The speaker states that the situation in Florida is tragic and they are trying to ascertain the exact number of victims with the help of their FEMA advisor. There is a discrepancy between FEMA's numbers and those used by locals. The speaker describes the photographs as stunning and notes the wide area affected. The government has provided everything they have and was on the ground ahead of time, working hard. They have already planned a significant amount of resources, even though they hadn't been asked for them yet.

Speaker 0: Yes. It's tragic. A matter of fact, we're trying to get the exact number. My FEMA adviser is on the ground in Florida right now. There's a distinction between the numbers that FEMA's used and the ones that are used by, by the locals. So it's, it really is amazing. You saw the photographs. It's stunning. It's so funny. But it really is. So many so such a wide area. And we and we we gave given them all of the everything that we have. We're on the ground ahead of time. So we're working hard. Are there any more resources the federal government could be giving them? No. We've given them we have 2 planned a significant amount of it even though they didn't ask for it yet. Had hadn't asked for it yet.

Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are more focused on squandering FEMA’s resources on illegal immigrants rather using them to help Americans like those in North Carolina struggling after a hurricane. This is disgraceful and must end.

Video Transcript AI Summary
We're witnessing the devastation post-hurricane, 50 days later, with little visible help from FEMA. Many residents, like one family, are struggling without adequate support, living in tents after hotel assistance ends. Volunteers are working tirelessly to clear mud and debris, while some residents are left to rebuild their homes alone. There's a significant lack of funding and resources, with many feeling abandoned by the government. Reports of human remains found in the area highlight the ongoing tragedy. Despite the challenges, community members are relying on private donations and volunteer efforts to survive and rebuild. The situation remains dire, with many still waiting for promised aid and assistance.

