This violence contradicts our faith and the teachings of the Bible. The government's announcement of military force against citizens was horrifying and dehumanizing. When the president held up a Bible outside our church, it misappropriated scripture and our sacred space. While there have been incidents of vandalism at St. John's, they should not overshadow the urgent need for justice and reform in how we treat people of color. Buildings can be repaired, but we cannot bring back lives lost to police violence. Black lives matter, and our faith drives us to advocate for equal justice for all.

Buildings can be repaired, but lives lost to police violence cannot be restored. Black lives matter, and our faith calls us to seek justice for all.
