Speaker 0: Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. At today's press conference, we will hear from governor Cox, FBI director Cash Patel, and Sheriff Mike Smith. We also have with us Utah DPS Commissioner Bo Mason, Lieutenant Governor Deidre Henderson, FBI Special Agent in Charge Robert Bowles and local and federal law enforcement partners. Following the remarks today, Governor Cox, Director Patel and Commissioner Mason will take questions. Thank you. Speaker 1: Good morning ladies and gentlemen. We got him. On the evening of September 11, a family member of Tyler Robinson reached out to a family friend who contacted the Washington County Sheriff's Office with information that Robinson had confessed to them or implied that he had committed the incident. This information was relayed to the Utah County Sheriff's Office and scene investigators at Utah Valley University. This information was also conveyed to the FBI. Investigators reviewed additional video footage from UVU surveillance and identified Robinson arriving on UVU campus in a gray Dodge Challenger at approximately 08:29AM on September 10, in which he is observed on video in a plain maroon t shirt, light colored shorts, a black hat with a white logo and light colored shoes. When encountered in person by investigators in Washington County on September 12 the early morning hours, Robinson was observed in consistent clothing with those surveillance images. Investigators interviewed a family member of Robinson who stated that Robinson had become more political in recent years. The family member referenced a recent incident in which Robinson came to dinner prior to September 10 and in the conversation with another family member Robinson mentioned Charlie Kirk was coming to UVU. They talked about why they didn't like him and the viewpoints that he had. The family member also stated Kirk was full of hate and spreading hate. The family member also confirmed Robinson had a gray Dodge Challenger. Investigators identified an individual as the roommate of Robinson. Investigators interviewed that roommate who stated that his roommate, referring to Robinson, made a joke on Discord. Investigators asked if he would show them the messages on Discord. He opened it and showed several messages to investigators and allowed investigators to take photos of the screen as each message was shown by Robinson's roommate. These photos consisted of various messages including content of messages between the phone contact name Tyler with an emoji icon and Robinson's roommate's device. The content of these messages included messages affiliated with the contact Tyler stating a need to retrieve a rifle from a drop point, leaving the rifle in a bush, messages related to a to visually watching the area where a rifle was left and a message referring to having left the rifle wrapped in a towel. The messages also refer to engraving bullets and a mention of a scope and the rifle being unique. Messages from the contact Tyler also mentioned that he had changed outfits. I know there has been speculation as well as to the the writing on those casings. Those those those bullet casings and I believe we have that as well. And I I will share that with you now. So the area north of Campus Drive Road where the suspect crossed over, you saw some of that in the video that we released last night, consists of a grassy area with trees on the edge of the UVU campus. Investigators discovered a bolt action rifle wrapped in a dark colored towel. The rifle was determined to be a Mauser model ninety eight thirty ot six caliber 30 ot six caliber bolt action rifle. The rifle had a scope mounted on top of it. Investigators noted inscriptions that had been engraved on casings found with the rifle. Inscriptions on a fired casing read notices, bulges, capital o w o, what's this question mark. Inscriptions on the three unfired casings read, Hey Fascist! Up arrow symbol, right arrow symbol and three down arrow symbols. A second unfired casing read, Oh, Bella Chow, Bella Chow, Bella Chow, Chow Chow, and a third unfired casing read, if you read this, you are gay, LMAO. We are indebted to law enforcement across the state who has worked seamlessly together, local law enforcement, state law enforcement and our federal partners with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. We're grateful for everyone who worked together in in in such a short amount of time to to find this person and to and to bring justice. I want to thank the public who has been so engaged reviewing reviewing videos, helping us with sending in tips and helping us get to this point. I want to thank the the family members of Tyler Robinson who did the right thing in this case and were able to bring him into law enforcement as well. I especially want to thank the family of Charlie Kirk, Erica, Charlie's parents, his children. I want us to be thinking of them as we bring justice in this case. They will be involved in that justice. We will be working very closely with them as we move through this process as well. This is a very sad day for again for our country. A terrible day for the state of Utah But I'm grateful that at this moment we have an opportunity to bring closure to this very dark chapter in our nation's history. With that I will now turn microphone over to the Director of the FBI, Kash Patel. Speaker 2: Thank you, governor. This is what happens when you let good cops be cops. The FBI and our partners are proud to stand here today together to bring justice to the family of Charlie Kirk and honor his memory. I wanna express my deep gratitude to president Trump, the vice president, and the entire White House who have been so incredibly supportive with both resources and just personally to the FBI as a team. They had our backs the entire way, and I just wanna express my gratitude for giving us the resources we need to operate in this space to bring this sort of justice at this sort of speed. In thirty three hours, we have made historic progress for Charlie. Governor Cox, our partnership has been absolutely incredible these last few days. Our partnership will endure. Your state and local partners, your sheriffs, your DPS community has been unbelievably impressive in the hardest of times. And a case like this cannot be solved, be brought without partnering with your state and local authorities. The FBI has a certain role to play and we will play that role and we will lead out for the federal government. But governor Cox, we are so grateful for your state partnership that led out on this investigation. A little bit of the timeline. Charlie was shot at 12:23PM on Wednesday. The first FBI agents arrived on scene in sixteen minutes with chiefs of police at 12:39 and secured the scene. The FBI immediately launched fixed wing assets. We utilized these assets to transport personnel, specialty technicians, hostage rescue teams. We also utilized these assets to go back and forth from the East Coast and here in Utah to transport forensic evidence and other evidence that will be analyzed and is being analyzed at our FBI laboratories in Quantico and other laboratories including the ATF. At my direction, the FBI released the first set of FBI photos of the suspect at 10AM local time on nineeleven. Then shortly thereafter, the FBI reward of a $100,000 was released at 10:45AM local. Myself and deputy director Bongino arrived on the scene at approximately 05:30PM on 09/11. The governor led a press conference last night at approximately 8PM where at my direction, the FBI released a never before seen video of the suspect. We also released new images to the public of the suspect. And just last night, the suspect was taken into custody at 10PM local time. In less than thirty six hours, 33 to be precise, thanks to the full weight of the federal government and leading out with the partners here in the state of Utah and governor Cox, the suspect was apprehended in historic time period. And I wanna highlight what governor Cox said. This would not have been possible without you, the media, and you, the public. That's why we went so public, so fast, and we're so transparent, and we're committed to that transparency. The crime scene, just a little bit there. It is a large crime scene. State and local authorities along with federal authorities process that crime quickly. And I even had the ability to walk through that crime scene and walk through the steps the suspect took to learn more about what was needed and what resources we needed to Brayer to create a full picture for the FBI and leadership back in Washington. Furthermore, thankfully to state and local partners, forensic evidence has been seized and continues to be garnered. Forensic evidence has already been evaluated at FBI laboratories in Quantico and state local authorities here. We will continue to process evidence as we see it, as we collect it and we will continue to deliver to Governor Cox and his team. Last night, we had a total of approximately 7,000 interviews excuse me, 7,000 leads. As of this morning, thanks to your great work, we have over 11,000 leads that were called in to the FBI, and we are running out every single lead that we can. Every one of those leads will be run out. The arrest is a testament to dedication of good law enforcement being great and partnerships in law enforcement, which I've tried to highlight as my tenure as the director of the FBI. There is no better relationship for law enforcement than the FBI to partner with state and local authorities, and you've seen it here in these last few days. The FBI Salt Lake field office along with our offices in LA, Phoenix, Denver, San Antonio, Las Vegas, Pittsburgh, Buffalo, our headquarters component in Quantico, all participate in the FBI. I wanna express my deep gratitude to the employees of the FBI, the men and women, the evidence response team tacticians, the special operators, the agents, the support staff. You have done monumental work in historic time when the public who had a right to demand such an expeditious solving of an investigation, The FBI answered that call diligently, critically important to our nation, and we delivered. And I'm proud to be their leader, and I'm proud to be the director of the FBI. This is a very much an ongoing investigation, as the governor said. We will continue to work with state and local authorities to develop the investigation, to provide them the evidence they need for their ongoing prosecutions, and we will be here to answer every call they absolutely have as long as it takes for as long as we need to find and apprehend whatever suspects were involved in this crime. Lastly, to my friend Charlie Kirk, Rest now brother. We have the watch and I'll see you in Valhalla. Speaker 3: Thank you and good morning. I would just like to take a few minutes as the sheriff to express my gratitude for everybody who has played a part in this investigation. As you know, it's been a vast, a complicated and a very, very fast paced investigation. You're looking at people standing up here who are running on if they got an hour sleep in the last couple of days, they're probably lucky. It has been very taxing. It has been so impressive speaking on behalf of the local law enforcement to see the cooperation that we've seen in this type of case. Across the state, sheriffs, chiefs, our state partners have stepped