🇮🇱🇮🇷 IRAN WAR STRATEGY EXPLAINED! It is important to understand that Iran is not fighting a symmetric war against the USA/Israel. They can’t and they don’t. 📋 Iran is doing two things at the same time: 1) WAR ON OIL AND GAS Iran is trying to choke off oil and gas trade from the Middle East through strikes on oil and gas platforms/refineries and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, which handles about 25% of seaborne oil and gas trade. (Video 3) This hits US and Arab interests hard. The sheikhs are already calling Trump and urging quick action. They need peace to continue business. → This is achieved with minimal effort by Iran and is working. No ships pass the strait, oil/gas production is halted to some extent, prices skyrocket. This affects everyone worldwide. Trump is under heavy pressure as long as this continues. 2) MISSILE WAR The missile campaign is not aimed at quickly destroying USA or Israel. That’s pure internet hype. Iran fires enough drones and missiles to keep defenses busy and deplete interceptor stocks. They strike multiple locations simultaneously (Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE, even Cyprus), forcing the US to spread air defenses thin. Concentrating heavy defenses in one place becomes impossible. As Rubio noted yesterday, only 6–7 interceptors are produced per month (Video 2), while Iran produces over 100 missiles per month. If Iran sustains the campaign, it will win the attrition war against air defenses. Time is on Iran’s side. The more air-defense missiles are expended per Iranian projectile, (just look how much they fire to intercept one missile - Video 4), the worse the situation becomes for the defenders—especially after Ukraine depleted much of the Western stockpile over the past four years. Key takeaway: As long as Iran maintains the missile campaign, time works in their favour. The longer the conflict lasts, the stronger Iran’s position becomes. If air defenses run out, Iran can strike freely anything and will win. 📋 Status quo: A) Iran fired fewer missiles on Monday, so they are losing? No! Analysis of the US CENTCOM video (Video 1): The US Air Force struck abandoned, already-used launchers and a broken-down truck. They clearly couldn’t locate active Iranian missile forces, so they hit whatever they found. The launchers were already expended; the crews had left after firing. When the US releases such footage, it suggests this is the best they have. They are not destroying Iran’s missile forces at a high rate. They destroy abandoned trucks. Iran doesn’t need to act quickly. Firing drones and missiles a few times a day is enough to keep oil/gas trade stopped and air defenses occupied. As long as they sustain this, time remains on their side. B) Is Iran winning? Also No. Iran struggles to keep its airspace clear. US surveillance drones continue to penetrate, preventing free movement of launchers. As long as those drones remain active, Iran cannot fire at will without risk. Failure to neutralise them would break their strategy. While American and Israeli drones fly in Irans sky, Irans missiles stay under ground and can’t surface, or they risk being struck quickly. Hence US/Israeli Surveillance drones, that direct strikes are the biggest problem Iran has now. They want to roll out missile infrastructure from below ground to the surface, and they can’t … at least not at scale. Watch this closely as a key indicator. How many drones are flying above Iran and how many are shot down. C) What is the US/Israeli strategy? They planned to remove Khamenei, trigger mass protests by Shah supporters, and install a new regime. This has clearly failed. Now they destroy military buildings (police headquarters, etc.), mostly for posture and intimidation. Essential personnel do not work in above-ground offices—doing so would be foolish. The remaining option is to make life unbearable and force surrender by bombing power plants and similar infrastructure. This will come soon at scale. More bombs!

And the unpredictability from Washington, you know, was bad enough to fight when you knew that you had all these friends in your corner, but to fight and not know from one day to the next what's coming is very what support is coming is very challenging. You're remembering our times together, where you were such a great partner when I was in the Obama administration, and we were having all kinds of debates within the cabinet. I was a member of his cabinet about whether to provide lethal weapons to Ukraine, whether that would provoke Putin. This was, as you know, years before the full scale invasion, but after the invasion of Crimea and Eastern Ukraine. And so you saw my public face, but then we had this internal churn with Susan Rice and John Kerry and all the rest, and Joe Biden, of course, being a great advocate for being more forward leaning. And those were very difficult days, and you're kind to remember. Those were days where, as you were the one who educated me, that UN Security Council sessions were on at the dinner table. Would say even more satisfying for me, even though you and I didn't get to work together directly, is the Biden years where I ran USAID. So on top of what gets all the headlines, the question of what weapons are gonna go to Ukraine now under Trump, on top of the question of what intelligence is gonna go to Trump, To me, one of the big untold stories is no direct budget support, no energy support, no agricultural support. You know, these things that are a critical part of you can't, you know, Putin can win the war once and for all without firing a shot if the economy collapses, if if, you