$68 million Medicaid fraud scheme exposed tied to New York’s Medicaid home care program. Republicans asked for an audit of this program but Gov. Hochul refused and said she’s got any issues handled. In other words, Hochul doesn’t want America to know how many illegals are using this program to defraud New York like Somalis defrauded Minnesota under Tim Walz. (Newsnation on YT)

Two scammers pled guilty to a $68,000,000 fraud scheme tied to the state's Medicaid home care program. The crooks billed for millions in services that they never provided, in a case linked to the CDPAP program, which allows people who need care to hire their own caregiver through Medicaid, choosing a friend or relative as long as they go through the process. News Nation reports that two New Yorkers pled guilty to a involving large-scale recruiters who bribed patients with laundered cash and billed Medicaid over $68,000,000 for services that were not provided. This follows a separate million-dollar-plus conviction announced by New York Attorney General Letitia James this week, still tied to fake billing and kickback schemes within the state's Medicaid program. CDPAP, the Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program, is described as meant to make care easier for loved ones at home rather than in nursing homes, but is targeted by sophisticated scammers. Attorney John Flynn explains that while CDPAP is for people who need care, it’s become a target for scammers; the program’s intent is good, but bad people are taking advantage of federal and state money. The article notes that fraud in the CDPAP program is not new. In 2018, a man arranged for friends and family members to be paid as home caregivers for his sick mom, only to discover his mom was living in Bangladesh; during home inspections, his brother impersonated her to keep the fraud going. In 2024, Governor Kathy Hochul called CDPAP a “racket” and described it as one of the most abused programs in New York’s history. News Nation asked the governor’s office for comment on the recent fraud charges; a spokesperson said she has taken steps to fix the system by cutting out hundreds of middlemen. The governor’s office also cited Letitia James’s transportation company bust as an example of efforts to stop this kind of crime. The report notes that when Republicans asked for an audit of the CDPAP program in New York, supporters called it a political stunt, arguing that measures are already in place. Amid ongoing fraud, the narrative references a broader effort, including President Donald Trump announcing a new division to combat crimes like this. Natasha and Lea Lando are reporting on this developing story from New York. Lea Lando is live in Manhattan with the latest.

Speaker 0: Two scammers pleading guilty to a $68,000,000 fraud scheme tied to the state's Medicaid home care program. The crooks billed for millions in services that they never provided. And unfortunately, it's not the only million dollar scam recently exposed. News nation's Lea Lando live in Manhattan tonight with the very latest. What are we learning on this? Speaker 1: Yes, Natasha, we've been looking into this just this past week as you mentioned two big cases in court involving millions of dollars in kickbacks and fraudulent billing to Medicaid. We're talking about another notable case tonight that involves a program called CDPAP. Now, you're not familiar with that, it is for people who need to be cared for, but they don't want to go to a nursing home. So through Medicaid, they can hire their own caretaker. They get to choose if it's a friend or a relative as long as they go through the process. And while it sounds good, is also a big target for scammers. Speaker 2: This is a program that is put in place to help care for people at their home instead of having them go in nursing homes. Speaker 1: Attorney John Flynn says while New York's consumer directed personal assistance program or CDPAP is meant to make things easier for loved ones who need care, it's also become the target of sophisticated scammers. Speaker 2: The the actual program itself is for a good cause, but you have bad people out there who are taking advantage of federal and state money. Speaker 1: Just this past week, two New Yorkers pled guilty to a $68,000,000 fraud scheme tied to CDPAP billing Medicaid for services at Brooklyn based adult daycares that never actually happened. These fraudsters were, quote, large scale recruiters who bribed patients with laundered cash and billed Medicaid over 68,000,000 for services that were not provided. New York attorney general Letitia James announcing a separate million dollar plus conviction this week also involving fake billing and kickback schemes tied to the state's Medicaid program. Unfortunately for the state's CDPAP program, fraud is nothing new. Back in 2018, a man arranged for friends and family members to be paid as home caregivers for his sick mom. Later, investigators found out that his mom wasn't even in the country. She was living in Bangladesh. And during home inspections, his brother impersonated her to keep the fraud going. Back in 2024, governor Kathy Hochul calling CDPAP a, quote, racket in one of the most abused programs in the entire history of the state of New York. News Nation reached out to the governor's office for comment on the recent fraud charges, and a spokesperson for the governor tells me she has, quote, taken steps to fix the system by cutting out hundreds of middlemen. Yet the fraud continues. Natasha, the governor's office telling me that that one example of Leticia James busting the transportation company owner is an example of efforts to stop this kind of crime from happening. And when Republicans asked for an audit of the CDPAP program here in New York, hopeful calling that a political stunt saying there are already measures in place. Clearly, a lot of government funded programs are the target of scammers and, of course, president Donald Trump announcing recently that new division to combat crimes like this. Natasha. Two voices, Speaker 0 and Speaker 1, erupt in a heated argument filled with confrontation, insults, and conflicting accusations. Speaker 0 insists he did not assault anybody and denies any wrongdoing, repeatedly accusing others of criminal behavior and bullying. He berates the others as “piece of shit,” “fat bucks,” and “bunch of fucking pussies,” while predicting that they will die a “sad fucking lonely death.” He claims, “Arresting American citizens” and says, “You slam it on him,” denying that he slammed the door. He asserts that “you guys are abducting people off the streets” and challenges the group to meet him, asking for a street wave and directing them to a location. Speaker 1 challenges Speaker 0, urging him to avoid assault and to provide clarification on what just happened. He notes that they “exited here” and that they are “around you guys.” He and Speaker 0 discuss their location: “ Sheridan and Belmont. Sheridan and Belmont. We’re on the corner,” specifying the intersection to reach them. He asks for patience, saying “Hold on. Stand by.” He reports surrounding actions and voices concern about the confrontation, emphasizing they will soon be in contact with each other and that they are near the other party. The exchange grows more acrimonious as Speaker 0 continues to threaten and insult, telling the other party to tell a Facebook group where they are “Camping out like a bunch of buck bunch of fucking pussies.” He repeats the charge that others are “arresting American citizens” and asserts that the situation is not assault, while Speaker 1 maintains it could be considered assault “at the next stoplight.” The dialogue reveals a tense, personal clash, with Speaker 0 attacking the other side’s families and immigration background: “All your families came from different fucking countries.” As the tension escalates, both speakers exchange directions and indications of where they are relative to the others. Speaker 0 directs a left turn at various landmarks, asking, “Where do I turn? I turn left, turn left, right, turn left,” and acknowledges the need to communicate their location to the other group. The dialogue ends with continued dispute over the events, the concept of assault, and where each party should proceed, punctuated by raw insults and threats. The exchange centers on alleged abduction and assault, the fear of being targeted by authorities, and the urge to confront the other group at a nearby intersection near Sheridan and Belmont.

