Your @FBI has more updates for you on our efforts to defend the homeland and protect the American people. Today in the southern district of California, a jury found Jinchao Wei, a naturalized US citizen from China and a U.S. Navy sailor, guilty of espionage. Wei lied when he took his oath to defend the United States to become a sailor. Prior to celebrating his U.S. citizenship, Wei sent U.S. national defense information to a Chinese intelligence officer. Wei admitted he knew his actions to help China would be viewed as spying and affect his pending citizenship. Still he decided to STEAL military information, secretly transmit it to China, and cover his tracks until he got caught by the FBI and our partners. Wei risked everything…and he LOST. China’s intelligence officers AGGRESSIVELY target U.S. military members with and without clearances. ANYONE can be a target of China’s Communist Party under the right circumstances. -If anyone offers you money or compensation for ANY kind of military information, whether it belongs to the U.S. or our allies, this is suspicious and you should report it. -If someone offers to pay you for your opinion, pictures of military facilities, screenshots of military documents, names, or information about other military members, this is suspicious and you should report it. China’s intelligence officers WILL hide their true affiliation. Here are some red flags to look out for: -A former colleague reaches out to you, maybe out of the blue, and asks questions about sensitive programs that you’re working on. -They introduce you to a foreign national who shows interest in your work. -Someone you don’t know contacts you to write a paper about sensitive work-related topics. -They want to move conversations to private messaging channels like Signal or WeChat. -At first, they might only ask for publicly available information, but gradually insist on more sensitive or classified information. -Offer to pay you MORE money for NON-PUBLIC information. -Want you to recruit others with more or different access than you have. -You try to cut off contact, but they keep messaging you. -They ask you to sign a receipt for payment. The disclosure of national defense information could place the national security of the United States at risk. It can reveal our country’s security posture against foreign invasion, endanger our military personnel, erode our economic security, undermine U.S. intelligence operations, and take away our negotiating advantage. Report suspicious behaviors and contacts you suspect could be from a foreign adversary. More to come. God bless America, and all who defend her.

It’s sad that we have to constantly go through this exercise with media figures obsessed with false narratives. Sean is correct, as he lays out the fact pattern about the attempted takedown of President Trump. I STRONGLY caution you against accepting media driven narratives about the collusion hoax, given their roles in promoting the hoax in the first place, and the discovery of new information since the Director and I took over.

More updates for you on our efforts to defend the homeland and protect the American people from our foreign adversaries. This week, Cadence Design Systems Inc., a multinational electronic design automation software and hardware company, plead GUILTY to committing criminal export violations and will pay more than $140 MILLION in criminal and civil penalties. Cadence sold SENSITIVE semiconductor design tools and technology to a RESTRICTED Chinese military university involved in the development of supercomputers which are believed to support military and nuclear explosion simulations in China. Our country’s talented technology innovators – particularly within Silicon Valley’s semiconductor industry – stand amongst the best in the world. Your FBI, along with our partners, will continue to protect our most sensitive industries and innovators from reaching the hands of our ENEMIES. This plea deal is a wakeup call for the semiconductor industry to take our export control laws SERIOUSLY and to better monitor where our leading-edge technology is going. The FBI will never stop working to identify and stop these ILLEGAL actions. I’d like to highlight the great work of @FBISanFrancisco, the FBI Counterintelligence Division, and the @CommerceGov for their continued efforts to safeguard this technology. This work is CRITICAL to defending the homeland and protecting you, the American people. God bless America, and all those who defend Her.

During my tenure here as the Deputy Director of the FBI, I have repeatedly relayed to you that things are happening that might not be immediately visible, but they are happening. The Director and I are committed to stamping out public corruption and the political weaponization of both law enforcement and intelligence operations. It is a priority for us. But what I have learned in the course of our properly predicated and necessary investigations into these aforementioned matters, has shocked me down to my core. We cannot run a Republic like this. I’ll never be the same after learning what I’ve learned. We are going to conduct these righteous and proper investigations by the book and in accordance with the law. We are going to get the answers WE ALL DESERVE. As with any investigation, I cannot predict where it will land, but I can promise you an honest and dignified effort at truth. Not “my truth,” or “your truth,” but THE TRUTH. God bless America, and all those who defend Her. Respectfully, Dan

The Director and I are absolutely committed to cleaning up the plague of public corruption. We are also committed to weeding out CCP scheming and illicit influence campaigns. Corrupt public officials are on notice, this case is not even the beginning of the beginning. You know who you are. So do we. And, I’ll say again, we are absolutely NOT asking for anyone’s “trust.” We are in the results business, and the trust will come as the results materialize. Bookmark this tweet. You’ll see. God bless America, and all those who defend Her. 🇺🇸