know, all the people who came back to Ukraine have to leave again because there's no electricity to to keep their kids in school. I don't have to tell you. You know, I have no taste of what you do. You know, our Ukrainian staff, who were, who are the ones who got kept everything going and are the ones who had, you know, they funded DIA, the creation of DIA and the Ministry of Digital Transformation back when it was first created, I think in 2019. So I don't have I can't say that that's a good news. That's giving you good news. So, you know, you all inspire us, but we're moving in a more corrupt direction, not a less corrupt direction here in The United States, unfortunately. Speaker 0: No. I'm afraid that Putin could negotiate any any any corrupt deal. Maybe, you know, some someone who could some sponsor who could change USAID on another NGO. Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, what USAID, you know, as you know, was part of government. I think the Europeans have tried to step up, but much more on military side than on the civilian side. I would find it very beneficial for someone because it's so weird, mister president. Like, I'm it's like you call me ambassador. Like, I I'm I don't even have access to information right now because they took down the USAID website. Like, I went in advance of this call. I went on the Ukrainian the US embassy's website in Ukraine to see if I could learn, you know, what is going on, what isn't. They've completely taken away transparency. I kind of need people I'm sure this is your frustration. Out of power as well. Like, I'm used to having, you know, 15,000 people work for me at USAID, but just people to turn this into bite sized proposals on the civilian side, whether on ag or on energy or on supporting a lot of the independent media or the anti corruption NGOs. Like, A lot of that support came from USA. Again, Europe is picking up some of it, but a lot of those groups are gonna go out of business. No question. So I think that's a piece of it. I think if you still have context also on Capitol Hill, I think you know, people should know that the same people who are advocating for continuing military and intelligence support should be advocating for the restart of civilian support. One of the last things I did as administrator is extended a very large loan, interest free loan, to the government of Ukraine using the frozen assets as collateral. You remember all the debates about how to use the frozen assets you know, for a whole set of complicated legal reasons that you know better than me. We were not able to just take the assets and and give them, you know, and for you to just spend the assets. But I thought it was quite creative of the lawyers to let us use the assets to spit off interest that in turn became kind of loan payments, if I understand it. So so that's an infusion of money that will continue even though the spigot of about a billion a month that we were provide USAID was providing with our treasury department, that is no longer happening. We were doing that through the World Bank just as a way of having safeguards. So I think there are donors out there, there are foundations, there are other governments, there are individuals who are heartbroken, but there's not a lot of, you know, reliable information about specifically what what a million dollars would fund. You know? And I I think that that I've been so demoralized by everything that's happened. I've not been my normal energetic self out there, you know, trying to track some of this stuff down. And, again, I'm used to having teams of people who provide this information as a matter, of course. But we're gonna have to get a little bit you know, get our our hands dirty in a sense. Speaker 0: What was real role of USAID in revolution of dignity? Speaker 1: I mean, there's so many answers to this. You know, we've been there since independence. I say we. USAID has been there since independence. There are so many answers to your question. For example, helping fund the creation of Dia and the Ministry of Digital Transformation. Not Dia solving the corruption problem, but it's a huge answer to taking out the middlemen and to creating greater transparency. That was The US and British governments funded that. DFID and USAID funded that. Federoff certainly knows all of those facts from being there from the beginning. ProZoro, you remember ProZoro on procurement in the health domain, which is so cut down on corruption. USAID funded ProZoro. So that meant hiring out, I don't know if it was an organization or a set of consultants to embed, but they built that whole system. Even though the war kind of stopped it a little bit, the what's it called, the Hoverla? Hoverla, is that right? The decentralization? Speaker 0: However. Speaker 1: That was funded by I mean, not the spending in the regions or the decentralized governing structures. But the whole idea of how to do it, people who went and developed that plan and then of course the implementation was on all of you, again, of those officials that separated the national government from the community. Then so much independent media, and not just independent media, even Ukrainian national television, but so many of the independent journalists who have exposed corruption, including, by the way, ironically, USAID might have funded them years ago to get training and learn how to do fact checking or learn how to make money as journalist. And then the same journalists were the ones when we started giving this big assistance after the full scale invasion. Those journalists were the ones that uncovered corruption on