Video Transcript AI Summary
The discussion centers on accusations about government actions and the handling of whistleblowers. Speaker 0 argues that the FBI is examining the situation “to chill speech” and to silence Democratic members of Congress and other elected leaders who speak out against Trump. According to Speaker 0, the motive is to stop them from speaking out. Speaker 1 pushes back by asking for clarification, wondering what exactly should be stopped. The question arises: “Stop what?” and “you’re saying that you believe that inherent in the video is that Donald Trump has given illegal orders.” Speaker 0 responds that he will speak about Congress’s role in whistleblower protections, noting that there have been whistleblowers in the Biden administration as well as in past administrations. He emphasizes that Congress has a responsibility to ensure that whistleblowers inside the federal government and the military have protections, wherever they are located in government. Speaker 1 suggests that the message might be read as Democrats encouraging the military to defy the commander in chief over current orders that cannot be named, but Speaker 0 contests this reading, implying a misinterpretation of the message. In trying to clarify, Speaker 0 states: “Here's what I believe. I believe that regardless of the president, no one in our military should actually follow through with unconstitutional orders.” He asserts this as his belief, though he concedes uncertainty about other specifics: “I’m saying regardless. I don’t know. Regardless of justice. I’m not. I’m not understanding.” Throughout, the exchange centers on the tension between protecting whistleblowers and the implications of political messaging about the president and military obedience. Speaker 0 maintains that Congress must safeguard whistleblower protections across federal government and military contexts, citing the Biden administration as an example and noting similar protections have occurred in other administrations. Speaker 1 probes the interpretation of the video and the intent behind messages that might appear to call for disobeying orders or challenging the president, while Speaker 0 reiterates a belief in the obligation to refuse unconstitutional orders, independent of which president is in office.

Speaker 0: The only reason that the FBI is even looking into this is to chill speech. That's exactly what it is. He wants these people to stop. He wants to he wants other members of congress to potentially he wants to silence Democratic members of congress and other elected leaders on speaking out against Trump. When it comes to Speaker 1: Wait. Can I ask you a question? Stop what? You said they want them to stop. Stop what? Speaker 0: They want them to stop speaking out. Speaker 1: So you said speaking out against Trump. So you're saying that you believe that inherent in the video is that Donald Trump has given illegal orders. Speaker 0: No. Actually, what I will say about Speaker 1: because what I'm arguing is is that they're just stating a fact, but you're saying it's speaking against Trump. Speaker 0: But because they speak Speaker 1: out against Trump. Then you took the message the way they intended it. You took it the way they intended it, which is that Trump has given illegal orders, and you can't name one and nobody else can. Speaker 0: Hold on. Let me just say that. Congress has a role in ensuring that there are whistleblower protections when people come out to the something I'm not saying there is. I'm saying in the Biden administration. Okay. I'm saying in the Biden administration, there were whistleblowers. In other administrations, there have been whistleblowers. And what happens, it's congress's responsibility to ensure that these people have protections wherever you are in the federal government and whether you're in our military. This has happened throughout administration, and they believe, if they have reason to believe, that there is something to get a Speaker 1: bunch on this. Change. I put a Speaker 0: on this. Believe that Speaker 1: you believe that be able to move forward I hear you. Speaker 0: And talk about Speaker 1: on it. You believe that it is that you took the message. Democrats are encouraging the military to defy the commander in chief over some current orders that you can't name, but you're pretty sure they're not. Speaker 0: Here's what I believe. I believe that regardless of the president, no one should no one in our military should actually follow through with unconstitutional orders. That's what I believe. I'm saying regardless. I don't know. Regardless of justice. I'm not. I'm not understanding.

I didn't realize how deeply troubling the liberal response to the Charlie Kirk situation was until now. It makes me uncomfortable to think about sharing a planet with people who can't engage in political discourse with a center-right figure. I've faced real racism, and while I don't wish harm on anyone, it's disheartening to see such a lack of understanding. I believe conservatives possess more heart and soul than many realize, and it's frustrating to witness this divide in our society.

ABC is running cover for suspected illegals who are accused of trying to run a car over CBP agents on Saturday morning in San Bernardino, California. The illegals were stopped and refused to comply with law enforcement. The car window was then broken and the illegals drove away aggressively. These illegals all need deportation.

Martin says this morning his father-in-law and 18-year-old son-in-law were in a vehicle surrounded by unmarked cars and masked men. 'They hopped out with their pistols already drawn. Then they proceeded to ask us to lower the window and open the doors.' The agents did not identify themselves; the car remained locked as they urged them out. Three gunshots were heard; bullets hit the door but did not penetrate. The family filed a report; FBI contact was denied, and it became an hours-long standoff with federal agencies. DHS said during a vehicle stop, the subject refused to exit and tried to run CBP officers down, saying he struck two officers with his vehicle and that one officer had to discharge a firearm in self defense. Speaker 0: Martin says he was working with his father-in-law and 18 year old son-in-law this morning when their vehicle was suddenly surrounded by unmarked cars and masked men. Speaker 1: They hopped out with their pistols already drawn. Then they proceeded to ask us to lower the window and open the doors. Speaker 0: Martin stresses they asked, but masked agents did not identify themselves. They stay in the locked car as agents insist they come out. Moments later, they shatter two windows. Hey. Speaker 1: Hey. You can't do that. Once the glasses were shattered, my father-in-law feared for his life from his perspective. And so he he I guess the car was already in drive, so he drove the vehicle away from where those those agents were at. Speaker 0: Three gunshots can be heard. Speaker 1: Thank god the the bullets didn't go through the truck. They just they went in they just got stuck into the door, but they were aimed at my brother-in-law who was in the, passenger front. Speaker 0: The family sought the help of San Bernardino police who arrived at their home. Speaker 1: We made a report with them. They told us FBI wasn't gonna contact with us. Speaker 0: They say instead it turned into an hours long standoff with several federal agencies showing up at their home. They say this officer seen pulling out a weapon during the vehicle stop is the same person who fired the gunshots. Speaker 1: He said that he didn't shoot, sorry, that, those three shots were him tapping on the glass. But we have bullet holes in the side of the vehicle now. Speaker 0: The Department of Homeland Security released a statement saying in part that during a vehicle stop, a subject refused to exit his vehicle and tried to run CBP officers down, saying he struck two officers with his vehicle and that one officer had to discharge his firearm in self defense. The video we reviewed does not show the driver trying to run the officers down. The agency did not answer our questions about why the driver was stopped or whether the agents had an administrative or judicial warrant. Community groups are calling for accountability. Speaker 2: It seems there's to be like a lot of impunity, and this might be again one of the cases where we can bring forward to courts and say this is what's happening, right, when you let loose an administration and an agency to just basically create their own rules. Speaker 0: Annabel Munoz, ABC seven Eyewitness News.

