The discussion centers on the concept of "burrowing in," where political appointees from one administration secure non-political roles in government. Several individuals are highlighted, including Lucian Sikorskyj, Samantha Goldstein, Andrea Delgado-Fink, Sarah Scheinman, Jeff Baran, Tina Thomas, and Jeff Rezmovic, who have transitioned from Biden's administration to positions under Trump. The conversation raises concerns about their potential influence and alignment with previous policies, suggesting a possible deep state threat within the Trump administration.

🚨THE BIDEN BURROWERS How does Adam Schiff's Russiagate advisor end up in the Trump admin? How does the woman who helped Kamala Harris demonize Kavanaugh end up in the Trump DOD? My investigative series exposes a potential deep state threat in the second Trump admin. 🧵1/10

Video Transcript AI Summary
The piece discusses 'burrowing'—the process by which political appointees enter the permanent bureaucracy. It cites cases: individuals connected to Kamala Harris, Adam Schiff, and Eric Holder ending up in Defense, FAA, and DOJ under Trump. Presidents appoint more than 3,000 political appointees, while the federal government employs roughly 2,300,000 in nonpolitical career roles. The series argues these burrowers may form part of a deep state and raises questions about their influence as the Trump administration seeks more accountability by reforming civil service protections. An RMG poll found that 75% of Washington DC based federal employees making $75 or more per year and who voted for Harris in November say they will not follow a lawful Trump order if they consider it bad policy. The project concludes that the series supports a goal to make permanent Washington more accountable to the people.

Speaker 0: How does a woman who helped Kamala Harris smear Brett Kavanaugh and wrote that president Trump is unfit to hold public office, nonetheless, end up in the defense department under Trump? How does a former FBI analyst who worked with Adam Schiff on Russiagate end up in the Federal Aviation Administration under Trump? How does a former Biden campaign lawyer end up in the justice department under Trump? How does a protege of Eric Holder, a man notorious for racializing and weaponizing the DOJ under Obama, end up in the justice department under Trump? Presidents appoint more than 3,000 people for political positions, but the federal government directly employs roughly 2,300,000, most of them for purportedly nonpolitical career roles. Many of those political appointees later transitioned to career roles in a process known as burrowing in. President Biden named these people as political appointees, but they burrowed in joining the permanent bureaucracy. My series highlights these burrowers and raises important questions about them. These people may or may not be part of a deep state effort to oppose Trump from within. An RMG research poll found that 75% of Washington DC based federal employees making $75 or more per year and who voted for Harris in November say they will not follow a lawful Trump order if they consider it bad policy. This is exactly the kind of deep state bureaucratic attitude that drove outright opposition to Trump during his first term, and it stands to reason that it will rear its ugly head again in his second. My series highlights the boroughs who might form part of this deep state, alerting the Trump administration to their presence. Current civil service protections make them difficult to fire, and the administration is working to change those rules in order to make the executive branch more accountable to the people's elected president. This series supports that overall goal to make permanent Washington more accountable to the people.

The phenomenon is called "burrowing in." Presidents appoint 3K people to political positions, but there are 3M+ supposedly non-political career roles in the government. Biden's appointees moved into these career roles, and many remain under Trump. Who are they?🤔 🧵2/10

Speaker 2 explains "Burrowing is a term of art" and that, at the end of every administration, people who like the gig "convert from being schedule c or a schedule a that's been hired under a political authority to a career service GS protected, and that's called burrowing." "It's not supposed to happen. It happens in democratic administrations like crazy." Speaker 0: I wrote a book, The Woketopus, The Dark Money Cabal, Manipulating the Federal Government, because a lot Speaker 1: of these left wing activist groups that are funded by George Soros and his network of funders are pushing their ideology through the administrative state, and the right doesn't do that. We we don't believe in that. Yeah. Speaker 2: Burrowing is a term of art. And at the end of every administration, those who like the gig, you know, thirty five hour work weeks and remote work forever and FEHB and all these wonderful Speaker 1: Not anymore. Speaker 2: Not anymore. We hope. They convert from being schedule c or a schedule a that's been hired under a political authority to a career service GS protected, and that's called burrowing. It's not supposed to happen. It happens in democratic administrations like crazy. Like, day one, they get there, they start to burrow. And from their positions, they don't have to do anything to frustrate an agenda. They don't have to just do something. So so much of of the failure to reform the federal government is the inertia of people who are not interested in changing their routine. So some of it is deeply ideological. If you find me people who came in as sub as schedule c or reserved SES for the political side as opposed to career SES, if they've converted, those people are not legit. You know, you're not you're supposed to come in. I did my six years. I never wanted to go back. Lots of democrats live to be in the government, and, lots of Republicans live to do away with the government. And they do their time, and they're proud of their time. I'm proud to have worked for president Reagan, but I don't wanna go back.

