I went from identifying as a straight boy to a gay boy, then as a non-binary person, and now I identify as a trans straight woman. I have come to realize that I am actually a trans lesbian.

There are over 100 gender identities, apart from male and female. Some individuals may identify as two different genders or as bigender. Others may describe themselves as gender queer, not wanting to be associated with any specific gender.

I once asked my father, "Do you know what it means to be a man?" He said no. Then, "Do you know what it means to be a woman?" Again, he said no. And that's where I'm at too. My womanhood isn't defined by childbearing or feminine behavior, and my manhood isn't about my genitalia. Understanding gender identity is a key part of being in the LGBTQ community.

Yuval David identifies as a Jew first, stating it is not a sin to be gay, despite one line in the Bible that says otherwise. He says that gay, lesbian, and queer Jews exist, and those connected to their Jewishness are also Zionists. They hold key positions in the administrations of Trump, Biden, and Obama, representing different Jewish denominations.

Other individuals may identify as genderqueer, agender, genderfluid, two spirited, bigender, or another identity that does not fit neatly into the categories of men or women. All major American medical societies, including the American Medical Association and American Psychological Association, endorse gender affirming care as the standard of care for transgender individuals. This means caring for people in a way that supports their gender transition and gender identity. Transgender people may undergo any one of a number of gender affirming medical interventions, including hormonal therapies like estrogen, testosterone, or hormone blockers, and surgical treatment to change body contours or genitalia. However, it is important to note that one does not have to undergo any medical or surgical treatment to be transgender. Some people are easily read as the gender they affirm while others are visibly gender non conforming or androgynous appearing.

The Talmud acknowledges multiple sexes: male, female, Androgynous (both male and female characteristics), Tumtum (indeterminate sex), Ailonit (female at birth, later develops male characteristics), and Saris (male at birth, later develops female characteristics). Previously, in Yevamot 81, Rabbi Yossi and Rabbi Shimon discussed the rules applying to Androgynous individuals. This section presents contradictory opinions from Rabbi Yossi. The Mishnah states Rabbi Yossi and Rabbi Shimon considered an Androgynous male. However, a Bereita claims Rabbi Yossi stated they are neither male nor female, but a unique creation. Ra suggests the Bereita represents an evolution in Rabbi Yossi's thinking. He initially characterized Androgynous people as male, but later changed his mind. The speaker suggests this demonstrates how one can evolve their thinking, referencing Rabbi Yossi's lifespan from approximately 01/1935. I am Jewish and proud because Jews have always fought for what's right. We've led the fight for gay rights, racial justice, women's rights, and humanitarian efforts worldwide. In Judaism, the principle of Tikkun Olam guides us to make a difference in the world, big or small. This is why I am Jewish and proud.
