I noticed that the ATF marked the 31st anniversary of Ruby Ridge by unveiling a new rule that feels oppressive. Over three decades later, they continue to encroach on the rights of law-abiding citizens. Randy Weaver's case revolved around firearm length; today, it's about profits from gun sales.

ICYMI 📢 The ATF decided to commemorate the 31st anniversary of Ruby Ridge by releasing the text of their latest tyrannical rule. 🙄 Over 30 years later, they are still infringing upon the rights of law-abiding citizens. For Randy Weaver, it was all about the length of his firearm. For Americans today, it’s whether they have made a profit on a gun sale.

Data shows a significant decline in homicides, with one of the fastest rates ever recorded. Possible reasons include the Bruen ruling, Constitutional Carry states, increased gun ownership, and even a successful Lions season in Detroit. Read Tiffany's breakdown and share your thoughts on the decrease in crime.

@GunOwners - Gun Owners of America

Data shows that there has been a drastic drop in homicides over the last year and the author of the study says it is "one of the fastest rates of decline ever recorded." 🤯 There are likely several factors at play as to why the decrease is so drastic, but we cannot ignore that the Bruen ruling, the increase in Constitutional Carry states, and the increase in overall gun ownership likely has a lot to do with the decrease in violent crime. 👏 Or, in the case of Detroit, a winning Lions season. 😉

According to a recent study, murder rates in 2023 have seen a significant decline, possibly one of the fastest ever recorded. The removal of gun control may have played a role in this decrease. Following a Supreme Court ruling, states can no longer deny concealed firearm permits to law-abiding citizens. Consequently, there has been a surge in permit applications, especially in states with strict regulations. Criminals now fear that their potential victims may be armed, which likely contributed to the nationwide drop in homicides.

Speaker 0: So according to a recent study, murder rates have plummeted in 2023. So much that the study's author was quoted saying that it's likely one of the fastest declines in homicides ever recorded. Who knew? But is there a reason for the decline? We think so. It's possible that the removal of gun control may have played a role in this decrease. In the landmark brewing ruling, the Supreme Court removed the power of states to refuse concealed firearm permits to law abiding citizens. Following this ruling, there's been a huge surge in concealed carry permit applications in states known for their tight regulations. With this increase in permits, criminals no longer have confidence that their victims would be unarmed. It's likely that this may have contributed to the drop in homicides nationwide.

I oppose Senate Bill 18/19 because it's unnecessary. 3D printing firearms is not an effective way for criminals to get guns. This bill violates the First Amendment rights of law-abiding hobbyists and gun enthusiasts who want to share information about unique or antique firearms. The real issue is not the devices, but the people using them. This bill is just another attempt to add more regulations to an already heavily regulated industry, based on fear and misunderstanding.

Speaker 0: I oppose, senate bill 18/19 because it is a solution in search of a problem. Simply put, three d manufacturing of firearms would be an entirely ineffective way for a criminal to obtain a firearm. 4th, this bill would be an unconstitutional infringement on the First Amendment speech rights of law abiding hobbyists and firearms enthusiasts who simply wanna share specifications or unique, about unique or antique firearms. At the end of the day, we don't have a device problem. We've got a people problem. And this bill represents another attempt by some to use fear and misunderstanding to layer more federal regulations on an already highly regulated industry.
