The reason Israel is obsessed with destroying UNRWA, with false terrorism accusations or now newly created laws, is because UNRWA maintains the civil registration records of Palestinians and their descendants worldwide. Meaning they are the reason we can't be wiped from existence

Video Transcript AI Summary
The Israeli parliament is advancing legislation to prevent the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) from operating in the occupied Palestinian territory. UNRWA, established in 1949, is crucial for providing shelter, health, and education services to Palestinians in Gaza and other regions. Despite allegations against some staff related to the October 7 attacks, a UN investigation found minimal merit in these claims. Since last October, at least 231 UNRWA staff have been killed in Gaza, where 90% of the population has been displaced and faces severe shortages of food, water, and safety. Human Rights Watch has reported that Israel’s actions amount to war crimes, including using starvation as a weapon. Governments concerned about the humanitarian crisis should support UNRWA and oppose Israel's legislation against it.

Speaker 0: The Israeli parliament is moving ahead with draft legislation that would prevent the UN aid agency for Palestinian refugees from operating in the occupied Palestinian territory. The United Nations Relief and Works Agency, known as UNRWA, is Gaza's largest aid organization. It provides shelter, health, and education services. It also provides services to Palestinian refugees in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, Lebanon, Syria, and Jordan. UNRWA was formed in 1949 after more than 700,000 Palestinians were expelled or fled from their homes in what Palestinians called a Nakba, the events that led to the creation of Israel. UNRWA, more than ever, is indispensable. Unruh, more than ever, is indispensable. Unruh, more than ever, is irreplaceable. Earlier this year, Israeli authorities alleged that many unwashed staff were involved in the October 7, 2023 attacks in southern Israel. But the UN investigated, and they found that only a tiny fraction of the Israeli allegations had any merit. At least 231 of its staff have been killed in Gaza since last October, but the agency continues to operate despite the risks. Its services are essential at a time when Palestinians are facing starvation with nowhere safe to go. Human Rights Watch has found that Israel has been using starvation as a weapon of war in Gaza and imposing collective punishment on its population. Both are war crimes. 90% of Gaza's population, that's 1,900,000 people, have been displaced in the past year. They lacked food, water, shelter, health care, education, and safety. Governments that are truly concerned about the people starving in Gaza should demand that Israel withdraw its bills against UNRWA and support the agency best placed to help Palestinians.

Ceasefire! #Gaza https://t.co/ApCSsSS9yL

The speaker describes the ongoing devastation in Gaza after almost 250 days of war. The focus is on the suffering of children, with thousands killed. The solution is clear: a ceasefire to end the suffering, bring hostages home, and provide medical treatment for children. The plea is for those in power to act now and stop the bombs from falling.

Speaker 0: The scenes in this hospital, the the the screams again, the children with wounds of war on the floor. This could be day 1 of this war and yet we are almost at day 250. So much suffering is being inflicted upon Gaza. The intentions must now surely be clear that the absolute devastation of Gaza indeed, it's already happened. Homes, hospitals, schools, universities, agriculture, the economy devastated, and still the bombs fall. But the many, many thousands of killed children is ample evidence of what UNICEF deemed months ago to be a war on children. There is and there only ever has been one solution to this to end this suffering, and that is a ceasefire. And so for those with power who are looking at that ceasefire today, look no further than here. Look no further than ending this suffering. Getting the hostages home, allowing these children to get the treatment that they need. It's a ceasefire.

In 1903, the Uganda scheme was proposed to create a Jewish homeland in East Africa. Europe was becoming hostile for Jews, so the idea of partnering with Britain to establish a homeland in present-day Kenya seemed appealing. The plan was approved by the Zionist Congress, but it never materialized. White settlers in East Africa opposed the scheme, fearing displacement. They formed an anti-Zionist committee and caused Britain to withdraw their offer. This raises questions about how the world would be different if the Jewish homeland had been established elsewhere.

Speaker 0: Did you know that Israel was almost in Africa? Kind of. This is one of history's craziest almost moments that you've probably never heard of. The plan was called the Uganda scheme, and it was presented to the World Zionist Congress in 1903 by Theodore Herzl, widely regarded as the father of political Zionism. The plan would have created a Jewish homeland in East Africa. You might be wondering, why East Africa? Well, like many places in the world at the time, it was under the colonial control of the British empire. European colonizers came into East Africa and did what colonizers do. Displaced, dehumanized, subjugate, murder, the list goes But thousands of miles away, Europe was becoming an increasingly hostile environment for Jews. In fact, in 1903, Jews in Eastern Europe faced a terrible and bloody massacre. Jews were desperate. So when Britain offered to partner with the Zionists to establish a Jewish homeland in present day Kenya, it was appealing. So the 6th Zionist Congress convenes in August of 1903, and Herzl calls on the 473 delegates to vote on this plan. And it passes easily even though some hated it and many saw side as a temporary solution. But this is where it gets interesting. In the end, the Uganda scheme never came to fruition. In large part, because the white settlers in East Africa believed that it would be state. Unfair to them to be displaced by settlers. They established an anti Zionist immigration committee and published their approval in a local newspaper, causing Britain to withdraw their offer to the Zionists. All of this makes me wonder what the world would look like today if the Jewish homeland was anywhere else swore if the Palestinian people
