Mainstream media stunned into silence after @PressSec reminds them that Barack Obama awarded a medal to Tom Homan. https://t.co/x31gP7osG3

Video Transcript AI Summary
This segment references a Washington Post headline from 2016 titled "Meet the man the White House has honored for deporting illegal immigrants." The speaker points out that former President Barack Hussein Obama awarded a medal to Mr. Homan, asserting that this fact demonstrates his qualifications and that he has the full trust and faith of the president. The speaker emphasizes that, based on this trust, Mr. Homan will continue to hold meetings with the aim of encouraging cooperation between a purportedly “weak” U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and local law enforcement. The stated goal of these meetings is to achieve successful immigration enforcement through collaboration, a model the speaker claims has been seen in almost every other state across the country. The underlying message ties Mr. Homan’s recognized credentials and presidential trust to a strategy of enhanced coordination between federal immigration authorities and local agencies to advance enforcement outcomes.

Speaker 0: This is a Washington Post headline from nine years ago, 2016. Meet the man the White House has honored for deporting illegal immigrants. And I would remind everyone in this room that it was former president Barack Hussein Obama who awarded a medal to mister Homan. So he's obviously very qualified. He has the full trust and faith of the president. He will continue to have these meetings in the hopes that a weak ICE and local law enforcement can cooperate and work together to have successful immigration enforcement as we've seen in almost every other state across the country.

I shared my thoughts on ABC's decision to pull Jimmy Kimmel from the air. I emphasized that broadcasters, unlike cable networks like Fox News and CNN, have a unique obligation to operate in the public interest due to their FCC licenses. I noted how President Trump challenged these legacy outlets, leading many affiliates to express their frustration. While there's still progress to be made, I'm pleased to see American broadcasters taking a stand to better serve their communities.

FCC Chairman Brendan Carr weighs in after ABC pulls Jimmy Kimmel off the airwaves "Broadcasters are different from any other form of communication, including here on cable right now. Fox News doesn’t have an FCC license, CNN doesn’t, but ABC, CBS, and NBC—those broadcast stations do. And with that license comes a unique obligation to operate in the public interest. President Trump ran directly at these legacy broadcast outlets and exposed them to market forces, and a lot of these affiliate groups said, ‘We are tired of carrying this stuff.’ There’s more work to do, but I’m very glad to see that American broadcasters are standing up to serve the interests of their communities."

We don't just have this progressive foie gras coming out from New York and Hollywood.

Speaker 0: Yeah. Broadcasters are different than any other form of communication, including here. We're on cable right now. Fox News doesn't have an FCC license. CNN doesn't. But ABC, CBS, NBC, those broadcast stations do. And with that license comes a unique obligation to operate in the public interest. And over the years, the FCC walked away from enforcing that public interest obligation. I don't think we're better off as a country for it. But look, president Trump ran directly at these legacy broadcast outlets, and he exposed them to these market forces. And a lot of these affiliate groups said, to your point, we're tired of carrying this stuff. Late night shows, something's gone seriously awry there. They went from going for applause from laugh lines to applause lines. They went from being court jesters that would make fun of everybody in power to being court clerics and enforcing a very narrow political ideology. And Nexstar, as you noted, stood up and said, look, we have the license, and we don't want to run this anymore. We don't think it serves the interest of our community. Sinclair did the same thing. So there's more work to go, but I'm very glad to see that America's broadcasters are standing up to serve the interest of their community. We don't just have this progressive foie gras coming out from New York and Hollywood.

Hillary Clinton in 2008: ‘If They’ve Committed a Crime Deport Them’ https://t.co/KOnT2sQ5T9

Video Transcript AI Summary
We need to establish strict conditions for immigration. Those who have committed crimes should be deported without exception. For law-abiding individuals, we should outline specific requirements for them to stay. These include paying a significant fine for their illegal entry, settling any back taxes owed, making an effort to learn English, and waiting their turn in the immigration process.

Speaker 0: So I think we gotta have tough conditions. Tell people to come out of the shadows. If they've committed a crime, deport them. No questions asked. They're gone. If they if they've been working and are law abiding, we should say, here are the conditions for you staying. You have to pay a stiff fine because you came here illegally. You have to pay back taxes. And you have to try to learn English. And you have to wait in line.