up and have come to the call on anything that we needed. Our county chiefs have been phenomenal. Our Utah County Attorney, Jeff Gray, who's standing up here with us has been phenomenal in leading us through this investigation. I would like to thank the federal government for for their resource sources, their assets, our local team here, our FBI team has been extraordinary in helping us work through this and bring this person to justice. Most of all, I would like to thank the public and specifically, I would like to thank the public who turned to prayers and who turned to positiveness for us. I would like to thank them on behalf of the law enforcement community because we needed those prayers. That's what we needed to get through this. We needed your support and you gave it to us. We needed your patience and you gave it to us. And I would like to thank you for the Kirk family because that's what they need is your support and your prayers and that will get us through all of this. So thank you everybody for everybody that have stepped up. We've had such a phenomenal response to this. Thank you. Speaker 2: I also want to give a special thanks to the Attorney General and the Department of Justice. Their unwavering support and their commitment to justice is shown true here. And without AG Bondi and Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche and the resources they brought to bear, we would not have been able to complete our mission. And I just want to say special thanks. It's an honor to be a part of the Department of Justice. Speaker 1: Thank you again to our incredible law enforcement team who has worked so hard. Sheriff, I got a solid ninety minutes last night so I'm probably the most well rested person up here. Ladies and gentlemen, I get the microphone. So I hope you'll permit me a moment just to share a few more thoughts about where we are and how we got here and maybe a little bit of where we go from here. I don't want to get too preachy, but I think it's important that we with eyes wide open understand what's happening in our country today. I've I've heard I've heard people say, why are we why are we so invested in this? There's violence happening all across our country and violence is tragic everywhere and every life taken is is a child of God who deserves our love and respect and dignity. This is this is certainly about the the tragic death, assassination, political assassination of of Charlie Kirk. But it is also much bigger than an attack on an individual. It is an attack on all of us. It is an attack on the American experiment. It it it is an attack on our ideals. This cuts to the very foundation of who we are, of who we have been, and and who we could be in better times. Political violence is different than any other type of violence for for lots of different reasons. One, because in the very act that Charlie championed of expression, that freedom of expression that is enshrined in our founding documents in in having his life taken in that very act makes it more difficult for people to feel like they can share their ideas, that they can speak freely. We will never be able to solve all the other problems including the violence problems that people are are worried about if we can't have a clash of ideas safely and securely. Even especially especially those ideas with which you disagree. That's why this matters so much. Over the last forty eight hours, I have been as angry as I have ever been, as sad as I have ever been. And it was as as as anger pushed me to the brink, it was actually Charlie's words that pulled me back. I'd like to share some of those. And specifically right now if I could, I I need to talk to the young people in our state, in my state, and and all across the country. As president Trump reminded me, he said, you you know who who really loved Charlie? The youths. He's right. Young people love Charlie and young people hated Charlie. And Charlie went into those places anyway. And these are the words that have helped me. Charlie said, when people stop talking that's when you get violence. He said the weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong. The only way out of the labyrinth of suffering is to forgive. Welcome without judgment, love without condition, forgive without limit. He said, always forgive your enemies, nothing annoys them so much. A few months ago, I referenced this last night, Charlie posted to social media, when things are moving very fast and people are losing their minds, it's important to stay grounded. Turn off your phone, read scripture, spend time with friends and remember internet fury is not real life. It's going to be okay. He again said when you stop having a human connection with someone you disagree with it becomes a lot easier to commit violence. He said what we as a culture have to get back to is being able to have a reasonable agreement being able to have reasonable agreement where violence is not an option. Now, again, to my young friends out there, you are inheriting a country where politics feels like rage. It feels like rage is the only option. But through those words we have a reminder that we can choose a different path. Your generation has an opportunity to build a culture that is very different than what we are suffering through right now. Not by pretending differences don't matter but by embracing our differences and having those hard conversations. I I think we need more moral clarity right now. I hear all the time that words are violence. Words are not violence. Violence is violence. And there is one person responsible for what happened here and that person is now in custody and will be charged soon and will be held accountable. And yet all of us have an opportunity right now to do something different. I want to thank my fellow Utahns. Bad stuff happens And for thirty three hours I was praying that if this had to happen here that it wouldn't be one of us. That somebody drove from another state, somebody came from another country. Sadly that prayer was not answered the way I had hoped for just because I thought it would make it easier on us if we could just say, hey, we don't do that here. And indeed, Utah is a special place. We lead the nation in charitable giving. We lead the nation in service every year. But it did happen here and it was one of us. But I want you to look at how Utahns reacted the last two nights. There was no rioting. There's no looting. There were no cars set on fire. There's no violence. There were there were vigils and prayers and people coming together to share the humanity. And and that, ladies and gentlemen, I believe is the answer to this. We can return violence with violent violence. We can return hate with hate. And that's the problem with with political violence is it metastasizes because we can always point the finger at the other side. And at some point we have to find an off ramp or it's going to get much much worse. But see these are choices that we can make. History will dictate if this is a turning point for our country. But every single one of us gets to choose right now if this is a turning point for us. We get to make decisions. We have our agency. And I desperately call on every American, Republican, Democrat, liberal, progressive, conservative, MAGA, all of us to please, please, please follow what Charlie taught me. I'll just conclude with words I share often from a friend and author Yuval Levin who was asked if he was optimistic about our country. And he said, I'm not optimistic. He said, hate optimism. God, that sounds bad. But he said optimism is a vice. It's this idea that good things are just going to happen. And he said, in the history of the world, good things have never just happened. He says I'm not optimistic but I am hopeful and hope is the virtue that sits between the vices of optimism and pessimism. Hope is the idea that good things are going to happen because we can make them so. I still believe in our country and I know Charlie Kirk believed in our country. I still believe that there is more good among us than evil And I still believe that we can change the course of history. I'm hopeful because Americans can make it so. Ladies and gentlemen, we're happy to answer any questions you may. To whether the suspect is speaking with authorities and his demeanor Tyler Robinson when he turned himself in? We I cannot speak to that right now. Well I will leave that up to you to interpret what those engravings mean. I think the clearest one that says catch fascist, I there's not and by the way, that's like catch like a ball, catch this. That's I think that that speaks for itself. There there's nothing more that we can share at this time. We do not at this time have any information that would lead to any additional arrests. Yes. But the investigation is ongoing. Yes. So right now, mister Robinson has been booked into the Utah County Jail. You you heard the president this morning report that that he was taken into custody that that his family and and a friend helped to to deliver him in to the the in the custody of law enforcement in Washington County. Those of you that don't know where Washington County is, it is the southern most southwestern most part of the state of Utah. It's about a three and a half to four hour drive from here where we are right now. And that's that's where where he lived and where he they they turned him in. Please. I'll go here. I I I can't share any more than what I've already shared. Yeah. So we we how we obtained the gun? The gun was found was found here. So so I I don't have much more details on that. We we do know that that that he drove. We had his car here on on campus, and then and then we had his car going going south back to back to the Saint George. It's actually the city of Washington in in Washington County. Speaker 0: Is he talking with authorities and did he discuss a Speaker 1: I'm sorry? Did the suspect pass carry on any other We don't have any information that would lead us to believe that. In the munchie? Yes. In fact, it's already it was just released. The question is what kind of watershed? And that that chapter remains to be written. Is this the end of a dark chapter in our history or the beginning of a darker chapter in our history? I I mean, if if you look at true political assassinations in this country of of someone of this stature, This feels a lot like the late sixties and and having one so gruesomely displayed on camera in all of our hands and in all of our pockets. We are not wired as human beings biologically. Historically, we have not evolved in a way that we are capable of processing those types of violent imagery. And by the way, we've seen another one with a gruesome stabbing very recently that went viral. This is not good for us. It is not good to consume. Social media is a cancer on our society right now. And I would encourage, again, I would encourage people to log off, turn off, touch grass, hug a family member, go out and do good in your community. There are that is happening and it's happening organically right now. Had a friend in a in a small city in Utah who said we're we're we're we're getting together. The Republicans and Democrats in my little town are getting together to have a discussion tonight, last night, just to find a way to to to find their better angels. So so, yes, this this could be. I I