How despite numerous eyewitness testimonies, the Israeli military ruled her death an accident. And how, now almost 20 years later, Her parents are still seeking justice. This is a story of Rachel Corry. At midday on 16th March, 2003, the phone started ringing at the home of Cindy Ian Craig Corry in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Whilst her husband was busy with the laundry, Cindy picked up the phone, unaware of how life changing the next few words would be. It's Rachel. Cindy had just been told that her 23 year old daughter, Her youngest had been crushed to death under an Israeli military bulldozer, while trying to prevent the demolition of a Palestinian home in Rafah, Gaza.
Speaker 1: They rounded up about a 150 men, held them under a sniper tower, and and shot around them to contain the men, the farmers in the area. What I'm witnessing here is a very systematic, destruction of people's ability to survive, And that is incredibly horrifying.
Speaker 0: Carrying a loudspeaker and wearing an orange fluorescent jacket, American activist Rachel Corry headed for a protest against demolition of Palestinian houses and Rafat refugee camp. It was nearly 3 years into the 2nd intefarva, a Palestinian uprising against Israeli occupation. Rachel had been in Gaza for 2 months after becoming involved with the International Solidarity Movement or ISM, a Palestinian led group of international activists dedicated to protesting against Israeli human rights abuses. In Rafa, Rachel stood in front of the home of the family and knelt her knees 20 meters ahead of a caterpillar d nine r armored bulldozer. Now, this was quite common practice during protests.
The young activist was attempting to disrupt the Israeli military's demolitions, an operation deemed by human rights groups as collective punishment of Palestinians. According to eyewitnesses, as the bulldozer got closer, it pushed a mound of earth in front of its blade. The heat began to overtake Cori, so she stood up to climb the mountain soil. Rachel's fellow activists screamed for the driver, an Israeli soldier to stop. But the driver continued and ran over the American student twice.
Speaker 2: Yeah. We'd been out there for several hours on March 16th of 2003. We'd been for weeks, we'd been doing this, blocking these bulldozers with with our bodies. And, on this day in particular, we've been out for about 2 and a half hours walking these same two bulldozers over and over again. And eventually, just one of the drivers apparently got tired of stopping and very intentionally drove over Rachel, crushed her to death.
I was sitting about 30 feet away blocking another bulldozer at the time, and watched it it run over her and then back off of her again.
Speaker 0: Rachel died soon after being taken to Rafah Hospital from suffocation.
Speaker 1: One of the problems with this whole trial and right from the beginning, you know, prime minister Sharon promised president Bush a thorough, credible, and transparent investigation. It's still the opinion of our government as well as our family that that never happened.
Speaker 0: Rachel's parents and other activists blamed the Israeli military for the death. The army pledged to conduct a thorough investigation and report to then president George w Bush. But the IDF closed the investigation without delivering a comprehensive report. Instead, they refuted the parents' claims and accused Rachel and her fellow activists of illegal and dangerous behavior.
Speaker 3: Contrary to allegations, Ms. Cori was not run over by a bulldozer, but sustained injuries caused by earthen debris which fell on Heard during a bulldozer operation. At the time of the incident, miss Corey was standing behind an earth mound and therefore obscured from the bulldozer crew's view.

Alexander Hamilton, delegate from New York, said, we are now forming a republican government. Real liberty is not found in democracy.
If we incline too much to democracy, we shall soon shoot into a monarchy. John Adams, one of the giants of the American revolutionary period, said, democracy will envy all, contend with all, endeavor to pull down all. And when by chance it happens to get the upper hand for a short time, democracy will be revengeful, bloody, and cruel. America was founded not as a democracy, but as a constitutional republic. We pledge allegiance to the republic for which our flag stands not to a democracy.

And Ted Koppel came on the news about noon and said that the FBI was looking for five Middle Eastern men who were seen videotaping and celebrating the attack on the World Trade Center. I thought that's interesting. That was first time Middle Eastern had been mentioned. I told my wife, they could be Israelis. The Israelis in Middle Eastern.
And lo and behold, that's what happened. The next day, it turned out these men were arrested in New Jersey. They were arrested on 09/11. And two of them the two on the far right are actually Mossad agents. And they're known to US law enforcement as being agents of of Mossad.
The other the other three these three here are basically sub agents, operatives working with. And they were arrested in New Jersey and they they they pulled over and they they were pulled over. They had been they had been videotaping and filming the World Trade Center burning. And as they did so, they were clicking their lighters and giving high fives and things like that. And they were they were observed by a lady in New Jersey who called the FBI, called the police, and then the New Jersey police caught them.

My son is there. My husband is there. But what happened of of those 4,000 people who were supposedly there, only three or four died. Three or four Israelis died in the whole operation. Well, how did they, you know, how did how did they avoid harm?
Well, what what clearly happened also is that there was an instant messaging service called Odigo, an Israeli instant messaging service that sent out a warning two hours before nine eleven happened, warning people not to go to the World Trade Center that day because there would be a catastrophe there. And the the vice president of the company said that the the prediction, the time was exact to the minute, so 08:45. Right? And the message was sent out on a platform that you could receive through your Blackberry or your Blueberry or your cell phone or your Internet, whatever. And so all platforms, but it was sent out in Hebrew and it was sent out using a buddy system where you can say, I'm gonna send this message to all Israelis on the system who's obviously speak Hebrew.
Boom boom boom. And by using by choosing those parameters, everybody on that whole network who shared ODIGO would got the message and they didn't go to work. They didn't go to the World Trade Center that day. They did something else. Like Larry Silverstein, went to the doctor.
Like like Al Franken, they they stayed to visit their mom. Some other guy, they went water skiing. Did anything else, but didn't go to work that day.
