I've noticed that lately, I've been more interested in cruising than commenting on serious matters. However, I came across a post discussing the grudges of the past and how they have influenced current events. The post mentioned a handle justifying Tinubu's alleged theft of the people's mandate by recounting Zik's betrayal of Awolowo. While I found it amusing, I don't understand the logic of hurting oneself for revenge. It's important to note that everyone suffers under a bad government, but it seems that Yorubas are more involved in paid jobs while Igbos are more into business. Therefore, Peter Obi improving the economy would have benefited the Yorubas more, while Tinubu's actions would hurt paid workers. Business people can adjust their prices according to the economy, sometimes even profiting from inflation, while salary increases and palliatives rarely match the impact. This may explain why some teachers have become vocal in their support of the political vendetta against Igbos in Lagos. Ultimately, history should be used for moral lessons rather than holding unnecessary grudges.

These days, I’m more of into cruise than commenting anything serious. Count this as one of the exceptions 🤗 The grudges of the past (re: Abiola & esp Awolowo) led to this, as Ayodeji rightly pointed out. Recently, I saw a Ronu handle supposedly justifying Tinubu’s theft of Nigerians’ mandate freely given to Obi by recounting Zik’s betrayal of Awolowo in the first republic. I laughed. Because, regardless of the veracity of that side of the story, I don’t see how you can hurt yourself in order to exact revenge. Like the IPOB sit at home in the SE 😂😅 It makes zero sense. Everyone suffers in a bad govt, make no mistake. But we do know most Yorubas are into paid jobs while most Igbos are into business. At a rough guess o. Because I no come here to chop statistics 😅😂 So Peter Obi improving the economy would’ve helped the Yorubas more than the Igbos, or at least helped everyone equally. On the other hand, Tinubu implementing his age-long ambition to ‘shrink the economy, widen the tax net and reduce purchasing power’ definitely hurts paid workers more than it hurts business people, who simply adjust their prices according to the economy. A lot of times, business people make more profit during inflation due to market factors. On the other hand, salary increases & palliatives are rarely commensurate. This explains why the lesson teachers have suddenly become epistle writers. Also explains why they support the political vendetta against Igbos in Lagos, which is actually designed to distract them from the reality described in the foregoing 🤷🏽‍♂️ Lesson: history is more for moral lessons than for holding unnecessary grudges. Dear Yorubas, Its another day & another company exiting our land I believe it's time we acknowledged the impact of our political decisions since 2015 on our people Aligning with the "North" without assessing the consequences was a mistake that has affected us more negatively
