On this day, November 23, 1985, Khalistani trrorists placed a powerful bmb in a box-like object on the luggage rack of the coach of the Nangal-Ambala shuttle train no. 9574 entering Shambhu station in Patiala. The bmb was exploded, the roof of the last compartment of the train was blown off, and the train caught fire. Two Hindus were dead on spot and more than 23 Hindus were injured. Alot of them died later in the hospital due to severe burn injuries. These Hindus were poor labourers belonging to Bihar and UP. The aim of trrorists was to spread teππor among labourers coming from Bihar and UP to Punjab.
