Ive been asked about this by multiple people Ive attended multiple seminars by Brian Carroll, he's actually a friend ive known for a decade now This "method" is not secretive so much as its simply uncommon McGill makes the point that for developing strength, which is maximizing neuromuscular innervation, you can get a training effect by doing ONE rep at a time This is a form of cluster training. Cluster training has strong enough (My own Strength-Muscle-Power Program is a cluster set based program) Pullups are a heavy enough exercise that you can achieve 100% muscle activation (this would not work for a lighter weight movement) So rather than do sets to fatigue, which leads to a decline in Rate of Force development and recruitment You do LOTS of sets in instead, with all the sets being fast and explosive Do ENOUGH sets this way, and you can get a strength/muscle stimulus Doing one rep at a time, you would want to do at least 10 sets. Hypothetically you could up to 20 or 30 if you wanted to -If you read all that and youre just confused...stick with doing regular sets. This is one of those methods that you have to know how to apply it and its not necessarily brain dead simple if you lack the context