Gov. Greg Abbott says Texas Democrats who took money to abandon their jobs are facing bribery charges. These Dems have until 3 PM on Monday to return to their posts or they’ll lose their positions in the Texas House and be prosecuted. Major FAFO moment. https://t.co/WJwVCr5vzv

Video Transcript AI Summary
A Texas legislator states that lawmakers who left the state may have committed felonies, specifically bribery. The claim is that these legislators sought or offered money to skip a vote, leave the legislature, or take a legislative act. This could lead to bribery charges, a second-degree felony in Texas. However, the legislator says that they can avoid charges if they return to Texas and make a quorum at a 3:00 hearing. This action would cure any quid pro quo that could subject them to potential bribery charges.
Full Transcript
Speaker 0: Said in your statement that you put out today to all of them in a letter to them, you said in addition to abandoning their offices, these legislators may also have committed felonies. What is the felony? What are the penalties for this? Speaker 1: So very simply, it would be bribery, if any lawmaker, took money to perform or to refuse to perform, an act in the legislature. And, the reports are, these legislators have been both they sought money and they offered money to skip the vote, to leave the legislature, to take a legislative act. That would be bribery. So the facts will have to come out. But, I think based upon comments made by legislators themselves, they face a a possibility of facing bribery charges, which is a second degree felony in the state of Texas. There's one way to cure that. And and that is, if they get back to the state of Texas and make quorum today, at a hearing that we have at the 03:00, they can cure themselves of any quid pro quo that would subject them to potential bribery charges. Speaker 0: Alright.

Social media posts often present an incomplete or misrepresented version of events, hindering thorough investigations and law enforcement. This distortion of content, amplified by both social and mainstream media, complicates understanding the actual circumstances. Irresponsible social media practices frequently showcase only one perspective, lacking context and factual background. This leads to the rapid spread of misinformation, creating challenges for managing investigations and establishing an accurate account of events.

Speaker 0: Social media, the post that we've seen does not depict the entire incident. That is one version of what occurred. At times, social media and mainstream media and their commentaries are misrepresentation of the circumstances surrounding any given event. What that does, that causes us some difficulties in thoroughly investigating the activity and enforcing the law. Because what happens that social media post and your coverage of it? Distorts the content of what actually happened. And it makes our job more difficult. Go ahead right here. Thank Two questions. Where were the nearest officers? In the central business section they were working. They were both in vehicles, and like I said, they had to maneuver through the traffic. Second question is you had said social media news media distorted the content of what actually happened. What exactly was distorted? I understand that there was one multiple views of the video, but exactly what led up to this? I mean, what was distorted? So I think by. The irresponsibility with social media is it just shows one side of the equation quite frequently without context, without factual context, and then people run with that and then it grows legs and it becomes something bigger that we then have to try to manage as part of the investigation.

The secret of life lies hidden in the genetic code. Genes determine individual characteristics and pass them to future generations. Occasionally, conditions produce a structural change in the gene, bringing about evolution. This may occur through selective mating, where a single gene type proves superior in transmitting its genes. Gene drift can also cause certain genes to fade while others persist. Natural selection filters out genes better equipped to endure in the environment. This may result in the origin of an entirely new species, which brings us to Calvin's and the survival of the fittest. Calvin Klein jeans.

An investigation uncovered intentional corruption involving bribes paid to skip safety evaluations for driver's licenses. Five individuals were arrested for brokering illegal transactions, funneling individuals from as far as Miami to fraudulently obtain licenses. Hundreds, possibly over a thousand, fraudulent licenses were issued in the scheme, ongoing for over two years. Over $120,000 in illicit proceeds were seized. Those arrested include tax collector employees Bansalei Velazu and Demetrius Smith, along with intermediaries Nirbus Rosales, Leonardo Gutierrez, Hung Du, Isbredia Perra, and Zola Gonzalez Pena. Myrna Fernandez was arrested for unlawful possession of a driver's license. The investigation is expanding statewide to identify those who received licenses illegally. Each fraudulent license could result in felony charges. The Attorney General stated the Biden border policy puts American families at risk and asks DMV offices to look for signs of corruption. A new program in Florida will protect ICE agents from doxing. Florida will shut down violent demonstrations quickly.