First, let's mention Lucian Sikorskyj, a former advisor to Adam Schiff's House Intelligence Committee during Russiagate. Now, he's at the FAA under Trump. To say this raises questions would be an understatement. 🧵3/10

I’ve been following the controversy surrounding the FBI's memo on "radical traditional Catholics," which was influenced by the SPLC. Thanks to Chuck Grassley, we learned that this memo reached over 1,000 FBI employees before being rescinded. The FBI even found additional documents referencing the term. The SPLC has boasted about its role in advising the Biden administration on domestic terrorism, often labeling mainstream conservative and Christian groups as "hate groups." My upcoming book will delve deeper into the connections between these organizations and the federal government.

“I’m determined to get to the bottom of the Richmond memo, and of the FBI’s contempt for oversight in the last administration,” Grassley wrote to @FBIDirectorKash. He uncovered documents showing that at least 1,000 FBI employees received the memo before it was rescinded. 🧵2/6

It gets worse, however. The FBI did a search of its documents, and found thirteen documents and five attachments including the term "radical traditional Catholic."😲 🧵3/6

This accords with the SPLC's bragging that the Biden admin brought them in to advise on its "domestic terrorism strategy." The SPLC routinely brands mainstream conservative, Christian, and even LGB organizations "hate groups" for dissenting from its woke ideology. 🧵4/6

The SPLC's "hate map" allegedly inspired an act of terror in 2012, and former staff claim the hate accusations are a profitable scam. Speaker 0: Imagine that an organization that brands conservatives and Christians haters and puts them on a map with chapters of the Ku Klux Klan works with the federal government advising the administration on its domestic terror strategy. This Orwellian nightmare isn't a hypothetical. It actually happened under the Biden administration. Speaker 1: And I can tell you that we've had many agencies in the new Biden administration reaching out to solicit our expertise and our knowledge and information to help shape the policies that the new administration is adopting to counter the domestic terrorism threat. Speaker 0: That's Margaret Huang, president of the Southern Poverty Law Center, an organization that has long been notorious for exaggerating hate to raise money and for branding its ideological opponents hate groups on par with the Klan. As I explain in my book, Making The Corruption of the Southern Poverty Law Center, the SPLC gained its reputation by suing Klan groups into bankruptcy, but then took the program it used for that purpose and weaponized it against conservatives, partially to raise money through fear mongering and partially to silence those who oppose its far left agenda. This hate map inspired an act of terror in 2012 and former staff have come forward claiming that the hate accusations are a highly profitable scam. Even so, companies like Amazon and Eventbrite have used the hate map to exclude conservatives. The SPLC map includes nonprofits like Alliance Defending Freedom, the Family Research Council, Moms for Liberty, the Center for Immigration Studies, conservative groups that win Supreme Court cases and helped advise former president Trump. These groups are nothing like the Klan, and even liberals like former ACLU president Nadine Straussin said as much. As extreme as the SPLC is and has worrisome ties to the Biden administration that suggest Huang was telling the truth, the White House has hosted meetings with SPLC leaders and staff at least 11 times, and Biden nominated an SPLC attorney to a top federal judgeship. The Biden administration has used the SPLC to target radical traditional Catholics. And last year, the SPLC added parental rights groups like Moms for Liberty to the hate map. This echoes the Biden White House's work on a letter comparing concerned parents to domestic terrorists. Under Biden, Americans' own government sees law abiding conservatives as a domestic terror threat, and nothing makes that more clear than the president's ties to the Southern Poverty Law Center.

@Tyler2ONeil - Tyler O'Neil

As I noted in my book, "Making Hate Pay," the SPLC cited a quote from the Catechism of the Catholic Church as evidence that @RuthInstitute is a "hate group." If the SPLC were to be consistent, it would have to brand the whole Catholic Church a "hate group." 🧵5/6

