The map by The Guardian shows the extensive destruction in Gaza by Israeli bombardment. Residential buildings, greenhouses, warehouses, tree crops, schools, and health facilities have been decimated. The destruction aligns with a humanitarian corridor, which witnesses describe as a corridor of death and humiliation. Civilians have been targeted, executed, and subjected to horrific treatment. The devastation is unimaginable and will take decades to restore, if allowed. The red swatches on the map represent the annihilation of a people.

Speaker 0: This is the map published by The Guardian on the 30th January showing the extent of the destruction wreaked in Gaza by Israeli bombardment since the 7th October last year. It's shocking enough in itself, but when you cross reference it with maps you begin to get a sense of the way in which the conditions of life in Gaza have been systematically annihilated by Israeli forces. This is a map showing every residential building in Gaza before 7th October. This is what was left as of the end of January. And of course, the destruction continues across the territory, but particularly right now in Rafa. Here is a map of greenhouses in Gaza before the Israeli bombardment. Greenhouses are a lifeline for many Gazan families providing greater and more secure to healthy foods. This is what is left of those now. And, of course, without a functioning water supply, even most of these have been rendered unusable. Also, in terms of food security, here are Gaza's warehouses before the Israeli carpet bombing and what's left. This is a map of tree crops in Gaza before the destruction began, including fruit trees and olive trees, which have provided food for residents and been among Gaza's major exports. This is what currently remains undamaged. This map shows all private schools, Palestinian authority schools, schools, and universities running in Gaza before the 7th October. And here are those that haven't yet been destroyed. None of these is, of course, currently able to function as such in any case. Here is a map of major health facilities in Gaza before Israeli forces began to attack them, including prenatal facilities, mental health facilities, clinics, and hospitals. And here is what remains. All of this destruction would take many decades to restore, Although, of course, it seems unlikely that those who built and grew all that has been pulverized by the Israeli bombardment will even be allowed to return to do so. One prominent feature of this map emerges when you subtract the destruction caused to built up areas, which have been more or less annihilated. Here you can see a line of destruction stretching down through the center of the territory. This particular swath of bombardment aligns with the so called humanitarian corridor announced by Israel along Sala al Din Street in November last year. When residents of Gaza City in the north were ordered to evacuate they were promised safe passage along this street. However, many witnesses have described Saladin Street as a corridor of death and humiliation. Civilian convoys and vehicles have been repeatedly bombed and targeted, And testimonies from dozens of witnesses collected in Gaza by journalist Tarek Hajjaz, describe Palestinians having been summarily executed and killed by Israeli snipers, including children, their parents ordered by their murderers to abandon their bodies by the side of the road. According to the testimonies, people were made to crawl on their bellies through checkpoints, forced to undress and descend into pits filled with dead bodies, sometimes to be shot, sometimes to be released, among many other horrors. The street is littered with the bodies of men, women and children in various states of decomposition. There are millions of horror stories like these behind these simple red swatches, which delineates the annihilation of a people.

Speaker 0: Hey, everyone. Ramadan Kareem. Today is the 5th day of the holy month of Ramadan, with around a 1000000000 Muslim fast around the world for the whole day. Since the beginning of the day, the sunrise, to the the last of the day, to the sunset, eating only 2 meals. The first meal is the suhoor to start the day. Then the second meal is the suhoor to break their fast. But yesterday, 200 men left their homes in the north of Gaza Strip to the Kuwaiti roundabout where the humanitarian aid is distributed, like a Rashid street. But they did not get back again with any flour. They went to grab some flour to bake bread for the suhoor. They did not come back again because the Israeli army opened fire on them and bombed them and also bombed the people who tried to rescue them. The only thing who remained after the massacre happened yesterday was the flower bags with with blood in the 5th day of Ramadan. In the 5th day of Ramadan, Muslims, in the 5th day of Ramadan, Arabs, in the 5th day of Ramadan, world, they went hungry to grab some flour, and they did not get back to their homes, to their families, and to their children again. It's the 5th day of Ramadan. Allah will never forgive you. They went hungry, and they died hungry. They were killed because of hunger. They tried to grab some food, some flour from the the humanitarian aid, and then they were killed by the Israeli army. Israel committed the first flower massacre in front of our eyes only 2 weeks ago and killed more than 100 people. Now more than 50 people are killed and a lot of injuries in critical conditions, and no one is moving. They also started by bombing in Mamedani Hospital hospital in front of your eyes, causing 500 people to be killed. Then they committed another massacre in Shefa hospital, Nasser hospital, in Nasser hospital, Kamanad 1 hospital because you did not stop them. Now they are continuing to to commit another massacres for those who are waiting for aid and trying to find any food and to face the starvation that Israel applied on them in the middle of Ramadan, and you did not move to stop this. They are dying hungry.

