On April 25, 2019, my semi-trailer truck was involved in a tragic accident due to alleged brake failure, resulting in a crash that killed four people and caused extensive destruction. I insisted my brakes failed, but the fire made it impossible to investigate. In October 2021, I was convicted of vehicular homicide and sentenced to 110 years in prison, which led to widespread public outcry. By December, nearly five million people signed a petition for my clemency. On December 30, just before my re-sentencing, Governor Polis commuted my sentence to 10 years.

On April 25, 2019, Rogel Lazaro Aguilera Mederos' semi-trailer truck allegedly experienced brake failure, causing a catastrophic crash into 12 cars and three other semi-trailer trucks. This accident led to devastating fires and explosions, claiming the lives of four individuals. Aguilera Mederos maintained that his brakes had failed, but the total destruction of the semi-trailer in the ensuing fire prevented a thorough investigation into the brake malfunction. In October 2021, a jury convicted Aguilera Mederos on four counts of vehicular homicide, resulting in a 110-year prison sentence. This harsh sentence sparked significant public outcry and debate. In December 2021, nearly five million people signed a petition urging Colorado Governor Jared Polis to either commute Aguilera Mederos' sentence or grant him clemency. On December 30, 2021, just before a scheduled re-sentencing hearing, Governor Polis commuted Aguilera Mederos' sentence from 110 years to 10 years.

On November 18, 1978, an employee at Burger Chef in Speedway, Indiana, discovered the back door open and $500 missing, along with four coworkers. Initially viewed as a theft, it quickly escalated to a robbery-kidnapping, culminating in the discovery of the victims' bodies by Sunday. Investigators believe they were kidnapped during a robbery attempt, possibly after one recognized a perpetrator. In 1984, Donald Ray Forrester confessed to the crime but later recanted. Without evidence linking him to the murders, he was never charged and died in prison in 2006.

On November 18, 1978, an off-duty employee of the Burger Chef, a local fast food joint in Speedway, Indiana, found the restaurant’s back door wide open. Upon further investigation, the employee found $500 missing, along with four other employees. It was initially thought to be a petty theft of cash from the restaurant's safe, but by the Saturday morning it became a clear case of robbery-kidnapping, and by Sunday, when their bodies were discovered, a case of murder. The leading theory of investigators has been that the four victims were kidnapped during a botched robbery, possibly after one of the victims recognized one of the perpetrators. In 1984, 36-year-old convicted rapist Donald Ray Forrester, did confess to crime before recanting. With no further cooperation from Forrester and no direct evidence proving he committed the murders, Forrester was never charged. He died in prison from cancer in 2006 at age 55.

I turned around, and the guy sitting right next beside me was standing up and stabbing another guy with a big a Rambo knife pretty much. It was a big survival knife like this in the throat repeatedly repeatedly repeatedly, told everybody to get off the bus. Everybody started to get off the bus. The guy stepped killed or still kept stabbing him stabbing him. Everybody got off the bus, me and a trucker that stopped and the Greyhound driver, ran up to the door to to maybe see if the the guy was still alive or we could help or something like that. And when we all got up, we seen that the guy was cutting off the guy's head. He was cutting off the guy's head there and then he saw us. He he came back to the front of the bus, told the driver to shut the door. He pressed the button and the door shut, but it didn't shut in time. And the guy was able to get his knife out and take a swipe at us, so we backed off the door. And, I ran around the backside of the bus. The bus driver took off, and then we both returned to the front to see what had happened. And he he hadn't gotten off the bus. The door was still open. We shut the bus door that time and shut it. It was at that point that he came, started walking to the front of the bus. He had a the the head in his hand, and he just looked at us like this and dropped it on the ground, but totally calm. The 3 of us had, weapons from the the truck the trucker's truck there, and we just stayed outside while he tried to get out the door, telling him, well, stay put. Stay put. Stay there. Don't don't try to come out. He tried to get the bus working, and the bus driver disabled the bus somehow in the back. I'm not sure how he did it. It was at that point, I think, that the police showed up and, kicked us off. Got us to the back the end of the bus there.

Some examples of the horrific traps that were used during the Vietnam war. https://t.co/z4F7z9CtaC

Video Transcript AI Summary
The Vietnamese invented various traps to target American soldiers during the war. One trap involved bamboo sticks being inserted into the soldiers' calves when they stepped on it. Another trap used two grenades inside a can, which would explode when a soldier touched the trip wire. A crossbow trap would shoot a poisoned arrow at any soldier who triggered the trip wire. The bamboo trap involved bamboo rafts falling from the sky to trap unsuspecting soldiers. The Vietnamese also used poisonous snakes to surprise soldiers who fell into their traps. These traps caused horrific deaths and were a challenge for American soldiers to deal with.