Speaker 0: Shortcuts. These were intentional acts of corruption where individuals paid bribes in exchange for skipping critical safety evaluations. The investigation also allowed us to arrest five additional individuals who are acting as brokers running local business that claim to assist with immigration paperwork, but instead arranged illegal transactions and funneled aliens from as far away as Miami to obtain licenses fraudulently. Let me be clear that putting untested, unqualified drivers, especially those with commercial licenses on our roads, is an unacceptable risk to every family in this state. These licenses were essentially sold, not earned. That means we have individuals on the road possibly operating tractor trailers who never demonstrated the basic skills to do so safely. It's not a paperwork issue. It's a direct threat to highway safety and a betrayal of the public public trust. The scope of this investigation, yesterday, we seized over a 120,000 in illicit proceeds tied to this operation. Evidence suggests that hundreds, if not more than a thousand fraudulent driver's license were issued as part of this scheme. It's been ongoing for over two years, and as con this investigation is continuing to be ongoing and will expand statewide as we work to identify those who receive licenses illegally and hold all parties accountable. Each license issued could result in felony criminal charges for the license holder, and our investigation will be expanded by our state partners to hold these individuals accountable. A search warrant was executed yesterday at a business in Callaway called Cubamax, which is involved in processing immigration documents. Again, I wanna commend the outstanding teamwork and partnership of our investigators. And it's a multi agency effort with close coordination between law enforcement, the tax collector's office, and other state and local partners. This is the kind of teamwork it takes to root out corruption and protect our citizens. I'd also like to commend our tax collector, Chuck Purdue. As soon as he was made aware of this investigation, he became invest an investigator himself. He worked with us closely to make sure that these individuals were held accountable. Certainly a difficult situation when individuals in your office choose to do the wrong thing, but the important part is that we hold them accountable when we do that. So, Chuck, thank you for for your efforts. So we wanna talk about the individuals that we arrested. The tax collector employees are Bansalei Velazu, age 37 of Panama City, charged with nine counts of DMV, employee issuing a fraudulent ID, which is a felony, and nine nine nine counts of official misconduct. Demetrius Smith the second, aged 30 of Panama City, on eight counts on of the DMV issuing a fraudulent ID and eight counts of official misconduct. And additional charges are anticipated as each fraud fraudulent driver's license can result in additional charges. The intermediaries that we arrested, who were the individuals that the aliens would would contact, and they would be referred to the our two, tax collector employees were a Nirbus Rosales, aged 37. She was arrested on 24 counts of principal to d m a DMV fraud and 24 counts as a principal to official misconduct. Leonardo Leonardo Gutierrez, aged 32 of Panama City, seven counts of principal to DL fraud and seven counts of official misconduct. Hung Du, aged 58 of Panama City on 36 counts of principal to fraud and 36 counts of official misconduct. Isbredia Perra, age 44, Panama City, seven counts of principal to DL fraud and seven counts of principal to official misconduct. Zola Gonzalez Pena, age 38, 12 counts. Also arrested but not identified as operating as a intermediary was Myrna Fernandez of Panama City on a charge of unlawful possession of a driver's license. It's believed that Fernandez obtained her driver's license fraudulently yesterday, paying to receive a passing grade on her exam and the skills exam. But to those who think that they can compromise public safety for profit, know this, we will find you. We will bring you to justice. And to the people of Bay County, I want you to know we are committing to preserving the integrity of our institutions and the safety of our roads. Thank you, and I now like to turn it over to our attorney general. Speaker 1: Thank you, sheriff. It's good to be in Bay County. This county is certainly blessed to have great law enforcement and leaders. I commend the sheriff and tax collector Chuck Purdue on working so well with, state law enforcement, homeland security, and and all of our law enforcement partners to ensure that we could we could bust these guys. I think today is yet another example of how the Biden border policy puts American families at risk. Here you've got hundreds of of aliens that are cheating, that are breaking the law, that are buying driver's licenses, without taking the test, getting on the roads, putting everybody in danger. So, you know, if there's any silver lining to come out of this terrible, you know, discovery, it's that law enforcement worked very well together, continued to follow the breadcrumbs, and ultimately uncovered, you know, pretty widespread and advanced operation. So we know what happened here. If it happened here, there's a good chance it could be happening in a county somewhere else. So I ask our DMV offices or tax collectors around the state, pay attention, do a deep dive, look out for, you know, any signs of somebody taking cash on the side to help criminal aliens get driver's licenses. Maybe that can happen in California, but not here in Florida. We are a rule of law state, and we will do everything we can to work with the Trump administration and our federal partners to enforce the law. We've been working up and down the state, ensuring that we're keeping people safe. We were in Brevard County earlier this morning where we highlighted a new program, to protect the ICE agents and the federal authorities that are coming into our state to enforce the law. In California, you've got leftist groups out there, that wanna reveal personal information. They wanna dox agents. If you don't understand this word, if it's new to you, doxing is when you reveal personal identifying information with the purpose of intimidating, threatening, distracting from official duties. We want these guys here. They're protecting our families. And while they protect our families, we're gonna protect theirs. So we've set up this new program where ICE and federal authorities can work with our troopers. And if there's any evidence of personal information getting out, we wanna know. We'll ensure that we're doing routine checkups and get a detail to protect the agents and their families. As we go into the weekend, I know there's been, you know, some rumblings about protests and demonstrations. We've all seen the horror in California with the destruction, the violence, the flames, the anti American behavior. That doesn't happen here. In Florida, rioting is illegal. If you throw something, if you obstruct roadways, if you wanna cause damage or harm to law enforcement, businesses, or our citizens, we will find you and we will put you away for a long time. So to put everybody on notice, if you wanna participate in, you know, peaceful free speech, nobody respects that more than we do. If you wanna cause damage and destruction and engage in these violent demonstrations, we will shut it down fast. So, again, a big thank you, to the law enforcement here. Thanks to the sheriff for a very good job well done. Thanks to our federal partners.

An undocumented immigrant who came to the U.S. from Mexico at age seven or eight and has lived in Costa Mesa for eighteen years believes the ICE raids are "nonsense" and "ridiculous." He questions whether seeking work at Home Depot to feed one's family is a crime. He says bringing in the National Guard and Marines to support ICE raids is wrong, and that even his friends in the military agree. He knows people directly affected by the raids, and the lack of people at Home Depot looking for work is evidence of that. He is worried about being grabbed, but doesn't want to show it, because running would make him look like a criminal. If he is grabbed, he says he will find a way to come back, because he wants to provide for his family in Mexico, buying them medicine and food they can't afford. He says he's not angry because he came to America for the American dream and freedom of speech, but that no longer exists. He asks not to be treated like an animal.

