For the past 10 years, I've been dealing with lipomas, noncancerous fatty tumors all over my body. I've consulted multiple doctors who all said the only solution was surgery. However, I discovered that fasting, specifically intermittent fasting for 18 to 24 hours a day, has caused the lipomas to disappear. I spent a lot of money on surgeries before realizing this. It's frustrating because doctors have been influenced by pharmaceutical companies to focus on diagnosing and treating rather than preventing and healing. We have the power to heal ourselves, and I'm sharing my experience to shed light on this issue.

High blood pressure is often attributed to age, genetics, or luck, but lifestyle factors are frequently the cause. Current treatments address the symptom of high blood pressure without targeting the root cause. Addressing root causes like excess weight, electrolyte imbalance, and unstable blood sugar can naturally lower blood pressure. Clients have reduced or eliminated their blood pressure medication by losing weight, improving nutrition, increasing movement, and eating real food. Reducing physical stress on the cardiovascular system through these methods can alleviate the need to live in fear of high blood pressure. The body and heart can improve over time when root causes are addressed.

Type two diabetes is skyrocketing, and the most promising development is the potential to reverse it through dietary changes. Type two diabetes is largely a dietary disease, but it has been treated with drugs, which doesn't address the core problem. Changing the diet can resolve the issue. Data on intermittent fasting and low carbohydrate diets show promise. Dr. David Unwin's UK data indicates that reducing carbohydrates can lead to a drug-free remission state in about fifty percent of type two diabetics, essentially curing them.

There are multiple randomized controlled trials—The standard for population-wide policy—that show a diet dramatically reducing carbohydrates can reverse type two diabetes, reverse hypertension, and reverse the vast majority of cardiovascular risk factors, and even reverse schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. Depression and anxiety can be reduced by seventy-nine percent within weeks. In the largest type two diabetes trial, more than fifty percent reversed their diabetes, including people with eight years’ duration, with results in about ten weeks. This knowledge has been around for a decade, yet you haven’t heard of it or seen it in newspapers. It affects thirty-eight million people. Think of the thousands of articles on Ozempic and Wegovy, and not a single piece on reversing type two diabetes using food. This is doable and should be a source of optimism amid today’s challenges.

Twenty five years ago, I had five restaurants in San Francisco. And I had a massive heart attack. I was in the hospital for two weeks. I could hardly just about walk three steps, so I'd have to stop and rest. I was popping twenty or thirty nitriles a day. But then Dean Ornish was starting his program to see if you can reverse heart disease through lifestyle change. And he went to my doctor and asked if he could approach me. He told Dean, how long is the program? So he said it was a year. And my doctor told him, he wouldn't recommend taking me because he didn't think I would live the year. So he figured I was gonna die because I was in such bad shape. And now, twenty five years later, I'm in pretty good shape.

reSee.it Video Transcript AI Summary
I put three autoimmune diseases into remission, not to mention a bunch of other health conditions that I was dealing with, and I want to share how I did that. A little disclaimer: I am not a doctor and I have no medical background whatsoever. I was a desperate person who refused to believe I had to be on medication for the rest of my life or endure this pain forever. I did research, studied, and took matters into my own hands. After a lot of trial and error, two years later I am a completely different person, and I’m going to share what I did. It’s going to feel too good to be true or too simple, but I’m telling you right now that the way you eat changes everything. The best way I can describe it and simplify it for others is that humans need to be eating food in their truest form. I view it as the way God put it on the earth is the way it should be eaten. The more processed it is, the more terrible it is for our bodies. So I eliminated all processed food, and if it is processed, it is very minimally processed. A perfect example: I will eat potato chips, but I have to pick up the bag, look at the label, and if it says potatoes, sea salt, avocado oil as the three ingredients, I will eat those because it is very simple ingredients. I’m not going to pick up a bag of Lay’s. Another example: I am not going to buy bread at the store. Bread at the store or any flour is empty calories, bleached, all the nutrients taken out. Instead, I buy whole wheat berries, mill them myself, and make bread from that because that is bread in its truest form. I believe we should be able to eat dairy and gluten, but it all needs to be in its truest form, and when it is, our bodies can handle it. The reason people are sick and cannot eat certain foods is because of the way they are processed or modified. I think the biggest issue with humans and why we’re all so sick is because we are eating all of the wrong things and not getting enough nutrients in our diets. If you eat whole grains in their truest form, dairy in its truest form, lean protein, fruit, vegetables in their truest form, meaning no pesticides, no glyphosate, organic fruits and vegetables. I don’t think all fruits and vegetables have to be organic—only some are sprayed with pesticides, but it’s called the dirty dozen; look into that. As long as we are eating things in their truest form and avoiding processed junk, processed sugar, soda, fast food, we are giving our bodies what it needs to thrive and to heal itself. Not saying this fixes everything—there may be conditions that can’t be fixed by this—but people could be surprised by how many issues would go away if we ate the way we were meant to. If you want, I can share an example of a day of eating. Just say the word. I hope you have a great night and remember you do not have to be sick. Doctors are not taught nutrition in medical school—they are taught to prescribe medication. A lot of us think we have to be on medication for the rest of our lives to feel good, when in reality we just need to eat differently.