Speaker 0: Invented the trap was a genius. It's been a real pain in the ass for our soldiers. The Vietnamese invented petal traps, which was specifically designed to deal with our troops' steel toed shoes. Once our soldiers stepped into it, dozens of bamboo sticks were inserted directly into the calf, making our soldiers suffer a lot. But even more vicious is the canned grenade. Two grenades are stuffed into an empty can. The grenades are pulled by a half wire in the middle. If a soldier passes by at that moment, if they touch the trip wire, they'd be wiped out. But there's nothing more sinister than a crossbow trap. If one of our soldiers touched the trip wire, the locking mechanism connected to the trip wire is instantly released. A poisoned feces soaked arrow shoots directly at the American soldier. Jesus wouldn't be able to save him. There's also the mind boggling bamboo trap. If an ungrateful soldier passes by at that moment, the bamboo rafts will fall from the sky. We'll randomly select a few lucky people. The deaths were horrific. Even the Vietnamese would not let go of the poisonous snakes. They would throw them into traps they had dug. The guys who fall in will get big surprise. The vipers were thrilled to see the prey at their doorstep.

In January 1982, a passenger on a plane spotted an SOS signal in the Colorado Mountains, leading to the rescue of Alan Lee Philips. However, it later emerged that Philips was not an innocent victim. He had actually killed two young women who were hitchhiking. The bodies of Barbara Oberholtzer and Annette Schnee were found months apart, both shot to death. Philips was arrested in 2021 and convicted in 2022, but he died in prison after only six months.

@Morbidful - Morbid Knowledge

On the night of January 6th, 1982, a passenger on a commercial jet was looking out the window as the plane flew over the Colorado Mountains when he spotted headlights blinking SOS. The passenger brought this to the attention of the pilots who radioed the location of the blinking light to police on the ground. A massive rescue operation was launched and rescuers found Alan Lee Philips stranded in a snow drift. It was in the middle of a severe snow storm and the temperature had dropped down to -22. If it wasn't for the passenger in the plane Alan wouldn't have survived the night. For 40 years Alan's story has been hailed as miraculous, but almost four decades later, it became apparent that Phillips wasn’t an innocent motorist trying to make his way home in bad weather. In fact, hours earlier he’d killed two young women who were hitchhiking nearby. On that ill-fated day, Barbara Jo Oberholtzer, and Annette Kay Schnee vanished without a trace. On January 7, 1982, a woman’s body was found five miles south of Breckenridge, Colorado. She had been shot twice. The only two clues at the scene were a set of house keys and one orange sock. The keys belonged to the dead woman, but the orange sock did not. Six months later and 13 miles away, another woman’s body was found. She had also been shot to death. Police were stunned when they discover that she was wearing the match for the orange sock. The murdered women were both locals: 29-year old Barbara Oberholtzer and 21-year old Annette Kay Schnee. They both disappeared on the same day and both had been shot with a medium caliber revolver. The Park County Sheriff's office said that Alan Lee Philips was arrested in February 2021 after DNA testing linked him to the kidnapping and murder of Annette Schnee, and Barbara “Bobbi Jo” Oberholtzer. He was convicted by a Park County jury in September 2022, of first-degree murder and kidnapping and sentenced to life in prison. But he would only spend 6 months in prison because in March 2023, he died aged 72.

In 2005, a six-month-old kitten named Oscar was adopted by a nursing home in the US to be raised as a therapy cat. However, the workers noticed something peculiar about him. While Oscar usually preferred to be alone, he occasionally crawled into a resident's bed and snuggled beside them. The eerie thing about this is that the resident that Oscar would cuddle with would usually die within hours. Initially, the staff didn't think much of it, but after this happened 20 times, they started to believe that Oscar knew when someone was close to passing away, and so when they noticed the cat next to a resident, they would call their loved ones to warn them. Researchers speculate that Oscar could smell biochemicals released by dying cells and so chose to comfort lonely residents. On one occasion, the staff was convinced that a resident was about to pass away, but Oscar refused to sit with them. Instead, he chose another resident who looked healthier, and that person passed away first. Oscar died in 2022, and over the course of his life he accurately predicted over 100 deaths.
