@Sec_Noem - Secretary Kristi Noem

Performing my role as Secretary of Homeland Security has shown me just how real and dangerous the deep state really is. @elonmusk helped us find that a few DHS staff had installed spying software on the phones and computers of myself and other political hires. We found secret, secure rooms with hidden files that we turned over to attorneys. Under the leadership of @POTUS Trump, @DHSgov is returning to the standard of excellence and behavior we expect our government agencies to function at. We will root out actors who do not have the interests of America in mind.

Speaker 0 recounts discovering a secret SCIF on campus, a secure facility with files nobody knew existed. An employee walked by a door, inquiries were made, the room was entered, and individuals were found working there with secret files on controversial topics. Those files have been turned over to attorneys and the speaker is pursuing what happened. The speaker notes that Customs and Border Protection (CBP) knows every traveler entering the country and every good that comes in, and they assess and collect tariffs. They highlight that information about travelers during COVID was with national labs under the speaker’s jurisdiction, and that scientists at those labs participated with the Wuhan lab. The speaker claims these scientists traveled back and forth between each other and worked on those experiments, describing this as eye-opening. Addressing Elon and his team, the speaker says they were extremely helpful since the speaker’s arrival in office, assisting in identifying a troubling issue: some of the speaker’s own department employees had downloaded software on the speaker’s phone and laptop to spy on them and record meetings. The speaker states that this had happened to several politicians and notes that bringing in technology experts helped reveal this software; without examining laptops and phones, the activity would still be ongoing. The speaker emphasizes a need to continue partnering with technology companies and experts to bring them in for assistance, as government work—especially within the department under the speaker’s jurisdiction—has been neglected and lagging behind what it should be. The speaker recalls that in the first four months, they couldn’t even email a PowerPoint from Department of Homeland Security servers if it was longer than six pages, illustrating what they view as backwards thinking that hindered national security. The speaker reflects on the concept of a deep state, admitting that they previously believed it existed but didn’t realize how severe it was. They describe daily efforts to uncover individuals who do not love America and who work within the Department and across the federal government. The overall message conveys uncovering secrecy, internal surveillance concerns, cross-agency connections involving CBP and national labs, collaboration with tech experts, and a strong critique of past departmental conduct and systemic protection failures.

Speaker 0: Believe what I found since I've been in this department. I just found the other day a whole room in in on this campus that was a secret SCIF, secure facility that had files nobody knew existed. So we just happened to have a an employee walk by a door and wonder what it was and started asking questions. We went in there. There was individuals working there that had secret files that nobody knew about on some of these most controversial topics like that, and now I've got that turned over to attorneys and we're getting to the bottom of what exactly happened there. You know, we have CBP, which is, you know, customs and border protection. They know every traveler that comes into this country, every good that comes in, they're the ones who assess and collect all of the tariffs, but the information that they had on travelers that came in during COVID, what our national labs which I also have national labs under my jurisdiction, their scientists that participated with that Wuhan lab. How they were traveling back and forth between each other and working on those experiments, it's been eye opening. And I'll tell you Patrick, even from the time I came into this office, it was you know Elon and his team were extremely helpful to me. They helped me identify that that some of my own employees in my department had downloaded software on my phone and my laptop to spy on me Stop it. To record our meetings. Wow. They had done that to several of the politicals. Wow. And so we ended up bringing in people, and and that was something that if you didn't have those technology experts here looking at all of our laptops and our phones and recognizing that kind of software, it would still be happening today. So one of the things I need to do and continue to do is partner with technology companies and experts to bring them them in and help us, because many times in government and especially in this department which was extremely neglected, we we were just behind and not up to the standard we should be at. I remember the first four months, I couldn't even send a PowerPoint over email from the Department of Homeland Security servers that was longer than six pages long. So the the the backwards thinking of protecting our country was extremely detrimental to keeping us safe, and many times the deep state I think what tell people most the time is I always believed when people talked about the deep state before that it existed. I never would have dreamed that it was as bad as it is. It is I'm still every day trying to dig out people who don't love America that not just work at this department but also work throughout the federal government.