Cholesterol and triglycerides are warning signs that can be improved naturally. One client, Jeremy, had elevated cholesterol and triglycerides at 294. Instead of medication, the focus was on addressing the causes of lipid dysfunction through nutrition, movement, blood sugar stabilization, and inflammation reduction. In three months, Jeremy's triglycerides decreased from 294 to 85, and his LDL cholesterol also dropped, even while eating eggs daily. The claim is that blood sugar spikes, lack of exercise, visceral fat, and processed foods drive these numbers, not dietary cholesterol. Jeremy followed a sustainable plan without extreme dieting or excessive exercise. The root cause of poor blood test results is often metabolic dysfunction, which can be fixed. According to Jeremy, the program was 100% responsible for his improvements.

Speaker 0 argues that type 1 diabetes is linked to factors such as raw meat, raw milk, bee pollen, removing WiFi, barefoot grounding, and dragon's blood. They claim the pancreas is “pretty much just getting zapped by WiFi, electricity” and that these elements “mess with your blood sugar.” They assert that consuming raw meats, raw milk, and raw honey causes the pancreas to work harder due to “too much electricity, too many radio frequencies,” combined with too much processed foods, and that everything in the gut turns to sugar, leaving the pancreas overloaded. They propose that diabetes type 1 is reversible, and that type 2 diabetes requires only activity and dietary changes. They state that “all illnesses are reversible,” and expand on a broader view that illness exists because of systemic incentives: they claim the Rockefeller system benefits from people being sick and detoxing, implying that if people healed themselves through a raw diet, eliminating WiFi, and reconnecting with the sun, they would not be patients and hospitals would shut down. They suggest doctors, nurses, and hospitals rely on keeping people sick and dependent to earn money. The speaker reflects on a personal journey that led to these realizations, concluding that many people are lying and that others want you to remain a patient. They present a worldview in which sickness serves financial interests, and imply that true healing comes from lifestyle choices such as dietary changes, removing exposure to WiFi, and increasing sun exposure.

Sami Inkinen: "Why the Two Weeks Following Our IPO Were the Worst of my Life" | E1120
Guests: Sami Inkinen
reSee.it Podcast Summary
Growing up on a farm in Finland near the Russian border, I had humble beginnings, doing manual labor like picking potatoes and feeding chickens. My parents were factory workers, so I had no professional role models. Getting a Commodore 64 before age 10 fueled my dream of creating something valuable for others. My move to America to build a company still feels unreal to my mom. After our IPO, instead of joy, I felt panic and disappointment. This was one of the lowest moments in my life. To address this, I attended a 10-day silent meditation retreat in Taiwan and have meditated ever since. Authenticity and vulnerability are key, striving to be the same person in all roles. During a Pacific row, I realized I had never truly observed my thoughts and emotions. This was a turning point, understanding that the mind needs reflection to stay on course. My mission is to help potentially billions restore their metabolic health by addressing obesity and diabetes, aiming to reverse diabetes globally. I prioritize sleep, averaging seven to eight hours a night, and treat myself like an Olympic athlete, focusing on the foundations of health and disciplined routines. Our goal is to make people healthy, not just sell drugs to treat symptoms of obesity and type 2 diabetes.

The SHOCKING SCIENCE On Preventing Disease, Diabetes & LOSING WEIGHT! | Ben Bikman
Guests: Ben Bikman
reSee.it Podcast Summary
Three macronutrient-based rules govern carbohydrate intake: avoid processed carbs, prioritize whole fruits and vegetables, and focus on protein and fat. Insulin resistance is the foundation of type 2 diabetes, which can be reversed through dietary changes rather than medication. A study showed that 11 women with diagnosed type 2 diabetes reversed their condition in 90 days through a dietary intervention aimed at lowering insulin without medication. To reduce insulin levels, fasting is the most effective method, as it allows insulin to drop quickly. When eating, focus on fats and proteins to keep insulin low. The conventional dietary paradigm, which emphasizes carbohydrates, is flawed; humans do not need essential carbohydrates. Instead, prioritize nutrient-dense animal proteins and healthy fats. Insulin resistance develops when fat cells become hypertrophic, leading to the release of free fatty acids and pro-inflammatory molecules that disrupt insulin signaling. To combat this, a low-insulin approach—controlling carbohydrates and prioritizing protein and fat—is recommended. Meal timing is also crucial; eating earlier in the day is more beneficial for metabolic health.