mean, you you know, again, you have to go back to JFK to to have seen a video live of something like this happening. I wasn't born until 1975, but but I know that things were really dark in in the late sixties. Sorry to some of you. I know some of you were there. But this is our moment. Do we escalate or do we find an off ramp? And again, it's a choice. It's a choice and every one of us gets to make that choice. Two more questions. Two more questions. Right here. I I cannot comment if there is a direct connection or not, but all I can say is that that that through some process, the family came to know that this had happened. Just clarify the clothing issue you mentioned earlier? Was he changing outfits? Yes, yes. So when he's first spotted on campus he has different clothing on and then he changes clothing on the roof and then changed back into that clothing at some point so that when when he was when he was apprehended, when he when he was arrested, the clothing matched the clothing he had on before the shooting here at UVU. Speaker 0: Thank you very much, and thank you for being here in the Oval Office, some of great places of the world, as we make a historic announcement about the Golden Dome missile defense shield. That's something we want. And, Ronald Reagan wanted it many years ago, but they didn't have the technology. But it's, something we're gonna have. We're gonna have it at the highest level. I wanna thank secretary Hegseth, who's, been fantastic, and secretary Rubio and space force vice chief of space operations, general Mike Gutlein. I also wanna recognize senators Dan Sullivan, Kevin Kramer, and Jim Banks. Fantastic senators, great talents, great political talents, and people that love our country. In the campaign, I promised the American people that I would build a cutting edge missile defense shield to protect our homeland from the threat of foreign missile attack. And that's what we're doing today. I'm pleased to announce that we have officially selected an architecture for this state of the art system that will deploy next generation technologies across the land, sea, and space, including space based sensors and interceptors. And Canada has called us, and they wanna be a part of it. So we'll be talking to them. They wanna have protection also. So as usual, we help Canada do the best we can. This design for the Golden Dome will integrate with our existing defense capabilities and should be fully operational before the end of my term. So we'll have it done in about three years. Once fully constructed, the Golden Dome will be capable of intercepting missiles even if they are launched from other sides of the world and even if they are launched from space. And we will have the best system ever built. As you know, we helped Israel with theirs and was very successful. And now we have technology that's even far advanced from that. But including hypersonic missiles, ballistic missiles, and advanced cruise missiles, all of them will be knocked out of the air. We will truly be completing the job that president Reagan started forty years ago, forever ending the missile threat to the American homeland. And the success rate is very close to a %, which is incredible. When you think of it, you're shooting bullets out of the air. I'm also pleased to report that the one big beautiful bill will include $25,000,000,000 for the Golden Dome to help construction get underway. That's the initial sort of a down positive. And we have, probably, you're talking about general, we're talking about a hundred and $75,000,000,000 total cost of this when it's completed. This afternoon, I'm also announcing that I will appoint, very importantly, general Gudlein to lead the ambitious new effort as the direct reporting program manager for the Golden Dome. Very talented man, and I'm very honored to have been the one that helped or really created Space Force. Space Force has turned out to be a tremendous success. We were third in space, and now we're number one in space by a lot. It's not even close. And Mike is a four star space force general, the recipient of the defense distinguished service medal, one of the most respected people in the world having to do with defense. You know, we have offense and we have defense. I bet he's good at offense too. And he has an unmatched background in missile warning technology and defense procurement. General Goodline also knows that we need to move fast. No one is more qualified for his job. And everybody this was a universal acceptance of general Goodline. Everybody that knows him and knows everybody else, they said there's only one man for the job. So I have a feeling we have the right guy. But now I'd like to invite, secretary Hegseth and the general to please say a few words and describe the system a little bit. And we appreciate you being here. The press has really been very fair over the last period of a couple of months. I don't know what happened to you. It was so much more exciting the other way, but you've been very, very fair. We have very high poll numbers, the highest we've ever had, and I think we're doing a great job. We had a tremendous trip to The Middle East, as you know. It was a really amazing trip. And now I came home, and this is the one I was really looking forward to this day because this is very important for the success and even survival of our country. It's a pretty evil world out there. So this is something that goes a long way toward the survival of this great country. And as I said, we'll be discussing Canada. They wanna hook in and they wanna see if they can be a part of it. That sort of makes sense. I guess that's what I was talking about from day one, you know. It just automatically makes sense and it won't be very difficult to do, but they'll pay their fair share. Thank you very much everybody. And, Pete, go ahead. Sure. Speaker 1: Well, mister president, add this to the long and growing list of promises made and promises kept. Ultimately, this right here, the Golden Dome for America is game changer. It's a generational investment in the security of America and Americans. Mister president, you said we're gonna secure our southern border and get a % operational control after the previous administration allowed an invasion of people into our country. President Reagan, forty years ago, cast the vision for it. The technology wasn't there. Now it is, and you're following through to say, we will protect the homeland from cruise missiles, ballistic missiles, hypersonic missiles, drones, whether they're conventional or nuclear. And I it's not lost on me, sir, also that you had the vision to start the Space Force. And here we are in the when the others said we didn't need it, here we are in the Oval Office with one of the leaders of the Space Force in General Bootline leading the charge on putting in place a game changing Golden Dome for America. So sir, it's an honor to be a part of this bold initiative. We're gonna get to work on it. We have been since you signed that executive order on January 27. We've been fast forward on this, but we're here on this day, and this is just one stop in delivering this defense of the homeland, which is which is something you've charged us with doing, and we'll keep going until it is complete, sir. Speaker 2: General, please The president, today is a great day for the nation as we double down on protection of the homeland. As you're aware, our adversaries have become very capable and very intent on holding the homeland at risk. While we have been focused on piquing the peace overseas, our adversaries have been quickly modernizing their nuclear forces, building out ballistic missiles capable of hosting multiple warheads, building out hypersonic missiles capable of attacking The United States within an hour and traveling at 6,000 miles an hour, building cruise missiles that can navigate around our radar and our defenses, and building submarines that can sneak up on our shores, and worst yet, space weapons. It is time that we change that equation and start doubling down on the protection of the homeland. Golden Dome is a bold and aggressive approach to hurry up and protect the homeland from our adversaries. We owe it to our children and our children's children to protect them and afford them a quality of life that we have all grown up enjoying. Golden Dawn will afford that. I greatly appreciate your trust in me and your nomination in me and your trust in the team to deliver this. It is a great day for America. Speaker 0: And also, very importantly, it's we're the only ones that have this. We call it super technology. Nobody else has it. And nobody else has nearly really near what we have. So this is a very exciting project. This is something that will I mean, the general said close to a % protection, so that's something we need. So we have a lot of very exciting pictures. And on the other side, likewise, some just some great great presidents and great people in the these many of these because people were asking about them, many of them, almost all of them were in the vaults or nearby, but generally in the vaults downstairs where we have some great so it's it's very exciting. And the place has become a little different than you first saw it, Jim. Right? Yes. Much better. A little bit different. It's slightly better. But to think we had them in somewhere in the walls for over a hundred years. So it's pretty pretty cool stuff. Everybody knows Jim Banks. He's a great congressman, and now he's a great senator from Indiana. And he might wanna say a few words. Speaker 3: Well, your legacy with Space Force, mister president, is already big, but but the Golden Dome is gonna be an even bigger legacy for our country. And Indiana is gonna help you make it. The the space satellites that are made at Fort Wayne, Indiana by l three Harris, all the work done at Crane Navy base in Southern Indiana is gonna be a big part of it, and Hoosiers are very proud of that. But but nonetheless, it worked out really, really, really well because selling that. Because because North North Dakota has some great space assets and that that contributed to that and to Golden Dome. No surprise that you would be the one, the president that come along and put the homeland first. And and this is just one more example of that. We were talking earlier how in 2019 at the Pentagon, you laid out a speech about the missile defense review Right. That had all these principles on missile defense. You articulated then during your first term, and now the Golden Dome is all of that. So you're continuing to lead. We really appreciate it. You know, the the congress is stepping up as you mentioned right now in the budget reconciliation bill. Reconciliation bill. $25,000,000,000 for the Golden Dome in what senator Kramer and senator Banks and I and many others were working on our and I briefed you on this before, sir, on our Golden Dome Act, which we think will have in terms of legislation that can help cement what you're doing right here, getting the congress behind it, not just with the funding, but with authorization. So we're working closely with secretary Hagsef, general Gutlein, and the whole team. So we're very honored to be here, sir. And, you know, Alaska is the cornerstone of missile defense right now in terms of ground based missile interceptors Right. In terms of radar systems