Why is hostile sexism on the rise? Why is Andrew Tate so popular? Some blame unemployment. Sure, that makes it worse, but it’s not new Has the rise of online dating meant that MOST men are constantly rejected & ghosted by women who see and pursue more desirable partners?

When it comes to online dating, men are typically less picky. So the average woman is showered with attention, flattering her ego. She’ll see the ‘best’ & pursue. Men who are perceived as ugly or boring will be rebuffed and ghosted. That would hurt anyone’s self-esteem

Online dating is a step change, for 3 reaons 1) Women can see an enormous pool of men and become more selective. Everyone heads for the super attractive guys. 2) Men get a LOT more rejection. 3) Conversation matters - unlike a date with alcohol. Men who don’t amuse get ghosted

RL dates aren’t so dependent on soft skills. Alcohol makes everything more fun. But online dating rewards chat. A 26 year old woman in New Haven shared with me that she finds online dating incredibly boring. The men aren’t fun, so she stops and disengages. They get ghosted.

We were hanging out and she showed me the app. One guy had up a seriously unorthodox choice of photo. I have no idea why he was shooting himself in the foot like this, but the net effect is that he will become incredibly aware that women find him repugnant.

Correct Online dating turns most men’s sex lives into famine. Constant female rejection may bruise men’s egos and may exacerbate perception of women as the enemy. So even if men earn more than women, and are materially better off, they still brim with resentment.

In person, there are other pleasures (food, sights, activities). Online dating is just pictures and conversation. I’m not saying men are more boring than women. I’m saying when women are bored, they reject men. That’s the crucial dynamic: men being rejected then feeling low.

To my replies, I am NOT saying online dating is a paradise for women. This is not about who does better or worse. I am merely trying to understand the drivers of MEN’s hostile sexism. Hence it’s appropriate to focus on male perceptions & experiences.

In my DMs, How much of misogyny is due to men being bored of vanilla porn then turning to violent and degrading pornography? I don’t rule that out. But male egos are very sensitive to female rejections. That’s when they are most likely to get violent.

America is suffering a crisis of loneliness, Question: what would happen if dating apps were restricted? 1) Men might just stay home, watch porn & get virtual girlfriends 2) If those apps were also regulated, groups of friends might start going out together, seeking mates?