Standing at Home Depot and looking for work to feed our family? Is that a crime? Is that our crime to feed our family? It's not. We're just trying to provide. Speaker 1: How do you feel about Donald Trump now not only instigating it with the raids, with ICE raids, but also bringing in the US National Guard, bringing in the US marines to support those ICE raids? It's wrong. Speaker 0: It's wrong, honestly. I have friends that they're in the marines. I have friends that they're in the army, and they even tell me it's wrong. But since we're under the oath, we have to do it. It's in order. Speaker 1: Do you know people who've been affected directly by the raids? Speaker 0: Oh, yeah. Obviously, which is my friends here. As you can see, it's empty. I don't have papers, and I'm still here risking my life in order to provide myself to have a roof, like I said. Speaker 1: Are you worried about being grabbed? Speaker 0: I am, but I can't show that. I don't wanna show that. Because if they come and if I run, they're gonna think I'm a criminal when I'm not. Speaker 1: What if you get grabbed? Speaker 0: That is what it is. Right? Because, man, that's what we say. It is what it is. But we're gonna find a way to come back because we decided to be here because we wanna provide our family in Mexico. We wanna buy which is a medicines that they can buy. We wanna buy them the food that they can't really buy. What's in your heart right now? I don't feel angry cause we decided to come here because it's America. Right? It's the American dream. It's the freedom of speech. The amendment, there's no longer that no more. Speaker 1: Anything else you wanna say about what's happening in this country right now? I think that their job was to make folks who voted for that bill feel like crap, and I think that they succeeded. Speaker 1: Over in the senate, a similar situation unfolded. Senate majority leader Erin Murphy forced to vote for a bill she too disagreed with to uphold the integrity of their compromise. Speaker 0: This one hurt. This one is a wound because of its reason. My colleagues across the aisle set this as their number one priority. Speaker 1: Asked whether the move would drive a wedge between her and the rest of her caucus, her DFL colleague, senator John Marty, quickly stepped to her defense. Speaker 2: As a member of the caucus Yes, sir. She clearly was fighting against that every step of the way. In negotiations, if we wanted a budget, we had to agree to that. She agreed to put up one vote for us because of that. Speaker 1: Reporting in Saint Paul, I'm Quinn Gorham.

Anti-ICE protesters throw their bodies on the front of an ICE vehicle, and hit the hood with their hands, as the vehicle leaves an ICE detention facility in NJ. A chunky screaming protester with a shaved head gets pushed to the ground. She gets up, touches another vehicle, and gets pushed off that one as well. She and all the obstructionists need to be arrested and jailed.

President Trump talks about Elon Musk. The media will try to take what he said here and turn it into a big deal. It’s not. I trust both Trump and Elon. I don’t think either men are the problem. You want to know who the real problem is? Congress. https://t.co/SMjLSZWFlb

The speaker claims to have had a great relationship with Elon, but is now disappointed. He believes Elon only developed a problem with the "great big beautiful bill" after the EV mandate was cut, which Elon knew about and initially supported. The speaker says the CBO, which is run by Democrats, projects a $2.8 trillion surplus over ten years if tariff revenue is included. He touts low inflation, down to 2%, and falling grocery and gasoline prices. He also claims the U.S. now has the best border in history with a 99.99% success rate. He speculates that people who leave his administration miss the "glamour" and become hostile, possibly due to "Trump derangement syndrome." He suggests that Elon may be experiencing something similar.

