A manhunt unfolded in my neighborhood today, with a significant police presence. Canine units scoured the area, and a helicopter circled above. The situation unfolded near three schools, causing confusion among parents and students. After a long wait, the school finally communicated that students should remain indoors. The delay in notification raises concerns about the effectiveness of the school and police systems.

So there was a manhunt in my neighborhood today. Huge police presence all day, canine units out everywhere, helicopter circling the community looking for someone. All this happening with 3 schools in the area, two elementary and one high-school. No one was told if the students were going outside for recess, in lockdown or what was happening.  I called the OPP after the school didn't answer my call trying to find out something regarding the schools. OPP transferred me to dispatch stating "I'm not sure what info I'm allowed to share so I'll transfer you" I was on hold with OPP dispatch for over 15 minutes before I got ahold of one of the teachers I know personally who said they were aware and notified to keep the kids inside. I then asked why weren't parents notified. She said "hold and secures that come from police and are not the school decision does not get communicated out by the school" 15 minutes later the school finally sent out communication, most likely because of the massive amount of parents who were calling to find out. This situation started before 9am this morning and this communication was finally sent out at 12:45pm What kind of half ass broken system are these schools and police forces running here FFS