and track incoming missiles. So my state is honored to continue to play a critical role in all of this and build on it. And we're really excited to be here. Thank you. Speaker 0: Thank you very much, Dan. Okay. Any questions? Speaker 6: Mister president, you had mentioned at beginning of your remarks that this was a campaign promise of yours. Have military commanders asked for this system specifically? Because NORAD had said previously that the current system was adequate. So what does this get The United States Speaker 0: Somebody said that Speaker 6: it's an issue Speaker 0: as I did before. There really is no current system. We have, certain areas of missiles and certain missile defense, but there's no system. We just have some very capable weapons that, hopefully, we never have to use, but we have some very capable weapons. Now this is a different league. There's never been anything like this. This is something that's gonna be very protective. I think you can rest assured there'll be nothing like this. Nobody else is capable of building it either. Speaker 6: What's the thing the military commanders you for? Did did did they Speaker 7: ask you to to do this? Speaker 0: Well, let me do it differently. I suggested it, and they all said, we love the idea, sir. Speaker 7: That's right. Speaker 0: It's the way it's gotta be. Right? But they want it, and they wanted it badly once it was suggested. I don't know if they ever thought they would be lucky enough to have it, but, we were able to get it done. And we have all the funding, so pretty much tucked away. Think most people feel it's very important to have. Speaker 8: Yeah, please. Thank you, mister president. When you first announced this idea, critics said it would be prohibitively expensive, potentially ineffective, and could trigger an arms race in space. What do you say to those critics about that? Speaker 0: Well, the wrong is about as close to perfect as you can have in terms of real production. I told you Canada wants to be a part of it, which be, you know, fairly small expansion. But we'll work with them on pricing. We'll be dealing with them on pricing. They know about it very much. They've asked to be a part of it, actually. They've asked us to be a part of it. I think it's something that is great. If you can afford to do it, we can afford to do it. You know, we took in $5,100,000,000,000 in the last four days in The Middle East. And when you think about it, that's this is a tiny fraction of that. But we make it all here. We're gonna make it all here. We have when I I will tell you, an adversary told me, a very big adversary told me the most brilliant people in the world are Silicon Valley. He said, we cannot duplicate them. We duplicate them. We can't. This was somebody that I won't tell you who it is, but you'd be amazed. We have the most brilliant minds in the world doing this kind of thing, the equipment, the space, the computers, everything. But he said that we just can't duplicate what you have there in Silicon Valley. We never have been able to. And this is a very strong, group of people and very strong minds, but they can't. So we have things that nobody else can have. You see what we've done helping Israel with that. You probably wouldn't have an Israel. They launched probably 500 missiles altogether, and I think one half of a missile got through. And that was only falling to the ground of scrap metal. It's, pretty amazing. And this is a this is, in terms of technology, far advanced from that system. Speaker 8: And just one follow-up on the adversaries. Have you addressed Russia's ventures in space with a space based nuclear weapon and told Putin to stop in your conversations with him? Speaker 0: We haven't discussed it, but at the right time, we will. Yeah. Speaker 7: But the president The Russians Russians The Americans The goal of keeping Americans safe with this. Can you talk about the timeline? How long will this take to complete? Speaker 0: We think it's gonna be about a little bit less than three years, and we'll have a big phase in very early. You know, we're starting immediately with $25,000,000,000. It'll cost about a hundred and $75,000,000,000 completed, but we think in two and a half to three years. Speaker 7: Are you that you can get the funding needed from congress globally? Speaker 0: It's amazing how easy this one is to fund. You know, some funding is tough and some is easy. When we say we're gonna save everyone's lives in a crazy world, it seems to be very easy to get. Yeah. We've already spoken to everybody who we have to speak to. Everybody's in I would say, Dan, everybody's in line here. Speaker 5: Right? Yes, sir. 25,000,000,000 is a down payment in the budget reconciliation bill right now. Speaker 4: Yeah. So I think Mister president, on Russia Speaker 0: People actually love it. Speaker 4: Mister president, on Russia, are you worried about the reports on a military buildup along Speaker 0: the borders towards Finland and Norway? No. I don't I don't worry about that at all. They're gonna be very safe. Those are two countries that are gonna be very safe. Speaker 4: And the second reason, sir, if I may. Zelensky Volodymyr Zelensky is saying today that he's hoping for you to impose new sanctions on Russia. Speaker 0: Are you considering that? Well, that's gonna be my determination. That's gonna That's gonna be nobody else's determination. We'll see how Russia behaves. We see what's gonna happen. Speaker 4: You know, we have a Speaker 0: pretty we have a pretty, critical time right now. I had a talk yesterday for two and a half hours with president Putin, as you know. I also spoke to all of the European or to many of them, leaders, but they were representing the whole. And, I think we had very good conversations yesterday. Please. Speaker 7: Thanks, mister president. What companies have asked to be involved in building this system, and have you decided on who will be building it at Speaker 0: all? Yeah. I think what I'll let you answer that. You can mention some of your yours from Alaska is involved. And Alaska is a big part of it because, locationally, they're sort of perfect. Think that's your first line of defense in certain instances. And Kevin will tell you that his state's involved. But, honestly, all Georgia is gonna be very big. Florida is gonna be very big. They're all gonna be very big. Jim, do wanna talk about Indiana? Speaker 3: Yeah. In Fort Wayne, Indiana where I live, we make all the space satellites at l three Harris. Across the board, we we're the top manufacturing state in the country. By the way, the tariffs have been very good for auto manufacturing. Speaker 0: They've been so good. Speaker 3: But this is gonna be really good for the defense industry in my state. And there there there's a there's so much money involved here. There are there are gonna be a lot of American companies involved in making the gold Speaker 0: You might also say you're talking about the tariffs. Here's some of the biggest auto plants in the world moving into Indiana only for one reason, maybe two reasons, November 5 and the tariffs. Okay. Yes, sir. But the tariffs have driven tremendous tremendous business into this country. But you have one of the biggest in the world being Speaker 3: The Honda Civics. Right. The new Honda Civic made in Indiana. GM's added jobs. Eli Lilly moving pharmaceutical manufacturing from China to The United States, Twenty Seven Billion Dollars. You go on and on with good news in Indiana and across the country because of the tariffs. Speaker 0: Our country was cold as ice a year ago, and now we have the hottest country in the world. This is the hottest country in the world. Nobody even close. If you look at even this last trip that I made, the respect that is paid to our country. We've went from being, laughed at all over the world, and now we're the hottest country in the world by far. Dan, go ahead, please. Speaker 5: Yes, sir, mister president. I I think when you look at the system that you've laid out, it's a idea in your executive order of a layered defense. So you have initial ground based missile interceptors, are made by some of the big defense companies, Lockheed, Martin, Raytheon. But the beauty of your vision, mister president, is that it's layered, it's open architecture, and it goes up into space. So this is gonna be some of the new defense tech companies that are very interested in it and can bring missile defense at a cost that I don't think you said it, mister president, is unimaginable in terms of how much lower the cost is. So it's all across the board in terms of companies. Senator Kramer and I just met with a bunch from last week that are interested in this. And you said it earlier, mister president, our technology sector is head and shoulders above any other place in the world, and they're gonna be a key part of this. And I think that's why it makes it so exciting. Speaker 4: Mister president, I Speaker 0: think one Speaker 4: of the things that's and you alluded to this, the new autonomous space age defense ecosystem is more about Silicon Valley than it is about big big metal. Right? And and so what's exciting about this is it makes it available to everybody to to participate, to compete big companies, midsize companies, small companies. But general Gutlein is the perfect person again to sort all that out because he understands how it has to work together ultimately. Speaker 0: And, Pete, may we close with you? We have been discussing this for a long time. Pete and I used to discuss it when I was gonna go on a show that he did very well and had tremendous ratings, but all he wanted to talk about was the military. He didn't wanna talk about anything else. We used to talk about this. How about you closing it out? Speaker 1: Yes, sir. I mean, like I said, without your vision, willing to say and do things when other people wanted to look away and pretend like the threat didn't exist, or we focused on foreign adventurism, some other threat that we've been told is affecting us. When you looked at the data, sir, from the Russia to the communist Chinese and other, their capabilities, what they're trying to do to supersede us and threaten us, how do we find the best innovators, military leaders, the best companies, tech companies? You mentioned open architecture. That's exactly right. So multiple companies could pour into this, sir. It's a layered defense. So if you miss at one, you catch at the next. And it integrates existing technologies that can speak to each other so it moves quickly while also investing in further ranging space based interceptors. So our our enemies, our adversaries are gonna pay a lot of attention to this just like they have to president Trump from day one. So you're defending the homeland, defending the American people. It's gonna benefit my kids, grandkids, all of ours in this room. So thank you for your leadership. In charge Speaker 3: of it Speaker 1: as fast as we can. Speaker 0: Very good. Great job, everybody. Speaker 0: We begin this Sunday morning with increasing calls to investigate and possibly arrest Jim Comey after the former FBI director posted an image on social media suggesting a call to assassinate president Trump. Comey was interviewed by the secret service on Friday and is now facing a string of federal probes after he posted an image of a