Speaker 0: Elon and I had a great relationship. I don't know if we're well anymore. I was surprised because you were here. Everybody in this room practically was here as we had a wonderful send off. He said wonderful things about me. You couldn't have nicer, said the best thing. He's worn the hat. Trump was right about everything. And I am right about the the great big beautiful bill. We call it a great big beautiful bill because that's what it is. And, again, biggest tax cuts in history, biggest economic development moves anywhere. We've never done anything like it. Business is spurred. And I don't know if you've seen the numbers, but the numbers came out. Even the CBO, which is run by Democrats, said that we're gonna be, doing you know, I'd like you to discuss it, the 2,800,000,000.0 a trillion that CBO. This is some a group of people that are Democrats. They're very hostile to us. They just came out with phenomenal numbers what it does. You wanna mention that, Scott? Speaker 1: Yes, sir. So what what we've seen is we keep hearing from the CBO that there's going to, be a large deficit from the bill, which we disagree with. But using the CBO scoring, they came out and scored the tariff revenue. We think it'll be the minimum of 2,800,000,000,000.0 over the ten year window, which actually puts the bill in surplus if you include the tariff revenue, which they won't do. Speaker 0: It gives you a tremendous surplus, but we're not allowed to use that. For some reason, they say scoring. Nobody knows what scoring means. Maybe a couple of people, but nobody. Somebody sits in the background, they say, well, we're not gonna allow that. They're not allowing other things that we have that are tremendously profitable for our country. But if you saw the other day, CNBC, they came out with, numbers and the people on the show, very good people. I've watched them for a long time. They couldn't believe the numbers, how good they are. The numbers were incredible. And that was personal income and also very low inflation. We have very low inflation. We're down to 2% now and maybe even lower than that. And when I took it over, was a mess. Remember, we had the worst inflation probably in the history of our country. They say forty eight years, but let's say that's I think it's worse than that. So we had the worst inflation in the history of our country under the Biden administration. Now we're down to beautiful number, 2%. We'd actually like to keep it there. Better than zero is 2%. It's going down maybe to 1% is like perfect. That's perfect. You don't wanna have zero for certain reasons that are that nobody is very interested to listen to, But we have almost perfect inflation. Grocery prices are down. Everything remember eggs eggs. We weren't gonna buy another egg for the next twenty years. It was so expensive. Right? Remember? You guys all hit me about eggs. Eggs have down 400%. Everybody has eggs now. They're having eggs for breakfast again. But if you look at, gasoline, very important. I think always the most important because it's the energy is a big the biggest factor. That's what He screwed up our energy policy and everything went up because energy went up. But now energy is way down and, they have states where you're at $1.98 a gallon for gasoline. So the costs have way have come way down. And one of the things I ran on was that. I ran on the border. We have the best border in the history of our country, 99.99%. It was, last week, three people came in. Two of them for medical reasons. We let them in because one of them had a heart attack. I think it was a nice thing to do, and one of them had something else. So we've never had I had very good numbers for four years, but we we really topped it. And I wanna thank Christie and Tom Homan. They've they've done a fantastic job, but nobody mentions that anymore. Remember, a few months ago, the border was a total disaster. People were coming in by the hundreds of thousands of people a day, a week, a month. I mean, we had a month 2,000,000 people came in in one month. The border was being overrun and a lot of bad people, criminals, murderers, drug dealers. We had some of the worst people in the world coming in from all over the world. It's totally closed. And you know what? People are coming into our country, but they're coming in legally. So we've done a great job. Elon knew that. Elon endorsed me very strongly. He actually went up in campaign for me. I think I would have won. Susie would say I would have won Pennsylvania easily anyway, even if the governor ran, the real governor, not the governor from Minnesota who's I mean, he's a sick puppy. That guy that poor guy feels sorry for him. But they they made a bad choice with him. But if you pick Shapiro or anybody else, I spoke to him recently about his, you know, his house being set on fire, which was terrible. But if they picked him, I would have won Pennsylvania. I won it by a lot. But I'm very disappointed because Elon knew the inner workings of this bill better than almost anybody sitting here, better than you people. He knew everything about it. He had no problem with it. All of a sudden, he had a problem, and he only developed the problem when he found out that we're gonna have to cut the EV mandate because that's billions and billions of dollars, and it really is unfair. We wanna have cars of all types. Electric, we wanna have electric, but we wanna have a gasoline combustion. We wanna have different. We wanna have hybrids. We wanna have all we wanna be able to sell everything. And when that was cut, and congress wanted to cut it, he became a little bit different, and I can understand that. But he knew every aspect of this bill. He knew it better than almost anybody, and he never had a problem until right after he left. And if you saw the statements he made about me, which I'm sure you can get very easily, it's very fresh on tape, he said the most beautiful things about me. And he hasn't said bad about me personally, but I'm sure that'll be next. But I'm I'm very disappointed in Elon. I've helped Elon a lot. Speaker 1: Did that answer the president? Did he I just wanna clarify. Did he raise any of these concerns with you privately before he raised them publicly? And this is the guy you put in charge of cutting spending. Should people not take him seriously about spending now? Are you saying this is all sour grapes? Speaker 0: No. He worked hard, and he did a good job. And I'll be honest, think he misses the place. I think he got out there and all of a sudden he wasn't in this beautiful Oval Office and he was and he's got nice offices too. But there's something about this when I was telling the chancellor, this is where it is. People come in here, even from Germany. They come in and they they Germany. Walk into the Oval Office and it's just a special place. It's you know, World War one, it started and it ended here. And World War two and, so many other things. Everything big comes right from this this beautiful space. It's now much more beautiful than it was six months ago. A lot of good things are happening in this room. And I'll I'll tell you, it's not he's not the first. People leave my administration and they love us. And then at some point, they miss it so badly. And some of them embrace it and some of them actually become hostile. I don't know what it is. It's sort of Trump derangement syndrome, I guess they call it. But I we have it with others too. They leave and they wake up in the morning and the glamour's gone. The whole world is different and they become hostile. I don't know what it is. Someday you'll write a book about it and you'll let us know.

Elizabeth Warren eventually “apologized” for insulting Native American tribes after a 1986 state bar association registration emerged that showed she claimed American Indian heritage. So cringe. It ended with a reporter asking if Warren would drop out of the presidential race. https://t.co/0BhnFxhJii

Video Transcript AI Summary
The speaker is questioned about listing as an American Indian on a Texas bar application 30 years ago, despite not being a tribal citizen. The speaker says they learned about their family history from family stories while growing up in Oklahoma, but acknowledges the distinction of tribal citizenship. The speaker denies using this background to get ahead, stating investigations have shown it had no impact on their employment. When asked about other potential documents, the speaker reiterates consistency with their understanding at the time, based on family stories, and apologizes for not being more mindful of tribal citizenship and sovereignty. The speaker has not spoken with Chief Baker since the recent incident but emphasizes the apology is for insensitivity towards tribal citizenship and sovereignty. When asked how voters will react, the speaker says it comes from the heart, is about family, and is an apology for harm caused.

Speaker 0: Why did you list yourself as an American Indian on on this Texas bar application? Speaker 1: So this was about thirty years ago, and, I am not a tribal citizen. Tribes and only tribes determine citizenship. When I was growing up, in Oklahoma, I learned about my family the same way most people do. My brothers and I learned from our mom and our dad and our brothers and our sisters, and those were our family stories. But that said, there really is an important distinction of tribal citizenship. I am not a member of a tribe, and I have apologized for not being more sensitive to that distinction. It's an important distinction. Speaker 0: The president has made the case that you've used this part of your background to get ahead. Are you saying that this is something you fundamentally believed about yourself, or how do you respond to that criticism? This was a a knowing attempt to get ahead by using that claim of ancestry. Speaker 1: So that is a claim that has been fully investigated, and it has now been shown completely that nothing about my background ever had anything to do with any job I got in any place. It's been fully documented and there's no evidence of any kind other than it had nothing to do. My back Speaker 0: and my back nothing to Is there any documents or any more forms like this out there that you have listed yourself as that could come out? Speaker 1: Look. This is who I grew up believing with my brothers. This is our family story, and it's all consistent from that point in time. But as I said, it's important to note, I'm not a tribal citizen, and I should have been more just more mindful of the distinction with tribal citizenship and tribal sovereignty. And that is why I apologize to chief Baker and why I've made a very public apology. Speaker 2: So your senator does that before formally born Speaker 1: with you? Could there be other documents out there with you self identifying as American Indian? So all I know is during this time period, this is consistent with what I did because it was based on my understanding from my family's stories, but family stories are not the same as tribal citizenship. And this is why I have apologized both to chief Baker who was very gracious about it and have apologized. Speaker 2: But senator, this most recent incident just came out yesterday. Have you spoken with him, with chief Baker since this new incident was released? And have you heard from any native American tribes or groups today since that information came out yesterday? Speaker 1: So I haven't spoken with anyone since I saw this information. No. But my apology is an apology for not having been more sensitive about tribal citizenship and tribal sovereignty. I'll I really wanna underline the point. Tribes and only tribes determine tribal citizenship. It is an issue of tribal sovereignty. Speaker 0: How do you think voters will react Speaker 1: to this? I'm sorry? Oh. How do Speaker 0: you think voters will react to this? Speaker 1: You know, I'm I'm sure there are pundits who will have an answer for that. But understand, this is from the heart. This is about my family, my brothers, and it is about an apology from the heart. An apology for not being more sensitive to tribal citizenship and tribal sovereignty, and for harm caused. Speaker 0: Have you considered dropping out of the race?

