I report that U.S. officials say Canada is showing unusual democratic innovations and they’re closely monitoring whether the G7’s standards still apply. A potential majority government without a general election sparked questions about democratic legitimacy, though no one says Canada is out of the G7. Post 2 reminds that when a G7 country looks unusual, Washington is watching.

@SatireSquadHQ - THE OFFICIAL RECORD

“We’re not saying Canada is out of the G7,” the official said. “But most democracies prefer to include the voters in the democracy part.” WASHINGTON — Officials in the Trump administration say the United States is “closely monitoring developments in Canada” after what they describe as “unusual democratic innovations” taking place north of the border. According to sources familiar with internal discussions, the topic recently surfaced during a review of G7 relations. One senior official reportedly summarized the concern bluntly: “The G7 is supposed to be a club of stable democracies. If that standard changes, the club might have to change too.” The comments come as Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney is widely expected to secure a majority government without holding a general election, a development that has reportedly caught the attention of several officials in Washington. “This is fascinating,” one administration aide said. “We’re trying to understand the new Canadian model where you get a full governing mandate without the inconvenience of voters.” Another official added that the U.S. is “carefully studying the situation.” “For decades Canada was considered one of the most stable democracies in the world,” the aide said. “Now we’re seeing some… creative interpretations of how democratic legitimacy works.” While no formal action has been proposed, insiders say the discussion briefly touched on the broader question of whether all current G7 members still meet the political and economic standards the group was originally built around. “The G7 isn’t a historical society,” one official reportedly said. “It’s supposed to represent the world’s leading democracies and economies.” When asked if Canada’s membership could eventually come into question, another source responded cautiously. He paused. “We’re not saying Canada is out of the G7,” the official said. “But most democracies prefer to include the voters in the democracy part.”

@SatireSquadHQ - THE OFFICIAL RECORD

Yes, satire. But when democracy starts looking a little unusual in a G7 country, it’s fair to assume Washington is watching.

Video Transcript AI Summary
The Liberal government's policies have worsened housing affordability, with homes now costing ten times more than twenty years ago. While Donald Trump is a top concern for older voters, younger voters prioritize housing and cost of living. Liberal leader Mark Carney is focusing on defense, promising to build up Canada's armed forces, but his campaign message is unclear. Both the NDP and Conservatives are criticizing Carney's role in driving up rent costs through Brookfield Asset Management, which buys apartment buildings, makes cosmetic changes, and hikes rents. Carney's financial assets and potential conflicts of interest are also under scrutiny. He is facing criticism for initially agreeing to a second French debate and then backing out. The Globe and Mail highlighted claims of Indian foreign interference to help Polyev win the Conservative leadership, though CSIS found no evidence Polyev or his team were aware. Polyev is hitting back at Carney, alleging conflicts of interest related to Brookfield receiving a loan from a Chinese state-owned bank while Carney advised Justin Trudeau. Polyev has received an endorsement from the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, a union that has never endorsed a federal Liberal or Conservative before. Former Trudeau cabinet minister Sean Fraser, who previously said he wouldn't run, is now re-entering the election.

