My mother always told me not to let others define me. Don't carry the burden of others' limited views on what you can achieve. Sometimes people will help you, sometimes they won't. In those moments, you have to take charge and break down barriers to reach your goals.

Speaker 0: It is as Alicia said, my mother would say to me, don't you ever let anybody tell you who you are. You tell them who you are. Don't ever carry as a personal burden your capacity to do whatever you dream and aspire to do based on other people's limited ability to see who can do what. This is part of what's involved, is that we have to know that sometimes people will open the door for you and leave it open, sometimes they won't. And then you need to kick that fucking door down. Excuse my language.

We are watching a man who is fully emblazoned in the front of the court house today. We are watching multiple fires breaking out around his body and person. We have seen an arm that has been visible, that has been engulfed in total flames. There is chaos that is happening. People are wondering right now if people are in danger. I'm looking across the court across the courtyard. There is a man racing to his aid. There is codes coming off to try to put out the fire. We have members of security details. NYPD is rushing to the scene. They are trying to come out. Officers are on the scene. A fire extinguisher is right now present being put on this man to try to put out. People are climbing over barricades to try to separate the public to put out the claim on this man. He has lit himself out in fire in front of the courthouse right now. We are watching as they're playing. We can smell the air. I can smell the burning of some sort of a flesh. I can smell the burning of some sort of agent being used as well as an accelerant to put that fire. I smell an actual fire extinguisher having been displayed. I see a person whose body appears to be on the ground being surrounded by officers. I have multiple officers. I've come about a dozen officers on the scene. Burning. The fire is still burning. It's now in multiple locations. It continues to continue to blaze. We right now have officers removing their code trying to surround this person to adopt their body to prevent them from further going into flames. You can smell I'm singing with Evan Perez. You can smell burning flesh. You can smell and accelerate. The flames are continuing to engulf his person. I hear shouts that are coming from across the courtyard. I have people multiple times of the running over. Another fire was initially being brought out. This person's body continues to be engulfed in flames. A portion of his body is soaked, engulfed in flames. A yellow smoke is billowing from on top of his person as he's engulfing the officers who are continuing to try to put out these flames, but are continuing to blazon. Now the officers are not visible through the gulf and the quad the cloud of smoke.

“Every one of those sons of bitches who did that, we ought to find them, try them, and send them to jail.” — GOP strategist Karl Rove slams January 6 rioters and says Trump made a “critical” mistake by promising to pardon them https://t.co/zGgEj29F9D

Video Transcript AI Summary
If smart, focus on January 6th: Trump should not pardon Capitol attackers. They are thugs, not hostages. Trump's support for them is a mistake. We need leadership that stands for law and order, not violence. As a Republican, I want a Republican president, but we must choose wisely. Trump's association with the attackers is wrong. We should find, try, and jail those who attacked the Capitol. Let's trust the jury system and law enforcement to bring justice.

Speaker 0: If they were smart, they'd take the January 6th and go hard at it, and they would say, he wants to pardon these people who attacked our capital. I worked in that building as a young man. To me, the Congress of the United States is one of the great examples of the strength of our of our democracy and a jewel of the constitution. And what those people did when they violently attacked the capital in order to stop a constitutionally mandated meeting of the congress to accept the results of the electoral college is a stain on our history. And every one of those sons of who did that, we ought to find them, try them, and send them to jail. And and if and if and one of the critical mistakes made in this campaign is that Donald Trump has now said, I'm gonna pardon those people because they're hostages. No. They're not. They're thugs. There were people some of them had automatic weapons at a hotel in Virginia hoping to be able to be called up. We had people saying, where's Nancy Pelosi? We had people who were, you know, taking desks and sitting at the desk of speaker of the house and attempting to, you know, find people in order to bring them to justice and saying to the to the yelling at the police, kill them. Kill them all. And so why Trump has done this is beyond me. If he had said, you know what? I trust our jury system. I trust law enforcement. Anybody who assaulted the Capitol ought to be I mean, he said it once or twice, but now he's got he's appearing at a video with people who assaulted police officers with an intent to take the capital by force. So, you know, look. I'm a Republican. I don't wanna have a Democrat president. I wanna have a Republican president. But we are facing, as a country, a decision, and you know, everybody gets to make it as to what kind of leadership we're gonna have. And to me, it a mistake on the part of the Trump campaign to allow the president's impulses to identify himself with the people who assaulted the capital rather than people who stand for law and order.