the use of US taxpayer dollars, names of the leading anti corruption, non governmental advocates. All of that, all of those organizations, if I had to guess, probably 50% of their budgets in the early years especially were coming from USAID. And then what was great about USAID is we would go to the Europeans and say, Okay, we're doing this now. Can you chip in? We already had proof of concept that some of these investments were working, that they were paying dividends, that there were good organizations to fund. Whereas if you think back, as you know, to the early '90s, those organizations didn't even exist, you know, and and you're talking about building checks and balances from scratch. And on that score also, you know, even little things. I mean, and, you know, again, I I don't know your politics well. I never knew it well, but I certainly don't know it well now. Work that USAID would do small things like funding collaborations between Ukrainian parliamentarians, not of a particular party, but let's say parliamentarians under 35, or female parliamentarians. But that kind of training, the exposure, if we funded them to travel, let's say, to Washington or to Paris or to Canberra or something, that kind of exposure that they would get, making them better stewards of Ukrainian taxpayer dollars and so forth. So again, the effort to strengthen checks and balances was across a lot of different sectors. Speaker 0: How do you feel the real role of USAID? So as I if I'm not wrong, what was amount about $15,000,000,000 for 10 for my in my presidency. Speaker 1: Oh, in your presidency? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Well, I mean, I I think the again, I'm very careful saying Ukrainians did it. Ukrainians did it. But but I think this I would emphasize if I were going back and telling the story, it's it's building the checks and balances in that time. And then in this time, in wartime, we were giving $1,500,000,000 every single month just right into the treasury of Ukraine. Just in cash. I mean Just cash. That was because that was because of the of the deficit. Now that money went in when receipts were provided. You know, we we had to for congress, of course, we had to build in all of these safeguards. But Mhmm. You know, fun at the end and and congress at the end hated paying for pensions. It it was, you know, basically supplementing tax revenue because tax revenue plummeted as the economy shrunk. Don't get me wrong. I mean, my argument of Putin can win this war without firing a shot, we persuaded enough Republicans that that was true that we got the money. But when Trump but it took an executive push. And once Trump comes in and isn't is asking for cuts rather than to sustain that kind of investment, then that money went away. But that's as important as you know, you can invest in NGOs, but fundamentally Speaker 0: I have my personal question. Another problem now, what I see is the next step for Putin is he's trying probably to invade Moldova. This is why I'm really worried about what is going on in this electional process at this moment. So because they have pro Russian regime, Transistria, and this way, if Mayas Sander loses the elections, so it could lead to another conflict from another corner, from Moldovian corner. Speaker 1: Well, I traveled for that reason many times to Moldova, and we made unprecedented USAID made unprecedented investments there. This was not a country that USAID had really had much of a presence in, very small. We expanded it massively both for the sake of Ukraine, but of course also for Moldova. It was a democratic bright spot with President Sandhu, a Kennedy School graduate a real reformer. She narrowly squeaked by the last time, as you know. Yeah, I'm very worried about Moldova as well. Speaker 0: Yes. I hope that you already invested some money to fight against Russian influence. Speaker 1: We We surged resources. I can't remember now the numbers, but, I mean, The U the so called Ukraine supplementals always had tens of millions of dollars also from Moldova, and that sorry for the banging. And that money went much, much further in Boldova than it did in Ukraine because it's such a small country. But all of that money was cut off, when Trump came to power. Everything. All of those investments. But people don't when they think about Western support, they think about arms, and maybe they think about Toria Nuland and, like, interference. You know? They don't think about these kind of forms of more subtle more subtle support. You know, Ukraine will be the bad guy in the in Trump's narrative, in Trump's mind, and then all the talk of sanctions and other things will not happen. I am pleased with the sanctions on India around buying the oil. That's the only good thing Trump Trump has done. Thought that was you know, that's not something that we ever did in the Biden administration. And so to give credit there, maybe that can deter Modi from from buying so much oil. Speaker 0: I think that this is the last chance for Moldova. Speaker 1: What Moldova would I'm very worried myself. I wish both of us were still in power in office and with a chance to do something about it. It's incredibly frustrating to be sounding these alarms and to feel like no one's listening in, you know, relevant in place. But Macron and people like that are very important. Vander Lein is very important. I mean, while Trump is on the sidelines for Moldova, Europe becomes much more important. I hope you'll use those channels with that warning. And so I think it's important that I get to ask you a question. Speaker 1: Okay. Speaker 0: When did you meet