Speaker 0: Crazy it is that we're we're looking at homes like this, and they're a million dollars. Well, he said, the liberal government's poor policy has, you know, just made things worse, and so he's upping it to homes under 1,300,000.0. I think back to buying my first home, Jeanette, and I can't imagine. And that was twenty years ago, but it cost a tenth of what these guys are talking about now. It it it is you know, which is why so many young people are concerned. Very fascinating watching the polling, and while Donald Trump is the number one issue for voters 60, voters 50, it's housing affordability, cost of living, pocketbook issues, and that's what Pauliev was out here talking about today. Speaker 1: Yeah. Exactly. It's so hard for younger people to even think about buying a house right now with the cost of all these houses and whatnot. But okay. So liberal leader Mark Carney in Halifax this morning talking about defense, saying he will build up Canada's armed forces with more subs, more ships, and pay raises for members of the armed forces. Speaker 0: All against the backdrop of Donald Trump. As I said just a moment ago, for voters 60, which is where Mark Carney is getting a lot of his support that you see shifting in the polls. It's coming from women and voters 60 who are very concerned about Donald Trump. And so he makes this defense announcement, which is very light on detail, but kind of posturing as if, you know, I'll build up the military to defend against, you know, maybe kinda hinting at a Trump invasion, which isn't going to happen. But that's where where he was. More ships, more subs. He was asked about the f 35 contract and whether that would go ahead. He was noncommittal. It's a very strange campaign from the liberal leader. Justin Trudeau's very good, very focused campaigner. I know that will anger some of your viewers who, you know, really didn't like the guy, but he knew and understood how a campaign is structured and how it has to go. This is Kearney's first time campaigning, and it's really showing because sometimes you you just don't know what his message is. Every campaign normally has a message of the day. His was unfocused today. Yesterday, after listening to his entire news conference, I couldn't tell you what it was. Speaker 1: Oh, interesting. Well, it sounds like if he's really trying to build up the defense, does he think that we're ready to go to war with The United States or something? See if that's the takeover the big takeover? Yeah. Speaker 0: I I I I don't think that's coming. I know some people. There's some media people who are very much backing Mark Carney who are playing up that idea. So and you hear the odd person who is afraid of it. You know, when I talk to people in Washington, that is not on the agenda even if they do like what the, what president Trump says about trying to make Canada Fifty for a state. Speaker 1: Mhmm, for sure. Now both NDP leader Jagmeet Singh and Polyev were taking on Kearny on the same issue today, his role in driving up the cost of rent for many Canadians. We were just talking about housing there. I mean, also an issue. So what are the two leaders claiming that Kearny did wrong? Speaker 0: Well, of course, before he, got into politics, and after he was chair of the Bank of England, he or the governor of the Bank of England, he was chair of a company called Brookfield Asset Management, and they've engaged in buying up a lot of rental, apartment buildings here in Canada. In The United States, they're big into buying up homes that then then turn around and rent, and it's called the financialization of the housing market. So interesting that both the NDP and the conservatives taking Carney on on this. Apparently, both showcasing apartment buildings in Toronto where the Brookfield rents are far higher. The, both the Liberals and concern or the NDP and Conservatives saying that Kearney's firm would buy up, these buildings, make minor cosmetic changes to the building, and then start hiking rents as if it was a new building. And so they're higher than average when it comes to what people are charged. You know, Kearney is going to have to talk about housing at some point, or or perhaps he's just gonna try and talk about Donald Trump for thirty seven days and and win the election that way. But if he talks about housing, this is going to become a a major issue for him. The the whole Brookfield thing is a major issue. How do you say that you're going to fix a problem when it turns out you're the firm you were in charge of is a major, problem? And there's many other areas where what the company that he was in charge of did while he was chair, where it's going to come back and hurt Kearney. Speaker 1: Right, okay, and of course, taking us back to his financial assets and conservatives claiming that this is a conflict of interest, and it looks like the NDP and conservatives say that Kearney is conflicted while the liberal leader says that he's following the rules. So is the truth somewhere in the middle, or what do you think? What is the truth here? Speaker 0: Well, he's following the rules, but doesn't mean he wouldn't be in a conflict of interest. We we don't know. He's put his assets into a blind trust, but he still knows what they are. And there's several funds that Carney helped build while he was at Brookfield, and the way his compensation structure works is that he can't, he could sell any of the shares he owns in those funds, but he will still be paid by those funds for years because he was the founder of it. So he will be getting payments out of that for years to come. He knows what assets those funds have. He can easily look that up, and that puts him in a conflict. Brookfield's a major company. They do a lot of business with government on various fronts. How many times is he gonna have to step out of the room while cabinet makes a decision on his company? This is why it's it's problematic. And while he's put his, assets into a blind trust, he doesn't have the, the the ethics screen set up with the ethics commissioner at this point. He's saying they're working on it, but I've talked to people who've been through this, and they say it can take months and months and months, given the complexity of what he has, what he has been in charge of. It could take a year or two. And what's he gonna do? Just never be in the room when anything that touches on Brookfield is discussed? You're selling off government buildings that are no longer needed because you don't have as many workers coming into the office. Okay. Well, he's gotta leave. Things like that. On and on it goes. It's it's gonna be an issue. Speaker 1: Wow. Is it ever? And on Monday, Carney said that he would not or he would actually take part in a second French debate, but now his team is saying that he's not going to. Why is this an issue, and why are there two French debates but only one English one? Speaker 0: So if you remember back years ago, there just used to be one English and one French debate, and it was they were both run by the consortium of major broadcasters. In 2015, Stephen Harper said, you know what? I don't like the way these guys run debates. I'll go to debates that anybody runs. And so the Globe and Mail had held one out in Calgary. There was the Monk debate here in Toronto. There were different debates in Montreal. There were a lot of debates in the twenty fifteen election. Well, the Trudeau liberals didn't like that, so they said, oh, we're just going to have a debate commission decide, and he set up this quasi government body to run debates. And so they run the one debate in English, one debate in French. Well, there's a TV network in Quebec called TVA, and they didn't like this. They're like, no. We'd wanna host a debate again. And they do a very different format. It's it's called fast, fast, which means face to face. And so at different times, each leader is pitted in a one on one debate with another leader. We don't really get that in the other debates, and and so you don't get the the same full measure. That's the debate that Carney said he would take part in. And and Justin Trudeau accepted two debates in French last time, but wouldn't accept any other debates in English. So the Liberals were always been playing games with this. Carney said he would, then he said he wouldn't. You know, time and again, this guy, he has trouble with the truth. He has trouble not misleading people. Like, did he try and call Donald Trump, or didn't he? Turns out he tried to set up a call. Trump won't return his call. Problems like that. But, you know, Pierre Pauliev challenged him, earlier today, standing right behind where I am right now. He challenged him and said, show up and debate, and I'll even pay the $75,000 entrance fee that the, the TV network is looking for. Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, interesting. I was just going to ask you about that because we had heard that. There you go, Brian. You know, you've got the firsthand information there. Now, Brian, there is a story out on the front page of The Globe, a mail that plays up claims of Indian foreign interference by India to help Polyev win the conservative leadership race. Now, Kearny and the Liberals are of course jumping all over this saying it's proof that Polyev is unfit for office, but Polyev is hitting back. So what is the conservative leader saying here? Speaker 0: So it's kind of interesting that this was played up huge on the front page of the globe, because it's not new information. This came out during the foreign interference commission, the Hogue report. So, and it says right in the Globe story, that it's CSIS did not believe that mister Pali ever anyone on his team knew that India was trying. And it sounds like it was a very small and weak attempt. That doesn't mean that it's acceptable. It's still wrong, but it wasn't the same level as the Chinese consulate, you know, sending around $250,000 and spreading it around 11 campaigns or helping get specific liberal candidates nominated, by bussing in people to to vote in nomination races here in Toronto. It wasn't like that at all. And the so Polydev was asked about it, again, right behind where I am now, and he he just bluntly said, Patrick Brown, one of his, competitors in the nomination, race, leadership race, has testified under oath that it had no impact, and that he knew nothing about it. The Hogue Commission found the same thing. So, you know, it it's weird that it's being brought up. The liberals are using it to jump on Polyev and say, see, you don't have your security clearance. This is why you need your security clearance. Polyev said, look. I've had my security clearance before. I will get it again. What I refused to do regarding foreign interference was accept what the liberals were offering, which was come into this room. We'll tell you some of what's, the secrets that we know, but then you can't talk about it at all. And he hit back very hard at Carney and said that while Carney was advising Justin Trudeau as his economic adviser, he went to Beijing for secret meetings with top con Chinese Communist Party officials. And shortly after that, Brookfield, his company, got a $250,000,000 loan, a quarter billion dollar loan from a Chinese state owned bank. And Sapalio said, if anyone is conflicted by foreign interference here, it's Mark Carney. Speaker 1: Oh gosh, interesting. You know, speaking of, where you are standing right there, I understand that, Polyev has been backed by a number of unions as well for building, right, for the housing? Speaker 0: Yeah. He got one major endorsement last night from the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers. You know, they and it was a very strong endorsement. They're concerned about boilermakers. It's it's not a it's a trade I know well. My late father was a boilermaker, but many people don't. They're involved in industrial construction, in power plants. If there was an LNG pipeline, they would be doing part of the work on that. They're, very active in places like Fort McMurray. So industrial construction, this is what they're doing, and they said that they believe Polyev is the right man for this, that he will actually back the projects that their workers rely on to get on the job, and that they don't believe that the the Liberals or the NDP will. This union has never ever endorsed a federal Liberal or a federal Conservative ever. And and so this is major. Doug Ford here in Ontario, got, I think, 18 different construction unions endorsing him. I think we're going to see similar things with Pierre Pauliev. He's going to Hamilton tonight, and is going to have a number of union leaders come out and support him there. I'm told there will be more endorsements. And so I asked him about a strategy of turning blue collar workers into blue voters. And and he went on at length about about it and that, you know, it's and then he tied it back to housing. He said so many of the people in the trades that are building these houses now can't even afford to buy them, and that's how bad things have gotten under ten years of of liberal, liberal rule. Speaker 1: Oh my gosh. Okay. Speaking of the liberals, another former Trudeau cabinet minister Sean Fraser said that he wouldn't run-in this election, but now he's changing his mind. First off, is he even allowed to do that, and is this a good sign or a bad sign for the Kearney liberals? Speaker 0: It depends on your view. If you're a Kearney liberal and you support, Mark Kearney, then this is great. Sean Fraser's back. Hooray. And and, yes, he is allowed to do that. He the the the local party had not chosen a candidate, and so he's jumping back in just like Anita Anand and some others. Yeah. Look. Sean Fraser was the guy in charge of housing when things got really, really bad. He was in charge of immigration when the system was broken. We had a an immigration system in this country that was the envy of the world. We had an immigration system that had wide support for high levels of immigration, and then they put that system on steroids. They threw out a lot of the rules that made Canada's system work when other countries don't. That's who Sean Fraser is, but he's only back in now because polling has the the Liberals ahead in Nova Scotia, and and he thinks he can win, again, whereas before he was convinced he was going to lose. So he wanted to spend more time with his family. Apparently, he's not that interested in spending more time with his family anymore. You know, I I had just been asked about Fraser the other day and whether he would come back, and I said, I don't think so. My understanding is he's got young kids, and he was genuine when he said he wanted to spend more time with his family, unlike many other politicians. Now it turns out I was wrong. Speaker 1: Well, it turns out we're out of time here too, Brian. But thanks for joining us today from the field there, political reporter and Toronto Sun columnist Brian Lilley.

