Chemical munitions were deployed, and flashbangs were used against the speakers. There was a request for assistance near an ice cream tower. The speaker, who has custody of 44,000 hours of videos, witnessed acts of violence against police officers that were brutal and ugly. The officers did what they had to do. However, another speaker claims that if the police hadn't used concussion grenades and pepper spray, the incident wouldn't have occurred. They argue that it was a peaceful protest and deny any aggression towards the officers. The situation escalated when the police started firing without provocation.

US Park Police, the oldest federal police force formed in 1791 by none other than than president George Washington, protect sacred monuments: the National Mall, Washington Monument, Jefferson Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, Statue Of Liberty, plus sites in the Presidio and Golden Gate area. They handle tens of millions of visitors from around the world. The circles and the Triangle Parks that are spread throughout DC are actually federal park property, and these became littered with homeless camps under the Biden administration. Since President Trump's March 27 executive order making DC safe and beautiful again, the US Park Police have removed over 70 homeless camps, and over 80 attacks against our history with graffiti on our monuments. They patrol in vehicles, on foot, or on horseback around the National Mall. The rank and file is happy to be enforcing the law again, and they're excited about the announcement you're making today.

Buildings were burned to the ground. Dozens of people died. There was upwards of $2,000,000,000 in damage. In DC, protesters centered in the areas surrounding the White House; they scaled surrounding buildings to spray paint graffiti, they bashed in windows, they fought with police, they pulled down police barricades. They lit fires in the streets; they attempted to burn down Saint John's Church; they lit buildings on fire in Lafayette Park; they attempted to jump fences surrounding the White House. What we're not seeing at this moment, at least, is any real significant effort by MPD to get control of this situation right now. At one point, the violence was so intense that the Secret Service moved president Trump to the White House bunker. He tried to proclaim himself to be tough guy, ran down into a bunker while protests were raging outside. There were hearings about crowd control tactics used by police. Ultimately, an inspector general's report debunked the media's anti Trump narrative. We did not find evidence that a potential presidential visit to the park or the Saint John's Church influenced the park police's decision making or their deployment.

At 1:17 PM, a second wave of DC Metropolitan police arrives with explosive ammunition for officers on the west plaza. Officer Tara Tindall prepares CS gas rounds while scene commander Robert Glover authorizes the deployment of explosives into the crowd. An officer initially expresses concern that using grenades will escalate the situation but later seeks munitions to use. Officer Thao is reprimanded for using smoke without approval. Another captain instructs him to hold off on discharging CS gas. Amid the chaos, an officer voices frustration, stating that the police began firing on the crowd without provocation, claiming it was a peaceful protest before the use of concussion grenades and pepper spray.

Overnight, chaos erupted in Washington as protesters clashed with police in running battles through the streets. The White House was on lockdown, with the president barricaded inside while police tried to regain control. A small minority engaged in vandalism and looting, causing the police to temporarily lose control of the area. Some black activists view these acts of violence as a tragedy, as they fear it may overshadow the largely peaceful protests. The protests, powerful and eloquent, are in danger of being hijacked by more militant elements. These street skirmishes lasted for hours, and similar unrest is occurring in cities across the country.

Felicia Ashley has given us some good reporting about their role in Washington DC since August because it has been, contentious to some. There are plenty of people who did not like the National Guard being here in the city. We don't know if that's the case as why this person acted the way they did talking about the gunman. But nonetheless, as Michelle, as you've pointed out, this is a struggle that's been going on in cities across the country right now where there is a lot of push back from some others welcoming them with open arms, but about sending the National Guard as the president would like to multiple cities to try and what he says, cut down on crime. I was in Portland, Oregon just earlier this month reporting on on some of the pushback there as members didn't like the idea. Members of the political parties there didn't like the idea of the National Guard coming in. But Memphis, Chicago, there are plenty of other places where there's a a genuine debate, and you can only imagine that that debate is gonna get much stronger and intensify over the next few days. And and then the the the quick reaction from Pete Hegseth over at the Pentagon, the secretary of war, to say, okay. We're sending 500 more National Guard into Washington DC in light of what just happened. Shows you that there certainly won't be a scaling back. Yeah, and there's a question of whether that will agitate more. Incidents like this. We don't know. But that is something that we will be following in the days ahead. But right now, top of mind is this investigation. With this case playing out in Downtown DC. Our Christian Flores standing by. Christian, you have new information for us. I'll keep it on. You know, just wanna kind of take you back to what we're looking at right now. I mean, again, it's just an absolutely packed scene still several hours later. I mean, look, we've been talking about it pretty much throughout the entire afternoon. We're so close to the White House. You're used to seeing just more amped up police presence and security presence around this area. But, of course, you have a shooting and not just a shooting, but a shooting targeting two National Guard troops, and it's just gonna be amped up to eleven. I mean, earlier this afternoon, we spoke with someone who saw the aftermath. He didn't see the shooting, but he saw the aftermath. All of the first responders rushed to the scene. People, you know, trying to get some help to the scene. And he said he hasn't seen a police presence like this since, really, 09:11. And he's been here for a number of decades. Now, obviously, those are gonna be very, very different levels of police presence.