The Diabetes Doctor: 80% Of Adults Are Heading For Chronic Disease!
Guests: Andrew Koutnik
reSee.it Podcast Summary
Ketones aren’t a flavor of the month; they’re a metabolic lens, and this episode makes the case that metabolic health underpins most chronic disease. Dr. Andrew Koutnik, a research scientist who has studied metabolic health and the keto diet, explains that his mission is to empower people to control their health by translating science into action. After a difficult childhood with obesity and multiple chronic diagnoses, he embraced the ketogenic diet and documented its effects on diabetes, obesity, and even neurological conditions. He wears an insulin pump and a continuous glucose monitor to guide his own management, illustrating how glucose control sits atop a pyramid of risk factors. HbA1c, a two-to-three-month average, is identified as the strongest predictor of future complications, and carbohydrates are described as the most potent driver of glucose fluctuations. On keto, carbohydrates are restricted, fat becomes the primary energy source, and ketone bodies become a major fuel for the brain and muscles. The host and guest discuss the longest study of its kind—a ten-year, controlled look at a person with type 1 diabetes who switched from a standard ADA-style diet to ketogenic eating. LDL cholesterol nearly doubled, yet glycemic control remained normal and insulin requirements dropped by about 40%. A broader analysis of 46,000 type 1 diabetes patients found that many could normalize glucose with very low-carb approaches. The conversation also covers cognitive and psychiatric implications of ketosis, including improved brain network stability with exogenous ketones, reduced inflammation, and potential protection against cognitive decline and some forms of cancer progression. They describe how athletes can achieve high fat oxidation with sufficient adaptation, sustaining high-intensity exercise on keto. Beyond theory, practical guidance centers on food choices and daily habits. They warn against liquid calories and foods with high glycemic loads—white bread, white rice, potatoes, cereals, and many fruits when not carefully chosen. They emphasize “therapeutic carbohydrate restriction” for those with metabolic disease and note that about 93% of Americans have some metabolic derangement. Core habits—regular exercise, adequate protein, sufficient calories, and good sleep—are presented as foundation stones. The discussion also highlights the challenge of interpreting nutrition science and the reality of individual variation, underscoring that personal experimentation can reveal what works. The overarching message is that metabolic health is attainable through diet and lifestyle, with ketosis and ketone therapies offering potent tools.

#59–Jason Fung, M.D: Fasting as an antidote to obesity, insulin resistance, T2D, & metabolic illness
Guests: Jason Fung
reSee.it Podcast Summary
In this episode of The Drive, host Peter Attia discusses health optimization and longevity with nephrologist Dr. Jason Fung, known for his work on fasting and type 2 diabetes. Attia explains his podcast's ad-free model, emphasizing trust and the importance of sharing knowledge to improve health decisions. Fung critiques conventional diabetes treatments, advocating for fasting as a primary intervention. He argues that the traditional understanding of insulin resistance is flawed, suggesting that hyperinsulinemia, rather than insulin resistance, is the core issue in metabolic diseases. He uses analogies, such as comparing insulin's role to a suitcase that becomes too full, to illustrate how excess insulin leads to complications like fatty liver and pancreatic issues. The conversation shifts to the role of the kidneys in metabolic disease, with Fung explaining how they serve as early indicators of health issues due to their high blood flow and filtration capabilities. He emphasizes the importance of monitoring kidney function and the implications of insulin resistance on kidney health. Fung shares insights on fasting, describing it as a powerful tool for reversing type 2 diabetes and improving overall health. He notes that many patients experience significant improvements in their conditions through fasting, often without the need for medications. He discusses various fasting protocols, including longer fasts and time-restricted eating, and highlights the psychological and physiological benefits of these practices. Attia and Fung also touch on the challenges of implementing dietary changes, particularly in culturally diverse populations, and the importance of creating supportive environments for patients. They discuss the potential benefits of fasting for healthy individuals, suggesting that periodic fasting may help prevent chronic diseases associated with hyperinsulinemia. The episode concludes with a discussion on the need for a paradigm shift in understanding metabolic health, emphasizing that fasting and dietary interventions can be effective strategies for managing and preventing chronic diseases. Fung advocates for a more individualized approach to treatment, recognizing that different patients may respond differently to various interventions.
