I spent many years in Canadian media and I knew it was corrupt but these new levels of corruption are well beyond anything I ever thought. I wish I could put my finger on just one thing about all this but that’s impossible as it’s a combination of things. 1) Incompetence and subversion: During my final years on radio I was the morning host at Winnipeg’s @680CJOB The manager was brought over from the TV side of the operation and knew nothing about radio. He was a camera operator who graduated through the ranks , how I have no idea but there he was trying to coach me somehow. I went along with it for a time but then a few months in he said something I will never forget. “Shadoe your right wing views are becoming a big problem.” “Excuse me?” I said. Then he mumbled something I couldn’t quite make out and a few seconds later we were interrupted by a knock on the office door. At the time my “right wing views” consisted of wanting a balanced government budget and finding the trans movement ridiculous. I asked him about it a week later and he tried to gaslight denying he would ever say such a thing. He did say it. I’ve since wondered how much that played in what was to come. 2) The New Breed: I had a morning show producer, a young woman relatively new to the industry. She was put in charge of the content of my show as I could not be trusted even though that was never said out loud. It was intimated I should be happy to have the help. I liked her and we got along rather well but one morning we were having a lively discussion about racism in which she said, “Shadoe you cannot be racist against white people.” I was discussing the hiring practices of governments at all levels and wondered why there were so few “white people” in front line jobs. I said “of course you can, racism is racism.” She was shocked speechless by that and walked away. Things were never quite the same after that. I didn’t understand it then in 2017 but she’d been indoctrinated into CRT, probably in journalism school. From there I noticed that every younger member of the newsroom carried the same attitude & looked down upon those who disagreed. 3)Workplace sensitivity training & bullying: During my last few months there, once a week the company brought somebody in to discuss “feelings, racism, sexism, bullying and safe spaces” with the staff usually via zoom. I attended the first one for 15 minutes then got up and left. I could not be a part of the complete crap they were dishing and said as much to the manager during a meeting the next day. He told me I was setting a poor example for the rest of the staff considering my influential position. My response was, “I am setting a tremendous example to the staff by not attending.” It was not mandatory, at least not while I was there, but it was heavily pushed to the point that if you didn’t take part you would be ostracized in the hallways out of fear or righteousness depending on the person or group. After that the pressure on me from management mounted. It was clearly a constructive dismissal in play & the only thing to do, especially with my mental state at the time, was to go to my Dr. and have him authorize stress leave which I took. I returned a month later and was fired 3 months after that. At the time I was relieved and devastated at the same time but now looking back it’s all very clear. Play the game or your career is over. The game these days is to obscure facts that don’t align with a clearly Marxist narrative and to insinuate anybody that doesn’t go along is “anti” this or “denier” that. And guess what? 99% of the corporate “journalists” are playing. I’ve never seen a corporate directive to implement these types of policies as mandatory because legally they can’t, however I believe it is intentionally pervasive and comes right from the top. They start with one key staff member then watch it spread. It’s insidious and in my opinion that’s how the media has been compromised. Feel free to repost.