The FBI allegedly identified traditional Catholics as a threat to America, claiming those who attend Latin mass are antisemitic and homophobic, based on information from the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC). The FBI reportedly retracted the document after a whistleblower published the report. The SPLC continues to list radical traditional Catholic hate groups on its hate map, alleging antisemitism is an inextricable part of their theology. The Ruth Institute, a Catholic organization, was branded an anti-LGBTQ+ hate group for restating the Catholic Church's position on sexuality. The speaker suggests that if quoting the catechism qualifies the Ruth Institute as a hate group, the entire Catholic Church should be considered one. The Biden administration has reportedly consulted with the SPLC on domestic terror threats, and the speaker questions why President Biden, who identifies as Catholic, relies on an anti-Catholic organization.
Full Transcript
Speaker 0: Last year, the FBI let us in on a secret. The real threat to America is traditional Catholics. Apparently, Catholics who attend the Latin mass are secret cabal of hate, full of antisemites and homophobes. This is according to the Southern Poverty Law Center? Oh, right. That's not a reliable source. And the FBI even admitted as much. When a brave whistleblower published the FBI's report on radical traditional Catholics, the bureau rushed to rescind the document. More than a year after the FBI publicly retracted the memo, the SPLC has kept radical traditional Catholic hate groups on its hate map. The twenty twenty three hate map released last week claims that for radical traditionalist Catholics, antisemitism is an inextricable part of their theology. The SPLC branded the Ruth Institute, a small Roman Catholic organization, an anti LGBTQ plus hate group. Why? The Ruth Institute's founder, Jennifer Roback Morse, restated the centuries old official position of the Catholic church on sexuality. If quoting the catechism is enough to make the Ruth Institute a hate group, then the entire Catholic church should be considered a hate group. The Biden administration has reached out to the SPLC for advice encountering the domestic terror threat. President Biden, who calls himself Catholic and goes to mass needs to explain why he's relying on an extremely anti Catholic organization.

@Tyler2ONeil - Tyler O'Neil

I looked into the claim that 200 Republicans support Kamala Harris and Tim Walz, and it seems misleading. Many on the list are former interns or apolitical staff, like those who flew Marine One for both Bush and Obama, which doesn't reflect a true GOP endorsement. For instance, Felice Gorordo, appointed by Obama, and Matthew Filter, who worked for Democratic mayors, don't represent a Republican shift. While some may genuinely oppose Trump, the list seems inflated with individuals who don't align with traditional GOP values.

@Tyler2ONeil - Tyler O'Neil

🚨Legacy media outlets are touting the 200 "Republicans" who signed an open letter backing Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.🤔 I was curious, so I teamed up with @TheElizMitchell and did a little digging. As it turns out, this list has three groups of "former Bush, McCain, and Romney staff" who arguably don't belong and may have been added just to pad the numbers: 1⃣INTERNS. Yes, people who interned for a presidential campaign or a Senate office are on this list as if they represent GOP politicos. 2⃣Apolitical staff. There's a guy who flew Marine One for George W. Bush (props) who also flew Marine One for *checks notes* Barack Obama. Not exactly a GOP politico, huh? 3⃣People who went on to work for Democrats in more political roles. If you want to publicly back Harris, fine. But this list doesn't represent some sort of groundswell among Republicans. https://dailysignal.com/2024/08/30/list-republicans-endorsing-kamala-harris/

About That List of Republicans Endorsing Kamala Harris There is more to the list of Republicans defecting to Harris than meets the eye, as interns and apolitical staff inflate the ranks. dailysignal.com

@Tyler2ONeil - Tyler O'Neil

1⃣Exhibit A of someone who does NOT belong on such a list: Felice Gorordo. Yes, Gorordo did work in the Bush administration. But in 2011, Barack Obama appointed him as a White House Fellow. Then, in 2018, he joined the Biden Cancer Initiative. He may be a fine guy, but he's not evidence of a GOP groundswell for Harris.

@Tyler2ONeil - Tyler O'Neil

2⃣I'd like to thank Daniel Connor for his service as a presidential helicopter pilot, naval attache, and special advisor to the Marine Corps. But a man who flew Marine One for Bush and then kept flying it for Barack Obama does not belong on this list—his important service to the country transcends politics, so he doesn't represent a GOP groundswell for Harris.

@Tyler2ONeil - Tyler O'Neil

3⃣Brooks Nelson, a former intern with USA Freedom Corps under George W. Bush, appears not to share his old boss's pro-life stance. He celebrated someone's new job at Planned Parenthood, saying she will "make a huge impact!"

@Tyler2ONeil - Tyler O'Neil

4⃣One final example. Matthew Filter appears on the list because he was a legislative assistant for Sen John McCain (2009-2011). But what did he do after that? Oh, he went to intern for then-NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg and then-Newark Mayor Cory Booker. Then he went on to work for multiple DEMOCRATIC mayors of Durham, NC. That's fine for him to work for these people, but please don't try to pass him off as some example of Republicans seeing the light in 2024.

