They say the man remains in police custody at this time. They are not, like I say, naming Andrew, but we know that it is him. This pertains to emails, we believe, that were published recently in the most recent Epstein files published by the Department of Justice, which seem to suggest they alleged that Andrew was forwarding emails to Jeffrey Epstein whilst he was trade envoy here in The UK. Now as a public official, that, is misconduct. That is what the police are alleging. That's the the charges that they presumably are bringing to him if they do indeed charge him. He is under arrest and remains in custody for that. We will wait and see what further details they are yet to give us. But, you know, as trade envoy, he he he spent more than ten years traveling around the world on behalf of the British government to kind of ferment relationships with other countries to better Britain's kind of economic outlook, if you like. That was seen as a member of the royal family could do this. You know, his status would provide Britain with that kind of heft on the world stage. But the emails from the Department of Justice suggest that when he was in these conversations in places like Singapore, Hong Kong, I've got a list here in front of me, other countries that he went to, he would then have these kind of confidential documents in these emails, and then it looks like he was forwarding them on to Jeffrey Epstein, another one here from Vietnam, another from China. So if you look at the date on some of these emails as well, that is what is interesting. One of them here in front of me from 2010. Of course, that's well after Jeffrey Epstein had already faced, charges for soliciting sex from a minor. So that is goes to the heart of this entire issue around Andrew and Epstein. The relationship that he had with that convicted, sex offender went far beyond the time which he said that he had broken all contact with him. People at home might remember the the disastrous interview he gave in 2019 to the BBC where he said that he had traveled to The United States to New York to sever his ties with Jeffrey Epstein, that he was there to basically explain to him that he no longer wanted to be in communication with him. These emails from the Department of Justice suggest that that was not true, that he basically lied about his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein in that interview. He has always denied, we should say, any wrongdoing when it comes to the allegations about sex trafficking. Virginia Dufres, of course, the individual who alleged that she was sex trafficked by Epstein for sex with Andrew, he has denied that strenuously. We haven't had comment from him, or the palace, on these these latest allegations about emails to Jeffrey Epstein and his position as trade envoy, but, one imagines that at some point today, Buckingham Palace will have to release some kind of statement. They are yet to comment, but we are in the extraordinary situation where the brother of the king has been arrested. To my mind, that has never happened in in the modern history of the royal family. Certainly, this has shaken this country, for it's been a long time coming. I think many people would look at this and say, Andrew may should have faced justice a long time ago. Many others will say, well, this is a shock today to find that, he's been arrested, in this way.

Now let me tell you his background. On April 3, Lawrence Cotton Powell was sentenced for a felony attempted robbery. My office asked for jail time. Judge McClain, a judge sitting in the criminal part in Superior Court with no criminal background, made a decision to give Cotton Powell probation in spite of his conviction on a felony attempted robbery. Within thirty one days, by May 4, Powell reoffends. He's rearrested while he's on probation from the felony, and he's charged with simple assault and possession of a prohibited weapon b. On May 4, my office asked that probation be revoked. But on May 16, that same judge McClain comes back and releases Cotton Powell and tells him, basically, be a good boy. On July 24, he is sentenced to one of the two misdemeanors that he's charged with. Again, my office asked for jail time after he victimized yet another person. So after a felony of attempted robbery conviction, after a violation of probation, after a second crime, after a second conviction, after no compliance with c Sosa, the judges say do better, and they let him go. And guess what? Within ten days, he's at it again with Ethan Levine and Edward Corstein. Now the codefendant in this case is is an individual by the name of Anthony Taylor. He charged also with the same arrest. He is from with the same crimes. He is from Maryland. He is 18 years old. We are unaware of any any history as it relates to him. We'd wanna make sure you had the complete obedience of everybody inside your borders who was authorized to use deadly force. You would start with the military and then federal law enforcement and move your way down ultimately to agencies like the IRS. Controlling the guns would be a top priority for you if you ever wanted to go dictatorial, if you wanted to be baby doc. But let's say you had deeper ambitions. Let's say you wanted the power not simply to control people's behavior, but to control how they think, not just their bodies, but their minds as a god would. In that case, you need to take charge of the society's taboos. A taboo is something that by popular consensus is not allowed. A taboo may not be illegal, but it doesn't need to be. Over time, social prohibitions are more powerful and more enduring than laws. Societies are defined by what they will not permit as are famously religions. Muslims don't eat pork, neither do Orthodox Jews. Traditional Christians oppose extramarital sex. The Amish avoid electricity and so on. American