When you go to hospitals now, not all of them, but many of them have waivers in the admissions paperwork now where they, once you sign it, give them permission to give you any medication they want to give you. For someone like me that didn't take the thing, you know, from couple of years ago, I didn't take that thing, and I don't want that thing, and I don't take any of the things. So if I go into a hospital setting, the last thing I want is for them to have the power to give me any of the things and then not even have to tell me about it. Here's what you do. When you are about to be admitted into the hospital, demand that the admissions paperwork be provided to you in paper form. They're gonna fuss.
They're gonna make every excuse. They're gonna push back. Stand your ground. Make them print it. They have to give you a printed form if you request it.
Then read through all the admissions paperwork. I know it's like watching paint dry, but read it anyway. When you get to the waiver that talks about how they can give you stuff and not have to tell you, circle all of that content. Write boldly through that section. I do not consent.
Sign it, date it, and demand a copy. Don't let them rush you through the process. You tell them, I'm not going one step further until I get my printed copy. You're still not done yet, though. When you get to your floor, you've got to tell your charge nurse, I do not consent.
Here's my printed copy in case you wonder. And then you need to tell every attending nurse. That means every shift, folks, every twelve hours. Don't just think they're gonna put it in the patient's notes and you're gonna be okay. That may not happen.
You need to make sure every attending nurse knows clearly and explicitly you do not consent. Get any feedback, notify the house supervisor. If you get any feedback from there, I'd get a lawyer.

But, anyways, I noticed weirdly enough after ten plus years that I started to get paranoid, and a lot of people started to blame me growing up for that. Speaker 0: This case was tragic and really had nothing I shouldn't say nothing to do with measles, but she did not die of measles by any stretch of the imagination. In fact, she died of a pneumonia, but it gets worse than that because she didn't really die of pneumonia. She died of a medical error. And that error was a completely inappropriate antibiotic. It was an insufficient antibiotic.
When you admit someone to the hospital for pneumonia, what you'd need to do is you treat what's called empirically, meaning you put them on antibiotics that you think will cover the most common organism. And that's why this case is absolutely enraging. It's infuriating because she died because she got an inappropriate antibiotic. I mean, this is like medicine 101. You put them on two antibiotics to cover all the possibilities.
It's a really, it's a grievous error and it's an error which led to her death. Not only did you have several days delay of decline without the appropriate antibiotic, but then when they realized that they were missing the appropriate antibiotic, it took them as far as I can tell ten hours to administer it. And by that time, she was already on a ventilator and approximately twenty four hours later, actually less than twenty four hours later, she died. And she died rather catastrophically. As she was declining, she was in a state of what's called shock, and she needed medicines to maintain her blood pressure.
And suddenly her blood pressures crashed and she arrested. And that kind of suddenness in an infection suggest some other cardiac event. And in a child like that, with that amount of inflammation, infection, and disturbances in the bloodstream, I I can only surmise that she died of a a catastrophic pulmonary embolism. It's disturbing when I review the the chart because I'm seeing that she's missing a really critical antibiotic that would have turned her around. I believe that with high confidence.
This was an otherwise healthy child as I understand, who came in with a common pneumonia and and a routine appropriate antibiotic would have, I I believe, changed that trajectory, from what it unfortunately and tragically became.

Science took a huge step forward, enabling vitamin revenues that were able to cure conditions that were caused by vitamin deficiencies, such as scurvy and a rickets. Sounds like a good thing. Right? Nineteen thirty five. Vitamin C, which the human body cannot make, became the first vitamin to be artificially synthesized in Switzerland.
Guess who pulls up? John D Rockefeller saw this as a big opportunity with the possibility that vitamins and medications could be developed from petroleum, which was his line of work. He saw the chance to control and monopolize multiple industries at once. Chemical, petroleum, and medical. Petrochemicals were ideal from a business perspective because they could be patented, owned, and sold for high profits.
Now there was a small problem with Rockefeller's plan. What was the problem? Natural and herbal medicines were way more popular in the early nineteen hundreds. Almost one half of the medical colleges and doctors in America were practicing holistic medicine using extensive knowledge from Africa and of course Native American traditions. Rockefeller knew that he had to get total control of the medical industry.
He would have to obliterate the competition. So Rockefeller used his oil wealth to purchase part of the German farthest pharmaceutical company, it's called IG Farben. Now that he controlled a drug manufacturing company, he moved forward with his plan to eliminate the competition. Around this time, a variety of healing modalities like homeopathy, naturopathy, chiropractic, herbal medicine, and obviously holistic medicine. These were what was going on right right now.
To eliminate the competition, Rockefeller hired a contractor named Abraham Flexner to submit a report to Congress in 1910. This report determined that there were too many doctors and medical schools in America and that all natural healing modalities which had existed for hundreds and thousands of years were unscientific quackery. The report called for a standardization of medical education whereby only the American Medical Association, AMA, would grant medical school licenses in The United States. Rockefeller's goal was to modernize modernize medical education and to improve the practice of medicine in America. Congress acted on this report and changed its laws related to the medical practice.
Teachers on diet and other natural treatments were completely removed from medical programs. So what now? Allopathic medicine becomes the standard of treatment in America With new laws in place, Rockefeller teamed up with the OG Andrew Carnegie and started funding medical schools all over America on the strict condition that they only taught allopathic medicine. Andrew Carnegie was a wealthy industrialist known for making huge investments, but this team systematically dismantled the previous curriculums of medical schools removing any mention of healing power of herbs or natural treatments. Not to lock in this monopoly, they launched a smear campaign against natural medicine, discrediting them, demonized them through newspapers and other media outlets.
Some doctors were even jailed for using natural medicine treatments that had been used safely and effectively for decades prior. So in a very short time, medical colleges were homogenized. All the students were taught the same allopathic system, and medicine became defined as the process of prescribing patented drugs, a pill for an ill.