We're now 50 days after the hurricane here, and we're talking to some of these officials on the ground about what it's like to rebuilding efforts after we spoke to the FEMA whistleblower about our bureaucrats are not helping out. Speaker 2: Number one goal of FEMA is to instill equity in emergency management. It's not to save lives. Speaker 0: We wanna find out who is helping out and what's actually going on. What are you guys doing in the suits? Speaker 4: We are cleaning out the crawl space of this house, all of the mud that was swept in. This is the first step that you need to take in order to dry out the house before you can start the repairs. Otherwise, you have all of the potential toxins in the mud and it also stays too damp, so it would be it would go moldy. So you have to clean this out before you're able to do the repairs and allow the homeowners to move back. Speaker 0: And what are you finding in the house? What are you seeing? Speaker 4: I mean, this area was completely devastated. Speaker 0: Is the government paying FEMA paying you guys? Speaker 4: No. We're a non profit NGO, so we're funded by private donations and foundation funding. Speaker 2: My name Speaker 4: is Staley. Speaker 2: I just wanna know all of my kids. Speaker 0: I see you got the the hazmat hazmat suit on. Do do you live in in one of these places here? Or Yeah. Speaker 2: This is my house. This Speaker 0: is your house right here? Speaker 2: Yeah. I'm just wearing this because I'm removing my flooring, and there's some molding. In there. Speaker 0: Just made for use of outside of Speaker 2: insulation. Verification. Speaker 0: Has FEMA come to help you? Has the government helped you? Speaker 2: No. They haven't helped me yet. Speaker 0: I mean, where are you living right now? I'm Speaker 2: in a hotel. FEMA has helped me with the hotel. Speaker 0: They paid Speaker 2: for my hotel. Speaker 0: FEMA pays for a hotel. Speaker 2: Yeah. But I have one more day, man. And then Speaker 0: One more day. Okay. And then what are you gonna do? Speaker 2: Live in that tent. Speaker 0: You're gonna live in that tent? Speaker 2: It's a it's a tent with a stove, a wood stove in it. Oh. Yeah. Me and my kids will be there. Speaker 0: What do you think about that? Speaker 2: I don't like it, but it's better than nothing. Speaker 0: At least I wanna Speaker 2: be on my property so I can be here every day rebuilding my house. Speaker 0: Observe what's happening with your house. Alright. Speaker 2: Well, not observe. I'm the only one doing anything. Speaker 0: You're doing the work? Speaker 2: Yes. Speaker 0: You're doing the work rebuilding your house? Speaker 2: Yes. Is Speaker 0: anybody helping? Carpenter's daughter. Oh. Mhmm. You're so so He Speaker 2: doesn't live here, though. Speaker 0: Is there anyone helping you do this work? Not yet. Just you. Speaker 2: People have said they would, but then nobody showed up yet. Speaker 0: Nobody showed up yet? And and these materials, do you buy them yourself? Does someone provide them to you? Speaker 2: I buy them myself. Speaker 0: With your own money? Speaker 2: Yes. That's Speaker 0: unbelievable. So daily just told us that this is her home and she's she has one day left in the hotel and then she's gonna come and live in this tent. They're building these tents right next to the house. You guys are helping build a tent? I have. Yes. And who are you guys with? Savage Freedom. Savage Freedom. Who provides the material and who provides the the this this tent? Generosity of a whole bunch of people, man. Speaker 2: As whatever however long it takes me, I'm hoping they come through and give me some money to pay for the rebuild of my house. Speaker 0: Re reimbursing yours. Speaker 2: They said it's destroyed. They said, we're you know, so I'm eligible to get up to 47 grand for to replace my house. But they haven't come through. It's been 2 months and I can't wait in the winter and the cold anymore. Speaker 5: So I think FEMA as an organization is it operates exactly as it's designed. It's a, it is a bureaucratic organization that justifies its existence by sitting on its funding. And it doesn't really function the way it's earmarked to function. Speaker 1: Gotta get that green shed. Speaker 0: That green shed was over here. It was right where we were. Floated over there. Mhmm. So he wants to keep his land. And he had a FEMA worker had come out, and he said she was really nice, you know, and that, you know, they they were gonna help, but it's the permit thing, and now he's feeling like they're trying to prevent him from building. Why? We don't believe they want these people out here. Just until a few days ago, you've had these sewer pipes and these leakages in the rivers. And the dogs, if they drink, they end up getting sick. Which river that one right over there? Yes. This river right over here. That sewage pipes leaking in the river. How how long, has this been broken? Probably, I guess, since the flood. Since, like, September? Yep. And it's now almost well, it's mid November. It's been a while. We're faith based, and all we do is hey. It's private. Faith based? What do you mean by that? Our organization is faith based. We don't really need the government. We just we do what we do through private funding. Do you trust the government, FEMA? I don't do politics. So both. Yeah. I just don't do it. You know, at the end of the day, we it's nice to get help. I will I will say this, though, about the military. I had 640 kids, 8 platoons given to me 2 weeks after this happened, and they literally poured out their hearts for 2 weeks. Mhmm. You know? Does FEMA come alongside and do stuff? We don't really see the help. Are these FEMA contractors? No. Probably that. No. These are volunteers. We move around 70 about 75 people here today. Those are volunteers. Those are all volunteers. And what do they do? Anywhere from steel carpentry to picking up debris. So we're here in front of miss Alice's house. They're tearing the house apart. The power of the storm they say was equal to a 100 Niagara Falls coming through at the same time. They said it looked like Beirut. They'd say there's an urn in here, so they have to take the house apart just a little bit at a time. This is the lady who didn't make it. We made a memorial for her yesterday. This is miss Lisa. She got washed away in the storm. Did you find the body in there? Her I did find the body. She's been identified, and, she's buried. And this is her this is her piece of land here. So we just wanted to confirm That's Lisa's land right there. Speaker 2: So the force of the water came through here so fast and so with such intensity, It literally swept this entire church off of its foundation. Even putting things up like storage buildings. I know that's not a long term solution, but when somebody doesn't have a warm place to stay and there's a huge hole in their roof and the foundation of their home is undermined, that storage building is a whole lot better than a tent. Speaker 0: So we're here on this Tull River right here. As you see this road, it's actually there's a cone that blocks you from driving down this road. This asphalt just fell. There's a crack right here. And you've got these massive caterpillar, these massive caterpillar things just on the bank. Look at this. It just drops off. It drops right down, you know, and the silt and the water coming 25 feet up. Look at this right here. Cars driving past the road, just not right down, some 52 days after the storm. So it's really just a lack of money that I'm hearing. Speaker 2: There's a huge lack of money Speaker 0: in this community. That money supposed to come from in your view? Speaker 2: Whoever is raising money by doing TikTok videos, man. I don't know. Speaker 0: The government, the the Speaker 2: I would hope so Speaker 0: for Speaker 2: all of us that have paid taxes on all of our logs. I would certainly hope that there would have been more help in here than what they're seeing. Speaker 3: We still have great things missing from this community. Speaker 2: See, this is typically when it's scraped off, so typically that came off. So these are all shoes that we found. It was tied. Uh-huh. So tight. That means it came off. Typically, that would mean that some of these came off. Speaker 0: A cadaver. Speaker 2: We have here to tear this off. We took took everything out of it, and we pulled, like, nail tissue. Speaker 0: Nail tissue? Speaker 2: An ID. We put this on. There's bones. This is where we found. Speaker 0: You can just walk Speaker 2: here, and you can actually find the bones because You Speaker 0: can just walk there, and you can actually find the bones because of the wind. Do you wanna Speaker 2: look right now? Sure. Speaker 0: That's a that's a human bone. Yeah. Right there. Speaker 2: Had to get. Yeah. This was supposed to be picked up a couple weeks ago. Speaker 0: So that one right there is a human bone. The number 1. Is it recent? I Speaker 2: don't see anything. It is that green bone. Speaker 0: Just some healing bones here on the Toh River in in Crane Mountain. Speaker 2: Yeah. So they did say that the the the the Speaker 0: the Who said that could float? The sheriff's door on bridge canal. Mitchell County Sheriff's Department said that the flood Speaker 2: They said some of them could be just cemetery. The issue is that it's still something scary. Speaker 0: So we're scanning the outside. The sheriff's office are open with thousands of different remains. And a lot of the residents are saying that they were told by the picture. The sheriff's department just let the phones float down the river. So we reached out to Mitchell County sheriff's department, reached out to all the sheriffs, and while we were not going on, not one single state representative got back to us. Not one county representative got back to us, bringing the doorbell here. They're just not responding. Nobody's willing to talk to us. Nobody here in North Carolina wants to talk to the press about what needs to happen. Back in Western North Carolina, we're revisiting a controversial site linked to alleged money laundering. Jeep Security Corp. made $7.5 million in just seven weeks, and now the camp is completely dismantled. Local residents confirmed it was a FEMA camp, but many, including high-ranking FEMA officials, were unaware of its existence. The area is still suffering despite the supposed completion of work. A premiere titled "Ground 0, North Carolina" will air on December 17th, featuring discussions on various issues, including weather modification and resource wars. General Flynn is involved, emphasizing the need to decentralize and restore the republic. The situation remains dire, and there's more to uncover.