society isn't overtly religious, but it's governed by taboos and it always has been. What's interesting is how fast our taboos are changing. This is not happening organically. What we're allowed to dislike is being dictated to us from above, sometimes by force. Until fairly recently, for example, it was taboo in this country to attack people on the basis of their race. That was the main lesson of the second world war, we were told, again and again. The one thing we learned from the Nazis is that it's dangerous to reduce human beings to their genetic code. There is no master race. That made sense, but apparently we no longer believe it. Punishing people based on their skin color is not only permitted in modern America, it is mandatory throughout business and government and higher education as long as the victims are white. At one time, that would have been unimaginable. So the current behavior of our politicians. As recently as the nineteen ninety two presidential campaign, adultery was considered disqualifying for anyone seeking higher office. Bill Clinton was very nearly derailed in the New Hampshire primary by his affair with Jennifer Flowers. Clinton went to elaborate lengths to lie about the relationship because he had no choice. But he was the last presidential candidate who had to meet this standard. By 02/2008, it was obvious to anybody who was paying attention that Barack Obama had a strange and highly creepy personal life, yet nobody ever asked him about it. By that point, a leader's behavior within his own marriage, the core relationship of his life, have been declared irrelevant. It was Barack Obama's business, not yours. One by one with increasing speed, our old taboos have been struck down. Those that remain have lost their moral force. Stealing, flaunting your wealth, striking women, smoking marijuana on the street, shameless public hypocrisy, taking other people's money for not working. All of these things used to be considered unacceptable in America, not anymore. So it probably shouldn't surprise us that the greatest taboo of all is teetering on the edge of acceptability, child molestation. A generation ago, talking to someone else's children about sex was widely considered grounds for a thrashing. Touching them sexually was effectively a death penalty offense. When Jeffrey Dahmer was bludgeoned to death in the bathroom of a Wisconsin prison in 1994, the Milwaukee district attorney had to caution the public not to turn Dahmer's killer into a folk hero. Jeffrey Dahmer had molested and murdered children. People felt justified in celebrating his death. Twenty five years later, that standard had changed dramatically in the state of Wisconsin as in the rest of the country. Get out the park. In the 2020 during the BLM riots in Kenosha, 17 year old Kyle Rittenhouse defended his life from a convicted child molester called Joseph Rosenbaum. Rosenbaum was trying to kill Rittenhouse, so Rittenhouse shot him in self defense. But it was Joseph Rosenbaum whom the media cast as the victim of the story. Kyle Rittenhouse, meanwhile, an underage boy fending off violence from a child molester was denounced as the villain. Ultimately, was indicted for murder. One of the things that this tells us is the people who run our country no longer see child molesters as the worst among us. It's never been more obvious than it was yesterday when the Wall Street Journal ran a long expose about kiddie porn on Instagram. Instagram, the journal found, quote, helps connect and promote a vast network of accounts openly devoted to the commission and purchase of underage sex content. Instagram connects pedophiles and connects them to content sellers of child pornography. In one instance, the paper discovered that Instagram was recommending the phrase incest toddlers to users who'd expressed interest in similar material. By the way, no one at Instagram denied that any of this had happened nor did Mark Zuckerberg who controls the company. The journal story was accurate. It was all pretty shocking, but not as shocking as what happened next, which was effectively nothing at all. The largest circulation newspaper in The United States revealed that one of the world's most influential companies was promoting pedophilia, and nobody in power did anything about it. The justice department did not announce an investigation. Congress did not schedule hearings. The guy who runs Instagram, Adam Mosseri, still has his job. In fact, Mosseri's last tweet, which is pinned, is a video of himself bragging about how effective Instagram's algorithm is. Keep in mind as you watch this, it's real. Speaker 1: People often talk about the algorithm, but there is no one algorithm for Instagram. There are many algorithms and ranking processes we use to try to personalize the experience to make it as interesting as we can for each and every person who uses Instagram. We believe in this idea of personalization. What you're interested in and what I'm interested in is different, and so therefore your Instagram and my Instagram should be different. Keep in mind that January 6 happened more than two and a half years ago. Now you know why the feds were ignoring kid touchers on Instagram. They're too busy to respond. They've got much more important things to do, like finding white supremacists. White supremacists are America's new child molesters. We've got zero tolerance for white supremacists because no one threatens the life of this country more than they do. Here's Joe Biden once again making that very clear last month. Or is white supremacy something much more obviously bad, like trying to expel all non whites from America and creating some kind of ethnostate? If that's Joe Biden's definition, what exactly is the scope of this threat? How many people are currently working on this American white ethnostate