When a country's currency depreciates, it often reflects a weaker economy. Typically, stronger economies have stronger currencies. For instance, the Canadian dollar is depreciating against the US dollar due to several factors. One major reason is the decline in oil prices, which is Canada's largest export. Additionally, the Bank of Canada is cutting interest rates more aggressively to address the weaker economy, prompting investors to prefer higher rates in the US. For the average Canadian, this depreciation means higher prices for imported goods, as Canada imports about one-third of its economy, impacting everyday items like food and machinery.
Full Transcript
Speaker 0: What does it mean when the currency of a country depreciates? Speaker 1: Well, I'll tell you what I've been saying to my students. Country with a strong economy, typically, in all the years I've been studying economies around the world, a country with a strong economy usually has a strong currency. And countries around the world, and certainly many countries in the developing world that I visited and taught in over 35 years often have depreciating currencies reflecting weaker economies. So the it there's legitimacy and of using that, interpretation to apply to Canada against the US dollar. The US economy is much stronger and the Canadian economy measured on a whole bunch of statistics that we can look at is not doing as well as the United States. And so it's depreciating. I can wait on the reasons in a moment, the specific reasons, but it's depreciating against the US dollar. Speaker 0: Well, let's go into the reasons. Can we do that? Speaker 1: Sure. The well, there's there's there's actually 3, I think that are widely seen as as driving this. One is oil. Our largest export forever has been oil and natural gas. And oil is down to below $70 a barrel. And so when the price of oil goes down, we get less money. And the increasing divergence between the Canadian and American, economies, which is leading to more rapid interest rate cuts by the Bank of Canada to deal with the weaker economy. People say that's great. I want interest rates to go down. Yes, indeed. But America people that are investors can say, gee whiz, I can go and invest at a higher rate in the United States. So I'm gonna sell my Canadian dollars to buy American dollars to get that higher rate in the US because they're not reducing as aggressively. Speaker 0: Okay. We just have a couple seconds left. What does this mean for the average Canadian, the depreciation of the Canadian dollar? Speaker 1: Well, I have to disagree with those people who say whoopee whoopee, this is a great thing. I wanna remind everybody, we import 1 third of the totality of our economy. Think blueberries, we can't grow them in the winter in a snowbank. Think, carrots and tomatoes and lettuce and John Deere tractors. And there's many many things we import. When the dollar goes down, the Canadian dollar goes down, those imported goods, 1 third of our total economy, they go up in price. So that's the biggest hit to Canadians is higher prices in Canada for all those imported goods, which are very substantial.

🇨🇦Here is the “full video” on the Laffer Curve that I posted on yesterday. This is when taxes are so high people start evading them or simply stop working. Canada is here and why our future is so bleak. https://t.co/uQ7X9WrNQv

Video Transcript AI Summary
The Laffer Curve shows the relationship between tax rates and tax revenues. At 0% tax rates, there are no revenues. At 100%, no one works, also resulting in 0 revenues. There is an optimal tax rate where revenues are maximized. The curve illustrates the balance between raising tax rates for more revenue (arithmetic effect) and lowering tax rates to stimulate economic activity (economic effect). Politicians should aim for the point where tax rates are not too high to discourage work but not too low to reduce revenue. The Laffer Curve is a tool to understand the impact of tax policy on government revenue.

Speaker 0: The Laffer Curve is the relationship between tax rates and total tax revenues. And by the way, I did not name it the Laffer Curve, and it's been around for centuries centuries. In fact, the first reference to it I really know is in the Muqaddimah. In 13/81, Ibn Khaldun described it this way. At the beginning of dynasties, tax rates are low and revenues are high. At the end of dynasties, tax rates are high and revenues are low. That's the sort of logic behind it. But let me, if I can, say, how much would you work if you were taxed at a 100% so that every time you go to the office, instead of getting a check, you get a bill? Obviously, you wouldn't work at all, and there'd be no work. But, also, the tax revenues would be 0. Now that's this point right here on the Laffer curve. At a 100% tax rates, no one will find there's any incentive whatsoever to work. They won't work, and tax revenues will be 0 as well. Now as you start lowering tax rates to 99 to 98 to 97, somewhere along the line, all of a sudden, you're gonna find it worthwhile to start working. And you're gonna see revenues starting to rise. The other point of the Laffer Curve that's fixed is at 0 tax rates. At 0 tax rates. If there are no taxes, of course, the government's not gonna collect any revenues. We're gonna have a lot of output, employment, and production, but there'll be no revenues. And that's this point down here. And, again, at this point, if they start raising tax rates as they start raising tax rates, what you're gonna find is the revenues are gonna increase, but they're gonna increase at slower and slower rates. And these two curves will come at a point, the maximum point out here. Now, the key thing about the Laffer Curve that makes it fairly interesting for politicians is to remember it's a pedagogic device, not an explicit measure of any one country. But what it does show you is that there are 2 tax rates that give the same amount of revenue. There's a high tax rate and a low tax rate. No country should ever want to be in that high tax rate range. I mean, why would you ever wanna tax at this point where if you lowered tax rates, you collected more money, and you have more output, employment, and production? So this is the Laffer Curve, which really brings together the debate about taxes. There are 2 effects taxes have on revenues. Number 1, which we call the arithmetic effect, if you raise tax rates, you do collect more revenue per dollar of tax base. That's the arithmetic effect. But there's also the economic effect, which if you re reduce increase tax rates, you reduce the attractiveness of doing the activity, and you will shrink the tax base. These two effects, the arithmetic effect and the economic effect, always work in the opposite direction. In this range, the arithmetic effect wins, and you get more revenues by raising tax rates. In this range, the economic effect wins, which by raising tax rates, you actually get less revenues because you do more and more damage to the tax base. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is the Laffer curve. Thank you.

The speaker discusses the negative impact of a high capital gains tax on the economy, referencing the Laffer curve. The Laffer curve, created by economist Laffer, illustrates that excessive taxation can lead people to evade taxes, work less, or leave the country. Moderate taxes are generally accepted, but high taxes can cause individuals to opt out of the system, resulting in lower tax revenue.

I mean, you you might as well just make They don't understand the laugher curve. They don't understand the Laffer curve. And for people who don't know what the Laffer curve is, it's this this concept that was that was brought up by, an economist called Laffer. His name was Laffer. And he he came up with a curve saying like, you know, when you tax the public, at a certain point the taxes get so great that people will opt out of the system. Like, and they'll have different ways of opting out. They'll cheat on their taxes. They'll they'll, you know, limit how much they work. They'll just stop working. You know, certain people will just work under the table. They'll leave the country entirely if they're wealthy enough. Like all of these, aspects when the taxes get too great. Because when taxes are, you know, at a medium range, people are like, okay, well, taxes are unavoidable. I'm going to just pay my taxes, whatever. And and that's that's the way it goes. And you usually have more income generated from taxes at a lower rate. Yes.

I am a baby boomer who has saved money to pass down to my family. Politicians get countries in debt by overspending and wasting money. Countries are broke because politicians spend more than they can raise in taxes, borrow excessively, and print money. This irresponsible behavior is immoral, and taxpayers should not have to pay for it. It's time to acknowledge that these countries are bankrupt due to failed leadership.

Speaker 0: Well, I'm a baby boomer. I was born just after the war. We've had probably we've probably, had the longest period of peace and prosperity, globally, I would say, from that time. I've put a little bit of modest money away so I can hand something down to my family when I pass on, largely because I've never spent more money than I've earned, and I've been prudent, and I've worked moderately hard. Now it always seems as to me as a complete surprise to politicians how countries get in debt. Let me explain because I don't think you really understand it. It's because politicians consistently spend more money than they raise in taxation, more money than they can possibly raise in taxation, most of which, in point of fact, they actually waste. The reason we're talking about countries which are broke, and they are broke, is because they're ridiculous, ineffective, ignorant politicians consistently spend more money than they can raise, and then they borrow, and they borrow, and worse, they then print money because politicians and their central banks have a machine which prints money. You do that as a private citizen, and it's a criminal offense. You would go to prison for doing that, and politicians and their central banks do it all the time. Let me explain to you that these countries are broke, and they're broke because of their own stupid leadership and politicians. And it's immoral immoral to ask ordinary taxpayers of any country to pick up the tab for failed politicians and failed banks. They are defaulted. They're broke. For God's sake, let's all of us admit it.

