Speaker 0: The island of Maui has been completely lost to the apocalypse as residents are literally throwing themselves into the ocean to escape the burning hellscape. The coast guard is doing their best to rescue the people literally throwing themselves in the ocean because the island they live on is on fire. They're asking all boat owners in the area to distant rescuing people. The limited hospital facilities still remaining functional on the island are overburdened with burn patients and people suffering from inhalation. At the same time that the once idyllic tourist destination is on fire, it's also being hit by hurricane Dora, which has cut off 911 services and communications on the island as well as fueling the inferno. 911 is down. Cell service is down. Phone service is down. Why, lieutenant governor said, can you just imagine you live here? All of the land that you grew up on is just on fire in the middle of a hurricane, and you have to throw yourself off a cliff into the ocean just to stand a chance at surviving. You got 3rd degree burns on one hand. You got shark bite on the other. Remember a few years back where they had that fake accidental nukes are coming alarm in Hawaii and everybody was, like, freaking out and, like, hugging their kids goodbye and, like, crawling down into the sewers? Now when they come out of the sewers, they expected it to be like what's happening right now.