project, and what are the chances they're gonna pull it off? Our guess is not very many and precisely zero. But we can't say for sure because no one has showed us the numbers. These are not rhetorical questions. When the president of The United States describes something as the worst possible crime Americans can commit, you have a right to know what that crime is. You used to have that right. Under our pre revolutionary legal code before George Floyd, questions like these were easy to answer. A crime was defined as something that an elected legislature had explicitly banned, usually an act that hurt somebody else. In America, crimes were described precisely with words in English and then preserved in books which you could read yourself. If you ever wondered whether you were committing a crime, you could just look it up. You could know for sure whether you were a criminal. Now you can't. And needless to say, that's the point. The point of the exercise is to keep you off balance, to keep you afraid. When no one's willing to define the offense, you can't be sure whether or not you're committing it. You could be accused at any time and everything you have taken from you. You live in fear. Remember this guy? Speaker 3: Emmanuel Cafferty was driving near a Black Lives Matter protest in Poway in his SDG and E truck when he says he noticed somebody following him and trying to get his attention. Later, that person posted a picture of him making what some believed is a white supremacy symbol on Twitter. Cafferty says he had no idea about any white power symbols and was just cracking his knuckles outside his window when the picture was taken of him. Later that day, he says he was notified by SDG and E that he would be suspended pending an investigation, and a few days later, he was fired. Speaker 0: What that man did was so offensive, as you just saw, that local news had to blur the photograph of his hand. He was fired from his job. His life was destroyed for cracking his knuckles. He didn't know cracking his knuckles was racist in his defense, but then nobody did until the day that poor Emmanuel Cafferty was unwise enough to crack them. When a crime has no definition, anyone can be guilty of it. It's hard to relax in a country like that. The old system was better. Government operated on the basis of laws, not amorphous moral terror. Politicians couldn't accuse you of something they couldn't define. The legal code was straightforward. Child molestation was a crime. Having unfashionable opinions was not. Outside of the public sphere, the population mostly governed itself as it does in every society and used taboos to do it. You knew what was allowed and what wasn't because the rules didn't change very often. The taboos were organic. They derived from collective experience and instinct, the two most reliable guides to life. They evolved for a reason. They still do. Our job at this point is to protect them despite the hectoring, the nonstop hectoring from the people in charge. You know the outlines of right and wrong. You're born knowing them. So don't let them talk you out of what you can smell. Don't let them rationalize away your intuitive moral sense. Cling to your taboos like your life depends on them because it does. What did people who only know him from radio or TV not appreciate about what a good guy was? And the main thing that I learned from him was how to disagree with people on topics that you take very seriously and that they take very seriously without hating them or without feeling bitterness. I mean, he it wasn't you know, people knew what was going on behind the scenes. You know, there was a lot going on behind the scenes, and it was intense. And it was bitter. And you know, because the divide, particularly in foreign policy questions, is very real in the Republican Party. Neo cons versus the realist or whoever you wanna describe it, he was on the realist side for sure. But he was mad at the people who disagreed with him. He liked them as people. He greeted them on some things. And he would always say that. You know, I agree in private, he would say that. And, you know, I was involved in it because people were mad at him for having me at his conferences or for talking to me. And so we had cause to talk about it a lot up until he was assassinated. And I was so struck with the whole I would say, you know, I would use the ugly language I'm famous for in private. And, he would never talk like that. He said, well, you know, I agree with him on this, but obviously, I'm on your side on that. And he just never forgot there was a person behind Yes. The views. And that inspired me. And God commands that of us. That is that's a real commandment, in my opinion. And he lived it. Speaker 0: That's exactly right, Tucker. You two, in many ways, grew up together. Your thoughts on on losing Charlie just not even a day ago. Speaker 1: Well, Martha, it's been, a really tough, twenty four hours, and, I lost a friend of mine since I was 16 years old. An incredible woman, lost her loving husband, two beautiful children, lost their father, and America lost the most impactful voice of our generation, someone who would never say this himself but was definitely going to be the president of The United States one day. The way he impacted my life and the lives of every single person in our movement, the lives of every single person in the president's family, it's, he's just incredible what his the the way he's touched us all. And we honor him today, and we honor him every day moving forward, and we will fight for him. And I was just with him four days ago in South Korea. It was his first first time, on a trip to Asia, and I hadn't seen him since inauguration. I walked into the green room, and he gave me a big hug. And he was telling everybody in the green room how proud of me he was because