@FBIDDBongino Dan, What ever happened to the Wiener laptop NYPD turned over to the FBI? Concerned citizens want to know! Thank You https://t.co/LgLl1j92lH

With regard to the incident in LA this afternoon, the Senator in question was not wearing a security pin and physically resisted law enforcement when confronted. Our FBI personnel acted completely appropriately while assisting Secret Service and we are grateful for their professionalism and service.
@FBIDDBongino - Dan Bongino
He chose poorly. Choose wisely.
@FBIDDBongino - Dan Bongino
Help us find him.
@FBIDDBongino - Dan Bongino
We are not stopping or slowing down. We are not intimidated or apprehensive. Illegal immigration operations will continue, and anyone using violence to obstruct or impede these operations will be investigated and prosecuted. Multiple arrests have already been made, in both LA and NY, and additional investigations are ongoing, and producing results. Many of these subjects will face federal charges, along with local and state charges. It will not end well for you if you choose violence. Choose wisely.
@FBIDDBongino - Dan Bongino
And yes, multiple arrests have already been made for obstructing our operations. More are coming. We are pouring through the videos for more perpetrators. You bring chaos, and we’ll bring handcuffs. Law and order will prevail.
@FBIDDBongino - Dan Bongino
We are currently seeking information regarding the identity of the person(s) throwing rocks at vehicles conducting critical law enforcement operations. One of the perpetrators in this video is wearing a helmet, and we’re going to use our investigative tools to locate the individual. I strongly suggest you turn yourself in, it’s only a matter of time. https://t.co/gf1OVS2A3E

FBI personnel are on the scene in Boulder, Colorado, along with local law enforcement. We are investigating this incident as an act of terror, and targeted violence. All of the necessary assets will be dedicated to this investigation. If you have any investigative tips please contact the FBI. And if you aided or abetted this attack, we will find you. You cannot hide.
@FBIDDBongino - Dan Bongino
I have a few updates on last night’s shooting that I want to share with you all, in the interest of transparency. Out of respect for the investigation and the charges being aggressively pursued, we are limited in what we can immediately say, but we want to share as much information with the public as possible as we work through the process and seek justice. - The FBI is aware of certain writings allegedly authored by the suspect, and we hope to have updates as to the authenticity very soon. - The subject is in custody and interviewed last night at approximately 1am. As this is a pending investigation, we will share more with you when we are able. - As our WFO office said, the FBI believes there is no ongoing threat to the public at this time. At the same time, I want the public to be assured we are following up on any additional leads to ensure we do our complete and total due diligence on this. Above all, please pray for the families of the victims. This is something no parent, family member, or friend should have to go through. The FBI sends our condolences and will offer our full support as the investigation continues.

I haven’t done any media interviews to this point because I want to keep the attention on the work. I don’t work for myself anymore, I work for you. But it is important to relay to you what we’re doing, and the media can be a tool for that. That’s why we chose a long-form interview with Maria Bartiromo for our first interview. I hope you saw it. If you missed it, here are some of the questions that were asked and answered: -Yes, we are moving FBI headquarters out of the Hoover Building. The process has already begun. Stay tuned for updates on the details and timelines. -I was asked about some of the details surrounding the Jeffrey Epstein case. I have reviewed the case. Jeffrey Epstein killed himself. There’s no evidence in the case file indicating otherwise. I’m not asking you to believe me, or not. I’m telling you what exists, and what doesn’t. If new evidence surfaces I’m happy to reevaluate. -I was challenged on “accountability.” It’s a fair question. I aggressively responded because the Director and I have been working tirelessly to uncover the bad actors. We cannot get into HR specifics, and this creates an information vacuum. Unfortunately bad actors looking to tell you “a story,” not THE story, want you to believe we haven’t taken harsh and decisive action against rogue employees. That’s absolutely false. And the bad actors know it. -We were asked about FBI priorities. The Director and I told Maria that the President, the Attorney General, the Director, and I are absolutely committed to getting your FBI back to its roots. We will make your communities safer. Illegal immigration ops, child sex crimes investigations, 764 cases, and violent criminal fugitive apprehensions are all on our expanding radar. And while America is enjoying the summer we are already planning a massive operation to clean up your streets. The counter-terror and counter-intell missions are critical and will continue at our customary high-tempo too. This is what you pay us for. God bless America, and all those who defend Her.