Speaker 0: New photos published by an Israeli occupation soldier show dozens of detainees from Gaza in inhumane conditions. They are placed in large numbers inside iron cages, scenes documenting the inhumanity that around 25 100 prisoners are living through about whom nothing is known. International organizations are prevented from visiting them in secret prisons. They are bound and blindfolded at all times and forbidden to move. They are lying on their backs with their faces up and wearing diapers. Some of them have had their limbs amputated due to injuries resulting from the constant shackling of their hands. About 20 of them, including a doctor, were martyred under torture, according to the occupation statement. While data indicates that dozens were martyred under torture and medical negligence, The occupation army turned military facilities into concentration camps for Palestinians from Gaza. The most notorious of which is the Sidiman camp in the Nakab desert. It is considered an incubator for diseases, and the health situation there is tragic, according to an Israeli medical source who added in his description, the prison is another world, a black hole.

Israel has a history of bombing Gaza, claiming mistakes after killing civilians. Recent incidents include airstrikes killing Palestinians in tents, foreign aid workers, and a six-year-old girl. Israel often attributes these killings to errors or misidentifications, sparking global outrage. Despite advanced technology, Israel's military actions have resulted in numerous civilian casualties, leading to accusations of intentional harm and potential genocide.

Speaker 0: There's a pattern of Israel bombing and killing people in Gaza then claiming it made a mistake. Speaker 1: This tragic mistake Speaker 0: And this mistake in war, a mistake was made. It's a grave mistake. Speaker 2: Only after there's public outcry. On the 26th May, Israeli air strikes killed over 40 Palestinian in their displaced tents in Rafah, an area designated by Israel as a safe zone. What was Israel's response after the global outcry to the massacre and graphic scenes? Netanyahu said it was a tragic mishap or mistake. Israel initially claimed it was targeting 2 Hamas officials but produced no evidence to back up these claims. 2 days later, Israel targeted a nearby area in Rafah again and killed over 22 Palestinians in their tents. In April, Israel killed 7 foreign aid workers in Gaza with 3 consecutive airstrikes on clearly marked vehicles for the World Central Kitchen. Then Israel said it was a serious mistake only after there was global outrage and condemnation of the brutal killings of foreign aid workers despite the aid group coordinating their movements with the Israeli army. Israel said those who approved the strikes were convinced that they were targeting armed Hamas operatives and not World Central Kitchen employees. Back in March, Israel targeted and killed 2 Palestinians on their bikes and then claimed it had mistaken the bikes for RPG rocket launchers. Are you seeing a pattern? In February, Israeli forces fired indiscriminately at 100 of Palestinians seeking aid in Northern Gaza. Israeli forces killed at least a 100 Palestinians that day, and this became known as the flower massacre. According to Al Jazeera's reporter who was at the scene, after opening fire, Israeli tanks advanced and ran over many of the dead and injured bodies. Israel's official statements then said Palestinians died after being trampled in a stampede and that its forces fired at a number of suspects who moved towards their soldiers. United Nations staff who visited those being treated in the Al Shefa hospital at the time said the injured were being treated for bullet wounds. In December, an Israeli airstrike killed at least 86 people in the Maghazi refugee camp in central Gaza. Then the Israeli spokesperson at the time called it a regrettable mistake and claimed it was down to the use of incorrect munitions. Also in December, Israel killed 3 of its own hostages during armed clashes with Hamas fighters. Then an IDF spokesperson said the 3 were mistakenly identified as a threat. The hostages were reportedly waving white flags. The late doctor Rifat El Aire, a poet and professor of literature from Gaza who was killed by an Israeli airstrike on his home in December, said in a lecture back in 2021 Speaker 1: Like, if Israel bombs some area here or there, you just ask the question, okay, there must be something that made Israel bomb this particular area or this particular house. But most often, Israel will come out and like, oops, we made a mistake. Oops, we killed these 50 people by mistake. We didn't mean to kill these we didn't know that Israel that knows everything with the technology and everything here. Speaker 2: Now when we look back at the killing of 6 year old Hint Rajab at the end of January this year, Israel's response claimed that its forces were not present near the vehicle or within the firing range. A Washington Post investigation later found that Israeli armed vehicles were present in the area that afternoon. Also, the gunfire audible as Hind and her cousin, Leanne, begged for help and the extensive damage caused to the ambulance were consistent with Israeli weapons. All the way back in October, following a suspected Israeli strike on the El Ehrli hospital in northern Gaza, Israel blamed it on misfired Palestinian rockets, a claim they didn't back up with conclusive evidence and one that Palestinian groups vehemently denied. Following an investigation, forensic architecture said while what happened at El Ehrli remains inconclusive, the Israeli military launched an aggressive disinformation campaign. When Al Jazeera reporter Shireen Abu Aqleh was deliberately killed by an Israeli sniper in Jenin in 2022, Israel initially tried to deflect the blame on Palestinian fighters in the area. Investigations later confirmed that it was indeed an Israeli Israeli sniper that deliberately targeted and killed Shireen Abu Aqleh. In May this year, after Israel admitted killing 5 of its own young soldiers by mistake, Israel's military leaders apologized for both incidents and promised to sharpen their rules of engagement. Israel repeatedly claims it does not target civilians and boasts being one of the most technologically advanced military powers in the world. Yet in the last 200 days, Israel has dropped over 75,000 tons of explosives from Gaza and killed over 36,000 people, the majority of whom are women and children. Many people have not only questioned the Israeli military's competence and rules of engagement, but they're also questioning Israel's intent in its war on Gaza. Israel is now facing genocide charges as its accusers say that its intention to harm and kill civilians in Gaza is deliberate.