I'm getting married in January. And he kept saying that out of all the great successes that he's had in his life, marrying Erica and having their two beautiful children, was better than anything else. And he was, also making a joke about how we have the West Coast swing states covered because he married former miss, Arizona, and I'm marrying former miss Nevada. And, so that just showed a little bit of, his humor. But he's an incredible man, and, he's the nicest guy that I've ever met in my life. He would never hurt anyone. It breaks my heart that, it was him who got hurt. He all only wanted to have conversations with people. He only wanted to debate people. He didn't use violence. He didn't use violent rhetoric. He just spoke the truth. But we're up against a sick ideology in this country, Martha. It's a sick ideology that the president called out rightfully in his Oval Office address yesterday. The radical left for too long has been perpetrating this hate on innocent people like the president who got nearly shot twice and my friend Charlie who lost his life yesterday because of the rhetoric that comes from people like Adam Schiff. And these people don't even believe what they say, but they say it anyway because they wanna get television hits on MSNBC or CNN. And then there are people, they believe it, but they don't. The the the people who say it, they don't believe it because you see them in Washington then and they kiss your ass. They're the nicest people to your face. But they go on television and they spew this hate. It's sick. This is like a guy that and not a close friend, but this is someone that worked at OpenAI for a very long time. I spent I mean, I was really shaken by this tragedy. I spent a lot of time trying to, you know, read everything I could, as I'm sure you and others did too, about what happened. It looks like a suicide to me. Speaker 0: Why does it look like a suicide? Does it not look like one to you? Speaker 0: No. He was definitely murdered, I think. There were signs of a struggle, of course. The surveillance camera, the wires had been cut. He had just ordered takeout food, come back from a vacation with his friends on Catalina Island. No indication at all that he was suicidal. No note. And no behavior. He had just spoken to a family member on the phone, and then he's found dead with blood in multiple rooms. So that's impossible. Seems really obvious he was murdered. And I don't I mean, if a guy comes out and accuses your company of committing crimes, I have no idea if that's true or not, of course, and then is found killed and there are signs of a struggle, I I don't think it's worth dismissing it. I don't think we should say, well, he killed himself when there's no evidence that the guy was depressed at all. I think and if he was your friend, I would think he would wanna speak to his mom or Speaker 1: I did offer. She didn't want to. Speaker 0: So do you feel that you know, when people look at that and they're like, you know, it's possible that happened. Do you feel that that reflects the worries they have about what's happening here? Like, people Speaker 1: are afraid that this is like I've done too many interviews where I've been accused of like Oh, I'm Speaker 0: not accusing you at all. I'm just saying his his mother says that. I don't think a fair read of the evidence suggests suicide at all. I mean, I just don't see that at all. And I also don't understand why the authorities when there are signs of a struggle and blood in two rooms on a suicide. Like, how does that actually happen? But I think his memory and his family deserve to be treated with a level of respect and grief that I don't quite feel here? I'm asking at Speaker 0: the behest of his family. So I'm definitely showing them respect, and I'm not accusing you of any involvement in this at all. What I am saying is that the evidence does not suggest suicide, And for the authorities in your city to allide past that and ignore the evidence that any reasonable person would say adds up to a murder, I think it's very weird, and it shakes the faith that one has in our system's ability to respond to the facts. Like So, I'm not reaching I'm not Speaker 1: being crazy here. Well, but then after the second thing came out and the more detail, I was like, okay. Speaker 0: What changed your mind? Speaker 1: The second report on the way the bullet entered him and the sort of person who had, like, followed the the sort of likely path of things through the room? I I assume you looked at this too. Speaker 0: Yes. I did. Speaker 1: And what about that didn't change your mind? Speaker 0: It just didn't make any sense to me. Why would the security camera virus be cut? And how did he wind up bleeding in two rooms after shooting himself? And why was there a wig in the room that wasn't his? And has there ever been a suicide where there's no indication at all that the person was suicidal who just ordered takeout food? I mean, who who orders DoorDash and then shoots himself? I mean, maybe. I've covered a lot of crimes. As a police reporter, I've never heard of anything like that. So, no, it it I was even more confused. Speaker 1: I this is where it gets into, I think, a little bit painful, just not the level of respect I'd hope to show to someone with this kind of mental health. I get it. I totally get it. If you just do family suicide without notes a lot, Like, that happens. For sure. People definitely order food they like before they commit suicide. Like, this is this is an incredible tragedy, and and Speaker 0: I That's his family's view, and they think it was a murder, and that's why I'm asking the question. Speaker 1: If I were his family, I am sure I would want answers, and I'm sure I would not be satisfied with really any mean, there's nothing that would comfort me in that. You know? Right.