beach scene with seashells arranged in the numbers eighty six forty seven, writing this, cool shell formation on my beach walk. The number 86 typically refers to elimination, and president Trump is, of course, the forty seventh president. After much public outcry on social media, Comey took down the post claiming he was not aware that 86 refers to eliminating something and that he opposes violence. There have already been two assassination attempts on president Trump's life, which are still under investigation by the FBI. After the incident, new FBI director Kash Patel told me he is in the middle of an active investigation into this matter. Days earlier, the two walked us through Comey's weaponization of the FBI, Cash Patel and Dan Bongino, as well as some of the other important cases that they are working on, including drug and human trafficking cells operating in America today, the events of January 6, and Jeffrey Epstein's death. But the director began by praising his 30,000 plus colleagues at the FBI during this National Police Week. Speaker 1: It's police week, Maria, and so it's a really momentous occasion for law enforcement, for for the sacrifice they put in for the country. The deputy and I have been going to events all week and the, you know, the most painful part is being with the families of the fallen. But we're here to remind America that there's a consequence to the freedom that they have and there's good men and women that keep stepping up for that fight. So, you know, it's a big deal that you're here on police week. Speaker 0: Thank you. And I saw the Honor Wall and I wanna walk past that with you. I unfortunately was on Wall Street on nine eleven and my heart goes out to the families who've lost their loved ones. Dan? Speaker 2: Yeah. 09/11. I was an agent on 09/11 with the Secret Service, and I just remember as you probably do, even from the media perspective, the chaos. Remember nothing worked like we thought it was gonna work. So the director and I, we've both been deeply inspired obviously by as everyone in America was by that by tragic horrible incident. But I know when Cash and I are sitting there in the morning, that is the single motivating factor for us is keep the homeland safe. That is priority number one. Speaker 0: And I wanna ask you about that. Now I'll I'll go into some of the specifics. But, director, you've said many times that the FBI has been politicized. Speaker 1: Mhmm. Speaker 0: So what are your plans to rebuild trust in this fine institution and depoliticize the FBI? Speaker 1: So we have a multipart process. First of all, our priorities, simple, crush violent crime, defend the homeland, rigorous organizational accountability, and the fourth, which leads directly to your question, aggressive constitutional oversight with congress. The way we rebuild trust is we already have the men and women here in the rank and file that signed up to be cops, that signed up to be intel analysts, that signed up to be special support staff that wanna do the work. That's why we're sending them into the field. We can talk about that later. What we need America to know is that this place was politicized, and congress has rightfully requested the documents from crossfire hurricane to January 6 to the Richmond Catholic memo and so much more. But now finally, Americans are reading for themselves the documentation where a very select few leaders in the former FBI decided to politicize it. We don't need me and the deputy telling you it's politicized. We want the American people to read it, and now they are. Speaker 0: And and I know I lived with it for you. I watched it with you and Devin Nunes when you were truth tellers on all of this, and you were as well, Deb, throughout the Russia collusion story and the rest. Speaker 1: Look. I can speak to the folks that were in our seats, our predecessors, and they intentionally failed the American public by putting on the biggest DC deception game we've ever seen. They said the FBI was the most storied institution for law enforcement, and it was. And it will be again very soon. But when the likes of Comey and McCabe and Strach and company came in here with the James Bakers of the world and intentionally lied to a federal court only to rig a presidential election by lying to the American public and using taxpayer dollars likely illegally to fund this entire operation and then withhold exculpatory information from a federal court that I used to appear for to manhunt terrorists, that's what broke the FBI. And then when they were caught, they lied about it. And you and a few others like Dan and others were brave enough to cover it six, seven, eight years ago. And we're still talking about it today because as congress is working rigorously with us, the crossfire hurricane documents are coming fast and hard, and they're being sent there unredacted so we can have full accountability. And that's how you restore what the the trust that was lost, to the American public when it comes to the FBI. Speaker 0: Yeah. But come on, director, with all due respect, we've been talking about this for a long time, and I've been demanding accountability for many, many years. One of the you mentioned Comey, Strach, and the rest. They've got TV shows. They've got media platforms. They're fine. There's been no accountability. Speaker 1: Well, look. It's a fair criticism, but what I will tell people is we weren't here in the FBI in the last five years when we had statute of limitations that were still in play we could have investigated criminal conduct. Most of these statute limitations are five years old. And we will investigate criminal conduct where we find a righteous case to do so and the law and the facts allow us to. But a lot of it we're precluded from. So we'll take the criticism, and it's rightfully so. Like, could we have done more in the past? Sure. People before us could have. But what we can do now is continue to put out the documents and the information that these people withheld from the American public. And I'm just telling you right now, as much as we know about crossfire hurricane, he and I just found out more last week, and we're continuing to work with congress to put those documents out. That's how vindictive and vicious the former leadership structure here was. Not only did they bastardize the FISA process in Latin American public, they withheld and hid documentation and put it in rooms where people weren't supposed to look. And it's a good thing we're here now to clean it up and you're about to see a wave of transparency. Speaker 0: What do you mean? Speaker 1: Just give us about a week or two. Speaker 0: Okay. Well well, I can tell you right now that the judge that gave us smack on the wrist on the one agent that lied and, you know, misled the American people, that's the same judge who's back and stopping stopping Donald Trump from doing things. Speaker 1: Very simply, the FBI's prior leadership left us an institution, that is a police force for America and the world, that allowed a fentanyl overdose to occur and kill an American citizen every seven minutes. That prior FBI's leadership, Comey McCabe, left us an FBI that allowed for a woman or child to be raped every six and a half minutes in this country. That same leadership structure left us an FBI that permitted a man or woman to be killed twice an hour in this country. That's our response to them. When I go to congress and I go to the hill, I say, hey. I'm not policing your neighborhood because it's a republican or democratic. I'm asking you for help on what your priorities are and what your resources needs are and where you need training, and we're gonna send them to you. That's why we're putting 1,500 FBI employees into the field and outside of Washington DC. Now if the Democrats, wanna play politics with that, the they're the elected officials. They get to say what they want. But yelling at me and Bongino, we could take it all day long. Speaker 0: I don't even understand why. Why did they do that? I mean, why put the FBI and its reputation at risk? What it was just just to win an election? Why? Speaker 2: Because they're weak. Because they're weak. I hate weak people. I can't stand it. They didn't have we're on TV, so I already said b s, Juan. So but they didn't have the guts, the courage, or the character to do the right thing. They did the easy thing. Donald Trump became a convenient political football. They used they thought they could leverage. They thought they'd get they they thought with the media on their side that they'd get away with it. Speaker 0: I know that there are cells, you know, drug trafficking cells and human trafficking cells. How significant is this in America? It's everywhere. I mean, when you open up the border, like, look, that's not a political statement. Speaker 1: The border was open for four years. So what happens is crime metastasizes. What happens is you have hundreds of thousands of illegals come across, and a bunch of them are really bad criminals. Not all of them, but a bunch of them. And then they nest into societies, And this is why we're rolling out Mexican street gang task forces across the country because it's not the international gangs that are just the problem. It's these inner city gangs that exist in one or two towns here and there and have metastasized and taken over the drug trade, the sex trafficking trade, the child force label trade, and the gang trade. They are all in, and no one has been focusing on them because our cities and our elected leadership has allowed them to live without being policed. But that's over now that Dan and I are in the seat. Speaker 0: This is so scary. What do you wanna say to families out there, mothers who are afraid for their young girls that they may get taken? Speaker 2: I wanna put everyone at ease watching this today. There is I hate cliches, but there really is a new sheriff in town. Miss Ames Donald j Trump, this administration in conjunction with General Bondi and our director, Kash Patel, I am in the briefing, Maria, with the five of us. Emil, PDAG, Todd, the DAG, AG, Kash and me, every morning over at DOJ. The attitude every morning from the president on down. He, the president of The United States, wants this FBI to be able to in one month, six months, a year, or two years. Wants to be able to get out in front of the American people and say, your lives are noticeably different. He doesn't want fairy tales, Aesop's fables. He doesn't want any of that stuff. He wants people to be able to touch it and feel it. I don't care if you're in Stuart, Florida or Harlem, New York. He wants you to walk outside and say, wow. My neighborhood does look different. Speaker 0: Where are where are the biggest cells in in the country? And how does it work? Are there spotters? Like, how does it work? Speaker 1: It's it's based on a variety of factors. So when it comes to trafficking, you gotta look at the interstate system and look at the intersections of the interstate system running through the Midwest and across the country. Then you just gotta look for hard evidence. I didn't know this till my confirmation process, but Memphis, Tennessee is the homicide capital of America per capita. Didn't know that. We have a problem there. We're now addressing it. We're rolling out one of our task forces in state of Tennessee, but we also