Speaker 0: I'm, alive alive from, the USS Liberty. I served on that ship in 1967 when it was attacked by the Israelis, supposedly by accident, and neutral waters off the Sinai Peninsula. 34 of my crewmen were killed and a 171 wounded. It's now 50 years later. I'm still alive, and it's Memorial Day.
And I always think about the men who died, and I still see some of the crewmen. We were attacked by, Mirage jets. They strafed us and dropped Bay Palm, and there was 4 torpedo boats, Israeli torpedo boats, circling us, and they fired 5 torpedoes total. 1 hit. They had a hole in the side of the ship, 50 feet by 30 feet roughly.
We had, for weapons on our ship, 50 caliber machine guns. 2 forward and 1, 2 midship. All the men in those those gun mounts were killed, and, the torpedo the torpedo hit in the communication spaces, and many men died wounded from there, supposedly by an accident. I don't believe it was an accident. Being intercept a lot of messages that Israel had sent and some that, were highly classified at time at the time.
And were furthered were were sent further to our government who in turn acted or didn't act on what we said. And, I know the Israelis, this is my opinion, planned the attack on us, and they know it too. And, I believe our government knows it too. Cities like Meriden have suffered from diseases like dengue, Zika, chikungunya for decades, but not anymore. We've been able to bring the solution of Wolbachia mosquitoes to this city. When this bacteria called Wolbachia gets introduced into the mosquito, it stops their ability to transmit dengue. We release mosquitoes that have Wolbachia. Now they go and mate, and Wolbachia gets passed into the wild mosquito population.
If we're going to control these diseases in all these tropical cities of the world, it's gonna require a lot of mosquitoes. The mosquito life cycle starts with the egg. And in this room, we've got a lot of eggs. Each one of these strips, these tiny black dots, are up to 10,000 mosquito eggs. Across all of these strips, about 1 and a half million dried eggs waiting to hatch.
In this tray, we've got the newly hatched eggs. They're little larvae, so small you can hardly see them. They're gonna sit in here for a few days and eat and get bigger until they look like these ones over here. They're starting to turn into pupae. We're wanting to do the next step of sorting, sorting the males from the females.

One that has gained my personal attention is Stratospheric Aerosol Injection or SAI.