Charlie? And tell us about how your relationship with Charlie grew because I think it's fascinating. Speaker 1: I met Charlie when he was a teenager. He was connected to, funded by, a close friend of ours called Foster Freeze, who's a wonderful man from Wilmington, Delaware, really from Wisconsin, but lived in Wilmington, then Jackson, Wyoming, and was an investor in a company that we had and more important, like an actual friend, really the only investor I've ever had in anything. And and a very enthusiastic Christian man. And the kind of person who's just a collector of people. You know? I met this person who's so enthusiastic, and almost everybody around him was just wonderful. But because he was so rich and so generous, he did collect. There were phonies in the orbit because there always are when someone's rich. Right? And so he tells me at dinner about this kid he's met. He's only 18. He's not going to college. I've always been opposed to college in my whole life. I tried to convince all my kids not to go. I mean, I really meant it. And so he's like, you would love this guy. He's not going to college. And I was like, man, I love that because I really am opposed, and I mean it. And I'm like, he sounds great. And he's like, da da da da da da da da And I'm thinking, oh, man. Some fast talking kid has configured. It was, like, throwing back Reagan quotes or something at poor Foster, you know, who's in his seventies and, like, late sixties, and he doesn't know. And I really thought assumed that Charlie was just some predator, and I didn't like it at all. And, of course, there's the bias against young people. I mean, Charlie's literally the age of one of my children. So, like and I felt this probably is totally conventional telling old people what they wanna hear, sucking up to the donors, whatever. So I meet him. I thought he was smart as hell, but I was very skeptical. Then I have this he calls me, would you do an event? Sure. I was gonna be in the state anyway, so I do it. And we have this kind of sort of debate, not really a debate. Well, what actually happened was I was gonna give a speech, and I got there. We're backstage. He's like, well, actually, let's just do a q and a. And I was like, I don't know, son. I don't think you wanna do that with me because I'm kind of a jerk, you know, which I am in those settings. Right? So he's like, no. No. No. I I want you. We we can it's okay to have a debate. I was like, I don't know, man. Like, I disagree with your views on economics and foreign policy, and I'm pretty hot on these topics. So I'm just letting you know that. Oh, no problem at all. So we end up having this kind of intense thing, and I'm, like, passionately opposed to marijuana and drugs. I'm just having used a lot of drugs as a child. Like, I'm very opposed to drugs. Charlie never used any drugs his whole life, and he was at the time. He was kind of libertarian on the subject. And I remember saying, everyone in the crowd is for weed. Like, you think you're so cool, but, actually, it's a control device designed to make you passive and accepting of the system that's destroying you. And people kinda booed me or whatever, but Charlie looked at me like, I think that may be right. And that it was that issue. It was weed of all issues. You know? It's not my top issue, but I do feel it really strongly. I hate marijuana. Okay? And I know it's really cool, but, no, it's, like, fully corporate actually, and it's wrecking Americans, especially boys. It's wrecking the parking lot of the grocery store nearby. It makes me feel like getting my gun. Like, I really feel that way about it. Sorry. I shouldn't say that, but I really am mad about it. And Charlie got grooved with that, and that moment set off this, like, conversation. So I was back. I was in Arizona for something. He's like, let's go to lunch. Let's go to dinner. And we started having all these really intense conversations. Start putting him on Fox. And his views were changing. And mine were too, by the way. It's not like I converted him. It's like I had been all kinds of embarrassing things during the scope of my long life, a libertarian, a self described neocon. Can you imagine? I mean, I'll I'll admit it. I, like, got mad at Alex Jones for asking questions about nine eleven. What? Like, I was, like, a horrible person or very close minded person. I was totally wrong about everything. And so I didn't judge. Like, you should change your mind as the evidence changes. The things you thought were gonna work didn't. An honest man asked himself why they didn't work and what might work. Like, that's the process of adulthood. And, Charlie, young people are very inflexible about what they believe. I have found in and I have a lot of young people. I have lot of children. He was one of the only young people I've ever met who was like, oh, yeah. I think I was wrong. And only belief in Jesus allows you to say that because you know that you're not judged. You know that honesty is the ticket, and that if you pursue an honest path, you'll be okay. And you don't need the adulation from the crowd. You don't need the love of strangers to feel good about yourself because you know that you are loved. It gives you true freedom, and he had that. Charlie had no problem at all getting up and being like, I was at Neocon. And, of course, with me, he didn't because he knew that I was too. I'm, like, cheering on the Iraq war, which I did. Like, I literally did that. And I'm ashamed of it, but I'm also proud to admit it because I think that it's important to let people know that you can admit being wrong. It's okay. It's alright.
