I am honored to receive this award from an organization celebrating its 50th anniversary, which has significantly contributed to America's democratic legacy through its pursuit of equality. It is a privilege to be a citizen of this great republic, recognizing our heritage as descendants of millions who came here seeking new opportunities. You held accountable those who assaulted law enforcement officers defending the Capitol that day. Your commitment to justice was unwavering, guided solely by the facts and the law. I am proud of the work you accomplished and the manner in which you executed it.

I am proud to be the first black woman to serve as the 1st Vice President alongside a black President and the first black woman in the Supreme Court. Together, in the United States of America, there is nothing we cannot achieve.