Speaker 0: Massachusetts senator who's eyeing a 2020 White House run took up the president's challenge, releasing this video showing her receiving the results of a DNA test. What do the facts say? The facts suggest that you absolutely have a native American ancestor in your pedigree. Warren was told she had a native American ancestor in the range of six to 10 generations ago. But tonight, the president is scoffing at the results. Bruce. How much? $11,000? Do you owe her an What about the money that I owe her. She owes the country an apology. Donald Trump and Elon Musk are allegedly working to change Social Security rules to fire government workers and replace them with Trump loyalists. This is purportedly happening specifically at the Social Security Administration, where protections for long-time workers are being removed. The goal is to fire them without justification and flood the agency with loyalists who will continue chaos and benefit cuts. The targeted workers are allegedly those on the front lines, directly helping Americans get their checks. These moves are described as part of Trump and Musk's mission to dismantle Social Security and cut Americans' benefits.

Speaker 0: There's something going on right now with your grandma's Social Security, and it's bad. Donald Trump and Elon Musk are working behind the scenes to change the rules so they can fire government workers and replace them with Trump loyalists. And here's the latest I'm hearing. Doge is specifically doing this at the Social Security Administration. So they're ripping away those protections for long time Social Security workers so they can fire them without much explanation or justification and then flood the agency with even more doge lackeys who will keep up the chaos and cuts to benefits. And here's the kicker. Lots of those workers they're targeting are people that are on the front lines in communities across this country, directly helping Americans get their checks. They're making moves to fire these workers just because they work for you and not for Doge. It's the latest move in Trump and Musk's mission to dismantle Social Security and cut Americans' benefits, and I wanted to fill you in and make sure you know we are not letting them get away with it.

The report on the President's demeanor is claimed to be factually wrong. It's argued that the special counsel faced pressure to criticize since he didn't indict anyone. The special counsel is described as a Republican prosecutor, not a medical doctor, and therefore unqualified to comment on medical matters. It's asserted that had Joe Biden not faltered during a debate, the "charade" would have continued, and he might have won. Even after Biden dropped out, he remained president for six months in the same condition. Despite claims that the special counsel was inaccurate, it's argued he was kind to the president. The reason for not indicting Biden was the belief that a jury would find him unfit for trial. Concerns are raised about trusting someone so forgetful to babysit, questioning whether he was truly running the free world. It's suggested this is the biggest political scandal in our lifetime. Had Biden or Kamala Harris succeeded, the cover-up would have continued. The contrast between Biden's state and Donald Trump's capabilities is highlighted. The regret is not about the lies or the "presidency by committee," but about losing.
Full Transcript
Speaker 0: President's demeanor in that report was characterized could not be more wrong on the facts. Speaker 1: And when you are the first special counsel in history not to indict anybody, there is pressure to criticize and to make, you know, statements that maybe and otherwise you wouldn't make. Speaker 2: Special counsel of her is is as far as I remember is a is a, obviously a a Republican, a a a prosecutor. He's not a he's not a medical doctor. He's just not. It's not for him to speak to. It's flatly wrong. It is inappropriate. It is gratuitous. Speaker 3: Oh, it's so infuriating watching all those clips. It's just unbelievable. You spoke with Town Bevin from Real Clear Politics earlier, and this is what he had to say about it. Speaker 4: And what's most infuriating about this guy is that you know and I know and I think everybody who's watching this show knows, had Joe Biden not fumbled so badly, not failed so badly on that debate stage, the charade would still be going on. The media would have and he might have potentially won. He could be in office right now. Given these circumstances, they would still be lying to us. And by the way, even after he dropped out, he was the president of The United States for six more months in this condition. Speaker 5: You know, I just wanna go back to what Corinne Jean Pierre said in the clip that we played. Oh, Robert Hur is not a doctor. You don't have to be a doctor to listen to this audio or even to read the transcript and say, there's a problem. And that interview took place in 2023, October '20 '20 '3. You saw the montage of Kamala Harris using all these words inaccurate, gratuitous. No. If anything, he was kind. Robert Hur was kind to the president. And when Ian Sams at the White House said, oh, well, he didn't he didn't indict anyone. The reason he didn't indict Joe Biden for clearly violations of the law was because he believed that a jury would find this person to be basically unfit to stand trial. And now listening to the audio, I think it's very hard to disagree with that. Speaker 3: But when you listen to it, you wouldn't trust that person babysitting your kids because you're like, this is a very forgetful person. They might leave the stove on. They might Right. Leave the kids in the car. They might I mean, there's a lot of things that could happen with somebody who's so foggy in his brain. And yet, he was running the free world or was he? Speaker 5: Was he? Speaker 3: And that's the next question. Bevan, by the way, told you, and we all agree, that this is the biggest political scandal, Charlie, in our lifetime. Speaker 6: Well, and and Tom makes the most important point, which is that had had Biden succeeded, had all those people the White House succeeded at this cover up, and it and he had gotten reelected, of course, nobody would be talking about this right now. But but also had Kamala Harris won, we wouldn't all be talking about Speaker 3: this Speaker 6: right It would they would keep the charade going. Speaker 3: And also the contrast is so interesting. You see that, you hear that, and then you look at what Donald Trump is doing. It's remarkable. The amount of balls he has up in the air, managing the Middle East, managing Ukraine, going here, going there, you know, all the cabinet members fully engaged. It's just unbelievable. And you go, what was happening in this country during that time? Speaker 5: And they don't regret the lies. They don't regret the presidency by committee. They regret losing.