As the Deputy Director of the FBI, I am charged, standing with Director Patel, with managing the most powerful law enforcement agency in the world. The Director and I are also responsible for looking at grave mistakes made by people within the FBI in the past, and ensuring they never happen again. And while the FBI does not have primary investigative responsibility for investigating threats against the POTUS, and we do not make prosecutorial decisions, we do have the ability and authority to support other federal agencies for violations of federal law. And we certainly have a responsibility to comment on matters involving former FBI officials, and allegations of law-breaking. That said, former FBI Director James Comey brought shame to the FBI badge, yet again, this past week. The Director and I spend an inordinate amount of time cleaning up messes left behind by former Director Comey. And his latest actions are no exception. As I’ve stated in the past, I cannot post openly about all the things the Director and I are doing to reform the enterprise, but I assure you, they are happening. Sadly, many of those agenda items are the result of former Director Comey’s poor decision making and atrocious leadership. And to those who doubt me, I assure you, when you see what the Director and I see from the inside, it’s even worse. I’m addressing this now, rather than on our interview with Maria Bartiromo tomorrow, because we recorded that interview earlier in the week prior to the incident with Comey. God bless America, and all those who defend Her.

If you harm innocent children in America, this FBI will pursue you, find you, and bring you to justice. Thank you @NewYorkFBI and our law enforcement partners.

FYI, Adam Goldman of the NY Times is getting ready to run another one of their “journalism” exposé pieces about me spending time in our FBI training facility ground fighting with our dedicated and skilled defensive tactics instructors. Their big news “hook” is that after a solid few rounds of grappling, I injured my shoulder. Because it’s Adam Goldman, you can generally assume he’s wrong, and he is, again. The instructor I was grappling with got the best of me, because he’s incredibly talented. That’s why he’s there. And it was my not an “injury” but a bit of swelling in my right elbow, not shoulder, because I’m 50 years old and I can’t recover like I used to. But I felt it was important to get on the mats any way, because that’s what men do. But Adam doesn’t know much about that. And he never will. Because he’s Adam, from the NY Times. Thanks, Dan

In the best interests of openness and transparency I’ll be posting regular information updates on this account. -The Director and I are working through many of the transparency issues. We are focused on getting this done the right way, and as quickly and efficiently as possible. Many of these cases involve victims, both young and old, who we will not allow to be re-victimized by a rushed and sloppy effort. -We are engaging with all of our personnel on transparency, while simultaneously dealing with a number of serious threats to the Homeland, our children, our economy, and our infrastructure. We absolutely cannot afford to miss any threats in those spaces. Multi-tasking isn’t an option here. -I am well aware of some of the early concerns expressed on social media about the speed of change. I understand. But I’ll state again, if you think I upended my prior job and lifestyle to take a vacation in FBI headquarters, then I can’t help you. You’ve already decided, despite logic and reason, that all is lost. It is not. Not even close. Because you don’t see things happening in live time, does not mean change isn’t happening. Not even close. You will see results, and not every result will please everyone, but you will absolutely see results. Just watch. -God bless America, and all those who defend Her. -Dan

In the best interests of openness and transparency I’ll be posting regular information updates on this account. -The Director and I are working tirelessly on the transparency and accountability fronts. We didn’t swear in to our positions to settle for the status quo, and we have quality people, spending countless man hours, on the process. You will see results shortly. You have my word. -If you’re victimizing children, then I promise you that you are on my list, and you don’t want to be on my list. Dedicated FBI agents are laser-focused on making sure you’re about to have a really bad day if you’re targeting America’s children. We will not rest until you’re in handcuffs. -The Director and I do not leave the office until we’re sure we’re doing everything we can do to keep the Homeland safe. I can assure you that the FBI personnel working on the counter-terrorism mission are incredibly dedicated, and they have a deep understanding of the depths of the problems. If you’re out there targeting us, we will find you. -God bless America, and all those who defend Her.

In the best interests of openness and transparency I’d like to make a habit out of posting regular information updates. -The work going on inside of the FBI is saving lives. Most of it is done in silence due to its sensitive nature, but it is laudable. I had high expectations for the good guys, and they’ve been surpassed. -Yes, the good guys know critical mistakes were made. Accountability and transparency are the ONLY options, and the Director and I are committed to it. -The Director and I are both working tirelessly to reward the incredible work going on, while simultaneously looking at improvements and reforms to better serve you. More will be coming in the following weeks and months. -Stay tuned in the coming weeks and months, as we continue to work on the pressing issues, for more good news on the openness and transparency fronts. -I promise you, if you’re one of the bad guys, you’re about to have a really bad day soon. God bless America, and all those who defend Her.

It is an honor to serve as Deputy Director for the Federal Bureau of Investigation at such a critical time for our nation. The American people deserve a justice system that is transparent, accountable, and committed to the rule of law. My promise to you is that I will work tirelessly to help restore integrity, eliminate political bias, and ensure the FBI remains dedicated to its core mission of protecting the United States and upholding the Constitution.