Speaker 0: Well, well, well, here we are again. Back here in Western North Carolina where the good people are, and we are showing up to where it all began, the scene of the crime. Looks like nothing but a bunch of money laundering went down at this location. But you know what? They popped up at camp. Just one of the vendors, Jeep Security Corp. Remember those guys that said I was villainizing them? Well, I'm villainizing those motherfuckers now. You know why? Because they made 7 a half $1,000,000 on this for 7 weeks. And, oh my god, look at this. This camp is now gone. They have taken it all up. It is gone. Can you take a little ride around? It says no trespassing. It says no trespassing. Oh, well, we're just gonna have to come fast a little bit. Doing a u-turn. We're just doing a u-turn because because we got lost. Yep. This is it, people. This is what your tax dollars got you. Just one contractor, strategic security corp. That's right. They're historically underutilized women owned for their 700 contractors that were gonna come here that never showed up. I mean, a few people were here, but those contractors, they told us, were there to integrate and work with and provide support for state and local resources, and I never talked to nobody that ever even heard of this camp here, including the FEMA people. I I talked to people that work inside FEMA, like, up high in FEMA, and they couldn't find this camp. So this was a bunch of BS, people. This is what money laundering looks like. And, oh, by the way, this property is owned by Ukrainian man, Viktor Matichuk. Look it up. We've posted it before. And I was filming from up there on the hill. I talked to people that lived in those houses up there on the hill all the way over there. Yep. Those people told me it's a FEMA camp, and they were right. It was a FEMA camp, and now it is gone. And guess what? The people here in North Carolina are still suffering like crazy. That's why I'm out here. I've got a premier called Ground 0, North Carolina, fighting globalism to restore the Republican. Airs 7 o'clock, Tuesday night, December 17th on all my channels, plus a lot of your friends that are friends of mine are gonna air it too, and we have a premiere here in general Flint's coming. We've got the Remnant Men Industries out of Texas gonna be here, Grindstone Ministries. We've got a lot of incredible people. We've got water and soil reports that are gonna blow your minds. The theme is gone because, you know, apparently, the work's done. And for god's sake, I don't know that. Everywhere I look, it's it's bad. I mean, it's still really bad here, and these people just they just don't care. But how about that? I'm a villain for villainizing strategic security corp, and that's only one contractor that got 7 and a half $1,000,000 for their little 7 or 8 week stint out here in Western North Carolina. Oh, by the way, this is just one camp. You know I've been to several. And, anyway, I think we have seen enough. We have more to come on this, and we're not done. I'm glad we were able to shine a light on this early on and get a lot of people out here. I hear James O'Keefe's out here too. He's looking into all this. Tune in to that documentary. You're you're gonna see a lot, and this is the first in a series that we're doing. We are looking into a lot of things out here from weather modification, CBS, the global war on resources. Yeah. That's right. The lithium, the courts, the 15 minute cities, and more. There's just so many aspects to this 5th generation war. That's why general Flynn's coming out here because he understands North Carolina is the beachhead to restore this republic called America, and we are going to decentralize, and we're gonna stand up and tear a long time because our declaration of independence tells us that when the government is no longer our friend, I'm here to pray for the court as Speaker 1: this time, all the people are allowed, and they're not listening to us. And Speaker 0: camp, gone. You all have a good day.

