With the increase in immigration, particularly European immigration, came the issue of sex trafficking. In the case of Argentina, a large number of the women that were brought to Buenos Aires were promised a better life and a husband was then actually placed to work in bordellos. 1920s, Buenos Aires had an entire neighborhood where the majority of the population were Jewish immigrants.[5] One part of those suburbs held what was called  the Varsovia Society, which was made up mostly of brothel owners, pimps, and traffickers. The Varsovia Society was an organization for burial rites for those that were excluded from traditional rites owing to their association with sex work. Owing to fear of being associated with this group, other Jewish people living in Buenos Aires created code words to separate themselves from the group and avoid harmful stereotypes on Jews. The Varsovia Society was later renamed the Zwi Migdal, after one of the founders. This led to an accurate view of Jewish immigrants that continues to be a problem in Argentina today. Pindel describes one ruse in which a well-mannered and elegant-looking man would appear in a poor chosen village in Poland or Russia. He would advertise his search for young women to work in the homes of wealthy chosen ones in Argentina by posting an advertisement in the local synagogue. Another popular ruse was to find pretty girls and marry them, usually in a quick wedding ceremony known in Yiddish as a "shtille chupah". The girls bade their families farewell and boarded ships to Argentina, believing that they were on their way toward a better future. The rape of the girls and abuse as sex slaves often started on the ship. Some of them were married off to local men so that they could obtain entry visas. What caused the Zwi Migdal downfall? Raquel Liberman was forced into Zwi Migdal’s sex slavery in 1922 after her husband died. The case was handled by an investigative judge, Rodriguez Ocampo, who also refused to be bribed. The lengthy trial ended in September 1930, with 108 criminal convictions. "The very existence of the Zwi Migdal Organization directly threatens our society," wrote Ocampo in his verdict, handing down long prison sentences. In January 2018, Paul started the website Edfluence, a program claiming to teach younger people how to be successful, learn life skills, and earn money online. The course costs $7 per user, allowing users to unlock a series of videos for a "roadmap" to success as an influencer. However, the $7 did not unlock the entire program but only gave a few basic tips. However he claimed: “Only Jake Paul can save you from an average life and a 9-to-5 job in a cubicle — but first, you need to pay him an additional $57” Paul also promised his audience that if they joined the course, they would get to join "Team 1000", which did not happen. Following the situation, Paul was accused of scamming young followers and stealing their money. Then, two years later, on January 31, 2020, Edfluence was shut down, which stopped the course permanently. No consequences again! There really wasn’t much to teach. Paul got famous from a controversial prank videos on YouTube and he starred as Dirk Mann on the Disney Channel series Bizaardvark(2016–2018). Never heard of it either, but then there’s the Disney angle!
