Speaker 0: Marhaba, hello. Do you read your homework? Do you find the sources of knowledge and information about what Israeli occupation army is doing in Gaza or are you relaying on the mainstream media and their very, very partial and sided covering of the situation? You should read the sources. 1 of my 2 of my most important sources are the almost daily flash updates from UN Orchard, OPT. And these are actually reports with all the numbers you need to make your own picture and understanding of the situation. And I urge you to read the basic numbers and the reports and not rely too much on mainstream media. Let's just have a look at the situation for students, pupils, teachers, universities in Gaza right now. Did you know that Israeli occupation army has bombed every one of the universities in Gaza? Maybe you didn't even know there are universities in Gaza. Me, I am a university teacher. I'm a professor. I teach regularly in Gaza. I've been doing that for many years. Al Asar University, Islamic University, brilliant institutions, high level academics, all of them have been bombed by the Israeli occupation forces without almost any protests from the Western universities, from the Western ministers of education and their governments. Listen to these numbers that I saw in the last report here. Actually, currently, there are 625,000 young Palestinians in Gaza without any education. They have killed 5,500 students. They have killed 261 teachers and professors and 80% of the UN schools, the public schools, are without any teaching function. So basically, what Israeli army has done is to eradicate the teaching, training, education system, and the research system in Gaza. They have systematically bombed archives, numbers, the health information system, all the sources of information and knowledge about the situation in Palestine. To do this is a known tactic when you are going to eradicate the people, as the colonialists are doing. It's called the epistemicide, the eradication of knowledge, of the knowledge of the indigenous people, of the Palestinian people, crush their universities and schools, crush their archives, their knowledge, their understanding, their history, their books, their culture, their music to get rid of the whole Palestinian people and their history. We should not, for one single second, accept this, and we should demand for our universities to boycott Israeli universities that take part in these eradication of Palestinian educational systems and their history. We should demand for our institutions that they stand up and defend the right to knowledge, the right to teaching, the right to have your own history. And that means simply to boycott Israel universities, who does not protest against the occupation and the destruction in Gaza. If you're a student or a university teacher, ask yourself, what can you do in your institution to support Palestine and Gaza? Shukran Jazila.

Speaker 0: I'm in Gaza and in Israel. For somebody who's never been to Israel before, how would you describe the culture there? So not just the government, not just what's coming from Likud and Netanyahu. How do people, every day, discuss and talk about Palestinians? Speaker 1: Yeah. I think that people need to ask themselves why you never see Western media or pro Israel media, putting microphones in front of Israelis' faces? Why is that? Why is it that we only see preapproved government spokespeople speaking to American and British audiences? That's because Israeli society is very, very fascist. Yes. We hear that, you know, there was socialist kibbutzes at the beginning, and I'm sure there was a lot of progressive enclaves over time in Israel. Well, a lot of leftists have been simply pushed out. To be a leftist is simply a slur, and it's in fact more dangerous than ever. You know, I spent a month in the West Bank. I interviewed hundreds of Palestinians. Not one person ever said anything remotely genocidal about Israelis. All of them just said, we just wanna live and coexist side by side. We just wanna live in peace. Why do they have to move on top of our villages? Why do they have to do this to us? Why did the bully, harass and intimidate us? Why can't they just coexist with us? I went to Jerusalem to a place called Tolerance Square for literally, like, 3 hours, and the racism and vitriolic genocidal incitement against Palestinians was palpable. I mean, all I did was just go around and do man on the streets. Like I do I do that everywhere I go. I just like to get a snapshot of where people's minds are at. And I literally just asked Israel. It wasn't even just Israelis. It was settlers. It was, just American citizens who were there just moving to Israel. Of course, we know a lot of people just up and move just like Netanyahu himself, who's from Philadelphia. I just simply asked them, what do you think about the situation? And you should hear the rhetoric that came out of people's mouths knowing that they were on camera. Every single one espoused, genocide or ethnic cleansing. And it was just absolutely horrific. I mean, I could not believe what I

La guerre israélienne a eu pour conséquence de priver au moins 620 000 étudiants palestiniens de la possibilité de s'inscrire dans leurs écoles depuis octobre dernier et d'autres institutions d'éducation dans la bande de Gaza. Speaker 0: There is genocide. There is politicide, I. E. Making sure that the Palestinians are leaderless. The new term is eduicide. Israel has targeted over 370 schools. 370 schools. 70% that is of Gaza's school buildings. 2 thirds of Gaza's schools have been destroyed. Destroying bookshops, libraries, publishing houses, and universities. Israel has in fact damaged or destroyed completely every single 1 of Gaza's 12 universities. Every single 1 of Gaza's 12 universities. It has done so with glee. Are you following their soldiers and their officers? You're following them filming themselves with the smile on their face, demolishing all these universities, schools, like most recently when the Israeli military used 315 mines to demolish Al Isra University on January 17th in what amounts to the first time, a recorded confession to a war crime. They are so proudly documenting and airing their war crimes. Education is they know. Israel does know that education is the lifeblood of any society, let alone the Palestinian society. It is our lifeblood. It is our lifeline. That's why by the way, the Palestinian society has 1 of the lowest illiteracy rate in the world, because it's our lifeblood. And do you know that we have 1 of the highest, if not the highest PhD per capita graduates worldwide? It's meant because this is a society that has lost its material base in the Nakba.