A secret RCMP report warns the Trudeau government of potential civil unrest due to economic struggles in Canada. Job vacancies are decreasing, causing unhappiness among young Canadians. The housing crisis is preventing many under 35 from owning homes. The government's poor housing policies are to blame. Immigration restrictions are being implemented, impacting the workforce. The report aims to alert the government to these issues. Trudeau's promises of a better Canada have not been fulfilled, leading to discontent among the population.

Speaker 0: A secret report has been sent to the Trudeau government by the RCMP, that's the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. The report basically says that once the people of Canada realize how broke they are, they will start protesting. This will not be a silent protest. The Canadian police is referring to a civil unrest. The kind that's capable of changing have a look at what's happening in the country. The economy is in a bad shape. Just have a look at what's happening in the country. The economy is in a bad shape. People are struggling to make their ends meet. Canada's job market has become tighter. As per the government data, there was a 3.6% decrease in job vacancies in the last quarter of 2023. The number of vacancies fell to a 678,500. This is the 6th consecutive quarterly decline. A new Gallup poll has found that Canadians under the age of 30 are very unhappy. And among the many reasons is the lack of trust in the government. The future looks darker. Let me just read out what this police report says. I'm quoting, the coming period of recession will accelerate the decline in living standards that the younger generations have already witnessed compared to the earlier generations. For example, many Canadians under 35 are unlikely ever to be able to buy a place to live. Buying a house is the dream of a lot of people, of a lot of families. And going forward, they may never be able to fulfill that dream. Mind you, this is for no fault of theirs. It is not because those under 30 are not making enough money or not working hard enough or not saving enough for the future. Coming in between them and their dream of owning a house is Canada's housing crisis. There aren't enough houses in the country courtesy bad policy and bad planning. Who's bad planning, you ask? The people or the government? The latter, of course. In 1987, the federal government decided to get out of housing and leave the issue to the provinces. What followed were years of under built housing. The Steins have been around. Did the government decide not to see this Or did they simply choose to ignore it? You know, a lot of people immigrate to Canada each year in pursuit of happiness, in pursuit of what they consider a good life, but today, this very same country is failing to provide something as basic as housing. So are you really surprised that the Canadian Mounted Police is warning of mayhem? The situation in Canada is so dire that the country is being forced to cap immigration, which again is bad news for the economy. The people coming into Canada contribute to the workforce. They add to the GDP. But here you have Canada, which for the first time ever is also restricting temporary foreign workers. Earlier this week, Canadian officials said Ottawa will be reducing the number of temporary residents who are temporary residents, you ask? Foreign workers who are in Canada on work permits. International students, Canada aims to reduce the number of temporary residents to 5% of the population. Currently, it's at 6.2%. Starting the first of May, Canada will be putting a restriction on the number of work permits being handed out to foreigners. Currently, 30% of a company's workforce can be made of temporary foreign workers. This will now be reduced to 20%. Healthcare and construction will remain exceptions. So that's the direction Canada is heading in. The job of this RCMP report is to highlight the trends within Canada and outside that could have a significant impact on the Canadian government. If worsening of living standards, if the inability to pursue happiness does not impact a government in a democracy, I wonder what else does. People elected Trudeau because he promised a better Canada. What he delivered is appeasement politics. A foreign policy built on conspiracy theories, polarization, an economy that's making life for the Canadians so difficult that they may soon have no choice but

And it exists because, people came from countries where they could not speak freely, where if they if they did if they did speak their mind, they would be imprisoned or killed. That's that's why they were so so concerned, about freedom of speech is because they didn't have it in the countries they came from. And in many places in the world, maybe most places, you don't have freedom of speech. And, you know, there's certainly no country has the protection on speech that the United States does. Not even not even in Canada. So that's, it's something we should really, take pride in and, and seek to preserve. I I mean, I think that the the the bedrock of democracy is freedom of speech, because if if you can't if if you can't, say what you wanna say, then I think that's essentially political coercion if if you you know? So, anyway, there's there's a reason why it's there there was a high urgency to amend the constitution with the first amendment, was because if you if you don't have freedom of speech, you got nothing.

I dealt with this months ago. But recently, some things have been coming more and more light that are showing me that people are getting duped into what they are labeling as misinformation or disinformation. And I wanted to use a use case here. And the 1st person I want to address is this person that blocked me called Timothy Caulfield. Maybe you know him, maybe you don't know him. I don't care, but he blocked me for a reason. And I think I'm gonna set the stage with what was going on throughout the pandemic. Well, it's actually really simple. They they went off of an old 2020, Canadian perspective survey series questionnaire for COVID nineteen. And some of this stuff that you could see on the screen is, for example, What did you do to check the accuracy of the information? And you had to pick check box 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 or 5, 6, 7. Whatever. It doesn't matter. The point is this. StatsCAD didn't actually do the research. Average. Timothy isn't going off of the actual raw data. What he's doing is he's going off of what Karim and, Clemens did, which was to go back to this. But I wanna show you the raw numbers because I'm a bit OCD, and some of you know me. I'm I like making fun of people that are in power who claim to know what it is that's right or wrong. So I'm gonna show you what it looks like before we get into the details. This is what StatsCan Questionnaires come back looking like, I'll share all these in a Google Drive with you, by the way. You'll see them. They're titled. They're official. They're from the government. It even gives you guides. I tallied everything. I crunched all the numbers up, and it basically gave me more or less this. But what I really want you to pay attention to is the question there about since the beginning of COVID nineteen pandemic, how often have you seen information related to COVID nineteen on the internet? This is what Timothy's talking about, that you suspected was misleading. He said over 90% and kind of on the daily, right? So get this. You look at this and when you crunch these numbers down based off of that questionnaire that I just showed you that I will share with you, You end up with a basically 613 not knowing, okay? 171 never, rarely seeing. Remember, this is about seeing misleading information. And the other 1 is at least once a week. So we're not even at the daily yet. This is the daily portion right up here. These 2. All this completely refused Timothy here. Now, let me tell you a little bit more about Timothy. Who is Timothy? And what does Timothy do? Timothy happens to be a professor And, you know, funny enough, you see his you see his, in the Edmondson Journal, talks about getting a grant from the government it. To combat COVID nineteen misinformation from at the tune of $400,000. What makes Timothy so special? Why why him? Is he Just oh, well, I mean, it turns out that Timothy Caulfield is an alum with the Trudeau Foundation. That's funny. I thought that like Timothy Caulfield it. It was just some random guy. No. There are connections here. And what I'm hoping and I'll I'll I'll switch to this last slide to give you an idea of what we're talking about. What I'm hoping is that legislatures and people in government, whether it's CPC, liberal, NDP, and mostly for us, ask the common people. Understand that when statistics are given by governments and you just immediately take them at their word, not recognizing that there are there There's money at play. There's special interests at play and that you can come to very fictitious and false conclusions and then con everybody in the middle of a pandemic. Well, I mean, that's really that's really more or less what it is that we were fighting. And at this point, in In my mind, it's pretty simple. He blocked me. Mr. Getting paid $400,000 to fight misinformation. Yeah. I'm gonna block you because you're misinformation. But I just showed you all the raw data, Timothy, the 96% kind on the daily. What is anyone in government gonna do about this? What's anyone in government gonna do questioning him? I mean, this is kind of important stuff, and I wanted to keep it shorter than this, but I wanted you to see it. You're going to see it in the comments. I'm going to drop it in the drive. Everything that I just showed you, you're going to see it. You don't have to follow him. Please don't bad mouth him. That's not that's not my business here. It's not what I'm trying to do. What I'm trying to do is show you that there's an actor That is connected to the liberal government, and at the same time is spreading misinformation while being a professor who was given a grant a to fight misinformation. So yeah.

