So alternatif dia, "parallel pathway". Iaitu apply program khas dari luar negara, ada syllabus dia, ada kelas dia, ada exam dia. Lepas lulus, boleh apply untuk gazettement (attachment), then lepas gazettement boleh terus jadi pakar. Banyak pros dia : 2/🧵

Tak payah berebut seat terhad HLP. Boleh buat part time, seawal zaman HO pun dah boleh start. X ada limit, kalau fail boleh ulang ambik byk kali. Cons? Bayar sendiri ler. Bukan murah. Belas ke puluh ribu juga. Kalau yg HLP program tu, full time, in campus, govt bayarkan. 3/🧵

"Org" tertentu "dengki" sbb grad parallel pathway semakin ramai. Dulu (even skrg), ada stigma/doublestandard. "Ooo dia tu specialist MRCP jerr.." "Org" ni rasa, grad parallel tak up to standard. Sebab tak belajar in campus. Gazettment saja tak cukup. Pandai teori saja. 7/🧵

Tapi itulah. Disebabkan kebanyakan "org" tu skrg ni dah jadi dinosaur dalam KKM, ada pengaruh, so ada niat/effort untuk "batalkan je terus parallel pathway ni". Dia nak semua pakar mesti melalui inhouse training. Dia nak semua pakar dalam malaysia mesti macam dia. 9/🧵

This is detrimental for malaysia. Definitely. Kalau inhouse training ni cukup utk semua doc, fair, org boleh dpt specialty yg dia nk, xperlu pindah randah angkut family or letgo current placement/posting, xde hal je. Fun fact, masa study in campus HLP ni, doktor perempuan 10/🧵

Insecure sbb young doctors, lebih ramai yg prefer nak ambil parallel pathway berbanding masters program di local univ. Its better to mental health, more fair, more "life". Oh ya, i forgot to mention one HUGE thing. Parallel pathway, they are INTERNATIONALLY RECOGNIZED. 12/🧵

Sbb tu young doctors, prefer ambil parallel pathways. Sebab on the off chance kontrak diorg tak disambung, diorg boleh migrate anywhere dan continue their program. They can bergelar specialist dan enjoy hujan emas. Of course, these dinosaurs tak suka. Haha. Sekian, Ex-KKM

Its been more 5y since i left kkm. Sorry part info yg x tepat. Masa kerja di private hosp, ada lepak dgn specialist yg baru resign govt. The reason dia resign was because eventhough dia dah habis gazet dpt nsr apa semua, he was still treated as MO in his dept. Sbb "parallel".

Ada org mention yg xdibenarkan mengandung tu x betul. Oops sorry, my bad. Maklumlh, dah lama tinggal kkm. =P Katanya, boleh je bersalin. Tp xde maternity leave. 2w saja cuti, itu pun tolak AL. Do u think its acceptable? Globally org fight for better maternity leave, irony kn.

My batch, masa anesth yg first buat entrance exam utk masters program. Time tu medex pun xde lagi. Saya kt district hosp. Saya x apply, member yg apply. Nak sit for the exam, kena travel ke ibu negeri. Berapa jam travel. I remembered it vividly sbb lepas je exam, member saya tu

..mengeluh. sbb yg terpilih after the exam, semua dari tertiary hospital. candidate dari jabatan anesth sendiri, semua dapat, padahal younger dari dia. Ayat dia yg saya ingat, "aku rasa mcm bodoh je agree datang district, padahal x membantu pun cita2 aku (jadi pakar bius)."

Skrg dia dah dpt cita2 dia. Jadi pakar bius. Yes, parallel pathway. Yes, skrg tgh keje kat private. I'm happy for him. Orang tak hargai dia, tapi dia hargai diri dia sendiri dan choose a better place. Alhamdulillah.
