These men saw so much death, nobody could blame them for being nihilistic. Yet somehow, they never lost their humanity. They understood the enemy is still a human being. & once the fighting stops, you let the hard feelings go. Men of honor, really.

The people taking down the Reconciliation Monument are savages. They don't know anything about honor. They have little humanity. They'll piss on graves if they can get away w/it. They'll dig up the bodies of their own ancestors if it means they get to be part of the ruling class.