The video discusses the Trudeau Foundation and its connections to political power and influence in Canada. It highlights how former Trudeau Foundation members have been appointed to prominent positions in the government, often providing political cover for Prime Minister Justin Trudeau during scandals. The video also raises concerns about foreign interference, particularly from the Beijing regime, and how the Trudeau Foundation has received significant funding from foreign donors. Speaker 0: Enormous opportunity and enormous potential in that realization. Speaker 1: If you could see political power, it would be this brown, unassuming building on a downtown street in Ottawa. Behind these doors, decisions worth 100 of 1,000,000,000 of dollars and decisions that impact the lives of millions of people. And Canada's relations with foreign powers are made every day. When they say the halls of power, these are the halls. For some elites and special interests, getting through these doors and getting that money and influence is the only thing that matters. What's good for the country, what's good For Canadians, those considerations are 2nd and the distant third. Power, money, and influence is the name of the game for them. There's a thing, who do you know in the PMO? Under the Trudeau government, the concentration of power and influence has evolved. It's more complicated. The PMO uses outside organization and a series of appointments to prominent positions to help keep Trudeau and his liberal government in office. This is this story about an organization that shares the same name as the prime minister. This is a story about how it began getting a lot of cash from foreign donors. At the same time a seeming straight line of appointments and political influence appeared between the Trudeau Foundation and the moment. The implications of this are extraordinary. This is a story about the Trudeau Foundation. As I thought about this, I began to realize the way that this is organized, influence, political cover, money and positions. You have prime minister Trudeau at the top. Then there are all those he and his government have appointed to prominent positions and special roles. Of course, Justin Trudeau often turns to these reliable allies when he finds himself in hot water. So let's call this what it is. The Trudeau Family Foundation was started by the in taxpayer's money. Let's meet some notable Trudeau Foundation alumni, senator Peter Harder, former Trudeau Foundation mentor, former head of the Canada China Business Council. He was Trudeau's transition team head when the Liberals took power in 2015. Then Trudeau made him his 1st senate permanent leader. You get Lavelle, former Trudeau Foundation mentor. Trudeau named her chair of the advisory board for Senate appointments. Anne McClellan, Trudeau appointed bird to report on the SNC Lavalin scandal, Trudeau Foundation mentor David Johnston. Trudeau named him special rapporteur on foreign election interference. Speaker 0: But there should not and need not be a separate formal public inquiry. Speaker 1: Senators Frances Lankin, Renee D'Tweet, Patricia Bovey, Michelle Audette, and senator Patty Lebopin Benson, the new senate government deputy leader, all Trudeau Foundation alumni. The list goes on and on. The Liberals have former Trudeau Foundation alumni appointed to positions throughout government, and a pattern emerges here. Frequently, when Justin Trudeau gets caught in a scandal, and I don't know if you've noticed, but there have been a view. He just flips open his little book of Trudeau Foundation contacts and calls on one of them to give him some political cover. We saw this with SNC Lavalin. We saw this with sexual misconduct in Canada's military, and we're seeing it again now with the Beijing election interference current scandal. But hold on. Governments appoint people all the time. What's the big issue here? It comes back to influence, especially with what we've learned recently about Beijing's attempts to interfere in Canadian democracy. Foreign powers have quickly discovered that it's easier to fly under the radar than it is to slip through those big big metal doors at the prime minister's office. If you just approach organizations like the Trudeau Foundation and shower them with money, you can still get power and influence. And sure enough, at the same time Trudeau was elected liberal leader, we see huge amount of cash flowing from foreign donors, some even from the hostile Beijing regime, to the Trudeau Foundation. And this has continued. We've seen a stunning amount of waffling and inaction by the Trudeau government on many issues concerning the communist Chinese regime's relations with Canada. Police stations operated by the Beijing dictatorship on Canadian soil. The Trudeau government refused to ban Huawei for years only after our closest allies applied extraordinary pressure. Did they reverse that decision? Trudeau and his liberal cabinet refused to stand up in the House of Commons and vote for the motion condemning Beijing's genocide of its Uighur people. Speaker 0: Well, the House of Commons voted overwhelmingly 266 to 0 To call China's treatment of the Uighur population, the Muslim minority in Western China, a genocide. But the liberal cabinet, Including the prime minister, they didn't just abstain. They didn't even show up for the vote. Speaker 1: We even know that a Canadian member of parliament's his family faced threats from the communist regime for him proposing the Uighur genocide motion. It is clearer every day that the Beijing regime actively influence the last 2 Canadian elections. Trudeau was advised about it and did nothing. Justin Trudeau once again turned newest Trudeau Foundation contacts to help manage his way out of this mess. He tapped former Trudeau Foundation CEO Morris Rosenberg to report on foreign interference in the 2019 and 2021 elections. He concluded nothing to see here. Both national security committees, NSCOFT and NSCIRA, tasked by Trudeau to study foreign election interference, contain Trudeau Foundation alumni. And remember David Donston. Justin Trudeau appointed him to decide if there should be a public inquiry into Beijing election interference, and he decided that we won't have a public inquiry dealing with Beijing election interference. Shocker. Speaker 0: But there should not and need not be a separate formal public inquiry. Speaker 1: We have to stop and take stock of this. How did this happen? How much does Trudeau interact with the Trudeau Foundation? He's claimed 0. The prime minister says there are no links between him and the Trudeau Foundation, completely separate. And any money coming from the communist regime in Beijing. He has no idea what anyone's talking about. The actual facts contradict peace claims. Trudeau has deep connections with the Trudeau Foundation Organization. It boasts his last name. His brother, Alexandre Trudeau, received the notorious Beijing donation and remains a Trudeau Foundation member. Justin Trudeau's government can appoint 6 Trudeau Foundation members and 2 directors to its board. The Trudeau Foundation even met with several meant deputy ministers within the PM's very office building. They got in the doors, and Justin Trudeau has appointed any Trudeau Foundation alumni to plum positions in his government. At the start of this video, I asked what political power or looked like. I said probably the best example is the prime minister's office building in Ottawa, but I was wrong. Under Trudeau, whole power isn't held within the halls of government or even in Ottawa. The path to power leads from Justin Trudeau's doorstep to an office in Montreal. So it turns out that old saying needs updating. Who do you know in the Trudeau Foundation?

Liberals previously allocated 600M to buy media before the election. Now, Freeland has increased subsidies per journalist from $13,750 to 29,750. The Liberal government has expanded the Canadian journalism tax credit, allowing news outlets to claim up to 35% of up to $85,000 in salary for a qualified employee. The tax credit was initially set at 25% of up to $55,000 in salary per employee. The newly expanded tax credit will be retroactive to the beginning of 2023 and is projected to cost the federal government $129 million over 5 years. Postmedia Network, Canada's largest newspaper publisher, expressed gratitude for the support, but emphasized the need for structural reforms in the media industry. Critics argue that the estimate of 860 employees benefiting from the tax credit is far too low, considering there are approximately 11,000 journalists in Canada. The impact of Bill C-18, the Online News Act, and its potential effects on sourcing stories and media independence are also discussed.

