Speaker 0: Hey. Good morning, Dana. Yeah. The main thing that had to happen to prevent disaster in this case is that once that ship lost propulsion, they immediately notified the coast guard. And then the 3 towboats that were escorting the ship were able to jump into action and help move it out of the channel.
This all happening because of VTS. So a big difference between Baltimore and New York is that here in New York, the US coast guard operates vehicle traffic services. VTS is like air traffic control, but for the busy ports. All ships are monitored and tubs can respond quickly. There are 12 ports with VTS stations in the country, including right here in New York.
Now naval experts tell us that losing power or propulsion is not unusual, but it is uncommon in narrow waters like here in this harbor. With Friday's incident coming less than 2 weeks after the disaster in Baltimore, fear is high, but naval experts say trust the investigation process.
Speaker 1: I think we have to rely on the coast guard and National Transportation Safety Board, NTSB, to look and see if there there are facts that underlie the obvious reason for the suspicion that you just described. President Trump's statement of financial condition was so undervalued, but Leticia James, as you've seen, will show up when it's a press day. I said it yesterday on the news, she hasn't been here for days, but you know when she's gonna come? When the main events here, and that is Trump. She piggybacked on Trump to get into office.
She didn't do it well enough to be a governor. She was a failed gubernatorial candidate, and now she's working on her politics again. She shows up, sits in the back when she should be doing real work because the city of New York has fallen apart. If you are a business in New York, pay attention. You put your value.
President Trump wanted to inflate his net worth on a statement of financial condition, his brand alone could double, triple it. It's basic. It's basic. This is a waste of time. We heard testimony from an expert this week.
Miss James wasn't here for that day because it wasn't good for her. He's been paid by New York taxpayer dollars, $450,000 in the past few months to come here and testify. That's your money.