I will sign an executive order to reform or possibly eliminate FEMA. FEMA has proven ineffective during crises, often complicating recovery efforts. When disasters occur, it's better for states to handle the situation directly rather than relying on FEMA, which lacks local knowledge and imposes unfamiliar rules. Historical examples, like those in Louisiana and Texas, show that states ultimately do the work needed. Therefore, we are considering recommending the dissolution of FEMA.

I appreciate the President's stance on FEMA. His suggestion to potentially dismantle it resonates with my belief that FEMA operates as a shadow government, undermining American lives and freedoms. I see it as a tool for establishing control rather than providing aid. The urgency of addressing FEMA's role, especially in light of recent events like the LA fires, cannot be overstated. I’m ready to disengage if there’s no accountability soon.

Not a “reform” but a TOTAL dismantling. As I mentioned before: “FEMA is really the “shadow government” that exists SOLELY to grab as much land & DESTROY as many American lives as possible. The purpose of FEMA is to set up a country-wide prison state control grid to IMPRISON & DETAIN dissidents as we get closer to the New World Order take over of the United States.” FEMA is an EVIL scourge on American history and SHOULD BE ABOLISHED COMPLETELY.

Twelve tiny homes are being built in the parking lot of Cornerstone Summit Baptist Church for families displaced by Hurricane Helene. An Amish crew, led by Aaron, constructed the homes in just two days, completing about 90% of the work. A local man from Pennsylvania initiated the project after witnessing the damage and organized support from his Amish community to raise funds and modify the homes to meet local codes. Each shelter will be fully furnished with beds and propane heaters. Senior pastor Reggie Hunt noted that interest in the homes has surged, and plans are in place for more construction in January to help those still living in tents in areas like Pensacola, Burnsville, and Elk Park, as the cold weather approaches. The Amish builders demonstrated an impressive and efficient system throughout the process.