know that Ohio possesses the roadway system where the trafficking is through the roof just because of the interstate. So you have to get out there in the field, not just let the FBI agents and intel folks get out there and do the work, but partner with state and local law enforcement, which is a priority, and tribal law enforcement. That's a big, big deal for us. We are not forgetting about Indian country. They suffer from the same violent crime that we do in the rest of America, and we're gonna help them. And that's how you learn the ground based level facts that you need to to deploy your assets. We're not coming up with anything fancy. We're just attacking the problem, but we're smart enough to go after the information and say, that's where the problem is because you told us it's there. Now we know we're going. Speaker 0: That that's interesting. What about the big cities? I mean, we've heard about Trendy Aragua being in New York City. Speaker 2: Yeah. We're we're about to ruin your summer if you're a bad guy. So I'm just warning you now, like, don't buy movie tickets because you're probably not gonna cash them in. So the director and I put something together in conjunction with our DOJ partners, General Bondi and Dag Blanche, actually, this morning. And if you're a violent criminal, this FBI under our leadership, we do we don't care who gets a credit. All we care about is making your streets safer, actually safer. Speaker 0: Coming up, the assassination attempts on president Trump's life. Why don't we know more today, more than a year later, as we continue our exclusive from the FBI. Welcome back. President Trump is proposing spending cuts across most federal agencies including the FBI. As we continue our exclusive interview, FBI director Kash Patel told me the FBI's real estate portfolio is about to shrink dramatically, but the mission will not change. I wanna get to a few specifics, and I know you can't talk about any active investigation. So we are and our viewers understand that. But how come we don't have more information on the assassination attempts on president Trump? Speaker 1: There's two reasons to open ongoing prosecutions. So two of the investigations are obviously closed because the individuals are dead, but there's two live prosecutions. And so the we can't get ahead of the federal court case. A lot of that information will come out in the federal court cases, but we have personally invested our time in making sure that we have looked at all the any possible international connections to terrorism and adversaries alike. And we've both been down to Quantico. We've both done the laboratory testing. We've both seen the explosives analysis. We've both seen the firearm and physically held it. We are all in on these investigations. Speaker 0: Are we gonna be surprised at what you learned? Speaker 2: You know what Maria? Cash is not kidding. We've been personally briefed extensively on every single detail, nugget, tendril of this case. One is actively in court right now. So out of respect for the case, it's probably more appropriate that I stay quiet on that. However, I'm not gonna tell people what they wanna hear. I'm gonna tell you the truth. And whether whether you like it or not is up to you. If there was a big explosive there there. Right? Given my history as a secret service agent and my personal friendship as a director does with the president. Give me one logical sensible reason we would not have to if you can think of one, there isn't. There isn't there in some of these cases, the there you're looking for is not there. And I know people I get it. I understand. It's not there. If it was there, we would have told you. Speaker 0: Well, the other issue that's been talked about recently is this mortgage fraud and the FBI opening a formal case against Leticia James. Speaker 1: So, again, ongoing cases, and we take our ongoing investigations very seriously because we don't wanna do what our predecessors did, is talk about them ad infinitum in the public and then nothing happens. This case, I can tell you, is being handled by our professional pros who are subject matter experts reporting directly to headquarters, which reports to Dan and I. This case along with others because it is a case of great public importance. And unlike other leaders who previously sat in these seats, we don't prejudge any case. We don't care what party elected you to what. It doesn't matter to us. It's irrelevant. If you broke the law, we are gonna find out and we are gonna investigate you, and then we are gonna discuss that matter with the Department of Justice. And this is one of the things that if your viewers take away nothing else from this interview. The FBI does not make prosecutorial decisions. You asked in the beginning how the FBI was weaponized. Well, the FBI hijacked the constitutional responsibility of the Department of Justice and the attorney general, and James Comey and others specifically decided what cases to prosecute and not prosecute. Don't believe me? Go to the videotape and the Hillary Clinton investigation. We don't decide prosecutions and neither does any agent or intel analyst. We have great partners under general Bondi. We work with them and discuss the matter with them, but the prosecutor decision is with them. Speaker 0: So is there a directive now to focus on fighting real crime, look at illegal migration, look at the sex trafficking, and scale back on the white collar business type crime? Speaker 1: I don't wanna say that we were gonna, quote, unquote, scale back. What we do is we look at the intelligence, and we rely on our 36,000 employees to say, this is where stuff's going wrong. But right now, the reality of where stuff's going wrong more, more than counterterrorism, which is my wheelhouse and my background, is the narcotics industry and the sex trafficking industry. So there's more and more resources put on that and on the removal proceedings, we're working with our partners at DHS on. That's just the reality today. But that's not to say we're forgetting about white collar crime and counterterrorism. Speaker 0: That's what you said. You said if you're hurting a child, taking away a child's innocence, we're coming for you. Speaker 2: Yeah. We had knock at the door. It's on Amazon. That's gonna be us. This is a huge job. And, Maria, not only does it destroy innocence. I said to everyone in the room, say week two or three when Kesh and I put restoring justice together to go get these mutts off the street, these kiddie pornographers and these these animals. Right? I said to everyone in the room, I said, you know why is it gonna matter to America? Cause everyone in the room is a child or a parent. Right? There's no immaculate conceptions here. Right? I love Jesus, but there's no one in the room. Right? I said, this matters. And not only that, it creates generational crime. Because abused kids then become abusers in a lot of these cases. I said, we have a chance right now. I said, we gotta go make their lives painful, these bad guys. And we went and we locked up in a month, what, 400? We saved a 15 kids and you haven't even seen the beginning because those 400, a lot of them are talking. And when you log on to that network next, you have no idea what we're doing. You think you're safe in your dark web? I promise, you are absolutely not safe. You have no idea what we can do. Speaker 0: Are you seeing an increase in the number of potential agents wanting to come in and work with you? Speaker 1: Look. The FBI is 38,000 when we're fully manned, which we're not. In the National Capital Region, in the 50 mile radius around Washington DC, there were 11,000 FBI employees. That's like a third of the workforce. A third of the crime doesn't happen here. So we're taking 1,500 of those folks and moving them out. Every state's getting a plus up. And I think when we do things like that, we inspire folks in America to become intel analysts and agents and say, we wanna go work at the FBI because we wanna go fight violent crime, and we wanna get sent out into the country to do it. And that's what we're doing in the next three, six, nine months. We're gonna do that hard. And, you know, I didn't know that I was gonna do this, but I'm gonna announce it on your show anyway. This FBI is leaving the Hoover Building because this building is unsafe for our workforce, and we want the Speaker 2: workforce gave up a Speaker 1: big nugget there. Want, but we want the American men and women to know, if you're gonna come work at the premier law enforcement agency in the world, we're gonna give you a building that's commensurate with that, and that's not this place. Speaker 0: I mean, the Trump administration has proposed a $500,000,000 cut to the FBI's funding for 2026. How are you going to maintain the effectiveness if you don't have the resources? Speaker 1: We gotta get smart and stop wasting money. We gotta stop thinking up fantasies in Maryland and building $5,000,000,000 new buildings. We have people who are able to do the job on the budgets we're given, and we are gonna work with the president and his team because he and his team know they have to budget for an entire government. I just gotta worry about one agency, so does he. And their job is 10 times harder than ours. They have to say DOD's gotta get this. What about DOT? What about justice and marshals, and what about treasury? So we know that they are smartly putting together a budget, and we also know that there's ramifications from people here that weaponize this place and a cost to that. We're always gonna fight for our personnel and for as much money as we can get, but I think when we show you real time examples of getting out of places like this because just to fix this building would cost billions of dollars only for a couple years of runway. It shows you that we're serious about saving and being good stewards of the taxpayer dollars and hiring more agents instead of building new buildings. Speaker 0: So what are your colleagues saying about this? That you're gonna get out of the Hoover Building? Speaker 2: Well, he's a he's a man of his word. I mean, he he said that he was interested in shutting down Hoover, and I I don't think people took him seriously. And it's been two months, and I I think it's good that he broke it on your show because me and him were on the tour yesterday of an alternate facility where the building we're looking at, and everyone was taking pictures, and they knew something was up because me and him were there. So that's good you guys got it first. But Cash could have made a pretty easy decision which is go up to congress and say, hey, you know what? We're going to go back and ask for this billion dollar new facility. And you know what he said? He said, go find this a place already up and running. We can go in. We're going to it's going to need some upgrades, you know, skiffs where we can talk, safes, that kind of thing. Obviously, some security upgrades in the front. We are saving the taxpayer a fortune. Speaker 0: So you're gonna move 1,000 employees from Washington to field offices across the country? 1,500. 