Speaker 0: The Liberals must have noticed that the mainstream media is softening on the conservatives lately as they sense the winds of political change blowing and not in their favor. Speaker 1: As part of the fall economic statement, the Liberals have committed to allocating a fortune to continuing to bail out the failing news organizations. Speaker 0: Here's a National Post article we found today. The Liberals expand payroll tax credit for news publishing in fall S. And the U. S. And the U. S. And the U. S. And the U. S. And the U. S. And the U. S. And the U. S. And the U. S. And the U. S. And the U. S. And the U. S. And the U. Credit allowing qualifying news outlets to claim up to 35% of up to $85,000 in salary for a Qualified employee. A federal program allowing news publishers to claim a tax credit for a portion of journalists' salaries is set to increase, the Liberal government announced Tuesday. The government's fall economic statement announced an increase to the Canadian journalism tax credit, A refundable tax credit allowing qualifying news outlets to claim up to 35% of up to $85,000 in salary for a qualified employee. That's an increase from the credits initial allowance of 25% of up to $55,000 in salary per employee. First announced in the government's 2018 fall economic statement and made official in the 2019 federal budget, the tax credit was designed to support print news publishers. The newly expanded tax credit will be retroactive to the beginning of 2023, the economic update said. It projects the cost to the federal government will be $129,000,000 over 5 years. Speaker 1: Andrew Cloud, president and chief executive officer of Postmedia Network who also owns National Post, Canada's largest newspaper publisher, Among many other titles, said he was pleased with the announcement Tuesday. Quote, it's a very difficult and extremely challenging environment and this is a Clear indication from the federal government that they understand that there's a crisis, and they're stepping forward with meaningful support, end quote, he said. MacLeod expressed gratitude to Canada's heritage and finance minister as well as the president of the treasury board for supporting Canadian journalism. Quote, while the tax credits are extremely meaningful, the industry and government need to move the conversation to structural reforms So that the Canadian domestic media industry can compete and architect its own future, end quote, he added. Only news outlets To meet the government's conditions of being a, quote, qualified Canadian journalism organization, end quote, are eligible for the tax credit. To do so, they must be, quote, engaged in the production of original news content, end quote and quote, Primarily focused on matters of general interest and reports of current events including coverage of democratic institutions and processes, says, end quote, according to the current legislation. Employees whose salaries are eligible under the tax credit are those who work at least 26 hours per week And devote at least 75% of their day to day job performing news gathering, reporting, writing or Researching. Speaker 0: So what does this mean in dollars and cents? It means that before Freeland tabled this update, They were bailing out 13,750 per news employee and that has now increased to up to $29,750 per news employee. That is outrageous. Speaker 1: So here's the thing about that. They're projecting that it's going to cost $129,000,000 over 5 years, But that's not a fixed amount. They're just guessing based on what that tax credit could could possibly be. So it could be actually much Much higher than that. So that's the problem with this Liberal government is they never actually have Firm costing estimate, and it's no wonder that they're running a $40,000,000,000 a year deficit. Speaker 0: Well and just by my math, if They take $129,000,000 and divide that by, let's say, roughly $30,000 per employee. That equals 4,300 employees. Now divide that by 5 years And that means you're only giving this credit to 860 employees per year. Speaker 1: Right so that estimate is really Really far off what the real estimate, no doubt, is. Speaker 0: So according to new Canadian media. Ca, the Estimated number of journalists in Canada is about 11,000 in 2021. Now, not all of those 11,000 journalists are going to meet those requirements set out by the government. But I imagine that it's gonna be more than 860 journalists per year that will qualify for this grant. Speaker 1: Well, and remember, it's not just the journalists. It's people producing. It's people writing. It's like Speaker 0: It's people researching. Speaker 1: So It's a lot more than just the journalists. Right? So you're talking tens of thousands of employees. 129,000,000? That's not even that's not even gonna be close. Speaker 0: Now news about Bill c 18 has all but disappeared, And that's because all of the saber rattling from the government and media organizations to investigate Meta has had no effect at all. However, time is running out because C18 comes into effect as of December 19th this year, referring to a CTV News The Online News Act is set to come into effect no later than 180 days after June 22nd, The date received a Royal Assent. This means the new policies within the bill are on track to be in effect as of December 2023. Work is now underway on the federal government side of the bill to create the regulatory framework that will bring Bill C18 into effect. On September 1st, the Department of Canadian Heritage released the proposed regulations for implementing the online news act, Providing what senior officials framed as the clarity platforms asked for around the implications of the new law. Unveiling the regulations has kicked off consultations with key Stakeholders on how the framework should be finalized. Speaker 1: Referring to a article written by Michael Geist, once the law takes effect, The clock of negotiations and potential mediation and arbitration begins. The timelines are fixed in section 19 one of the law. 90 days to negotiate and 120 days for mediation. If there is no agreement and no request to the CRTC to extend the deadlines, The issue can go to final offer arbitration. To be clear, none of these timelines are subject to the regulation making process. They are fixed, and they create obvious urgency for anyone facing compliance requirements. Speaker 0: So how will this impact Northern Perspective? Well, we may or may not be able to properly source our stories as we usually do because we directly link to articles that we use in the description. This means that in the future, we may have to cite our sources in a different way that we're still deciding upon. Speaker 1: What we do know is that if Meta and Google don't budge and if the government continues its failed game of chicken, It's going to be the Canadian taxpayer that is funding the alleged independent media. But how independent can media be When the government is now paying 35% of all of the news related staff salaries. Speaker 0: The short as well as the long answer are equally simple. They can't be independent of

Speaker 1: Actually, you're wrong. Are you a CP? Okay. So CP, by the way, CP, just for everyone's knowledge, Did have to make 3 corrections for falsehoods that they put into a single article. I think that might be unprecedented. I'm actually thinking about checking with the Guinness Book of World Records to see if there's ever been a news agency that has had to issue 3 corrections For patent falsehoods that they admit they had been made in 1 single article, and now you've made yet another falsehood in your question. Where you are wrong is that CTV reported that the government of Canada was presuming that the incident was terrorist. So, yeah, that was and that's what I said in my remarks. You're right. It was a media report. Speaker 0: But say media report, they're not Which Speaker 1: is what I said in the house. I said there are media reports. What kind of statement? Speaker 0: You there. 2nd desk at Blue Jacket. What is your name? My name is Alexis. Alexis, Please leave my lecture room. I don't want to see you at one of my lectures ever again. I don't understand. I am not gonna ask a second time. Thank you. Why are there laws? What are laws for? Anyone? Social order? To protect the person's personal rights. So that you can rely on the government? Justice? Thank you. Tell me, was I unfair to your classmate just now? Indeed, I was. So why didn't any of you protest? Why didn't any of you try and stop me? Why didn't you want to to prevent this injustice. You see, What you have just learned, you wouldn't have understood in a 1000 hours of lectures unless you lived it. You didn't say anything because you weren't affected yourself, and this attitude speaks against you and against life. You think it doesn't concern you, so it's none of your business. Well, I'm here to say, If you don't help bring about justice, then one day you too may experience injustice and there will be nobody there to stand before you. Truth and justice lives through us all, and and and we must fight for it. Because in life and work, I mean, we often live next to each other but not with each other. We console ourselves that the problems of others are nothing to do with us, none of our business and we go home glad at night That was spared but it's about standing up for each other. Every day an injustice happens in business, Sport or on the tram, relying on someone else to take care of it is not good enough. It is our duty to be there for others, to speak up for others when they cannot. I am here to teach you the power of your voice. I want you to learn Critical thinking to empower you to stand up for what is right even if it means going against what everyone else is doing. Let's begin.

Video Transcript AI Summary
In a divided and toxic political climate, Canada experienced a decline in its economy, national debt, and energy industry. Laws meant to protect citizens were exploited for government control, and promises were broken. Scandals tainted the integrity of leadership, leading to record inflation, a housing crisis, and soaring food costs. The inexperience of a school teacher and journalist in making economic decisions had crippling consequences. Citizens' hard-earned money was seized, innocent people were arrested, and freedoms were discarded. Divisive politics labeled peaceful Canadians as racists and homophobes. However, there is hope for change as a new government promises to prioritize the people and rebuild a united Canada.

