The 2024 Republican primary is shaping up to be a bust. Trump faces indictment, DeSantis is unimpressive, and Haley and Pence are unpopular. However, a new contender could still shake things up. The concern is that the media and activists will focus too much on Trump's ghost and overlook the potential for a new con artist to emerge. Stay vigilant.

We've spent two years hearing endless hype about the 2024 Republican primary, yet it's now going completely bust. Trump about to be indicted. DeSantis has his foot surgically implanted in his mouth. No one cares about Nikki Haley, or Pence. It's a clown car full of boring clowns.

@PalmerReport - Palmer Report

It's still super early, so it's possible a lot could change that could make it interesting. Trump could still insist on running from his prison cell. DeSantis could get a personality transplant. Some newcomer could step in and polarize everything.

But there's a reason why broadly unpopular people like Pence and Haley are running: they see no frontrunner, just a muddled field of tired boring losers. And that's the environment that'll let them limp along all the way to Iowa, then drop out and get that lucrative book deal.

@PalmerReport - Palmer Report

Of course the last time there was a Republican field this full of boring unpopular shitty losers, it was 2016, which was why Trump entered the race. It was the lamest field in history, and he correctly guessed that he could overtake them just by not being any of them.

So the concern when it comes to 2024 may be what new con artist public figure decides to jump in the race and take advantage of the pathetically unpopular Republican field. We'll see. Stay vigilant.

The even bigger concern is that far too many in the media, and far too many of you in the activist realm, are going to waste far too much of the 2024 cycle idly fretting over Trump's ghost, and end up overlooking whatever con artist public figure tries to pull a Trump in 2024.

@PalmerReport - Palmer Report

If the events of today didn't make it clear to you that Trump will be spending 2024 in a prison cell and not a presidential race, I really don't know how to help you. Fretting over Trump's ghost is just lazy. Vigilance means watching out for the next Republican con artist.
