More governmental authorities are mandating the vaccine in response to the rise of Delta. It cannot come soon enough, as we have hit a wall with vaccinations and need higher levels to prevent another surge and new variants. A decision must be made as a society, similar to laws against drunk driving. While people can remain unvaccinated, there's an obligation to society if they want to be in public and potentially infect others with a dangerous disease. An opt-out system, like in France or Italy, could require vaccination or proof of a negative test to enter bars, restaurants, and movie theaters. People should not have the choice to infect vulnerable children, immunocompromised people, or even others who have taken the responsible choice to get vaccinated.

There are people who do not want to comply and get vaccinated, and we have to get them vaccinated. Hopefully, they will do it willingly. If not, there will have to be things that will essentially put pressure on them. For example, you're not going to work in this particular agency or institution, or go to this college or university unless you get vaccinated. Once we start doing that, you will see more and more people willingly get vaccinated.

Vaccine mandates were a challenging time, but ultimately, individuals made their own choices regarding vaccination; there was no compulsory vaccination. Early next year, efforts will focus on reaching those who have not yet been vaccinated. We need as many people vaccinated as possible. We all need to give people confidence to be vaccinated, as part of the program. It is also dealing with this misinformation.

Those who refuse to get vaccinated have been victims of misinformation on social media and exploitation by political forces. We need to reach out to them as well.

There are potential side effects in vaccinations, and some people have gotten very sick from them. However, I am not forcing anyone to get vaccinated. Instead, I am providing incentives and protections to encourage Canadians to get vaccinated.

Anyone who comes into contact with them will blame them, as will the rest of us who've done the right thing by getting vaccinated. We can't trust the unvaccinated. Our patience is wearing thin with those, including children and people acting like children, who refuse vaccination. It's not about freedom or personal choice when your freedom infringes on others' well-being. It's mandatory to get vaccinated. The anti-vaxxers are putting lives at risk, and we need to prioritize the greater good of society over their misinformation. They're being stupid and silly. The unvaccinated will pay the price, perhaps through taxes or healthcare costs. Remaining unvaccinated is like driving while intoxicated. The choice for ICU beds won't be tough: vaccinated people first. Every COVID death now is preventable, and those spreading misinformation should be ashamed.

If you and your friends had just gotten vaccinated like most of us did, we would all be free by now. I demand payback. We have found something that can protect us, so I want my freedom back. And not just temporarily, because some people are shouting "Freedom Day" now. The real burden is not having a vaccine mandate, it's not having one. It's a burden for the majority who are being responsible. Everyone, regardless of age, spreads the virus more if they're unvaccinated. We can't rely on cosmetic measures anymore. We need herd immunity. I urge you to get vaccinated for the sake of children, teenagers, and our freedom.
