BREAKING: U.S. to face extremely rare “cicada-geddon” as two generations of over 100 trillion cicadas will emerge together for the first time since 1803, shortly after the April 8th solar eclipse. https://t.co/w3DSj9dDuL

Video Transcript AI Summary
Cicada season is upon us with a rare double dose of the bugs emerging every 13 to 17 years. This year, two separate types of cicadas will come out at the same time, potentially reaching trillions in number. The bugs, known for their loud singing, are already starting to emerge due to warmer temperatures. While they may be annoying, they are harmless and provide valuable information for scientists. The exact number of cicadas expected is uncertain, but experts suggest it could be in the quadrillions.

Speaker 0: Okay. So we've been talking about this a lot. Cicada season, it comes around every 13 to 17 years. This summer, though, an unusual double dose is gonna hit us. Speaker 1: You remember the last batch? I do. Here we go again. 1st in the south and then here in Illinois and crossing into our neighboring states. Dana Marie McNicholl has more on the invasion that's about to get loud. Speaker 2: It's like an entire alien species living underneath our feet. Speaker 3: They're some of nature's most resilient creatures. Speaker 2: And then some prime number years, they come out to say hello. Speaker 3: Periodical cicadas, the kind that emerge every 13 to 17 years, are expected to start showing up in just a few weeks. But this time, there could be more than we can handle. A rare double dose of the bug that can sing as loud as jet engines is about to hit the south, then move north to the Midwest, all thanks to a combination of 2 separate types of cicadas that haven't bred at the same time since 18/03. Speaker 2: This year, we're gonna get 2 broods that are gonna emerge at the same time and multiply by a 100, a 1000. We're gonna get trillions of these amazing living organisms come out of the earth. Speaker 3: And it's already underway. Scientists have been observing boreholes created through the southeast, meaning the cicadas are preparing to emerge. They usually leave their underground hiding places when the ground heats up to 64 degrees, and that's happening a bit earlier this year because of climate change. Good news. They're annoying but not harmful, and experts are ready to collect a treasure trove of valuable information when the double dose ramps up. Speaker 2: So I think we get to appreciate, you know, this fragile planet we call habitat with, so many beautiful systems, small, but lot lot in number and, you know, so much we don't know yet. Speaker 3: As for how many cicadas they'll see this year, it's difficult to predict, but some experts say that number could be in the quadrillions. In Miami, Dana Marie McNicholl, Fox 32 Chicago.

Speaker 0: Congressman, let me ask you about this development this weekend. US intelligence officials are planning to provide briefings for Donald Trump once he if he officially secures the nomination despite the fact that he's facing 40 felony charges for his handling of classified documents. As the former chair of the House Intelligence Committee, do you think it's appropriate for him to receive intelligence briefings? Speaker 1: Well, the that is the practice, but we've never had a situation where one of the candidates for president has been so criminally negligent when it comes to handling, if not worse, when it comes to handling classified information. So I have to hope and knowing the intelligence community as I do that they will dumb down the briefing for Donald Trump. That is they will give him no more information than absolutely necessary, Nothing that would reveal sources or methods because we can't trust that he will do the right thing with that information. He's been so reckless. So, yes, it does concern me. It is part of a long tradition. They will be wary of what they

Speaker 0: This commercial sex ring was built on secrecy and exclusivity, catering to a wealthy and well connected clientele, and business was booming until today. It's alleged that the prospective sex buyers in this scheme first had to respond to a survey and provide information online, including their driver's license photos, their employer information, credit card information, and they often paid a monthly fee to be part of this at Club. They would choose a duration of this encounter they wanted, the types of services they wanted, and they also would receive a menu of different options and different women that they could purchase, sometimes at rates between $3.50 and $600 an hour. The menu included photographs of the various women who were available that day.
