I was so disgusted by the Jan. 6 riot that I deleted my Twitter account. I wrote introspective pieces on wanting to be part of the solution. (And I never liked Trump, and I thought Biden beat him.) The Durham Report is 100x worse than Jan. 6. It didn’t reveal a handful of nuts getting out of hand & stealing a lectern. It revealed our highest law enforcement agency trying to undo an election on ZERO evidence. It didn’t disrupt a formal nomination proceeding for 3 hours. It disrupted a presidency for 3 years.

In 2022, the FL legislature took up the Parental Rights in Education bill. This bill (now law) was (and is) very popular. It prohibits *classroom instruction* on sexual orientation & “gender identity” for kids 3rd grade & younger. Hugely popular for good reason. 3x

The law recognizes fundamental right of parents to make decisions regarding upbringing & control of their children. FL legislators did the real work of democracy. One mom testified about how her kid was being indoctrinated with something called “the genderbread person.” 4x

Ron DeSantis recognized the power disparity, and he took offense to a CA corporation announcing its vow to bully the people of FL with money & power. RDS announced that if Disney wanted to wage political war against FL, then FL would respond. 12x

FL had given Disney an absurd sweetheart deal where Disney essentially ran its own nation within FL’s borders - the “corporate kingdom.” If Disney vowed to use its immense power to defy FL voters, then Disney could do without special gifts from the state. 13x

Of course, surrender monkeys like David French made dishonest comparisons to try to protect Disney from accountability. Holy cow, this one is a doozy. San Antonio tried to ban Chick-fil-A from its airport for the offense of…donating money to the Salvation Army & the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. (Seriously, that’s why the left is angry at Chick-fil-A.) French offered no real suggestions, however, as to how to protect FL kids from gender ideologues or to counter the power of a company like Disney. 14x

And so, returning to the present, Disney again tried to defy FL by cutting a secret deal to protect its interests in Reedy Creek. That deal is going to be blown up, and Disney will experience actual blowback from its vow to overturn protections for FL parents & children.

The left would have you believe that Disney should not have been opposed by, well, anyone with enough power to oppose it. But the left’s outcry is only because it’s chosen champion suffered defeat. They pushed Disney into the fight because they wanted to WIN. This isn’t about principle. It’s frustration that they finally lost a battle.