15 hundred. Speaker 1: We are. We are already launched that plan, and we've looked at Speaker 0: They're going to Alabama? Speaker 1: Well, so Redstone Arsenal is one of the crown jewels of the FBI, and it's a it's on a military campus of 38,000 acres in Huntsville, Alabama. And the FBI built five new buildings there and a kinetic cyber training facility, a long range facility, our terrorism explosive device centers there. So when you go and you wanna become a new FBI agent, we send you to Quantico. When you're in the job for a couple years and you need advanced training, you go to Huntsville. And because we've had new buildings and new structures already there, we need our outdated facilities and personnel to move to Huntsville where the training has been set up for them and fill those seats. We don't need to build new buildings elsewhere. So a chunk of them are going there because it's essentially headquarters too for lack of a better word. But the rest of the folks, we've looked at the map and we said, are the worst crime spots in America? That's how we're choosing where the agents and intel folks go. Then our leaders in the field are working with state, local, and tribal leaders to say, hey. We've got a serious problem on Navajo, or we've got a big deal going on outside of Chicago. Those agents and intel analysts are going there at their direction based on ground level intelligence. You wanna make your promotions, go make cases in the field, and you're getting promoted under this leadership structure. You don't have to come to Washington. One of the biggest cost saving things we did was we ended this TDY boondoggle to DC that has been institutionalized by prior leadership mandating you come here. And here's the kicker, not only do you get your salary, you get a per diem TDY for your entire eighteen month tour. That's over. Speaker 0: Next up, what really happened on January 6 and who really should be held accountable right after this. What actually happened on January 6? Speaker 1: So there is as it it seems that, I find myself in a similar situation as Russiagate. On January 6 in the prior Trump administration, I was the chief of staff to the Department of Defense. And I spent four years and a minor fortune litigating the truth because people politicized what actually happened on January 6. And we now know unequivocally that president Trump lawfully authorized the deployment of National Guard, me as the head of the office of secretary of defense with the secretary of defense took that action. When it finally came in, because it had to have the governor and mayor of DC's approval on it. That's the way the law works. And once it finally came in on January 6, remember we offered to them to them days beforehand, and they rejected it. We've put out the letters, your show has done great coverage showing how it was rejected. We mobilized the fastest coal star in Washington DC since World War two and the largest occupation of DC by the National Guard since the American Revolution. That's what happened on January 6, but what you and your viewers wanna know now that we've beat back that disinformation campaign with actual truth is what was the FBI doing? Well, we got answers coming. We just found a trove of information, and it's on its way to Capitol Hill right now. And they've asked, and they're getting them, and you're getting answers on January 6. You're getting answers on what sourcing was utilized, what money was utilized, how many assets were utilized, who made those decisions. You're getting it. We can only control the FBI, but you're getting it from the FBI. Speaker 0: Were there FBI agents undercover egging people on? Speaker 1: Like I said, that answer is coming and it's on its way to congress. Speaker 2: You're about to I saw it. I saw the portfolio of information. We dug far and wide to find it. And, I'm pretty sure now, we have a conclusive, definitive answer. But, you you and the public are gonna have it. You're gonna see it in writing over to Capitol Hill. But, I just wanna be sure we're clear, having been an agent and a police officer. There is a difference between an agent. I know you know this. I don't mean to sound ridiculous. An agent, meaning a trained GS eighteen eleven federal agent and a source or an asset. There's a difference. So when you see the material, which I promise you is coming. Again, I'm not asking you to trust us. I know it's coming because I saw it yesterday. When you see it, I I just want you to understand that that it's not an apology for anything. Speaker 0: Thank you. Speaker 2: But there's a difference between agents and assets. And I I just hope when people put that information out there, they make the distinction. Not that it's better or worse, but there's a a distinction there. Speaker 0: It's a very important distinction. Speaker 1: I wanna level set here. I want the American public to go back and look at what our predecessors stated to congress under oath, that there were no FBI sources utilized in and around January 6. I'm gonna leave it at that, but go play the videotape and look for this material coming to congress. Speaker 0: You said Jeffrey Epstein committed suicide. People don't believe it. Speaker 1: Well, I mean, They have a right to their opinion, but as someone who has worked as a public defender, as a prosecutor, who's been in that prison system, who's been in the Metropolitan Detention Center, who's been in segregated housing, You know a suicide when you see one and that's what that was. Speaker 2: He killed himself. You again, you want me to I've I've I've seen the whole file. He killed himself. Speaker 0: I know it's hard work. But you promoted Steven Jensen, the architect of the FBI's overzealous January 6 investigation. Speaker 1: I want the American public to realize what we did. And at the end of the day, remember, Maria, there's a chain of command here. So you can fight back your chain of command to a certain degree before they fire. And Steve Jensen and other folks were promoted because they embody what the American public demands of FBI agents. Speaker 2: To get to the bottom of something like January 6 and the pipe bomber case, for example, You need three things. You need people, you need information, and you need people with information. I'll allow the public to put that together and just wait and you'll see. Nothing we're doing, nothing is by accident. Speaker 1: People who are quote unquote supposedly on the side of reporting truthfully should take a look at this instance because they are setting up circular firing squads. And Dan and I have already told the FBI, every employee that acted appropriately, we are gonna defend you to the hill, literally, no matter the consequences. But for the media who's gone through the disinformation cycle of Russiagate, of January 6, for them to come in the air and take the clickbait and write articles based on half truths doesn't hurt us. This is what I'll tell you something we I didn't I didn't think we're gonna get into today. But every morning, we tell our leadership cadre when we sit down with them. Nothing written in the media is going to affect him or me. Speaker 0: Look, you said illegal illegal alien criminals and child predators are next in your ongoing crackdown. Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. Speaker 0: How are you gonna do it? Speaker 2: The illegal immigration problem with 20,000,000 people came in. Yeah. Okay. Most of them probably were here to work in it, but a lot of them weren't. They were here to traffic in kids and fentanyl. If you were here illegally, the administration's approach, which the director and I have actioned through the agents in the field is listen, I'm speaking a bit hyperbolically, but correct me if I'm wrong. You're the lawyer. We're giving you about five minutes to cooperate. If you're here illegally, five minutes, you're out. Title eight, AEA, whatever we've got. We're not wasting an agent who's making, you know, a decent salary who we train. We're not wasting three weeks of his time to beg you for information for a profit. We're not. We're kicking you out. The president's gonna seal the border. In the Speaker 1: first two, three months that we've been in the seat under Donald Trump's administration, he has sealed the border. He has stopped border crossings. So where's all the fentanyl coming from still? Where's the trafficking coming from still? Where is all where are all the narco traffickers going to keep bringing this stuff into the country? The northern border. Our adversaries have partnered up with the CCP and others, Russia, Iran, on a variety of different criminal enterprises, and they're going and they're sailing around to Vancouver and coming in by air. And the sheer tyranny of distance of the northern border and the lack of cooperation from federal authorities in prior administrations to actually firm up that northern border is what's causing a continuation of violent crime. Now we're focused on it, and we're calling our state and local law enforcement partners up there. But you know who has to get to step in is Canada because they're making it up there and shipping it down here. And I don't care about getting into this debate of making someone the fifty first state or not, but they are our partner in the North. And say what you want about Mexico, but they helped us seal the southern border. The facts speak for themselves. The border that's open, I'll give you a statistic that I gave to congress that nobody was paying attention to. Over 300 known or suspected terrorists crossed into this country last year illegally. Known or suspected terrorists, not illegals. Not just illegals. Known or suspected terrorists. Eighty five percent of them came in through the northern border. Wow. This year, a hundred known or suspected terrorists have crossed into this country illegally. 64 are south and north. Speaker 0: General, we've hit on so much today, and I really appreciate your time. Speaker 1: I'm so happy that we were able to sit down with you so your viewers can see it. We're not doing a lot of media, and we're gonna continue to not do a lot of media. Those tents help with the pressure on the fire hydrants and the hills of Palisades. And because we were pushing so much water in our trunk line, and so much water was being used before it can't get to the tents, we were not able to fill the tents fast enough. So the consumption of water was faster than we can provide water in a trunk line. So I wanna make sure that you understand there's water on the trunk line. It just cannot get off the hill because we cannot fill the tanks fast enough. Speaker 1: What is the number of hydrants that could not get water because of these pressure issues? What percentage of the system in Pacific Palisades wasn't getting, service at that point? Speaker 0: We, we were trying to keep water at all altitudes on the Palisades, and then I think about 3 in the morning, that's when, the hydrants went dry. Above the Brentwood area, we are able to push water on the on that, on that trunk line on on the east side of that, and we have some water on higher elevations, 16 to 18,000, but at 3,000, all of the at 3 AM, all of the, fire hydrants went dry in the palisades. What are we doing now? We're we're sending about 20 water tanks for our construction crews full of water to support the fire department. We identified other areas in our system where our tanks our tankers can't refill. It takes about 30 minutes to refill about 4,000 gallons of water, and we're constantly moving that water to the fire department to get them as much water as we can. For the people on, ZIP code 90272, because we're pushing the water system so hard, our water quality is decreasing. So we're gonna be issuing a boil water notice this morning, and that will extend for about 48 hours. The water quality is low. We have a lot of ash in our system. And so please, if you're gonna be drinking water, you need to boil the water. Those boil waters will continue to increase as the system starts restoring.

