Embraced the progressive model, introduced radical ideas like open camping and defunding the police and took advantage of a weak mayor, Adler, who also sought national recognition for himself. Unfortunately, these actions have ruined this once-beautiful city. It will likely take several decades to recover from this downward spiral. Thank goodness for the 3-year partnership between @MattMackowiak & me through @SaveATXNowPAC. With the help of the Texas Legislature and Governor @GovAbbott, public safety is returning, & the quality of life for Austinites is improving. I feel terrible for my friends in American cities that now look like Gotham— Oakland, San Francisco, Seattle, Portland. Really hope voters wake up.
