Robert Martin, a passionate advocate for Palestinian human rights, shares his personal journey of discovering the truth about the Palestinian plight. Despite not having any direct connection to the region, he became curious after media portrayals of Palestinians as terrorists and Israel as always defending itself didn't add up. After extensive research and visiting Palestine, he was shocked by what he witnessed. He highlights the presence of refugee camps within Palestine itself, emphasizing the injustice of Palestinians being unable to access Jerusalem, even for education. Martin expresses his heartbreak over the conditions he saw in the camps, where the IDF frequently conducts early morning operations.

Speaker 0: Hello. My name is Robert Martin, and I'm pretty passionate about human rights and especially those in Palestine, the Palestinian human rights. And before I actually get started, I should make everyone aware that there's nothing significant that brought me to the Palestinian plight. I'm not Jewish. I'm a Palestinian. I'm not Arab. I'm not Muslim. I'm an atheist who started seeing things that just didn't add up. I started seeing things in the media in the paper always saying that Palestinians were terrorists and also that Israel was always defending itself. And then the last Gaza strike a number of years ago, I started to really read. I read about what was happening and I reached out to a lot of people in Palestine. People then used to say you've got no idea. You've never been. You've never seen. So I actually went over a number of years ago and was shocked with what I saw. Absolutely shocked. It came back a different person and vowed to help the Palestinian cause for the rest of my life. I went over again only a few months ago and I thought I knew a lot of it but I was shocked. I was absolutely shocked at what I saw. A number of things that I witnessed, I went to a few refugee camps. Now the fact that there's refugee camps within Palestine in their own country should alarm Anybody that has any idea or no idea of what's going on because it's not right. I spent time in Adah refugee camp. Adah refugee camp is in Bethlehem, not far from Jerusalem. None of those people can actually go to Jerusalem. They're not allowed to. Their ID cards don't allow them to go. One particular gentleman I spoke to had a scholarship to go to Jerusalem University. The fact was that He didn't have an idea to get in there, so he snuck in. The university said, how did you get here? He told them the truth. So automatically, they actually said you can't come, And he can't study in that side of town again. I spoke to so many children in the refugee camps And I was heartbroken heartbroken with what I saw and what I heard. These refugee camps aren't very big. Four out of 7 nights, the IDF will come through Round about 6 AM for this particular camp, 6 AM in the morning.

Speaker 0: I'm in Hebron, and I've just been told about a wall. So this gate locks about 40 Palestinian families in it. It actually locks, at certain times where they can't come out. And this actual side of the road that I'm walking on, Palestinians can't come. There's actually a bus stop over behind me. And the Palestinians don't allow to take it. I can take it. The Palestinians can't take it. That's complete racism times. And if I walk over here at the bus stop, you'll see. Time. How you doing? You can see the heavily guarded stuff for the Palestinians. So I wonder who's protecting who. They all seem so worried about the Palestinians. There's nothing to worry about. That's disgusting. It's terrible. Do you like the racism? A lake resort? Speaker 1: Yeah. What do you think about the Palestinians not being able to walk along here? Speaker 0: I don't know. I don't really know much about it. It's because you don't think about other people? Or Of course they do. And then how can you not think when I can't walk here and I can't get the bus? Uh-huh. I can't get the bus. I can't do anything. What do you think? Times. Okay? You're not. You don't have to read off. They're living here, man. Speaker 1: They're not allowed over here. They're Speaker 0: time. American dollars playing it, though. Fantastic. Hey. Can I ask you what you think of the racism here? What do you think? Time. What do Speaker 1: you think about the Palestinians not being able to walk here? Speaker 0: Don't care? What? You don't care so? I don't care. I understand this. See the you see the arrogance about it. Very arrogant that they're racist right to the heart. It's disgusting. You should be really ashamed of yourself. And what you're doing, occupying someone else's land? It's all land. Okay. You tell us. I wanna know. Can I see some land? It's yours? It's written in the bible and is, written in the bible in very many places. So he says that it's racist and Palestinians shouldn't be able to walk here? They live here fast In the whole Middle East. Then why I tell what why can't I walk across? Tell me why they can't walk across. Tell me why they shot Jews on every Please, here. Who shot 28 Palestinians here? Tell me. Yeah. They killed another who is here? Times. Who? Who killed the 28? Defending yourself. No. You know, just so you know, fuck the Palestinians. Wake up, world.

This is my first time here and I can't believe what I'm seeing. The house of a lady who was peacefully protesting has been set on fire. She was just sitting inside her house, minding her own business. This is where she lives, and they've already taken away all her other land. Now they're blaming the Palestinians for this. The Israeli army is not helping either, as they have limited resources to put out the fire. They want to keep the Palestinians restless, sleepless, and joyless. Some soldiers even come with face paint, as if they're going to war.

Her only crime's to Sit in her house in peace, this is where she lives. They've taken all the other land away from her, and now they're burning her house. And what will happen then?
