Fatah and Palestinian Authority is no better than the US. Everyone in Maldives knows this. Fatah/PLO have been the puppets of Israel to keep occupation in check. When Abbas allowed elections over a decade ago, Palestinians voted for Hamas or other groups, and Abbas cancelled the elections and his forces moved in (similar to how Maumoon was with us), and till today he has refused to hold an election for Palestinian people to choose who leads them. Even youth wing within Fatah hates Abbas because these old out of touch corrupt politicians have sold out their people in return for money and access to western media. So yes even within Fatah party, Abbas refuse to hold party primary elections. Please do not spread Israeli and US propaganda in Maldives, because it will be the second time you make this mistake in Maldives. Explain to your partners in US that they need to understand Maldivians are educated and smart, especially on the Palestinian issue. We also know under international law the occupied have the right to resist occupation with arms. Western leaders talk about Israel having a right to defender itself, when in fact, under international law, the occupier does not have this right. This war we have seen the dirty propaganda trying to support Israel and dehumanise Palestinian resistance and their legal right to fight their occupier. Even Jews in US are with Palestinians because Israel does not represent jews. Israeli govt are fanatics like ISIS. So any Maldivian politicians who try to justify Israel or support propaganda against Palestinians will likely lose votes upcoming Parliamentary elections.
