After October 7th, we established a comprehensive monitoring system in the U.S. to track elected officials at all levels, including school boards. This involves scrutinizing social media, press releases, and official documents. We are keeping a close eye on city councils and their voting records, ensuring we know how each member voted. Our goal is to monitor their actions throughout their careers and work to hold them accountable.

I want to share with the people of Rhode Island what this investigation looks like, where we are today, and where we anticipate it moving forward. Last night, there were dozens of Providence police officers working in the command post to develop leads in this difficult case, both because of the campus tragedy and the challenge of developing evidence. Our prosecutors—six in total—were there, and our victim services folks were at the hospital. This is what these investigations look like: sometimes you head in one direction, then you regroup and go in another. That has happened over the last 24 hours or so. Collectively, the team developed leads in multiple areas. One lead was chased to ground, leading to the detainment of a person of interest. Those words reflect that there was some degree of evidence pointing to this individual, but that evidence needed to be corroborated and confirmed. Over the last 24 hours, leading into very recently, that evidence now points in a different direction. This means that this person of interest needs to be and should be released. It is unfortunate that this person’s name was leaked to the public, and it’s hard to put that back in the bottle. We will proceed very carefully here, because there is too much at stake for the victims of this horrific crime and their families to take chances with respect to this investigation. Going forward, our team of prosecutors will be working with the Providence Police Department as the principal leads in this investigation. Our resources will be amplified by the state police, the FBI, the ATF, the DEA, the Marshal Service, and others as we develop leads and move toward justice in this case. This could happen very quickly, but it could also take some time.

Governors like Maura Healey of Massachusetts and Gavin Newsom of California are already taking a stand, similar to actions during the first Trump administration. Local leaders are uniting to resist federal government attacks on their communities, focusing on protecting not just immigrants but also dissidents and protesters targeted by Trump. We are actively working with these officials to create a protective barrier around our communities.

I extend my condolences and thoughts and prayers to the families affected by these actions. The mayor stated that we have detained someone of interest, but I respect them to protect the integrity of the investigation. The next process for us is what we do best in our detectives: to coordinate with the prosecutors, to collect evidence, to conduct interviews, and then, from there, when it is appropriate and accurate, to share more details with you all. I’m pleased to say that the mayor stated the collaboration between our federal partners, our different municipalities in the state is all hands on deck. When this is in the city that’s shaken the conscience, we know for a fact that we just step up. And the federal agents, our federal partners, I want to thank them for their assistance, but as well every single municipality, the state police and every other chief in the state. We came together as a small state. It impacted a lot of us, the incident that occurred. And so again, I’m just happy to share with you that we’re in the process now of coordinating with prosecution, conducting interviews and being able to collect evidence so that we can protect the integrity of the investigation and that we can hold the individuals accountable for their actions.

NEW Epstein Files, Trump's Chicago Take Over, Putin & Xi's Hot Mic Moment w/ Jillian Michaels | PBD
Guests: Jillian Michaels
reSee.it Podcast Summary
From leaked Epstein files to a high-profile clash over how history is taught, the episode threads power, media narratives, and accountability into a single conversation. The House committee released 33,295 pages of Jeffrey Epstein related records, including videos from the 2005 Palm Beach investigation and an DOJ interview, with redactions to protect victims. Nancy Mace left the briefing overwhelmed as lawmakers weighed what the victims described as a case far bigger than anticipated, naming rich and powerful people who should face consequences. Jillian Michaels joins the hosts to discuss CNN coverage of slavery and a Smithsonian installation that includes contested exhibits, including a piece about gender testing and sports. The conversation expands into the broader claim that nothing in the installations is solely about slavery, while acknowledging two separate conversations: the ethics of memory and the complexity of history. Amid the Jubilee chatter, there is a push to separate personal experience from political manipulation, with the hosts arguing that stories about the arts and history deserve a fuller, balanced dialogue, not a one-sided retelling. Over the weekend, Chicago faced seven killings and 54 shootings, prompting the discussion of federal help and the possible deployment of National Guard. Governor Pritzker resisted such a move while President Trump joked about the situation and later urged action, arguing that big cities face crime and must address it. The debate widened to the political tactic of calling for cross-state partnerships, and the hosts explored Pritzker’s reactions, as well as Mayor Brandon Johnson’s stance. In parallel, a CBS poll suggested Cuomo could beat Mamani in a New York City mayoral matchup if other candidates dropped out, with Cuomo leading 52% to 41%. The panel reflected on how the race could hinge on affordability and governance, and they discussed the possibility that Trump’s endorsements, media narratives, and public appearances shape the race. As the Jubilee segment delved into education, media, and the purpose of elections, the conversation circled back to accountability and the role of leadership in keeping communities safe.
