in in terms of their perspectives on these things, in terms of who they want on the show. It should be about you know, we did an interview with Karen Johnson, my cohost on the new podcast I'm doing. She's another former CBC employee that is talking about the toxic culture. She said that she alleges that she was called a brown Barbie, a bimbo, but she says that it's it's a very high school culture. And these are things that this is fine if you if you have hosts doing that it's not fine but it okay but management you are responsible for dealing with that and so if management is not going to do anything, if the President of the CBC is going to come here and expect a tongue lashing and then be able to go back to the CBC and continue to get funding without accountability, these practices will continue. So shame is clearly not enough to get the CBC to a place where they will hold themselves accountable so it's incumbent upon this committee to do that.

According to Speaker 0, Canada's new prime minister threatened to seize capital from companies not advancing Canada's climate agenda. Speaker 1 stated the goal is for every financial decision to consider climate change, backing companies that are part of the solution and taking capital away from those who are part of the problem. Speaker 0 claims the prime minister is a fan of censorship and threatened American social media platforms, referencing a statement by Speaker 1 that large American online platforms have become seas of hate and are being used by criminals to harm children, and that his government will act. Speaker 0 asserts there is no free speech in Canada and that the prime minister wants to ban social media platforms, shut down dissent, and use the climate crisis as an excuse to steal from businesses and control their means of production. Speaker 0 concludes that while the friendship between the US and Canada will continue, the "free ride" is over.

Thank you for inviting me to speak. I’m Lauren Southern, a filmmaker and YouTuber. Recently, Tenet Media, a company I worked with, was indicted for alleged ties to Russian funding. I want to clarify that I had no knowledge of these allegations and maintained full creative control over my content. Claims that Tenet Media has significant influence are exaggerated. They had about 300,000 YouTube subscribers, not the 16 million cited. The alleged views and impressions are also inflated. If Russia aimed to influence Western media, they failed. As the only Canadian commentator discussing Canadian issues, I can assure you that any influence from alleged Russian funding was minimal. Many Canadians hold views based on their own experiences and concerns, not foreign disinformation. It's crucial to recognize that these opinions reflect a growing sentiment among Canadians. Thank you.

Good morning, Justin. I want to address your connection with Klaus Schwab and the World Economic Forum's agenda. It seems you prioritize your own interests over the people of Canada. Many are becoming frustrated with your actions, and it's time we stand up against this. We have the power to reject mandates and decisions imposed on us. I’m out here wanting to live my life peacefully, but I can’t ignore what’s happening. It’s crucial for us to unite, regardless of our backgrounds, and assert that we’ve had enough of being controlled by a select few. I wish everyone a life filled with adventure and happiness, but we need to confront these issues first. God bless you all.

Over the past decade, I have been targeted for reporting on Benghazi by organizations like Media Matters for America. These groups, funded by taxpayers, aim to censor and intimidate those who speak out. This is a threat to journalists, scientists, and doctors. It's time for us, as the government, to stop funding our own suppression. Thank you.

Speaker 0 accuses the Liberal government of attempting to censor Canadians online through bills like C-11, C-18, and C-63. They claim these bills give the Liberals control over online algorithms, squeeze out independent media, and criminalize thought. The speaker alleges that cabinet ministers are competing to oversee the latest online censorship law. Speaker 1 responds by stating that Google agreed to pay $100 million to support Canadian journalism. They accuse the Conservative Party of opposing this initiative, which they claim would prevent deaths and hinder the media from receiving funding for local content and journalists. The speaker deems this opposition unthinkable and immoral.

Merci.

This individual is preventing multiple journalists from entering the building to cover a potential future prime minister's appointment. Is this the kind of country he aims to create? I'm being called a fascist for wanting to stop the war in Ukraine today. I'm against the needless deaths of hundreds of thousands of people and I'm looking for peace, not war. I didn't come here to be aggressive, but a member of parliament started screaming at me for asking a question, which is all on video. I'm just showing what's happening and exposing Charlie Angus for who he is: a member of parliament who screams and swears at Canadian citizens. He slanders people and wants to revoke citizenship of those he disagrees with, yet he calls me a fascist. This group surrounded and shouted me down for simply asking a question. Who are the real fascists here? I have it all on video.

It's crucial to ensure that shared content isn't exploited by foreign entities to undermine Canadian democracy. I maintain full creative control over everything I publish through my media contracts. Concerns have been raised about online content unintentionally aiding foreign propaganda, particularly regarding recent immigration policy critiques. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced a pause on immigration, which I have long argued for. It's interesting to see this portrayed as Russian disinformation. I believe Trudeau's decision is correct, and I hope this committee doesn't dismiss valid concerns simply because they align with opinions from individuals with foreign-sounding names.
