Roughly 1.2:1,a combatant killed for nearly every civilian. And it gets even more precise. Hamas itself admits that natural deaths are folded into its toll, around 8,500 deaths due to age, illness, or accidents. Adjusted for those, the ratio rises to 1.9:1. That’s nearly two combatants eliminated for every civilian, an unprecedented level of accuracy in modern warfare. For comparison, UN and Red Cross estimates show a global wartime average of 9 civilians per 1 combatant. So what, exactly, are you shrieking about, Piers? Are the numbers too big for you to handle? Or is your animus toward Israel so absolute that even statistical reality becomes a threat? And let’s dismantle your favorite fallback excuse: alleged ignorance about conditions on the ground. You repeatedly parrot the lie that Israel has banned foreign journalists, yet I’m not in Gaza, I’m not a journalist, and I’m still capable of accessing the facts you won’t. Here’s one: Israel follows standard wartime media procedures, just like the U.S., the U.K., NATO, and every modern army. No military, not even your own, tracks civilian casualties by age in real time.