Henry says when he saw the homes being built, he had to come by and find out who was doing it. Speaker 1: I was talking to, Aaron was the name of the Amish gentleman leading the crew that was here. And Aaron explained to me, you know, that they are here to build these temporary housing units for, people displaced by hurricane Helene. However, they had to leave at the end of the day. Speaker 0: He says there were about 50 men building 12 homes in 2 days, and they got them about 90% done. Speaker 1: They actually erected everything from the outside in. They built these foundations. They, you know, framed out the walls, framed out the roofs, insulated everything, ran the electrical. Speaker 0: Henry says it all started with a man who came to the area from Pennsylvania and saw the damage. That man went to his local Amish community and asked for help. He then raised the money to get them here and build the sheds. Speaker 1: Found a local shed company, to modify the plans to make these sheds habitable, bring them up to local code with installation, outlets, light fixtures. Speaker 0: Now Henry is working hard to finish the shelters to get them ready for families. Speaker 1: It will come fully furnished with beds and propane heaters. Speaker 0: And senior pastor Reggie Hunt says they aren't done yet. Speaker 2: The phone has been ringing hot because people have been driving by and seeing, that these were being built. Speaker 0: So they plan to build more Speaker 2: This crew's gonna come back from Pennsylvania in January and make more. Speaker 0: To try to get as many out as possible. These 12 will be going to areas where people are still in tents. Speaker 2: Pensacola, Burnsville, Elk Park. Speaker 0: Because he says people in the high country deserve to get out of the cold and indoors as the weather keeps setting in. Speaker 2: The Amish builders are everything amazing. I mean, they were teenagers and older men, that they had a system that I've never seen before that was able to build this.

In a recent exchange, President Trump effectively counters Democrat Congressman Brad Sherman, who attempts to defend FEMA. Trump highlights the issues with FEMA's operations, noting that their teams often clash with local authorities due to differing approaches. He points out the lack of progress in California and contrasts it with the recovery efforts in North Carolina, attributing the success there to assistance from other states rather than FEMA's involvement. The audience responds with loud applause during this interaction.

JUST IN: President Trump completely shuts up Democrat congressman Brad Sherman after he tried defending FEMA, gets a loud round of applause. Sherman: "If I could just defend FEMA for a little bit." Trump: "Yea..." Sherman: *Rambles about FEMA* Trump: "The problem with FEMA is they come from all over the country. They end up in arguments with your people from California because they wanna do it a totally different way." "You haven't gotten very much done with FEMA because all you have to do is look at North Carolina. It's one of the great disasters of all time." "You know who came in and fixed North Carolina or in the process? Other states, people from all over the country came."

Mister President, FEMA has effectively deployed thousands of personnel to assist us, operating a large center from 9 AM to 8 PM. However, managing such a vast disaster requires coordination. While California has a large population, the challenge lies in organizing resources effectively. FEMA's approach can lead to conflicts with local teams, and their processes can be slow and costly. Instead of relying solely on FEMA, we should expedite local permits to allow residents to rebuild quickly. Many individuals may struggle to finance their homes, and not everyone has the cash to rebuild after a disaster.

Speaker 0: Mister president, if I can just defend FEMA a little bit. Yeah. They brought thousands of people in. I don't know how they're doing in other states. They're doing a good job for us here. They've got a huge center that's open from 9 in the morning till 8 at night. But also, when you have a disaster this size, you need to be able to deploy thousands of people, which they've been able to do. Now California, if we did it on our own, maybe we'd have thousands of people. You do. But but if Rhode Island has a Palisades disaster, are they then supposed to keep Speaker 1: How many people do you have in California? 36? How many what's how many million? How many how many million people do you have? You have 40,000,000 people. You're not gonna get a few 1,000 people? The problem with FEMA is they come from all over the country. They end up in arguments with your people from California because they wanna do it a totally different way. And I can live either way, but you haven't gotten very much done with FEMA because and all you have to do is look at North Carolina. It's one of the great disasters of all time. Speaker 0: And mister president, you can't have Rhode Island maintain a staff of 1,000 and thousands of people waiting to see if they have a disaster. Speaker 1: You know who came in and fixed North Carolina or in the process? Other states, people from all over the country came, and you have the same thing. You have a lot of people from all over the country. Getting the people is not a problem. Getting the organization's a big problem. FEMA's incompetently run, and it costs about 3 times more than it should cost. Speaker 0: I'm hoping you Speaker 1: can get the right on schools instead of giving money to bureaucracy. It takes you so much longer. Speaker 0: Mister president, I I thank you so much longer. FEMA for helping our people. Speaker 1: FEMA has a standard, Brad. And I'm a builder. I build I was a good very good builder. FEMA has a standard that's so slow. They want permit on permit on permit, and then they want permits on top of that. If you use FEMA, you'll be here for a long time. What I'm saying is get the city, get the the state to give you immediate 24 hour permits. These people are gonna build their own homes. They're gonna get them built fast. Yeah. Speaker 0: How many Speaker 1: of the people could I ask you one question? How many of the people what are people gonna do for financing? What are people gonna do? How many people can build a home a percentage wise, like, where they don't have to go out and get funds? Some people are just not gonna be able to rebuild their home because they have a beautiful home, but they don't have cash.