Speaker 0: The Israeli army stealing, looting, burning houses, shooting without limitation. Basically, they're giving green light to the soldiers to do whatever they want. They described it that many times they would shoot for fun, out of being bored, just to awaken the area to see if there's anything there. One soldier said that even you had a small sense of fear, you could shoot. You didn't have to justify it. Nobody would ask questions. They would gather the mattresses. They would gather the furniture that was left and just set it on fire and go out. Some of them are proud in what they're doing. They brag about it in social media, and this was, as it seems, our official I think the fact that Israeli politicians called for revenge from day 1 went down and gave also this feeling of support to the commanders and to the soldiers that they have impunity. They would have a red line in populated area that the Israeli army ordered people to leave, but not always everybody could or chose to leave, and in this red line, if somebody would pass it, they would be shot immediately. I think because the Israeli media also doesn't report about the horrific situation in Gaza, many people in the Israeli public were surprised from the ICJ case or from the protests across Europe in the US campuses, because they are not exposed to this reality. We've called for an independent we've called for the government of Israel to conduct tried. And I think this can teach us about how we got to the point that there's so much casualties and so much destruction in Gaza. I think it should bother every person around the world and especially young people because this is the future we are going to. If this is acceptable, this could be acceptable in every country and every warfare in the future.

The speaker describes a precision strike on a multistory building that targeted a specific apartment. The target was two 4-day-old babies, their mother, and their grandmother. The father was away obtaining birth certificates at the time of the strike. The speaker claims the strike utilized a low-yield JDAM missile and laser targeting, requiring reconnaissance and infrared scanning to identify the occupants. They assert the attackers knew the identities of those inside, including the newborns. The speaker alleges the strike was retaliation against Dr. Juman Arfa, the mother, for posting on Facebook about snipers targeting children. The speaker states the victims' birth certificates had just been obtained, and the father discovered their deaths at the hospital. The speaker concludes the attack was intentional, and the White House is waiting for the perpetrators to investigate themselves.

Speaker 0: No. Some of you aren't getting it. Do you see that? That is a precision strike. That is what the occupation is capable of when they're trying to target one area, one apartment. That is a multistory building, and they only took out one apartment. Do you wanna know who they were targeting? This is who they were targeting. These babies were 4 days old. This is a photo of them right after they were born. You see? Beautiful, tiny, newborn. Yeah. They were targeting them, their mom, and their grandmother. The father had left to go get their birth certificates. He wasn't there. Do you know what they have to do to carry out a strike like that? They use a very specific kind of JDAM missile that's got a very low yield, and it requires that they point a laser at their target, which means that they have to have reconnaissance. They use infrared to see into the building they've shown us before. They can see who is in there, and they can determine whether they are male or female or adult or child. They determine it based off of body heat and shape. There were 4 people in that apartment. 2 of them were 4 days old. 1 of them was their mom, and the other was their grandmother. They knew that he wasn't there. They specifically targeted 2 newborn babies, their mother, and their grandmother. Why? Doctor Juman Arfa. She had been posting to her personal Facebook page about the snipers targeting children directly in the head and chest, which she was personally witness to. They killed a woman and her children and her mother to keep her silent. They had just gotten the birth certificates for Acer and Azel. And this is what the father saw when he got home. He didn't find out that they were all gone until he got to the hospital. He was still holding their birth certificates With full knowledge and full intent, they targeted 2 newborn babies, and the White House is waiting for them to investigate themselves.

Whatโ€™s happening in Gaza is not a war; it's utter destruction of life and everything on the ground, including the people. Palestinians who survived previous assaults have said that this is unlike anything they've experienced before. It's genocide, the destruction of a group, in whole or in part. This is achieved through killings, inflicting mental or physical harm, or creating life conditions that lead to the group's destruction. The destruction of mosques, universities, homes, roads, hospitals, and the decimation of the health system are all examples of this. It's full destruction, full destruction of of life, of anything that stands on the ground and and actually beyond the ground in in in Gaza. And of course that the human beings who have inhabited it. I can't forget that those I interviewed in the early weeks, the Palestinians were were surviving the the assault were saying, this is like no other war we have had, and these are people who had gone through five major wars and thirty five years of military rule before, the disengagement. So it's genocide. Genocide is the destruction of a group in whole or in part as such, and it can happen through acts of killing, severe infliction of mental or physical harm or creations of conditions of life that lead to the destruction of the group. And how how can how the destruction of mosques, universities, homes, roads, any anything that is necessary to live, to survive the destruction of hospitals. The health system has been decimated. And again, as yesterday, I was with doctor Rassana Bussita who said something that that touched me.
