Three years ago, the world witnessed a devastating attack on Ukraine as Kremlin forces struck while families slept. Since then, countless Ukrainians have suffered casualties and displacement, enduring brutal occupation in cities like Kyiv and Mariupol. The war's roots trace back nearly eight years, when Canada took a principled stand against Russia. I reaffirmed our solidarity with Ukraine at a rally, emphasizing our commitment to support them with necessary weapons and ensuring they are included in peace negotiations. Ukrainians have shown incredible resilience, and their fight for freedom continues.

@PierrePoilievre - Pierre Poilievre

Three years ago our world changed forever. In the early hours of the morning, as Ukrainian families slept peacefully in their homes, Kremlin forces began a horrific full-scale attack on their nation. The months and years that followed have seen countless thousands of Ukrainians killed and injured – not only on the front lines, but in once-safe cities like Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, Kharkiv and Mariupol. Yet more innocent civilians have been forced to leave their communities or have found themselves under a brutal occupation. It is often noted that Moscow’s war against Ukraine began not in 2022, but nearly eight years prior. At that time, the Conservative government of Prime Minister Stephen Harper took a clear and principled stand. While many other countries dithered, Canada sent troops to Ukraine under Operation UNIFIER and played a leading role in removing the Russian Federation from the G8. What was right in 2014 remains right today, Vladmir Putin should not be allowed back into this forum. Just hours after the full-scale war began, I told a rally of Ottawa’s Ukrainian community that ‘Canadians stand in total solidarity with you, and we will be by your side throughout’. Three years later, our dedication has not wavered. Canada’s Common Sense Conservatives remain committed to getting Ukraine the weapons they need – and to promoting Canadian oil and gas as an alternative to Putin’s energy blackmail. And I want to be completely clear – Conservatives believe that no process for peace negotiations should happen without Ukraine being part of these discussions. Ukrainians have the right to determine their own future. As we reflect on the incredible sacrifices that Ukrainians have made in defence of their homeland, we are reminded that – despite everything they have faced in the last eleven years – "Ukraine has not yet perished, nor her glory, nor her freedom."

This video highlights alarming behavior where individuals treated illegal firearms like toys at a gathering. What began as reckless display escalated into chaos as they fired at a rival gang, indiscriminately shooting into the street. A task force has arrested 14 suspects and filed over 100 new charges. This reckless conduct poses a significant threat to community safety. Notably, about eight of those arrested were out on bail at the time. While many remain in custody, some have been released. All seized handguns were illegal and traced back to the United States.

Speaker 0: What you'll see in this video, it's brazen. Guns treated like toys, and lives treated as afterthoughts. This was a group of individuals who seemed alarmingly comfortable, not only carrying illegal firearms, but also treating them like props at a party. What started as reckless posturing escalated into chaos, they began to fire back at a rival gang, wildly spraying bullets into the street without any regard to human life. The task force has arrested 14 additional suspects and laid over a 100 new charges. It's shocking behavior that underscores the danger these individuals pose in our communities. About 8 were out on bail at the time they were arrested. Many are still in custody, and some have been released. All the handguns were illegal, and they have all traced to the United States.

On his first day, President Trump signed an executive order recognizing only two genders: male and female. If elected as prime minister, would you align with this view? I'm aware of only two genders. If there are others, feel free to share. Personally, I believe the government should stay out of people's personal decisions. Regarding gender-neutral passports, my focus is on pressing issues like homelessness, poverty, and rising crime in Canada. With 25% of our population in poverty and housing costs skyrocketing, I find it odd to prioritize gender labels on passports. My goal is to restore the promise of hard work leading to decent pay and affordable living for Canadians. Let others discuss labels; I will focus on what truly matters for our country.

Speaker 0: On his first day on the job president Trump signed an executive order, you know, the US government only recognizing 2 genders, male, female. They're unchangeable. You know, if elected as prime minister, is that something that you're gonna kind of walk in line with? Or or what are your feelings on that executive order? Speaker 1: Well, I don't know. Do you have any other genders that Speaker 0: Mhmm. Speaker 1: You'd like to name? Speaker 0: Me, personally? I'm I'm just asking more so if if you're in line with what he is saying. Do do you agree with what he's saying? Is that something that you would be lockstep with if elected as prime minister? Speaker 1: Well, I I'm not aware of any other genders than men and women. I mean, if you have any other that you want me to consider, you're welcome to tell me right now. Speaker 0: Well, there's well, there's personally, I am a man. I am a as people say, cis man. There there are people there who, you know, they say they're gender neutral. Oh. You're a man. Yes. There are people there who say they're gender yeah. They say they're gender neutral. They're, you know, they're they're a trans person. Is that something that you would recognize here? Or whereas in the states, at least with their US government, the way they're seeing it, there's only 2. Speaker 1: I'm only aware of 2. But, I mean, if you have if you come up with another list, then, you're welcome to do that. But I I'm aware of 2. And, as far as I'm concerned, we should have a government that just minds its own damn business and leaves people alone to make their own personal decisions. Mhmm. That's the kind of government I'm going to run. Speaker 0: And with that, you know, the current government, they currently have passports that allow people to put on, you know, gender neutral on their passport. Advocate groups want the the government, mind you, the outgoing government to ask the US, would the US recognize these passports, obviously, on their way out? If you are the next prime minister, is that something that you would advocate for? Honest. Speaker 1: Yeah. So I can be honest with you. I just saw your segment on homeless encampments that are popping up all over Toronto. We've got 25% of our population in poverty. Housing costs have doubled. Crime is rampaging through our streets. I just find it to be a strange priority to spend time talking about this. My priority is to give people back control of their lives and bring back Canada's promise that anyone who works hard gets a powerful paycheck and pension that buys affordable food, gas, and homes in safe neighborhoods. That's the promise we need for Canadians. If Liberals wanna talk about different labels that, for gender that they wanna put on passports in the United States, they can do that. I'm gonna talk about the things that will bring home Canada's promise.

The Canadian government has introduced new mortgage guidelines to help homeowners facing high interest rates. Many households are struggling with mortgage renewals, as rates are expected to increase significantly. The guidelines include allowing temporary extensions of payment periods and exempting homeowners from stress tests when switching lenders. When this motion came before the committee, the NDP liberal coalition used Procedural tricks to block the motion from coming to a vote effectively killing our opportunity to hear from the whistleblower. Whistleblowers are the only reason The Canadians know that this happened, and to to have members silence a whistleblower by refusing to allow them to come before the committee Speaks to a government that is more interested in covering up their own corruption than being accounted accountable to the Canadians who sent them here. It has come out today that Justin Trudeau personally met with and honoured a veteran of the 14th Waffen Grenadier Division of the SS (a Nazi division). Liberals then arranged for this Nazi veteran to be recognized on the floor of the House of Commons during the visit of the Ukrainian President. This is an appalling error in judgement on the part of Justin Trudeau, whose personal protocol office is responsible for arranging and vetting all guests and programming for state visits of this kind. No parliamentarians (other than Justin Trudeau) had the opportunity to vet this individual’s past before he was introduced and honoured on the floor of the House of Commons. Without warning or context, it was impossible for any parliamentarian in the room (other than Mr. Trudeau) to know of this dark past. Mr. Trudeau must personally apologize and avoid passing the blame to others as he always does.

FSWC is appalled that Canada’s Parliament gave a standing ovation to a Ukrainian veteran who served in a Nazi military unit during the Second World War implicated in the mass murder of Jews and others. An apology and explanation is owed. https://www.fswc.ca/news/fswc-appalled-by-standing-ovation-in-parliament-for-ukrainian-veteran-who-served-in-nazi-military-unit
