Today is National Coming Out Day, and I'm excited to announce that I'm going back on testosterone. I loved being on it before, but needed to connect with my emotional body. I had to unwind trauma from being read as a man and sacrificing parts of myself. I now embrace my femininity and look forward to exploring it on a testosterone-dominant body. I believe transgenderism is a mental health condition, but I support open conversation. I met two young women who had regretted their decision to have surgeries as teenagers. I think adults should have the freedom to live as they choose, but we must protect children.

I got all of this covered through TRICARE, which has updated its policies to support trans soldiers. It was a long process involving evaluations, doctors, and getting my commander and command team involved. There was a lot of paperwork to be signed due to the military's bureaucracy. I don't want to fight in a war that has nothing to do with us, and most people in the military feel the same. People join the military to improve their lives, not because they want to risk their lives for the country. Many veterans suffer from physical and mental disabilities after serving, and I even know someone who took their own life due to mental issues. So, am I a coward for not wanting that? Don't call me names like "pussy" or "low testosterone" just because I'm not interested in fighting. I'm tall and hairy, and liking men doesn't mean I have low testosterone. Some of you have even slept with men, so stop projecting onto me.
