Texas is fighting back against the Biden administration's actions at the southern border. They have set up storage containers as a makeshift wall after federal agents used a forklift to raise razor wire and allow migrants in. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton filed a lawsuit, which was successful, requiring the administration to stop tampering with the border. This highlights the ongoing tensions and challenges at the border.

NEW: Texas is punching back at the Biden administration by reportedly putting up storage containers as a make-shift wall at the southern border after federal agents raised razor wire with a fork lift to let migrants in. Texas AG Ken Paxton said in a lawsuit that "federal agents used hydraulic-powered pallet forks to rip fence out of the ground, holding it suspended in the air in order to wave more than 300 migrants illegally into Texas." Federal Judge Alia Moses handed Texas a win in this lawsuit, saying the Biden administration must stop "disassembling, degrading, tampering" at the southern border. Your president hates you. The Texas National Guard has seized control of Shelby Park in Eagle Pass, blocking access to Border Patrol and deploying razor wire and fences. NEW: The Texas Military Department confirms the TX National Guard has seized control of Shelby Park in Eagle Pass (city property where mass illegal crossings are), and is restricting Border Patrol from accessing the area, saying the Feds “perpetuate illegal crossings”. This is the area where Border Patrol has been cutting TX razor wire. Razor wire and fences are now deployed to block the area off from the public and federal government. Attached video is from our crew on the ground this morning as they began blocking it off. You can expect DOJ to sue Texas over this. Texas Military Department statement: “The Texas National Guard has maintained a presence with security points and temporary barrier in Shelby Park since 2021. The current posture is to prepare for future illegal immigrant surges and to restrict access to organizations that perpetuate illegal immigrant crossings in the park and greater Eagle Pass area.” I reached out to CBP/Border Patrol in the sector for comment hours ago - no response yet.

NEW: The Border Patrol union confirms to me that agents are being blocked by Texas soldiers, and the union is praising Abbott for seizing control. @BPUnion statement: “Governor Abbott is not harming Border Patrol operations, he is enhancing them. Love to see it 🔥 The move has angered the Biden administration who submitted a new court filing to the Supreme Court, claiming Texas is putting up miles of razor wire. "That fencing further restricts Border Patrol's ability to reach the river in particular areas," the Department of 'Justice' said. This highlights the strained relationship between Texas and the Biden administration.

Speaker 0: Texas just upping the ante. First of all, they took over Shelby Park. They put razor wire like the one that you see behind me, and now they are arresting migrants for criminal trespass. Border patrol does not have access to that area, which means the state of Texas is determining the outcome of, what migrants have to face first. According to Texas DPS, single men and single women are being, arrested for criminal trespass. So they have to deal with the state charge first. Families and children are turned over to US border patrol. Again, this is the state of Texas determining the outcome because border patrol is not in that area, and that just speaks to this, sparring relationship between the, state of Texas and the Biden illustration.

President Biden's order to keep the Southern border open is seen as a deliberate strategy to aid traffickers and cartels. Governor Abbott is taking action to protect Texas, while the President undermines these efforts instead of providing federal help. This is seen as reckless and an outrage.

@SpeakerJohnson - Speaker Mike Johnson

Today’s order underscores that keeping our Southern border open to traffickers and cartels is part of a deliberate strategy by President Biden.   For over three years, the President’s reckless policies have endangered Americans and devastated communities across Texas, like those I visited earlier this month.   Governor Abbott is doing exactly what any leader must: taking action to protect his state’s sovereignty and his citizens’ security. Rather than providing federal help, the President is shamefully undermining these efforts. It is an outrage.

And and that is because the Biden administration has really truly abdicated his responsibility to secure the border and enforce the laws, Texas very simply is securing the border. And so we put up the razor wire that you were talking about, Bill, and we put up all these barricades that actually have denied illegal entry. And as you pointed out also in that screen that there are criminals coming across our border. Texas has a right as a state to stop criminals from coming into our state, to make arrests of those criminals. And we have National Guard as well as Texas Department of Public Safety Officers who were there to make those arrests and to deny illegal entry. And Joe Biden actually does have an option here. Joe Biden's option is to enforce the laws of the United States and stop this illegal entry.

Speaker 0: Good morning, Matt. Good morning, Bill. As it stands right now, you might be able to make up behind me. Texas' razor wire is still here inside of Shelby Park. It remains untouched. However, the Biden administration has now warned Texas, it has until tomorrow to allow Biden's border agents back into Shelby Park and the ability to remove Texas' razor wire as it sees fit. A federal attorney writes to Texas attorney general Ken Paxton that the supreme court ruled in favor of the Biden administration ending a temporary restraining order that prohibited Biden's border agents from touching Texas razor wire in and around Shelby Park. The Biden administration In the letter to Texas reads in part, the supreme court restored the department's right to cut and move the concertina wire placed by Texas in order to perform their statute statutory duties. In sum, we require full access to the Shelby Tark area currently obstructed by Texas by January 26, 2024. Please confirm that the state will provide US border patrol with the access described. Now the Biden administration goes into detail about the access it wants. It wants access to Shelby Park, also the nearby boat launch and the international bridge. For 2 weeks now, Texas governor Greg Abbott has seized this hot spot for illegal immigration and kicked out the feds, arguing in part that president Biden actually wants an open border. Governor Abbott says president Biden's lawless border policies has allowed more than 6,000,000 illegal immigrants to cross the southern border in the 3 years. So Abbott has used his authority to declare an invasion, writing in part, that authority is the supreme law of the land and supersedes the federal statutes to the contrary. The Texas National Guard and other Texas personnel are acting on that authority to secure the Texas border. And this morning, the US speaker of the house and at least 6 other Republican governors from various states are backing, Texas governor Greg Abbott. And the speaker of Taos says the US House will do whatever it can to support governor Abbott. So the showdown continues. Yes. It does. Dana.