So the question as far as why I'm here. To me, you know, a lot of the other conflicts are gray, but this conflict is definitely black and white. This is about good versus evil. This is a story book. You know, any movie we ever watched, this is definitely evil against good. I mean, we're battling a situation here where, you know, the Ukrainians and the rest of the world are caring and kind and and generous and and unselfish and and take care of one another. And it's just a matter of you know, we need to stand up for that. That is the most important thing in the world is just to show human beings that we're kind and we're caring and that we take care of one another and that the world is united so that we feed each other and make sure that, you know, we we all move forward as as one collective whole unit. So, you know, we feel the pain of of one country's failure and their conflicts and we enjoy the successes of of other countries that are doing good and and we all work together. And for some reason, Russia does not grasp this concept that we're we're all one unit and we have to get along and work together and and and and be normal human beings. This is 2022. We have to work together. It's it's it seems asinine that we have a a leader in a country that does not understand the concept of of being unselfish and being generous and being kind and just the basic moral values that that are required by human beings these days. It blows my mind. Speaker 0: And, what are you doing here in Ukraine? Speaker 1: My initial goal was to come fight. I think, you know, everybody around the globe should be motivated to come here and support the Ukrainians and support the army no matter what gender, age, anything. Everybody should be here supporting the army, but I'm 56 so initially they're like, well, I have no military experience. So they're like, you're not an ideal candidate. So they said, not right this minute. So plan b was to come here to Kyiv and promote getting more people here. You know, we need 1,000 and 1,000 and thousands of people here fighting with the Ukrainians. We need we need, you know, we've got a 190 countries around the world and we need 1,000 from from all of them. If if the governments will not send their official military, then we civilians have to pick up the torch and make this thing happen. And we've gotten some wonderful people here, but it's a small fraction of the number that should be here. If we have 5,000, you know, to to 10,000 people here fighting, you know, that is just a minuscule amount of the 5,000,000,000 people on the globe. You know, we need everyone here fighting. That's that's why I'm in Kyiv. So, every project that I promote is about getting people here to support the Ukrainians. We're at a critical juncture in this war where we are sitting on the fence as far as whether good or evil is gonna win. You know, right now, we're looking at a situation where the world is is waning and it's and it's the thinking that this is important or not. And we're at a point where, you know, alright. Are we gonna stand for humanity? For human rights? For for everything that that that is good with the world? Or are we just gonna ignore it? You know, if we if everybody is complacent and doesn't join this this this fight, then guess who's gonna win? It might take 10 years, but we're gonna lose this battle if everyone around the globe does not stop what they're doing and get off the couch and come to Ukraine and then defend defend the human rights of everyone around the globe. This is the most important thing going on in the world today. So sitting around and letting life go on as normal and complaining about gas prices and complaining about, you know, your luxury life in whatever country you live in is unacceptable. As human beings, we must support each other. We cannot turn our backs on anyone around the world and expect the problem to go away. So I've been dealing with Russia for my entire life, you know. We had one period where it was okay, but now we've let it slip slip back into into terror terrorism. So it's just the world needs to respond, you know. The why world leaders are not sending military is beyond me. We're gonna have to elect new leaders the next go around that have a backbone and, you know, have the fortitude to say, hey. We're not gonna tolerate this type of behavior. This type of behavior is unacceptable anywhere, anywhere, any place. You know? So it's just it's it's totally unacceptable. So, you know, going and seeing the buildings that were burnt burned and and destroyed and things of that nature. I think more emotional for me is also is just talking to the guys that have come here. You know, when you talk to a 20 year old guy that sold everything he owns to come here and fight, That is heroism. You know, he's coming here to risk his life for humanity, for the Ukrainians. You know? Guys that sell everything they own to come here and support the Ukrainians while others sit at home and and and do nothing. You know? It's it's totally mind blowing how we have this divide of people that are selfless and courageous and wonderful and willing to sell everything they own to come here and support, you know, keep people from getting killed, to shelter kids and and protect Ukrainians, and others that just, you know, want to sit at home and not. It's just it it, you know, it's an indictment of our entire human society to say, hey. You know, where do we stand? Do we do we stand for for good? Or or do we just not care? I mean, does the does the world not care? That's that's the feeling that I I wrestle with every day. Every day in my interactions with everybody. You know, every one of us is responsible for the outcome of this war. Every one of us, you know, by our actions and what we do. And, you know, when I call back home and say, hey, I need $5 so I can, you know, put some money together to get a vest for Ukrainian, and then I get no response. I'm like, I'm not sure that the world is as wonderful as I once thought it was. I had thought that everyone will respond, you know, very generously and unselfishly, and and, you know, you don't have to come. But, you know, if I ask for $5 to buy a vest vest to save a Ukrainian life, it seems like that would be a no brainer. But I I I I increasingly get more disappointed in in humanity. And, beginning to question whether or not we're gonna end up on the right side of this equation. Speaker 0: So you are working with the international legend? Speaker 1: Yes. Speaker 0: And, you are trying to convince people to help to donate and to join? Speaker 1: Yeah. Speaker 0: Yeah. My final, question is, what would you say to the people in order to convince them to join the international legion or to donate for it or to be involved in, in the humanitarian aid to Ukraine? Speaker 1: Right. Right. It's just just extremely important, the whole thing. As far as joining the military, you know, yes. If you have some military experience or know people with military experience, encouraging them to come and fight. We have units all over the place. So, you know, there was some leadership issues initially, but we've got so many units available to us, Georgian, Crimean, Ukrainian, territorial defense, foreign legion. We have, you know, so many paramilitary groups. I can put I'll put a 74 year old Japanese guy in the unit. So, you know, we have girls in units. So we have 2 2 girls that are in in the unit up the street. So any gender, any age, any skill level to no skill level. But, yeah, if you if you wanna fight, come here and see me, and and I'll put you in a unit so you can go fight. But regardless of that, we should have thousands upon thousands of people standing here with the Ukrainians. This this made the square, independent square, we should have millions of people in this square, filling the square from every country around the world. And while we don't, I don't understand. I'm here every day with all the flags from all the supporting countries, with the memorials for the people that have died. And, you know, I've had several people come, but just a handful. You know? So it's it's it blows my mind that I'm standing here alone without thousands of people from every country, from Asia, from Africa, from Australia, from from Canada, from everywhere in South America, every every place. Speaker 0: One of the most infamous Capitol riot defendants, but tonight, he's a defendant himself. State troopers say former federal prosecutor Patrick Scruggs stabbed someone on the Howard Franklin Bridge. And this happened after a series of crashes on the bridge Tuesday morning. Speaker 1: What a scene here. Scruggs worked as a prosecutor in Florida's middle district for more than 10 years. FOX thirteen's Evan Axelbank reports tonight on the chaos that led to that violent incident. Speaker 2: It all started with a driver passed out in the middle of the highway on the Howard Franklin Bridge and ended with a former federal prosecutor allegedly stabbing the man. Speaker 3: Pictures taken by Tara Eglinsky show Patrick Scruggs standing outside of a car in a 3 car pile up. Someone else's bloody hands are sticking out of a window. Speaker 4: He had a lot of blood on his arms and cuts on his arms, and I was trying to figure out what had caused that. Speaker 3: Troopers say Scruggs had bashed through that window and stabbed the man multiple times. Just before that, the man had been passed out while behind the wheel. His car stopped on the Howard Franklin Bridge. 2 Good Samaritans had also stopped and evidently startled him awake. He drove forward, hit the good Samaritan's car, and then drove into Scruggs' path. Troopers say that's when Scruggs stopped and took out his pocket knife. Speaker 4: It's just so sad that someone would react in that way. There's so much road rage nowadays. Speaker 3: Witnesses might not have expected it from Scruggs had they known he was a federal prosecutor for 10 years. He just left that job for a private practice. But while he served the US attorney's office in Tampa, he helped on high profile cases, including that of Adam Johnson, who stole the lectern from Nancy Pelosi's office during the Capitol insurrection. Speaker 2: His actions speaks to his actions and his actions only. We don't ever wanna see someone get out and, you know, commit some kind of violence like this, whether it be at a home, a restaurant, or on the highway. Speaker 3: Troopers also say Scruggs used the knife to scare the good Samaritans off when they tried to help the stabbing victim. Traffic was stopped for 3 hours, after which the former federal prosecutor was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. Speaker 4: It doesn't matter who he is. What he did was really, really scary, and the way he reacted there was really frightening. Speaker 3: Scruggs bonded out of jail after about 10 hours in custody.
