BREAKING | The @CPC_HQ has shared with Baaz a letter from @PierrePoilievre to the BCGC & OGC, written in response to their open letter from September raising concerns with transnational repression, as well as the CPC's response to allegations against India. "While @JustinTrudeau has made statements and told the public that he is taking this issue seriously, he has taken none of the action necessary to ensure that Canadians are protected and those responsible for these crimes are punished," Poilievre writes, calling on the government to share more information with Canadians, increase transparency around the investigation into the murder of Nijjar, and implement a foreign influence registry. Poilievre shares he agrees with the Gurdwaras concerns over intelligence and security failures surrounding Nijjar's assassination. "I will defend the right of everyone in Canada to peacefully express any opinion and support any political cause without fear or danger of reprisal," Poilievre adds.

BREAKING | Washington Post is reporting that charges against a Nikhil Gupta will be lodged by federal American prosecutors for a "murder-for-hire plot targeting Gurpatwant Singh Pannun", a US citizen who leads SFJ, the organization behind the Khalistan Referendum. "Gupta allegedly conspired with a number of others, at least one of whom is believed to be an official in India," WaPo reports. "The discovery of a plot to assassinate a Sikh separatist on U.S. soil earlier this year so concerned the Biden administration that it dispatched its top two intelligence officials to New Delhi," the Washington Post published. "CIA Director William J. Burns flew to India in August and Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines followed in October," to demand that the Indian government investigate their role in the assassination attempt and hold those responsible accountable. The plan to kill Pannun was thwarted by American authorities "shortly after" Canada's Hardeep Singh Nijjar was assassinated in Surrey, Canada. Trudeau had shared in Parliament that Canadian intelligence believes that India was behind Nijjar's assassination. Intel from Five Eye allies was used by Canada to make those allegations. "...U.S. lawmakers have become increasingly concerned about what they see as an audacious campaign of transnational repression by India of Sikh separatists in North America," WaPo shares .

US officials have raised concerns of India's plot to assassinate an American Sikh on US soil & Indian officials responded with "surprise and concern." WaPo reported, quoting a US official, that the "Indian government is 'further investigating this issue' and probably will have more to say about it in the coming days." National Security Council spokeswoman Adrienne Watson added that America has "conveyed our expectation that anyone deemed responsible should be held accountable." The revelations may put India's purchase of 31 armed MQ-9B SeaGuardian drones from the US in greater jeopardy, as American lawmakers began raising concerns about India's human rights record and other issues. This all comes as Canada continues to call on India to cooperate with investigations into the assassination of Hardeep Singh Nijjar.