In June, federal police used tear gas to clear Lafayette Square for President Trump's photo op, violating a court-ordered settlement requiring clear warnings before such actions. Peaceful protesters were present when police advanced shortly before a curfew, but the warnings given were hard to hear. The acting chief of park police claimed three warnings were issued using a long-range acoustic device, but a whistleblower from the DC National Guard testified that the warnings were barely audible and not from that device. The lawyer representing the original lawsuit believes the settlement terms were violated and plans to file a new lawsuit. In other news, two Girl Scout cookie flavors, Toast Yay's and Girl Scout S'mores, will be discontinued, while sales continue to support local troops. Meanwhile, Los Angeles faces high wildfire risks, with devastating impacts already seen in neighborhoods like Altadena.

I am outraged by the state of Lafayette Park. Over 7,000 pieces of trash have been left behind, houses have been vandalized, and the Palestinian flag has been raised and remains there. Graffiti saying "Free Palestine" and "Decolonize Palestine, decolonize the United States" can be seen. It is unbelievable that law enforcement allowed this to happen on the grounds of the White House. We, the people, have to pay for the cleanup. This is Armstrong Williams reporting.

On that day, preparations were underway to mobilize the National Guard following a lawful request from local authorities, including the mayor of DC and the speaker of the house. Days prior, discussions in the Oval Office included the President authorizing over 20,000 National Guardsmen to secure the Capitol. The Department of Defense had approached Capitol Police multiple times about needing assistance, but those requests were often declined. The Capitol sergeant at arms, reporting to the speaker of the house, confirmed that assistance was unnecessary. Mayor Bowser also declined additional National Guard support in writing before January 6th. When asked about violence against law enforcement, the response was a clear condemnation of all such acts. Additionally, a promotion for a new immune-boosting product was mentioned, highlighting its benefits and introductory discount.

New information is emerging about January 6th. A new article will reveal that General Mark Milley, during the Trump administration in June 2020, authorized the use of heat and sound directed energy weapons against protesters in Washington, D.C. We have photographic evidence to support this claim, and the article will be released tomorrow, leading to further discussions about January 6th. The sound energy weapons can be set to either super audible, which deters crowds, or sub audible, which can incite chaos and violence, referred to as agitation weapons. This raises concerns about the government's role in events like January 6th, suggesting potential entrapment of citizens by their own agencies.

Many people, including myself, got sunburned over the weekend. Some of us experienced adverse reactions to sunscreen, causing our lips to break out. Different individuals react differently to these products. At the protest, there were first aid tents and friendly police officers in blue shirts, but there were also aggressive officers in black. The treatment of a peaceful protester, who was on her knees, was appalling. She was yelled at and a dog was used to intimidate her. It was overwhelming to witness such brutality. We are all exhausted and I never thought I would appear on camera looking like this. Some elderly people suggested taking photos as evidence of the unnatural situation. It feels like our own government is using weapons against us. We, the protesters, bring love while they respond with hatred and violence. But we will continue to spread love.

There is a feeling that something is about to happen, with the National Guard present near the Federal Building. No local police are visible at the intersection. People are handing out masks and gas masks. Individuals are seen doing graffiti and burnouts in the street. LAPD officers are staged on the other side of the fence of the building, blocking the freeway overpass to prevent protesters from throwing objects onto law enforcement below, as occurred the previous day. Masks are being handed out, specifically "bionic shield" masks. The distribution of these masks suggests that individuals plan to remain in the area for an extended period.

Hegseth Says National Guard EVERYWHERE On Table
reSee.it Podcast Summary
Good morning, everyone. Today’s show covers significant events, including protests across the country and Pete Hegseth's congressional testimony, which raised concerns about the deployment of the National Guard. Hegseth indicated that troops could be federalized anywhere, especially in blue states, amidst planned protests coinciding with Trump’s military parade. In political news, Gavin Newsom is positioning himself for a presidential run, while Trump has threatened to arrest him for his actions as governor. The Trump administration announced a framework for a China deal and hinted at a renewed relationship with Elon Musk. Protests in LA have quieted due to a curfew, but the militarization of law enforcement raises alarms about the normalization of military presence in domestic situations. Hegseth's testimony lacked clarity on the constitutional authority for deploying Marines, with historical references to past military interventions in civil unrest. As tensions rise regarding Iran, the potential for conflict looms, and the administration's handling of protests and military displays may influence public perception. The show also highlights the unpopularity of the proposed "big beautiful bill" and its implications for immigration policy.