Speaker 0: Time where politics is is divided and toxic in so many ways. Speaker 1: In 2015, a promise echoed across our land. Real change. A promise of hope, of progress, of a better Canada. Our nation's youth embrace this vision simply based on the legalization of marijuana. But little did we know that real change would arrive indeed. Our once mighty economy began to wither with resource jobs slipping away like grains of sand through our fingers. As we watched in despair, Our national debt clock spiraled into a grotesque insurmountable burden. Our energy industry, the backbone of our nation, lay in ruins. A victim of propaganda and virtue signaling. Our global standing, once held in high regard, now teetered on the precipice of irrelevance, isolating Canada from the world. Divisiveness reigned, and our unity shattered like glass on con Speaker 0: To be a politician, this is a time where politics is is divided and toxic in so many ways. Speaker 1: Laws meant to protect us were exploited for sinister government control. Speaker 2: K. Now when it comes to attacking freedom, this government just can't help itself. They are absolutely committed to censoring what we can see, what we can say, and what we can hear online. Speaker 1: Promises were shattered and the hallowed ground of freedom trampled upon. Speaker 3: We are committed to ensuring that the 2015 election will be the last federal election using first pass the post. Registering your guns is is just the first step towards taking away guns That's never gonna happen because here in Canada, we have a culture that has that has grown up with tents and it respects the need to to go out into the wilderness and shoot things from Speaker 4: It is no longer permitted to buy, sell, transport, import, or use Military grade assault weapons in this country. Speaker 1: Scandals cast a long dark shadow over the integrity of our leadership, Our economic lifeline severed, our future held hostage. Record inflation, a housing crisis, and food costs soaring beyond reach. Canadians were left to bear the burden. Economic decisions left to the inexperienced, A school teacher and a journalist had consequences crippling our nation. Norm shattered, the emergency act invoked, And the unjust seizure of citizens' hard earned money, including donations from supportive citizens. Speaker 2: So you're confirming that accounts have been frozen both personal and Speaker 1: Innocent citizens arrested, unjustly detained, their freedoms discarded like yesterday's news. The world laughed as our leader paraded in a ceaseless spectacle of empty virtue. Speaker 0: A creep dictator for a prime minister, and that's what he is. Speaker 1: Divisive politics tore the nation apart, And the leader assumed power with only 32% of the vote. Peaceful Canadians labeled as racists, Nazis, and homophobic for daring to raise their voices. But despair will not define us, and hardship shall not break us. There's a beacon of hope on the horizon. Speaker 5: Tonight begins the journey to replace an old government that costs you more and delivers you less with a new government that puts you first. Speaker 1: Together we rise, rebuild, and demand the real change we were promised. A future where true change isn't just a promise, but a legacy. A Canada where hope reigns, unity prevails, and greatness is within reach. Speaker 2: That unity that we have is what we want for our Canada.

My colleague will know, in this case, the Border Services Agency, as part of their internal audit, uncovered information that they then subsequently referred to the appropriate police authorities. And, mister speaker, that's exactly what has to happen in these cases, And we should let the RCMP do whatever work they think is appropriate in this concerning circumstance.

Speaker 0: Government will stop at nothing to cover up their corruption. Yesterday, in a brazen effort to shield the prime minister, liberal and NDP MPs voted to shut down committee to block the RCMP commissioner from answering questions about the prime minister's obstruction of an RCMP criminal investigation into his conduct during the SNC Lavalin scandal. This is the same prime minister who instructed justice to protect SNC Labuan, and when his attorney general stood up to him, he fired her. The same prime minister who's been found guilty of multiple ethical violations, and now we learn the same prime minister who thwarted a criminal investigation into his own wrongdoing. The record of this prime minister is one of corruption and cover up. After 8 years, he's not worth the cost. Speaker 1: So you're officially moving to adjourn the meeting today. Speaker 2: To adjourn the meeting. Speaker 1: What it's it's it's a nondebatable motion, mister Barrett, unfortunately. The, were you were you asking this on a point of order, madam? For sure you were just making a Speaker 2: Well Well, chair, that that's not how these meetings are conducted. You you read your remarks. She inter she interrupted you. Speaker 1: It's not The witnesses were to give hear what he was saying. Speaker 2: The witness the witnesses The witnesses were to give the witnesses were to give testimony, and and now we have we have government members looking to shut down a hearing on on a very serious matter with respect to a criminal investigation into the prime minister. And we have the commissioner of the Royal Committee, the minister, at the table. This is is unacceptable. This is unacceptable. Speaker 1: I'm going to ask you for a second, please, to, to just refrain. So Madame Fortier had the floor. She, moved the motion. The motion is not debatable. So we're gonna have to we're gonna have to go to the vote. And I assume that there's no I assume that there's no, there's no agreement on this? Speaker 2: Certainly certainly, there's no agreement to shut down a meeting when we have the commissioner Chair. Speaker 1: Sorry. Chair. That's right. Yeah. Chair. Okay. We we're dealing with this right now. So I've made my ruling. We are going to go to the vote because it's a nondebatable, motion. Go ahead, madam clerk. Madam has moved that the motion be adjourned. Yes. Miss Danoff. Yes. Mister Callaway. Yes. Madam Fortier. We miss Carried. Yes. Mister Barratt? No. Mister Guillen? No. Mister Kirk. No. Mister Vandeau? Mister Dejali. Yes. Unbelievable. Speaker 2: Please, 7. Speaker 1: K. Thank you. The vote has passed. With apologies to the commissioner and the staff sergeant, this meeting is adjourned. Speaker 2: So we're here in the, the standing committee on access to information privacy and ethics. We literally have the commissioner for the RCMP in the room. We have a staff sergeant from the Trump. And we have these liberals right there. The vice the liberal vice chair Mona Forte just moved to adjourn the committee. These liberals, to shut it down, Mike Callaway, Harmbanes, hand them off, pick her call in, or negotiate. That's abs absolutely unacceptable. Look at them. They're very Speaker 1: proud to come What are you hiding? Speaker 2: The corruption of prime minister Justin Trudeau. And so when we have when we have the commissioner of the RCMP here to answer questions, and we have the cover up coalition do what they do, And they adjourned the meeting before the commissioner even read his statement. And so I can tell you that, we came here to work, meeting notice was given, And they, they are, walking out of the room. They're running with their tail between their legs because They because they're trying to protect, a prime minister who who refused to release information That the RCMP had requested, hiding behind cabinet confidence. Now the perfect the the purpose of cabinet confidence, Of course, is so that ministers are free to discuss decisions and the details of the discussions aren't released to the media. But what they've used The cabinet confidence provisions for in this case is to conceal information from the RCMP to prevent them From being able to fully investigate the obstruction of justice Charges that they were, that they were looking at at the time. And so it's it's It's shocking to find ourselves in a room where in just moments ago, these Liberals shut down the hearing. And And so we had the commissioner of the RCMP. He was right there just a moment ago. And, and that's what transparency And accountability looks like after 8 years of Justin Trudeau. I can tell you for our democratic institutions, this prime minister Is just not worth the cost, and we're gonna have more to say about

Trudeau’s Carbon Tax is a complete Scam. The video explains in great detail how it is a scam. For any Canadian that does not understand the Scam this is a must watch!

Video Transcript AI Summary
In this video, the speaker aims to debunk myths about the carbon tax. They argue that the carbon tax is indeed a tax, despite the government's attempts to label it differently. They also claim that the carbon tax is not effective in reducing emissions and is instead a tax plan rather than an environmental plan. The speaker highlights how the tax drives production out of Canada and into countries with lower environmental standards, ultimately increasing global emissions. They criticize the idea of the carbon tax being revenue neutral, stating that most Canadians end up paying more than they receive in rebates. The speaker concludes by advocating for a different approach to reducing greenhouse gas emissions through affordable alternative energies rather than taxing traditional forms of energy.