@Tyler2ONeil - Tyler O'Neil

These people are free to endorse whomever they want, but the "200 Republicans" talking point seems artificially inflated. While some names on the list do represent conservative Republicans who are fed up with Trump, many names represent interns, apolitical staff, or people who were more than happy to work for Democrats and back liberal causes. https://www.dailysignal.com/2024/08/30/list-republicans-endorsing-kamala-harris/

RCID bought employees “Complimentary Tickets”🎟️ that worked for EVERY SINGLE DISNEY PARK except 1. Spouses got 1 similar ticket and staff got at least 3 transferable tickets, more if they had 4+ kids. Nothing like this is available on the open market & staff knew it. 2/16

@Tyler2ONeil - Tyler O'Neil

How much💰 did these cost? RCID paid only $725 for each complimentary ticket in 2019. A Magic Key pass that year cost $1,399 & only got you into 2 Disney CA parks. The second-highest pass ($1,219) got you into Florida's 4 parks. In 2021, RCID paid Disney $1.5M for 🎟️s. 3/16

@Tyler2ONeil - Tyler O'Neil

These are TAXPAYER funds💰 going to subsidize GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES' access to amusement parks🎢. To make matters worse, the cost went up over time. In 2013, RCID paid $714K for these tickets. By 2021, the cost had risen to $2.15M. 4/16

@Tyler2ONeil - Tyler O'Neil

RCID appears to have hidden😲 these payments on its tax forms. The forms appear in a section titled "Transactions with Principal Landowners" & are marked as "financial and other administrative services." 5/16

@Tyler2ONeil - Tyler O'Neil

RCID staff also got a 50% discount on Disney🐭 cruises🚢. They had to specially contact the cruise line for the discount. A cruise director explained that RCID didn’t appear on the list for online discounts “due to the sunshine state laws” of Florida.😲 6/16

@Tyler2ONeil - Tyler O'Neil

While the local gov't used TAXPAYER DOLLARS💰 to reimburse Disney🐭 for this benefit, gov't officials didn't know that. One RCID employee wrote, "please extend my appreciation to the [Disney] World Corporation for this benefit." 7/16

@Tyler2ONeil - Tyler O'Neil

RCID reimbursed Disney🐭 for other discounts: RCID staff got discounts at Disney merch stores, including stores not available to the general public. Taxpayers paid between $52K & $74K for this. RCID staff also got food discounts, costing taxpayers north of $20K annually. 8/16

@Tyler2ONeil - Tyler O'Neil

RCID staff also enjoyed lavish parties at Disney🐭 venues. Taxpayers footed the bill for a retirement party at Disney's Yacht Club Resort with cookies & cream mousse and a premium beer & wine package. It cost $14,842. 9/16

@Tyler2ONeil - Tyler O'Neil

When an RCID employee unexpectedly passed away in 2022, the local gov’t hosted a “Celebration of Life” party at Disney Coronado Springs resort. That party cost $33,600 10/16

@Tyler2ONeil - Tyler O'Neil

As the FL gov't report notes, these benefits "cultivated the view" that RCID employees were "a valued part of the Disney🐭 corporation." They called themselves the "Magic Behind the Magic." These employees even got "perners," a personnel number in Disney's tracking system. 11/16

@Tyler2ONeil - Tyler O'Neil

RCID employees—who, again, are government officials—sometimes said they were "very worried about being subject to the whims of Disney."🐭 When one staffer said that to his colleague, the colleague replied, "What else is new?"😲 12/16

@Tyler2ONeil - Tyler O'Neil

@GovRonDeSantis "RCID’s entanglement with Disney🐭 made it difficult for RCID employees to know where RCID responsibilities ended and Disney responsibilities began," Florida's report notes. Disney had "captured" the gov't agency tasked with overseeing it. 15/16

The FBI's memo urging agents to infiltrate Catholic churches to monitor radical traditional Catholics has been criticized as anti-Catholic bigotry. The memo cited the Southern Poverty Law Center's hate group accusations against some traditionalist Catholic groups. However, the FBI later rescinded the memo, stating that it did not meet their standards. CatholicVote President Brian Burch also criticized the Department of Justice's failure to prosecute crimes of vandalism, desecration, and domestic terrorism against Catholics.

"The pattern of abuse and misrepresentation by the Southern Poverty Law Center has been well-documented in ‘Making Hate Pay: The Corruption of the Southern Poverty Law Center,’ a book that should be more widely read to understand the danger they pose," Burch said.

“It’s not merely an FBI memo, it’s a pattern inside the Department of Justice that fails to prosecute crimes of vandalism, desecration, and domestic terrorism, combined with their hunting down peaceful pro-life protesters," Burch added, referring to Mark Houck's case.