Don Lemon and Greta discussed the response to a pastor who protected his parishioners, noting that the pastor’s actions were remarkable. Greta added that the parishioners felt intimidated, and there will be arrests in the next several hours connected to the incident, with people being brought to justice for how they violated the law in that situation. Greta then reflected on Don Lemon’s role, suggesting that when she first saw the coverage she assumed he was there as a journalist asking questions, but his later comment about white supremacy led her to wonder if he wasn’t there in a journalistic capacity. Don Lemon’s activities were described by Greta as involving prior surveillance before they entered the church, identifying individuals going in with him who were activists and the work they had done in the past. So as soon as he identified himself, you know, appropriate actions were taken. But I would say that, you know, I had a conversation with the senator after this. Speaker 0: Here with me now, just back from Guantanamo Bay, is Homeland Security Secretary, Christy Noem. Thank you for being here. It's nice Speaker 1: to Speaker 0: to see you in person. So you and the president have said repeatedly that the Speaker 1: worst of the worst will Speaker 0: be held at Guantanamo. There are a few dozen people there already. I I believe they're right now being held in cells formerly used to house terror suspects. So can you give more specifics about who's there right now, what crimes have they committed, and how long you're going to detain them? Speaker 1: So there are several planes, that have transported individuals to the base, and they are in the system and the facilities that, you know, a lot of our worst terrorist criminals have been incarcerated for many years. These individuals are the worst of the worst that we pulled off of our streets. Speaker 0: So Were they? Speaker 1: Murderers, rapists. So when I was there, I was able to watch one of the flights landing and then unload about 15 different of these criminals. Those were mainly child pedophiles, those that were out there trafficking children, trafficking drugs, and were pulled off of our streets and put at this facility. So I'm very thankful that they are off the streets of The United States and that we have safer communities. Speaker 0: And how long will they be there? Are they gonna be Speaker 1: They'll be there until we work with arrangements to take them back to their countries where they belong and have consequences out with them there. So, they will be treated much like, many other individuals in this country that are those dangerous criminals that don't belong here. Speaker 0: Do they have legal Speaker 1: they have due process. Everybody has due process, and every individual has the right for that. And my job is to make sure we're following the law in every single individual that we're bringing into custody and transporting back to their home country. Speaker 0: Since they're there now, they already gotten access to legal counsel? Speaker 1: Yeah. They followed all the same process they would with anybody else that has come in through these systems that any administration has done it. Every step is being followed and due diligence being done even with these individuals that are so dangerous. Speaker 0: You're building tents for a lot more than how many are there now? Speaker 1: Well, they're putting up tents that will have the capacity to go up to 30,000 people. That's not stood up yet because a lot of our soldiers, that's got there received orders just days ago. I think they've been putting up facilities for the last five days. So they've got a lot to do yet, but they have the capacity to start taking individuals. Speaker 0: So when I saw those tents, first thing and I saw the pictures of you in the tent, the cots. Right. First thing I thought is, how are the worst of the worst as you and the president describe it gonna be in those tents? How was that even safe? Speaker 1: Well, we're following all the same standards and procedures that we've always had with our detention centers, whether they're in The United States and now to be utilized here at Guantanamo Bay. So, those facilities, I think we need to be really transparent about and make sure that people know what they're like, and we're going to be encouraging people to continuously. I froze grant funding to NGOs where the grant touches immigration. The Biden administration spent hundreds of millions of dollars resettling illegal aliens in our country on American taxpayers dime. We will not give taxpayer dollars to NGOs who facilitate illegal immigration. https://t.co/Wg7bwiSl8j

Video Transcript AI Summary
We are halting all grant funding to NGOs that facilitate illegal immigration. Millions of taxpayer dollars have been misused to support this issue, and we are reevaluating how these funds are spent to ensure they strengthen our country and enhance safety. Many NGOs operate not only in the U.S. but also in Mexico, encouraging illegal immigrants to cross the border. Initially, I viewed NGOs as charitable organizations, but I've come to see that some function as shadow governments, using taxpayer money for actions the federal government cannot legally undertake. This has compromised our national security, and we will no longer support these operations with federal funding.
Full Transcript
Speaker 0: Today, we are announcing that we have stopped all grant funding that's being abused by NGOs to facilitate illegal immigration into this country. So it's amazing to me the 100 of 1,000,000 of dollars that have been spent by the federal government, that has been sent to NGOs to facilitate this invasion of our country. So, I've taken action to stop that those funds, to reevaluate them, and to make sure, that we're actually using the taxpayer dollars in a way that strengthens this country, that keeps us safe. So I think people are curious when we look at grants that are given out by federal agencies at how they're utilized, and, that evaluation needs to be done. We're not spending another dime, to help the destruction of this country. We're gonna make sure that we follow through on what president Trump has promised, and that's to make sure that we're securing our border, departing those who are here illegally, and, committing criminal actions and that our taxpayer dollars aren't spending aren't spent to help it. Speaker 1: And madam secretary, I don't think people fully understand the role that NGOs play many NGOs play in facilitating illegal immigration. I just wanna 2024 for sheltering and service programs for for illegal immigrant illegal immigrants. But the the the vast network of NGOs that help facilitate it through Panama, through Mexico, and make it a landing spot here in the United States is a massive contributor here to illegal immigration. So what you're telling us today is that now stops? At least the federal funding of that stops? Speaker 0: Mhmm. Yes. So the Department of Homeland Security, we have stopped spending those dollars to fund those NGOs. And well, what's been, so revealing is that many of these NGOs actually have infrastructure and operations set up in Mexico. On the on that side of the border that are telling those illegal immigrants to come to them and they will get them across the border. So they're not just operating in the United States. They're operating outside of the United States to help make it easier for those who want to break our laws. And and while I was one of those Americans that years ago, when somebody said NGO to me, I thought, oh, that's amazing. That's a nonprofit that's out there telling somebody about Jesus or spreading faith and salvation or doing good work and charitable work, helping people that are less fortunate. And then I realized over the years, it's been perverted into this shadow government. An NGO is sometimes an operation that does things that the government cannot do, can't legally do. So they create an entity to use government dollars, taxpayer dollars, to do something that the federal government isn't allowed to do, to Right. To do a shadow government operation that really has been used recently to undermine our country's national security.

Speaker 0: In the Department of Homeland Security, secretary Mayorkas put in place an 18 month extension of the temporary protective status. I rolled that back. I rolled it back to the 6 months, that it always has been and he really put that in place to tie my hands, my ability to to to keep integrity into this program. So this program has been in place for years. We're gonna make sure that's used properly, and that's the president's heart and desire as well. So when the president gives a directive, the Department of Homeland Security will follow it, and we're gonna make sure that those who come in under a program, under a visa, and are here in this country, that they're following the rules of that program. That's been abused over the years and it needs to be fixed. So those folks who are in violation of these programs, they need to recognize that they're accountable to that. They agreed to follow the rules when they came and that they need to be held accountable when they don't follow them.