Speaker 0: In this video, I'd like to take a few minutes to completely destroy the myths that the Liberals have tried to fool you with about the Carbon tax. Myth number 1, the liberals try to convince you that the carbon tax isn't even a tax at all. They try to fool you into believing that it's some kind of Fund. Price or a Market Mechanism. Now a price is something that the free market determines based on supply and demand and cost production and you walk into a store and you see the price of something you pay that voluntarily if you don't like the price of something you have to pay it you can find another store that might sell it a little bit cheaper you might think about an alternative and you have all that choice when the government's that's a cost and forces you to pay it and collect it and you have no alternatives that's a tax tax. It's a tax every time, and it doesn't matter what they try to call it. The government spends it and collects it. That's a tax. Polluting? Type. If you're an architect, I'm sure you heard about Rhino and Grasshopper, and what types of projects you can create. Has been free. Tax. Myth number 2, the Liberals try to fool you into believing that the carbon tax is an environmental plan. It's not. It's a tax plan. Time. I remember in 2015 when Trudeau was running for prime minister the first time his environment plan was only a couple of paragraphs in his platform and all it said was that he was going to bring in a carbon tax that's it. Well years later it hasn't reduced emissions time. The liberals have missed every single one of the targets that they set for themselves for greenhouse gas emissions. Emissions are going up, the tax test. Going up along with it, it's not working, it's not an environmental plan, the people who should be opposed to the carbon tax the most tax are the people who are concerned about greenhouse gas emissions the most because the Liberals convinced people tax, but the carbon tax will be the tool that will reduce emissions and it simply hasn't, so we need to get rid of the carbon tax for the sake of our environment in fact the liberals have even kind of admitted that it's not working their plan is to triple triple tax triple the carbon tax it's going to go up by 300% starting this coming spring so Canadians are gonna pay even more tax. For everything they have to buy that's transported in, anything that a farmer has to grow, or a trucker has to ship, Tax. All of that is going to get more expensive as the Carbon Tax triples in the coming months years. Time. Now remember, they promised not to do this. This was an explicit promise. Now let's go back to the 2019 election tax. When conservatives were warning Canadians, the only way that they could get the carbon tax to even come close to working time was to dramatically increase it from its 2019 levels. And remember, former Liberal environment minister, Catherine McKenna was sent out by Justin Trudeau to accuse Conservatives of fear and misinformation. She went tax. And she completely, categorically denied that they were going to increase the carbon tax. And their friends in the Liberal media dutifully repeated time. Those talking points. Speaker 1: There's no intention to go up beyond that. There's no secret agenda that any decision time. To move up would be consultation, with provinces and territories. Speaker 0: After the 2019 election, when Justin Trudeau didn't need your votes, but he still needed your money? That's when he came clean and admitted to the carbon tax is going up. That's in stain. At a time of record high inflation when Canadians are already struggling to put food on the table and to pay their monthly bills, Tax. When the value of the money that they have worked so hard to earn is already being eroded by the inflationary deficits driving up the cost of goods and services. While all of that is going on, Justin Trudeau is saying it's not enough. He needs more. We've been lacking for far too long from the previous government. What we're also guaranteeing is, that this, tax, this, pricing, tax. What is the carbon tax actually do other than make things more expensive on the store It's actually quite devastating when you follow through the logic. You see, as the Carbon Tax makes producing things more expensive here in Canada, type. Those manufacturers, those producers, those companies start to look at other jurisdictions without a carbon tax, to move their operations. Tax. So, when a Canadian company gets their energy bill, and sees that carbon tax, they instantly start to look at alternatives, time, and that means they look to other countries to make their goods, and products, and what's been going on over the last time. 2 years is alarming, as more and more production moves away from Canada to polluting countries that don't have the same environmental standards that time Canada has, global emissions actually go up. Well, welcome to Xijiazhuang, China's most polluted. In fact, time. By some measures, it is the most polluted city on the planet. You see, China has made the decision that it's not going to even try to hit time, greenhouse gas emissions targets until its economy is back up and running, and they made the conscious choice that they're going to go out and try to tax. Gobble up as much economic activity from other countries that are dumb enough to impose a carbon tax on their people, And they're going to bring that production and that manufacturing to their country. So, in short, more and more things are made and produced in China. Those products have to get shipped over to North America, burning diesel fuel all along the ocean voyage. They They then have to get trucks from ports into the store shelves in your local neighbourhood, emitting greenhouse gases all along the way. So what the carbon tax does is drive production out of Canada into countries like China with lower environmental standards and dirtier sources of Energy. In fact, the number of power plants, the number of generating state stations that make electricity, that use coal to do so, type has skyrocketed in China over the last few years. And here's the thing about CO2, a molecule fuel of carbon dioxide does not need a passport to travel around the world and it doesn't matter to the planet it doesn't matter to glaciers size. It doesn't matter to the polar ice caps if a molecule of c02 comes out of a plant in Canada, but it does matter if, instead of 1 molecule pool coming out of a plant in Canada, 7 molecules come out of a plant that does matter to the planet, and that's why the people who are most concerned about climate change should be the most opposed to the Carbon Tax. Don't forget, the Carbon Tax is not allowing Canada to hit its greenhouse gas emissions targets. Test it may be successful in driving jobs and production out of our country but it's not actually working when it comes to hitting the targets that the government has set for itself and And now, myth number 4. Trudeau would like you to believe that somehow his Carbon Tax is revenue neutral. In other words, what he is pretending tax. Is that you will, impose this tax on everything you buy, and everything that needs to be transported. You're gonna pay a higher carbon tax on your heating bill, on your electrical bill. That money is going to go to Ottawa, it's going to get shuffled around in various government bureaucracies, and flow So different departments, and it's gonna get spat out on the other side, and somehow, you're gonna be kept whole. Well, first of all, if you were truly kept whole, then why Why they're doing it? What's the point of collecting it at the point of sale, washing it through all those public servants here in Ottawa, just to give it back to you? Wouldn't it be simpler They just left it in your pocket in the 1st place. Of course it will. Speaker 2: We will now hear suggestions for the, disbursement of the year $2,000,000. Speaker 0: Don't you mean $3,000,000? Time. Of Speaker 2: course. How silly of me Speaker 0: But it's not revenue neutral at all. Justin Trudeau's own parliamentary budget officer, the person he appointed tide. To track government spending and to report to parliament objectively has concluded through his rigorous analysis and research tax. The vast majority of Canadians are net losers under the carbon tax and it's precisely because Justin Trudeau underestimated the tax. Cascading effects of the carbon tax and when you start to increase the fuel bill for a trucker, well he has to pass that on tax and you have to pay that. So ultimately you're paying for the carbon tax not just in your own personal home and not just in your own personal car tax. But every single time you pay for a good or a service where somebody else had to pay the carbon tax. The vast majority of Canadian families will pay more in the carbon tax than anything thing they might hope to receive in a rebate that's why conservatives fight this tax so vigorously because it's not working because it just drives production and emissions to other countries and because it takes such a big bite out of your wallet and what's really frustrating is Watching the Coalition between the NDP and the Liberals. The costly Coalition that is driving up the cost of everything. You see, the NDP like to pretend that they're on the side of hardworking Canadians, but then they turn around and they support Justin Trudeau's plan to triple, triple, triple carbon tax even though they try to represent steel workers and energy workers even though they claim to speak tax. For struggling seniors or low income families when they get to Ottawa they rubber stamp Justin Trudeau's inflationary deficits and massive tax hikes. Test. That is the mind numbing of this coalition between the NDP and Liberals that they have the audacity to drive up the cost of essentials. We're talking about putting food on the table and keeping your house warm in the winter. We're not talking about luxuries here. We're talking about time. Day to day necessities that people need to do to live. Conservatives under Pierre Polyakov have a better way. A plan not to make traditional forms of energy more expensive, but to make new innovative forms of energy more affordable, lowering the cost of alternative energies under research and development and incentives rather than taxing things that you need to use today that's the way we're going to make meaningful reductions in Tower. Greenhouse Gas Emissions without driving jobs and opportunities to other countries.