Aileen Lancelai lost his mobile home in Spruce Pine, leaving him and his wife, Teresa, relying on community support to survive the winter. Local organizations, like Spruce Pines First Baptist Church, are providing temporary shelters, but many families still lack power. Donated trailers are arriving in Western North Carolina, while FEMA's response has been slow, with only one trailer reported. Many survivors face delays and denials in receiving aid, and FEMA has not addressed these issues directly. A recent congressional hearing highlighted the bureaucratic challenges disaster survivors encounter. As winter progresses, the urgency for assistance grows, with some families, like Paul and Teresa, having endured weeks in tents. The future remains uncertain for those affected.

Speaker 0: I worked so hard to finally get a place to call home, and it's gone. Speaker 1: Now he and wife Teresa are making it through the winter on the goodwill of others. People like CG Dellinger with Spruce Pines First Baptist Church. Speaker 2: Yeah. It's gonna be cold, so they're gonna need the bait. Because a lot of them are still not they don't have power. Well, I'll be in touch next week. Speaker 0: If it went to proceed, we'd done been froze by now. Speaker 2: We're trying to get the all those families in campers or in temporary shelter. Speaker 1: These campers and RVs and tiny homes, are they coming from the federal government or are they coming from donators? Speaker 2: They're all coming from donators or private organizations that have raised the funding. Speaker 1: As donated trailers pour into Western North Carolina by the 100, FEMA's own temporary trailer rollout has lagged. Speaker 2: We have one FEMA trailer that's here that we've been told about. Speaker 1: Throughout the winter, we're checking on folks left homeless by Helene and those helping them, like Sylvia Langevin with the RISE organization out of Concord. Many have gotten some form of financial or hotel aid from FEMA, but problems like delays, denials, hotel vouchers running out or too far from home are still everywhere. Speaker 2: So when they can't reach them, they just put the case on hold. Speaker 3: No one can tell me a timeline or when. It's just pending. It's been pending now for several months. Speaker 1: FEMA leadership twice ignored our interview request to address these issues. On our 3rd try, they told us they were responding to the California fires and would only answer questions in writing. Speaker 4: The testimony you're about to give is the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help you God. Speaker 1: This 4 hour congressional hearing with FEMA administrator Deann Criswell in November holds some clues about the systemic problems in play. Speaker 3: I was there. My area was very hard hit. It should not be up to disaster survivors to navigate the bureaucratic labyrinth in their time of need. Speaker 5: Congresswoman Fox, I completely agree that our programs can be very complicated, and I have worked hard over the last three and a half years to try to minimize the bureaucracy and make it easier for people to gain access to our program. Speaker 6: Chairman Fox is right. Those issues about programs and being denied, this is not new. This has been going on for a while. It happened in the Trump administration. Speaker 1: Western North Carolina doesn't have the time to wait for the federal government to sort all this out. Winter is here now. CG got Paul and Theresa out of the tent they had been in for 40 days. Speaker 0: It it was life for death to the tap point for us. Speaker 1: But today, the future is still gray.

I was fired the morning after a demotion, with no written notice. My termination was attributed to actions taken for my own political gain, but this ignores a broader pattern of political hostility against my team and others displaying Trump campaign signage. This wasn’t an isolated incident; similar avoidance of issues occurred across Florida and the Carolinas. Senior leadership denies knowledge, but field crews (DSA leads and specialists) can confirm the widespread problem. Requesting FEMA incident reports will substantiate these claims of political targeting.

Speaker 0: I was notified after I demote. The next morning, they told me verbally I was fired, but they never provided me anything in writing stating that I was fired. They all alleged that these actions were made on my own recognizance and that it was for my own political advances. However, if you look at the record, there is what we call a community trend. And, unfortunately, it just so happened that the political hostility that was encountered, by my team and I was on two different teams during this deployment. They just so happened to have the Trump campaign signage. FEMA always preaches avoidance first and then deescalation. So this is not isolated. This is a colossal event of avoidance, not just in the state of Florida, but you will find avoidance in the Carolinas. Senior leadership will lie to you and tell you that they do not know. But if you ask the DSA crew leads and specialists what they are experiencing in the field, they will tell you. Demand for FEMA to give you those incident reports. They will substantiate what is happening to us in the field.