Once I was notified about the escapees, I immediately gathered a team of experienced staff and we started calling victims and survivors just to make sure that they are aware of what was going on and that they are safe. For the records that had no information, I immediately reach out to our partners. Partners such as NOPD Special Victims Unit, Detective Walton, who was very grateful in helping us and she provide us with other information that we were able to call those families and help them as well. Once we finish the first batch of victims, we started calling the second batch and actually the reason why I'm saying that is because I separated them. The chief from the DA's office victims, Alison McGuire reached out to me and we both were calling victims. What she had and I did not have, we shared information and we both gather all the information and we made sure all victims were aware of what was going on. Most of the victims were very grateful for the cause. They graciously thank us. We additionally sent our detectives to their homes for more safety measures. And that alone speak measures. The public is urged to remain alert and contact law enforcement with any information, but not to engage or approach the escapees. A full investigation has been launched. It's quite possible that that escapee that's been taken into custody might be taken back into this area here at OJC. As you just mentioned, one captured still on the loose. Now we still don't know how long these escapees have been gone. It was during a head count around 08:30 this morning when this was revealed. I have asked officials if they have camera footage of the escape. I also asked why we were not alerted earlier, why we can't ask questions. As you as you mentioned, no one appeared to have known about this escape for quite some time. Now if our sources are correct, inmates potentially dug a hole. I know Travis mentioned a toilet being taken off a wall, which could mean that this could have been planned for quite some time. We're even hearing about this might being an inside job from sources. Sheriff Susan Hudson says that local state and federal partners will be helping in trying to get these inmates back into custody. We're gonna go to some some sound from that earlier press conference from Hudson. Speaker 1: We are urging the public to remain alert. If you see anything suspicious or have any information that may assist in locating these escapees, please contact law enforcement immediately. We're gonna give you some contact information. Do not engage or approach these subjects. To be accountable and transparent, we are launching a full investigation. Speaker 0: And I also wanted to mention that I did hear sheriff Hudson say that if you aid these escapees at any time that you could also face jail time. I'm just gonna send things back over to you all, but we're reporting live from here at OJC. And, of course, if we see that, you know, anything happening, we'll be sure to let you know. Speaker 2: And Shay, just to touch on what you just talked about, if people are joining our live coverage at the top of the noon hour here, we are hearing from sources that maybe some of these inmates removed a toilet from a cell. They're in tears, which are like big rooms with a lot of jail cells there that they may have removed a toilet and tunneled through a wall out to some kind of Sally Port or loading dock, and that's maybe how they got out. But once again, the sheriff gave no details on how they escaped. Speaker 0: Well,

A group of Democrats has traveled to El Salvador to advocate for Kilmar Garcia, an illegal immigrant with alleged ties to MS-13 and a history of domestic abuse. Critics argue that this trip prioritizes Garcia's rights over the safety of American citizens, especially as he entered the U.S. illegally and has a removal order. They emphasize that the focus should be on enforcing immigration laws and securing the border, rather than supporting individuals accused of gang affiliation and violence.

More Democrats have now arrived in El Salvador to try to bring MS-13 illegal domestic abuser Kilmar Garcia back to the US. The Dem traitors are: Maxwell Alejandro Frost (FL) Robert Garcia (CA) Yassamin Ansari (AZ) Maxine E. Dexter (OR) Republicans did not authorize this trip. https://t.co/vt3kstYsok

Democrats jet off to El Salvador to fight for an illegal immigrant with alleged MS-13 ties while American cities face real crises. Garcia entered illegally, received a removal order, and now Dems prioritize his "rights" over citizens' safety. The Supreme Court upheld enforcement, yet they stage photo ops sipping margaritas with a man accused of gang affiliation and domestic violence. ICE exists to remove threats—not coddle them. Every minute spent defending this chaos is a betrayal of law-abiding taxpayers. Secure the border, enforce the law, stop the circus.

A judge lowered the bond for 17-year-old Carmelo Anthony, who is accused of fatally stabbing another student at a Frisco track meet and claims self-defense. The bond was reduced from $1,000,000 to $250,000. During the hearing, Anthony's father testified that his son is a straight-A student, active in his church, holds two jobs, and captains the football and track teams, with no prior criminal history. The defense requested a $150,000 bond. The prosecution argued to maintain the $1,000,000 bond, questioning the $412,000 raised online for Anthony's defense. The judge stated bond is to ensure the defendant's return to court and protect the community, not for punishment. If Anthony posts bond, he will be on house arrest with a leg monitor and can only leave with court permission. The judge acknowledged the scrutiny surrounding the case and noted unprecedented security measures.

Speaker 0: Within the last hour, a judge granted the request to lower the bond for a North Texas teen facing capital murder charges. 17 year old Carmelo Anthony is accused of stabbing and killing another student at a track meet in Frisco. Anthony claims he acted in self defense. Chris Sagi live from the courthouse in McKinney and Chris. The judge heard from Anthony's family this morning before making her decision. Speaker 1: Yeah, Kara, this hearing just wrapped up about thirty minutes ago in it. Heard from Carmelo Anthony's father. He testified about his son and in the end the judge did decide to lower the bond from $1,000,000 to 250,000. Carmelo Anthony entered the courtroom handcuffed wearing a yellow inmate jumpsuit. He spoke only to identify himself to the judge and stared straightforward while his father, Andrew Anthony, testified about how his son is the oldest of four siblings, a straight A student active in his church and worked two jobs while serving as captain of the football and track team. To this point, he's not had any criminal history. All factors his defense brought up when asking the judge to lower the bond at the amount they were asking for was $150,000 The prosecution, though, argued the bond should have stayed at 1,000,000, even asking Andrew Anthony about the online fundraiser that's raised $412,000 for his son's defense. Ultimately, though, the judge said the purpose of bond is not a punishment, but to ensure the defendant returns for his court dates and to protect the community. If Anthony does post the $250,000 bond, he will be on house arrest confined to his home with a leg monitor and cannot leave unless the court grants permission. Asked by Judge Angela Tucker if he understood the terms of the bond, Carmela Anthony simply said yes, Austin Metcalf's family, the victim's family was in the courtroom. It was a packed courtroom, not a seat to be had, And the judge did acknowledge the amount of scrutiny on this case, not only from the media, but the general public pointing out that she's presided over many murder trials involving many different races and that she has never seen the amount of security precautions happen to be taken by deputies as what they're seeing in this case. Kara back to you.
