Justin Trudeau stated that Canada will never become part of the United States, emphasizing the benefits of trade and security between the two nations. In response, Elon Musk remarked that Trudeau is no longer the governor of Canada, implying his opinion is irrelevant.

@JustinTrudeau - Justin Trudeau

There isn’t a snowball’s chance in hell that Canada would become part of the United States. Workers and communities in both our countries benefit from being each other’s biggest trading and security partner.

@elonmusk - Elon Musk

@JustinTrudeau Girl, you’re not the governor of Canada anymore, so doesn’t matter what you say

We’re working with provinces and territories to make sure people can switch from home heating oil to electric heat pumps. Minister @SeamusORegan and I wanted to explain why that switch matters so much – and how we’re helping people through the process. Take a look: https://t.co/1QdXuUKKtF

Electric heat pumps are an efficient and affordable way to heat and cool homes. The government is working with provinces and territories to install heat pumps and phase out home heating with oil. Switching from heating oil to heat pumps can save an average of $2,500 per year. Heat pumps use technology similar to fridges and air conditioners, drawing in heat and cool air as needed. They are cleaner and cheaper, making them a better option. The government's plan includes providing free heat pumps and an additional $2,250 for lower-income households. For others, they will work out payment plans to make it more affordable. This initiative is part of the government's efforts to make life more affordable and fight climate change.

Speaker 0: Electric heat pumps. They're an efficient, affordable, cleaner way to both heat and cool your home. That's why everyone's talking about that. We've been working with provinces and territories right across the entry, to make sure we're installing heat pumps and phasing out home heating but it's also good for your wallet. People who switch from heating oil to heat pumps can save on average 25 $100 a year. That makes a huge difference both for your bottom line, but also to the future that we're building for our kids. Seamus, go. Speaker 1: That's a big, big difference and it uses a lot of the same technology that you see in fridges or in air conditioners. It draws both heat and cool air in and out as you need it and it is incredibly efficient. So, it is much much cleaner and it is way cheaper when when you get your heat or electric bill at the end of the month. So we want more people on board. We want them awful heating oil, which is incredibly expensive and incredibly dirty, and build. And we wanted to move to heat pumps. So now we have a plan, and our plan is simple. Free heat pumps. If you're from a lower income household, free heat pump. And build. We're gonna give you $2.250 on top of it to sign up. And for everybody else, we're gonna work out plans so Speaker 0: that you're not having to Speaker 1: pay that big up on costs that keep so many people from getting on to heat pumps. We'll look after that, and we will pay it out over the savings that you will accrue over the years to follow. Speaker 0: This is just another example of the work we're doing to both make life more affordable for people and fight climate change and protect the environment at the same time because the economy and the environment have to go together. That's what we've been working on. That's what we're going to keep working on for the weeks, months, and years to come. This is all part of how we build better future for everyone. Both

And with a disturbing rise in anti-transgender hate here in Canada and around the world recently, I want to be very clear about one more thing: Trans women are women. We will always stand up to this hate – whenever and wherever it occurs.

Let me make one thing very clear: Transphobia, homophobia, and biphobia have no place in this country. We strongly condemn this hate and its manifestations, and we stand united in support of 2SLGBTQI+ Canadians across the country – you are valid and you are valued.