Senior correspondent Brian Enton joins us live from Miami with more on this. And, Brian, there is now confirmation that this happened. Speaker 1: Yeah. We've been covering this for a while. We heard rumblings of this happening, but now the official office of the special counsel report, has come out, and it says five different members of a FEMA crew reported that they did not visit a home because there was a Trump '20 '20 '4 campaign sign. The allegations of this happening first began circulating in October after hurricane Milton ravaged Florida. And according to the new OSC report, a FEMA supervisor in Marnie, Washington told the FEMA workers to avoid the houses with Trump signs while canvassing neighborhoods, to assist hurricane survivors. This new report makes clear that none of the crew cited any safety concerns at the houses with the Trump signs. The OSC says the FEMA manager violated the Hatch Act, which prevents federal employees from political activity. The violations include engaging in political activity while on duty and using one's official authority or influence for the purpose of interfering with or affecting the result of an election. Those were the official violations that FEMA manager has since been fired, Nicole. But remember, these are just the reports that were made public. Speaker 0: What is your plan with regard to FEMA? Are you planning to eliminate FEMA? Your testimony references that you want to, quote, eliminate dysfunction of the current agency. I'm unclear. I don't know if my colleagues are clear on what you mean by dysfunction, and I'm concerned that you're causing more dysfunction within the workforce that should be preparing itself for the pending hurricane season. Speaker 1: Well, thank you for your question and the discussion on this topic today. President Trump has been very clear since the beginning that he believes that FEMA and its response in many, many circumstances has failed the American people. And that FEMA as it exists today should be, eliminated and empowering states to respond to disasters with federal government Speaker 0: support. With with all due respect, where is the evidence of the failure of FEMA? I I I don't know about everybody else on this. I I my state, Connecticut, was hit very, very hard, with a superstorm stand Sandy. Every community in some way or another has been hit by that. And the FEMA on the ground, people come in, work with the families, deal with getting the funding out. Where is the evidence of the failure of FEMA? Speaker 1: Congresswoman, we still have claims open from hurricane Katrina. We have fire claims that are still unpaid to people who said they were due them seven to eight to 10 years old. They they have never been paid by FEMA. So one of the worst things that the federal government can do is to stand up in front of the American public and say, we will be there. We will walk alongside you in the most horrible time of your life and then never follow through on it. Well, that's So what the president has said is he's sick and tired of federal agencies. They pick and choose who wins and who loses. He wants to make sure that the federal government's commitment, when it makes a commitment, that it follows through. So he's gonna empower states Speaker 0: The federal government is advocating its commitment to the American people who find themselves. Speaker 1: Under Joe Biden's administration. Speaker 0: Now let let let me just say this to you. The office of professional responsibility. The office of professional I I I because I knew you were gonna go there. As you know, FEMA's office of professional responsibility, under the Biden administration, there was no evidence, no direction or agency or field leadership to discriminate against disaster victims based on political affiliation, which was a charge. Speaker 1: I'll follow-up with you and Speaker 0: Well, and I will follow-up. I will follow-up, and I'll follow-up with my colleagues, quite frankly, and to really listen to people whose whose states and communities have been devastated and what role FEMA has played. I don't know how many millions and millions of dollars went out in Louisiana. Actually, I've asked my staff to calculate that when when when Katrina hit, and the response was overwhelming. And the response has been overwhelming. If you wanna make corrections, that's fine. We all agree with that. Yeah. We can we Speaker 1: can point to thousands and thousands of air Speaker 0: Well, let's if you wouldn't mind getting this committee if you wouldn't mind getting this committee, the information and the evidence where you talk about the dysfunction of the agency and where it has really failed. That would be important to those of us who are, you know, are appropriating dollars. And it would appear that the administration overall has a way in which they're looking at dismantling the federal government. The states will never have the amount of money because the federal government isn't gonna pass that money to the states to be able to deal with what happens. It's when the federal government comes in and be able to give a hand to do that. And I think it's very clear from what you said that both yourself and the president really want to dismantle the federal government and the agencies that have provided service to the American people, for decades. I I I thank the chair for your time and yield back.
